I have the same issue and just like u/ARCOZIB said, the fans bearings are out.
The best solution is to replace them, check which is the one damaged(by settings fans speed to max and checking the rpm). I ordered one yesterday from amazon.
This is where you want to get creative and skip the whole 1000rpm kids play. First identify the size of your laptop and find a laptop cooler that has access to install fans. For example Cooler Master NotePal U3 PLUS - Gaming Laptop Cooling Pad with 3 Moveable High Performance Fans (Black)cooler master notepad u3
Has room to install fans because it’s holes can be used to screw down 120 mm fans. 120 AC POWERED FANS
If you get a set of 1 row of 3’s and 1 row of 2’s . Totaling 5 fans all together. With each fan pulling 12 volts(you can adjust speed/power) you’ll be getting 2500rpm per fan totaling 12,500 rpm!!! What’s that. Is it loud, you bet.
But You’re probably asking yourself why!?. Because I have made one and I get a -10 degrees. Not accounting my rooms ambient temperature. A REAL boost to performance.
My laptop has a i9 10900k with a GTX 2080 super. holding 3 nvme m.2 drives. I needed a efficient solution. That’s why i made one because I cared about performance and not some USB powered 1.5 volt LED 1000rpm kids toy.
Make one!!!! It’s an investment that’s worthy. I promise.
WD-40 is NO NO. That is very dangerous for your parts.
I replaced my stock fans with these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08THVGWB1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_X2NQ430F7GNM05DMDV6H
They still run great, almost 6000 RPM at max speed
Stock ones only managed about 4300 to 4800 on a good day
I installed this exact stick in my AN515-54 and it works fine.
There are other brands of RAM of course and they're all basically the same. But Crucial has a good reputation and the price is about the same as all the rest, so if you want a quick recommendation, there you go.
Hi Mate,
Been having the same issues with my Acer Nitro 5 Laptop. Was reading a Youtube post comment the other day and someone had mentioned using a HDMI to Display Port Adapter that has a USB powering it so I purchased one and initially it seemed to work but only last a minute or so before it switches off. I did purchase a cheaper version and I'm thinking that is the issue. The recommended Adapter's Link is https://www.amazon.com/Active-DisplayPort-Adapter-Converter-Gold-Plated/dp/B0752D33PJ/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=displayport+adapter&qid=1609477857&sr=8-7
I know that you can get an adapter that makes the car charger port into a wall port, I will try and find one
Edit: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004MDXS0U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_t1_wKa4Fb29AB9JA this
I used this Ram Upgrade on this Acer Nitro 5 and it worked perfectly
My solution is undervolt -.14 Volts. Get a desk stand, I I got this one and it works great. And get a small desk fan and put it under the stand to get more air through the vents. And put fans on max with balanced battery mode on nitro sense With all this it brings down temps about 5-10 degrees. Some people have better cooling results than others. It’s a little loud but with earphones in I don’t notice a thing
The 8GB 3200mhz of that ram is the exact same stick that gets shipped with the laptop. Easy cheap doubling. It's Micron memory that is in the R99Q already and this is just a restickered sub-Micron company (Crucial, a Micron company).
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07Q3HNC79/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ryWkFb516KYXN
Perhaps it is the energy in the place where you live that transfers this instability to the current that arrives in the charger, and finally in the notebook, since the surge protector is a device that tends to reduce these instabilities in addition to preventing short circuits and other related problems to power supply.
It's very cheap and will help you prevent this and other problems.
I Recommend the Asus ROG Zephyrus 14".
It does have a Lower End RTX 3060 GPU, But It is very good to fit all your Needs.
It is very Power Efficient and has Great Battery Life, A very Good 100% sRGB Color Accurate screen with good Brightness and Great Pixel Density Ratio, Meaning Text like Code will look very Crisp.
It is very thin and Light, has a Finger print sensor built in and Face cam with Windows Hello Facial Unlock Support, Wifi 6E Support, Very Good Keyboard for typing and a Good Quality Chassis.
Cooling is also good, Has a faster SSD and Has Above Average Sound Quality.
It is around 1288$ (1264€), Pretty good for the Price.
Yes, thanks for reminding me. I got this ssd on sale for $15 off, but it's probably still worth it without the sale. I've had it in for about 5 days now and it works great. Fast load times in games, easy to install, and I haven't had any issues so far. Be warned that for me it only showed up as 953 gb. Again, feel free to ask any questions
It is literally $10-30 on Amazon if you can’t afford that idk what to say.
Don't worry I saw your other reply. the ram in my computer is https://www.amazon.com/Micron-MTA8ATF1G64HZ-3G2J1/dp/B084GQRGMW
and my specs are i5 10300h CPU
8GB ram
RTX 3050ti GPU
Thank you so much! That's good to know I can put a single 2tb SSD NVMe m.2 in there.
(I'm sorry for my sudden continuous questions 😭. I just keep thinking of another one)
Have you put a heat sink in your SSD? Because I heard it can heat up without one.
I'd like to bet one of these would fit in perfectly, but if you have one for your Acer nitro 5, then it would be so helpful to know.
If the reason you wanna get a hdd is the price, I suggest that you just get an ssd instead. Right now, the prices are so good that it's only a little bit more expensive for an ssd. I recently got this one and so far it works great in my an515-55
thank you for your response. i already have a mSATA SSD in a another laptop so i didn’t want to buy another one. but this is the SSD https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-500GB-mSATA-Internal-MZ-M6E500BW/dp/B07822P8JY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1537912307&sr=8-1&keywords=samsung+msata
Hi, I found myself in a similar situation, some googling led me to a tech called displaylink, basically, you can connect external monitors through laptop's USB port.
Check out something like this, but any device that states that it has a "displaylink" chipset will do it's job.
GODDAMNIT! I LOVE YOU!
it's all going to be just fine.
in the meantime..i have some "Low Speed Masturbation" material for you
I bought THIS and haven't needed anything else in awhile. Also got some miniature screwdriver kit..but, the above even worked for numerous LCD repairs. plus replaced my display panel. is good kit. only $10 and do electronic repair? not have to make post on /AcerNitro "I STRIP MY HEATSINK SCREW HOW I GET OUT WITH BUTTER KNIFE?" is good. not you, i mean..but we see many.
For some reason people from India will like..use the strangest things to try to take out screws? You know? They'll like use a rock and start bangin it or even cheese one guy tried?
Is strange. strange time to be alive. I don't know what's going on with 2022 but this is the weirdest period of time I've ever witnessed. Cept for after the Nazis in 45. That was pretty cool.
To answer your question directly, I think absolutely any laptop needs a keyboard protector. I think so because everyone who uses laptops wants to see their keyboard in good condition. On some laptops without a protective cover may over time, the letters are erased and in general, it can get dirty. I use a Mac, so I ordered myself one https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09PLKV8GX . It fits my work perfectly and is generally very comfortable to the touch. I hope I helped you!
Amazon RAM Here it is. This will work well. Check out the selection under the price list. You can either buy 2 8GB sticks of this or if it's still available they had a 16gb kit which is the exact same thing but it was a little cheaper.
The linked ram will work well. ONLY use ram that says 3200/1.2volts/CL20 or CL22. Do not go for the crazy expensive ram-it doesn't work on these laptops. Most laptops..really. You need XMP/DOCP to run any ram that isn't jedec.
That will work just fine. And be aware this particular subreddit is full of people who can't tell their ass from a hole in the ground. So be careful.
I run it through USB A. It's an "active" converter, that's why it works, it's like a "mini" graphics card. They have gotten expensive because of their rarity and compatibility with M1 Macs (which share our single HDMI Nitro problem).
So i just opened my nitro 5 and discovered another pcie/sata slot, bc i want to put a pcie 4.0 ssd in there, i want to know if my model ( AN515-44-R5K7 ) is compatible with pcie 4.0 ssds.
I would like to put something like this in there: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Samsung-Internal-Solid-State-MZ-V8P1T0BW/dp/B08GS7748F/ref=sr_1_5?crid=KEH5DNW8EOI7&keywords=sd%2Bnvme&qid=1655971534&sprefix=ssd%2Bnvme%2Caps%2C88&sr=8-5&th=1
In picture 2. i marked the free pcie slot +screw, and in picture 2 i marked the (missing?) 3. sata connector. So if the 3. sata connector is missing and i cant replace it ?! I need to decide between a long sata cable from the 2. pci/sata slot to the 2,5inch slot for an ssd/hdd or just use and nvme ssd directly on the slot right?
I use Vaccum Coolers instead of the pads. I found you get way more cooling power using these. In my in own testing I only got a few degrees lower from my pad, while getting 10 to 15 degree cooler with the Vaccum coolers.
Here's the link: Cooling Pad
I am currently using something like this with 6 fans and the 2 fans on the top part aligns with the vents underneath the laptop. My temps mostly max out at 81°C on my cpu and 77°C on my gpu, I have a friend who also has the same model as me but doesnt have a cooling pad, he says his temps are on the 85-90 and I also suggested him to buy one
What I used:
That's it really.
I have not played escape from tarkov before, If the Game does not look good in DLSS, Try using DLDSR and FSR. I use the Asus VG27AQ as my gaming Monitor. I got it in a Sale for 240$, Been Using it for 5-6 Months.
U can go for this one because it's cheaper and don't worry about thinking it won't work because of the manufacturer. It will work since it is the same ram that I use for my Nitro 5

raise your budget a bit and got something like that since it has more screw bits to choose from

you can get something like this that has multiple sizes of the screw and just feel it out on which size to use
Plenty of other thermal pastes can do it besides k5. K5 is actually the worst one (in regards to thermal transfer). It’s rated for 5.3w/mk
TG-PP-10 is an alternative to k5 and the pink putty with a thermal transfer rating of 10w/mk
H-PUTTY2 is a thermal putty rated at 6w/mk
TG6060 is rated at 6.3w/mk
Fujipoly has their Sarcon lineupwhich is rated from between 2.5w/mk (sarcon PG25A) and 13w/mk (sarcon PG130A)
Some even swear by SYY thermal paste. It’s not marketed as a gap filling putty, it’s supposed to be for CPUs, but the reviews indicate it is very thick and actually works as a gap filling thermal putty as well. It has a thermal conductivity of 15.7s/mk

I have this one and my nitro 5 never leaves it. Never have had an issue with overheating whatsoever. Definitely would recommend.
Yes, should be fine. The main advantage of having the higher 7200 rpm is the 30-40% in read and write speeds.
So, it should be fine with a 5400rpm.
You can also use the hard drive externally to save cost.
7200rpm 2TB hard drive for 48$
It will come cheaper of you try to use one externally.
I too wanna know if I can use the index with my laptop, I have the AN515-45 5600h and 3060, no displayport. Will this kind of adapter work?
Nitro 5 usb-c Doesnt support video output but you can use usb to hdmi adapters such as
This one especially works fine You can find other cheaper but my old one was 15€ and didnt work with my new nitro 5 but worked with my old one... I recommand you to take a good quality one "display link certified"
That's too expensive. I purchased this one https://www.amazon.in/dp/B002P5W4RU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share and this to clean existing paste https://www.amazon.in/dp/B082XDM478?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share it was around 800 INR for me. I did the repasting myself.

I have 16g ram now
You don't have to spend $60, i think you're about to buy a kit, $30 something is enough because you just need 1 more stick and that's it, that's what i did, and every timming and latency match correctly
I bought this ram stick on amazon

Here’s the m.2 I installed in my nitro 5 a couple weeks ago… I’d definitely buy another stick.
Have you tried a vacuum Cooler? I use one, and it's lowered my temps by well over 10 degrees. They attach to the exhaust ports, and suck air through vs pushing like traditional. My normal cooler barely did a couple degrees.
I do get odd comments when people notice them. I use two, one for the cpu side, one for the graphics card.
Here's the ones I use..Keep Vaccum Cooler
Bonus, one is near my mouse, and I can stick my hand in the warm air. I never have a cold mouse hand again. Lol, old gamer lady with always cold hands.

Thank you for replying!
Amazon has also been recommending me to buy the Crucial RAM, so I am guessing it's the go-to RAM for the Nitro 5?
What do you think about this Crucial SSD? It is a bit cheaper than Western Digital.

Bro. I had the same issue as you had. I just opened my laptop and cleaned the fan blades. It worked... I have no fan issue now.... Maybe it's the dust inside. Mine had too much dust in it.
If there is another issue apart from that change the fan itself. You will get it on Amazon. Here is the fan that is compatible for acer nitro 5.i ordered this for my pal....he had your issue itself. Now it's clam and peaceful.

I just got these feet for my legion 5 pro. I probably will also use them with my nitro 5 at some point, but they raise the laptop a little bit to get better airflow to the fans on the bottom.
What I’m saying is that the surface of the stand is the same as a table, there is no free space, those little holes are not enough of free space.
Something like this https://www.amazon.de/dp/B089ZSGLVS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_82DCDNV3CKN841NZKZVK should work better if you manage to place your keyboard under your laptop.
I’d use it for uni work and gaming mainly, but i dont really require high specs, also haven’t played many games recently, my current laptop won’t just permit it lmao, so you get the idea. it’ll be fine just as long as it runs most recent games…
btw thats the one i’ve found on amazon Deal: Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop - (Intel Core i7-11800H, 16GB, 1TB SSD, NVIDIA RTX 3060, QHD 165Hz, Windows 10, Black) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B097F451NX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_dl_B7R12X1PSN8T143F0PW1 but i think the 17” are not something to carry around lol
Adding to this really helpful comment if you budget is low i recommend you to get this Crucial RAM 8GB DDR4 3200MHz CL22 (or 2933MHz or 2666MHz) Laptop Memory CT8G4SFRA32A https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C4Z69LN/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_NPEXNX3VZZPS1V518HDK is the same spec ram that have the laptop integrate
Adding to this ram advice is that you should look for ddr4 sodimm ram that support JEDEC profile timing method of your desired ram speed. Many low cl latency laptop ram tend to only run their max speed at their xmp profile in which required a unlocked bios and thats a taboo for acer bios department (will you stop treating us like baby, acer ?). Additionally dual rank ram most likely will have better performance over single rank ram. A candidates for this i recommended is this or this
I got my replacement fans from amazon. It's a easy swap but can't seem to recall if I had to repaste when I did it. These are the fans I got not sure if they'll fit your model.

hey bro, I wouldn't know what to tell you, I don't really like cooling pads because I feel like they put more dust inside the laptop because of the pad's fans, but I bought my nitro a stand without a fan and it quietly produces 5 at 7 degrees celcius less than when I did not have the stand
Anyway, if you have money and you think that is good for your laptop, do it, in the end everything that you do for your nitro worth it

Here is the one I got, currently on sale for $60 (usd)
I assume your model came with a base 256GB NVMe SSD? If so, check your model number (it's on the bottom and starts with "AN") and google it, then look at the tech specs on Acer's website and check under "Memory" to see how many total memory slots it has.
The new ones all have at least two and sometimes three, so you're able to buy a second or even third storage drive (usually they've got one extra NVMe slot, which is fastest, and sometimes also a SATA slot, which is the more traditional drive format) which would make it a lot easier on you than running games — probably very slowly, depending on the game — from a USB stick.
You can get a good NVMe drive for pretty cheap these days. A WD Blue SN570 goes for about $55 USD; not sure about the international prices. And SATA solid state drives are even cheaper, with a 512GB SATA SSD going for like $44 USD. So that's not even $100 USD, a fraction of the laptop's price, to get basically five times as much storage as you already have.
Installing them is pretty easy. Just look up "drive upgrade [your model number]" and there should be at least a few videos out there explaining how and where to install each type of SSD.
(Or, yeah, just install whatever games you want on a USB stick or external SSD/HDD instead; just have it connected, and when you're prompted to install a game just direct it to that external drive.)
I found this one on Amazon for my model (an515-54), I think the company makes many different patterns. Can't find the one in OPs post though.
I'm assuming you mean GHz, not MHz. Use HWInfo or GPU-Z and log the data to a .log file, then use https://www.hwinfo.com/forum/threads/logviewer-for-hwinfo-is-available.802/ to check the average CPU temperature during a one hour gaming session.
If you've already tried everything, then there is nothing more to do, just accept the fact that 9300H runs hot. Try updating BIOS/chipset drivers, maybe they impose some restrictions to voltages. A successful undervolt, from what I can tell by looking at google results, yields up to 4 degrees lower temperatures, so not much, for pretty much all laptops.
Using HFiNFO software i confirmed that at 90°C the CPU throttles, so that's the hotter it cant get before the CPU starts to limit itself and lose performance. My model is GTX 1650 i5-9300h. So yeah, try to stay under 90°C.
Bro if you’re up for it can you check the display monitor name/ model id through this app
https://www.hwinfo.com/download/
Its a safe and renowned app for checking the real stats of a laptop
It should look something like this
I believe it's a different screw. Pentalobe. This image
In this first image, on the right side it's similar to that screw.

I asked OP below, but I am getting the same computer shipped this Saturday and wanted to upgrade it before even turning it on. Any way to find out the speed otherwise? I think it's 2933 MHz, but can't seem to find much info.
Deal: Crucial Ballistix BL2K8G32C16S4B 3200 MHz, DDR4, DRAM, Laptop Gaming Memory Kit, 16GB (8GB x2), CL16, Black https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B083VWCZLQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_dl_F62KHBC6JVQSSTB019G8?psc=1
check the ram speed before buying and make sure it is ddr4 for laptops.
The RAM you have in your computer is 3200MHz. Due to the processor, only 2933MHz is utilized. You’ll want to get 3200MHz, like this.
Once installed, it will default down to 2667MHz due to your RAM slots only providing 1.2V of power. There is no way around this on the Nitro laptops. However, you will gain dual channel support once you have two RAM sticks installed. With the latest BIOS updates, you can install up to 64GB of RAM (2x32GB).
Just for one to put your games on? Alright, I got some recommendations
And here's a 2TB M.2 2280 NVMe SSD
They'll be fine as a storage drive for games and whatever else
Here’s my post and some additional info about the speed difference in the comments section.
Here’s the Ram I purchased.. Your system can now support up to 64GB of RAM, if you wanted.
You can get one at amazon too. Installed it successfully

Depends on your budget and needs, i suggest you go for a 144Hz monitor https://www.amazon.de/Curved-Gaming-Monitor-23-6-inches/dp/B07YN79RJG/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=UACSWL4D452&keywords=aoc+24g2&qid=1637542001&qsid=260-8770828-8585157&sprefix=AOC+24%2Caps%2C172&sr=8-4&sres=B07ZQW5J8K%2CB07Y3RYLVH%... But i might be biased since this is my monitor :D The colors are great, the brightness is great, it’s cheap (for a 144hz monitor). But, honestly, i would just go to to any store and look for the ones on discount and google how they perform in tests and base your opinions on that.
Have a look at seagate barracuda or firecuda you should be able to find one with more than 2tb storage and they are fairly priced.
You can even get a samsung 870 QVO 2tb ssd under your budget.
