The adapter acts like a on/off switch also helps charge other devices you may have. The tote works really well in warming food up. I've done frozen chicken patties in it Chef boyardee left overs. Idk what size container you need but they might have bigger ones
Your body is your income now. Take care of it. A little caffeine and a lot of sleep will get you through the day. Stretch when you get home and before you start work. My boss calls my stretching “van yoga.”
I bought one of those massage guns that jackhammer the hell out of sore muscles for $50 on Amazon. Try compression socks to keep inflammation in your lower legs to a minimum. I take 2000mg of curcumin with fish oil every day along with BCAA.
The most helpful thing I invested in was this though. It has seriously increased my recovery time.

So i bought this, but instead of using the piece that comes with it to hold the phone, i mounted a metal plate and glued magnets on top, that way i can still use the phone mount in the vans. Plus the piece that came with it blocked the lens so that was a problem. phone holder
I don't know how you guys get by without lunch on the road. I can't eat cold sandwiches every day and stopping to get fast food everyday is expensive, unhealthy, and... we don't wanna stop lol. I'm no longer a prime driver but when I was driving I always carried OC spray in my left vest pocket. I use these Mechanix gloves. Only pair I've found that work well with the work phones and don't lose the ability after a day or two. Most gloves just have a coating on two fingers that wears right off. I have like 5 pairs of these now. They have different colors....but I'm partial to the wolf grey.

I don't know how cold it is where you are, but here in California these work great for me. A 3-pack of gloves is something like $13, and each pair of gloves generally last me about a month of delivering (past that they either have the material falling off the fingers, the seems at the palm start giving out, or they just get gross from all the sweat/skin buildup). They work great on touchscreens, give better grip than barehanded, and keep my hands clean and not dried out from all the dirty cardboard boxes.
I went a slightly different route and bought a rechargeable cap light.
It's not the brightest option out there, but it's as bright as I need it to be, and it's pretty cheap.
Im a driver for FedEX, I were either FIRM GRIP General Purpose and have been using them for years, 3 packs at HD for $20. or Ansell HYFLEX 11-840 these are the BEST but suck in the cold.
I love these. I use the for dirt biking but they work great for gripping boxes. The feel nicer than the free ones from the warehouse. Get grippy gloves. They make palming the steering wheel easier for tight turns, handling your phone (I have small hands so I kept dropping mine), moving those overflow boxes around, grabbing the handles to get in and out of the vans, plus you have a clean hand to eat your lunch. I use these, they have an XS size for us ladies.
Wow, so many unhelpful posts!
I used the gloves from the hub but the palms aren't grippy enough. Get grippy gloves, they help with palming the steering wheel when you have to make u-turns, keep from dropping your scanner, grab those handles for getting in and out of the van, getting in and out of rentals without those handles, and they especially help when handling your overflow. I can't tell you the amount of time I've saved just being able to move those boxes more efficiently. Plus, it's nice to take a glove off and have a clean hand to eat a sandwich.

I LOVE THESE THINGS. They have everything I'm looking for. They fit in the ear so comfortably that I often find myself showering and sleeping with them in. They are mono so I can listen with one ear and have my other ear open. They're small and nude and get mistaken for a medical device, so I can wear them in the warehouse or wherever headphones aren't allowed. They last about four hours of continuous use. They sound just fine for my use. They're cheap so if I lose one or break one I just buy another.

If you use Tor combined with a VPN you're basically untraceable, I'm not talking about cookies though. I'm referring to netradyne scanning and storing images of our facial data without informing us what they do with it. Everytime we have to scan our face in the morning for authentification do really think it's just to gain access to the app? Amazon is obviously selling that data without our consent.

I just posted this for the shorts: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CPHTZ1J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They also have pants in the same fabric, a stretchy "denim" like the pants Amazon gave.
When I was with Amazon our DSP never had enough shorts which pissed me off as I NEVER wear pants except if work demands it so even in winter I did my route in shorts. But the closest I found based on the pants they gave me was: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CPHTZ1J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They have become one of my favorite shorts BTW and I still wear it after my Amazon stint. I just wish I could wear shorts where I currently work.

Oontz speakers are pretty good and not to expensive and if you put it in the holder above the cup holder and plug it in it will last all day. I actually bought the two pack I put one in the back hook it up to a battery pack got surround sound all day. Right now they are like 60 bucks for 2 amazon
Stop wearing regular cotton underwear and problem solved.
This is what i wear and its pretty awesome. No more swamp ass like the old cotton days.
I usually get mine at Target, they often do clearances on older designs. They seem expensive but once you wear them a while you will see its well worth it. I could never go back to cotton.
These are great too more expensive but they last forever.
Actually Amazon does pay the AMXL drivers to do just that: Here is a fridge sold directly by Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Kenmore-50043-Refrigerator-Dispenser-Stainless/dp/B076P7L97D if you go to Buy It Now you have an option for: >$42.27, Hook Up & Haul Away As soon as Wednesday, Aug 3 Delivered to any room and hooked up to existing outlet. Product packaging and old product will be hauled away."
I'm a male driver so I can't speak for how females do it, but I get a gatorade bottle (this is important, you don't want the tiny opening on a normal water bottle), go in the back, close the sliding door to the front cab, and have at it. Chuck the bottle at the end of the day when I'm at the gas station or something.
I know they make things for women that let them do the same thing, just go on Amazon and look up "she wee" for instance: they're silicone uh... "funnels" to let women pee standing up, with their clothes still on, etc, just like us guys.
These off of ugh...Amazon. 17 bucks and they have great ratings and really have helped a lot!

No, I had to give up delivering because of tennis elbow caused by pulling parcels out of a tote bag while holding my phone with my other hand. I managed to last six months over lockdown in the north of England and one particularly nightmarish day in a major Scottish city.

OK, so Amazon can trace a TBA number back to an address, but can a member of the public do that? If they can't, then what's the privacy issue? What damage has been done to the customer?
I would suspect that if they were going to sack you, they would have done so already. Good that you've deleted the post. I would be inclined to apologise and just let things take their course. Of course, this isn't legal advice.
I wonder if I should be worried as my book has a QA code on the back. But if you look at it, there's something funny about that number. It almost might be something that van drivers like eating...
Great that you got the money - it's so good when customers appreciate the efforts we go to for them.
My book suggests a more sustainable approach to tipping drivers that would actually improve things for Amazon. The customer has the option to specify a gratuity for a good delivery - say from 1% to 5% of the order value. If they rate your delivery as satisfactory, you get the specified amount paid direct to your bank account. That would be pretty easy to code into the Amazon website and also takes the DSP out of the equation, so they can't skim that money from you. Customer is happy, Amazon is happy and driver is happy. Win-win-win!
https://www.amazon.com/Swipe-Finish-exploits-subsidise-deliveries/dp/B0B1J2TNKM
Another example of appalling leadership that is the direct result of Amazon contracting out this vital driver management function to a bunch of profit-driven chancers. Just remember that to them, you're just someone who makes them money. Otherwise, they simply don't care. In the UK, the majority if the drivers are 'self-employed', so the arms-length relationship is even more distant.

Well, I'm determined to do something about it, and, yes, this is another plug for my book, but if the public realises just how Amazon exploits us, there is a far greater chance that something positive will happen, particularly at the political level.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Swipe-Finish-exploits-subsidise-deliveries/dp/B0B1J2TNKM
My book contains guidelines for customers covering this very point! From the Postscript chapter, p.146:
quickly or just shout to let us know that you’re there. We then
won’t have to ring and knock a second time, and we’ll just
leave your parcel on the doorstep. A quick wave to our van
when you open the door lets us know you’ve got it and we
can be on our way.
friendly enquiry into how our day is going really does make a
difference. It can get lonely driving around in our vans for
hours on end. We don’t have time to hang about and chat for
long anyway, particularly as financial penalties apply if we fall
behind, but even just a kind word or two makes the day
better.
https://www.amazon.com/Swipe-Finish-exploits-subsidise-deliveries/dp/B0B1J2TNKM
There's some useful advice in here about the job but some of it might not apply to the US (assuming that's where you are).
https://www.amazon.com/Swipe-Finish-exploits-subsidise-deliveries/dp/B0B1J2TNKM
Hmmm. Sounds like more attempts by Amazon to justify the DSP system as being somehow 'entrepreneurial'. The reality is that the best way to make profits as a DSP is to skim as much as you can off your drivers without Amazon knowing.
DSPs are fake entities created by Amazon to divorce themselves from the requirement to manage their last-mile delivery drivers.

And if you've read it, please do review it - some reviews from working DAs confirming that what I've written is accurate and true will be vital, especially if Amazon try to sue me for libel!
Jokes on them though. It's $43 on Amazon and $4.87 at Home Depot lol.
To summarise the many responses from this thread.
My day rate at the time was £145 a day. How quickly I did it was up to me. So a fiver wasn't a big deal, particularly if set against the fuel going the other way (diesel is nearly £7 a gallon and my van struggled to get much above 30mpg).
The routes were quite rural, typically up to 100 drops, but with quite a bit of driving in between, so a break from driving was really helpful.
The area is a national park - really beautiful to drive around. Loads of people come there for their hollies.
The ferry is fun to ride and lets me just smell the coffee for a few minutes rather than haring round the lake like a mad thing.

I would hate finding dogs tied up on my rounds. Once, I found one attached to a marine buoy that was bouncing around behind him like a pink blimp, poor thing. There didn't appear to be anyone there either, despite shouting and blowing the horn.

Page 20:
What proof is there that the DSP system is broken?
Because the turnover of DAs is horrendous. Amazon’s target
attrition rate is 2.70% each week, which means that, in a year, the
company expects every DSP will completely replace all of its
drivers. That’s some target – one that the DSP I worked for
managed to beat!
In the four months between November 2020
and March 2021, Primal Logistics lost 66.7% or two-thirds of its
DAs. Yes, a few left to join other DSPs, but the majority of those
drivers quit to go to other jobs. What normal company would
accept a staff turnover rate at that level? By way of comparison,
the average annual employee turnover rate for the transport and
storage industry in the UK from Jan 2017 to Dec 2018 was 33%,
or just over 16% per year.
That's why Amazon drivers get a bad rap. Amazon expects them to leave after a few months, so doesn't invest in their training or provide decent conditions. In fact, Amazon doesn't even count us in their safety statistics. Like Putin's conscripts, DAs are faceless and expendable.

My solution to this, I use magnetic usb cables and have it staged as such that it becomes one fluid motion to mount and charge the rabbit and when I grab it at a stop, i scoop the cable away with my pinky, also one fluid motion. First: DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.
Before you get all the Reddit Lawyers in a kerfluffel and decide to lawyer up and go down the war path, read this: read
Next come to the understanding that you are about to fight a legal team of international labor law lawyers who will instantly find a way to prove that you did “xyz” thing wrong and the employer has no way of verifying you even showed up, blah blah blah.
The ethics hotline won’t do much, as this isn’t related to their interaction with Amazon and won’t risk the corporate relationship they have; worst case they get a shame-on-you email.
I HIGHLY suggest you play the lost tourist card, and inquire about why the group must be punished for the few who mess up. Let them know this is definitely going to cause a labor law issue (warning them won’t save them so don’t worry); Flys with honey and all that.
If they still refuse to act go straight to the federal labor commission and work with the inspector to get a group of you together to pursue a class action. Way better results in half the time.
Hope this helps.
1,000 lumen rechargeable head lamp. If I have packages in one hand and the rabbit in another where am I suppose to hold the flashlight?
Flashlights are a bit cumbersome. Headlamp is the way to go. There are a bunch of cheap ones on amz. Key features are rechargeable battery, tilt adjustment, and motion activated.
I use this one. Wave your hand in front of it and it turns on/off. Keeps hands free and is bright enough that you don't need to use the flash on the flex phone. I tilt it down one notch and put it on the second motion setting, works great.

My grandparents had one for long trips and that was back in the day! lol I remembered it and wondered if I could use one. My wife did find the piss pouches on Amazon, they work well. Y'all want to buy your own headlamp? I swear by this head lamp, I bought one when I was a car mechanic. Its waterproof, battery swappable, and brighter than anything Amazon or your DSP will provide you. It's a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth the investment.
Hot Logic Food Warming Tote 12V,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074TZKCCV?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Pick one of these up it’s a game changer. I bring chicken and rice everyday and it gets hot in 30 mins. Not only do you not waste money eating out but gives you more time on your break to relax as your food is always ready to eat right away
My best suggestion for the dark. Makes the flashlight hands free, and shines in whatever direction you’re looking, can be clipped onto your uniform hat. :)
You can also try downloading the OsmAnd app onto your personal phone or a burner device. Set it to continuously track and save your GPS route while you deliver. Then you can go back and look at each individual point along the saved tracks and see the location and MPH at each one. You can use this to confirm your travel speed while reversing.
Try downloading the free Open Street Map app OsmAnd (https://osmand.net/). You can track and log your own routes and it can help you navigate when your Flex app navigation craps out.
I'm glad I bought this 18650 swappable battery headlamp when I was a car mechanic, it's light output is definitely a game changer for finding addresses in the dark (or anything really) It has a flood light, and spot light, with varying brightness and they can get bright asf, the body is magnesium alloy. I absolutely love this thing. Definitely recommend for peak season! (A bay battery charger I would also personally recommend, it's better to charge the batteries externally)
If you’re somewhere that’s going to be below freezing a lot, maybe, but I was talking about these. You're going thru what I went thru 1 year ago, 😆. So I've learned not to wear Nikes or running shoes.
But these shoes caught my eye; I saw a review on Amazon by this pharmacist and I qoute..."No more knee pain"
Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2019
I was told to try minimalist wide toe box shoes for my toe and knee pain. I had never heard of this brand, but decided I’d try a lower price shoe first. These shoes are amazing. My toe and knee pain is gone! I am a pharmacist who stands 8-12 hours daily. Highly recommend over my more $$$ sneakers!

I totally bought this shoe and I couldn't be happier! I did replace the shoes with a pair of Dr. Scholls "Heavy Duty Support" inserts for working in the warehouse. 10k reviews Dr. Scholl's Heavy Duty Support Pain Relief Orthotics, Designed for Men over 200lbs with Technology to Distribute Weight and Absorb Shock with Every Step (for Men's 8-14) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M8O5HLY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apan_glt_fabc_QA5ZCXYM8VM022T12RWT
These two combined with soft socks makes my knees completely happy and pain free. With that said, I ordered my shoes one size larger to accommodate the inserts.
And yes I get quality sleep in. After work I take 2 BCAAs, 2 HMB +D3 and 2 scoops Multi Collagen Peptide. Helps your muscles repair fast, cuts down the soreness, helps muscles recover and builds stronger bones.
Good luck

I got these in all black close to a year ago and I’m probably just about to buy another pair. They are lightweight, waterproof, and affordable. They aren’t insulated so they aren’t ideal for snow but they hold up pretty well for a cheap boot
I ordered two pair:

Worst thing for sure is the lack of daylight, I have a little LED light clip for my hat. Also get some good shoes/boots and gloves.
This is the one I got. I kinda wish I waited though, since now that the time change is about to happen my DSP put out a sign up sheet for people who want a free headlamp. So I’ll have two now I guess lol

If you're getting blisters that means you probably need new shoes, and possibly new socks. As for blisters on your hands I never had that, but a good pair of gloves will probably solve that as well. I use these gloves, 3 pairs for $13 or so, and each pair generally lasts me about a month before I swap them out due to the coating wearing down on the fingers.
