I use instacrates for these deliveries. Costco has them for less that $10 each. I also have a stair climbing hand truck like this.

I have some experience from living in Rainy Seattle. There is no shame in wearing a cheap plastic poncho. It will keep you dry and allow freedom of movement. I prefer to wear a light rain jacket with a hood underneath, because the jacket hood stays on better than the poncho hood. For pants, I like quick drying hiking/fishing pants. If it’s really coming down and you need to keep your feet dry, plastic shoe covers with tread can work really well and allow you to wear regular sneakers

I would like to point out that you most likely won't ever be audited. I track, from home to home, but also track from warehouse to home and first stop on the route to last stop. It's helped me understand the changes in routing etc by having so much data
I bought some pepper spray ($10), always make sure to wear my Amazon vest and turn on my emergency lights ..
pepper spray is one of the most effective weapons to deter dog attacks. Inexpensive, compact and effective, it can repel aggressive canines without causing any lasting or long-term damage to them.
It's a learning process.
In your app, when you arrive at whole foods, there should be instructions within the app on how to get into the store after-hours. Since it's an instant offer, you don't get paid if you do not complete the offer. If it were a block and you had nothing to deliver, you would have gotten paid.
Carry a crate or a box or a milk crate or something when you are doing those logistics blocks. They are almost always mostly envelopes. You want something to contain then so they don'y fly all over the place.
In my market, our packages have little yellow stickers with each stop number ... I try to organize them in crates the best I can while I am scanning them. Before the yellow stickers, I would try and find the first few stops and put them up front. I have two collapsible crates similar to these that I keep in my vehicle all the time.

Costco sells something similar to a folding milk crates I found these at one warehouse and at a Costco business center. Each crate holds 2 full grocery bags and folds flat when not in use. They run $7 each and stack! Do not buy these from Amazon @ $25 each!
Fill those with bags and bungee cord the whole thing to your hand truck...

If you are primarily doing logistics (packages) you don't really need one. Even so one of these in your car at all times takes no space and the day you need it is the day you will be very, very, glad it is in your car.
Throw in an Ikea bag and two folding crates (Costco sells good ones) and you can pretty much one-trip any delivery any time any where. Well, maybe not all walk-up apartments. But nearly anywhere.
Made this on Amazon before I started driving. Drove for a good three weeks without the vest and the glares from customers and neighbors were insane; now I get smiles and people complement me on the vest because of how it looks and makes them feel more comfortable when they see me get out of my car.
Been driving with the vest for over a month now with no issues.

My orders are never all over the place when I keep them in my bag. it's probably the bag I use. As I stated in my post, this is my first complaint. However it's not my first experience.
I'm not sure what PM is. I do believe it's unprofessional to bring the food to the customer outside of an insulated bag. Bags really do keep food warm. I use this bag. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0741BQV7G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_J1jSBb16WGFH8 It keeps my food in place, no spillage, keeps it really warm, and customers can often smell the food when I open it. Once the food is in the bag there should be zero reason to open it until it gets to the customer. I have a pizza bag for pizzas.
You're right about being respectful though. I simply disagree about not bringing the bag. Maybe it's because I managed pizza places in college.

super bright and i've dropped it many times with no issue. it's small enough to fit completely in an amazon vest pocket without fear of it falling out. the only thing i can think about that would make it better is perhaps a way of strapping it to my hand so i wouldn't have to reach for it, but if that really bothered me enough, i'm sure i can engineer something

Thought to reply to you directly since you got a lot of responses. The one I use can be stuck anywhere, wireless charging and will probably work with your magnetic case, you'll have to test it out. I use this after trying probably 20+ different phone mounts of all types over however many years: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09QMD8VTT/ I stick it within arms reach so it's not covering any dashboard buttons I use or any A/C vent. I'll probably use this one for good, if it breaks for any reason I'll just reorder it but so far showing no indication it will peel off or anything and that's after months in Florida heat. Try your case but otherwise you need a thin (I use clear plastic) phone case so the provided magnet can reach the one you stick on your phone. I use it for android but it should work for iphone too.
Don't use an A/C vent clip... you will hate yourself when a heatwave comes in. The dashboard mounts are too far out of reach and peel off. Surprised to see those both recommended a lot in this thread.

Well to begin, I would say you did right by wearing your vest and always keeping the package visible.
Some other tips that may help.
1) Announce "Amazon Delivery" when walking onto someone's porch, not just when you get out of the car.
2) If possible, when placing packages on a porch, try to stay away from the front door. Consider placing packages behind pillars or on porch furniture.
3) When directed to place packages in certain areas (like the back porch, or side door.) Follow the delivery instructions as some people will count on you to have this information. (Refer to tip 1 while arriving at this location)
4) It is popular for delivery drivers to wear hats that are not Amazon related. Consider taking it off.
5) If you arrive at a house that has any signs, such as no trespassing or beware of dog. Consider calling the customer at least twice. Some customers have do not disturb settings which will not allow your first call to ring through.
6) Last but not least, Consider asking an Amazon associate for a car sticker. (Front and back windows) Many locations have them available. If safety is your main priority you can also buy one online.
Good luck my friend!
Go under your car and check it out. One of these probably broke. You'll just need to pull out the old one, align the hole from the plastic to the hole on your car's body and pop a new one in.

streamlight is a top tier brand of fancy flashlights, with top tier pricing. you can also get very similar chinese knockoffs for a fraction of the price which will work just fine for doing flex. the key things to look for are modern led chips, and lithium batteries. I'd look into the thorfire brand on amazon, or convoy. I like this one a lot.
if you like really nice things, another top tier brand too look at is fenix. also very expensive but not quite as bad as streamlight.
Although I don't live where there's ice, I would think I'd purchase and wear something like this:

Small and medium boxes in those bags and oversized left loose. Everything sorted by lowest to highest number with the UP stuff at the end. Since I drive a Ram Promaster City I put the bags next to the sliding cargo doors starting with the lowest on the left and getting higher on the right once I'm two back on the left. Oversized goes at the very back. On a three hour block i finish in half the required time usually. 4-5 hour blocks I can shave about 45 minutes off... Usually those are farther out and dirt, rutted, nasty roads.

Note: check your local laws lol I realize that if a cop really wanted to and you did this stuff in the wrong areas, they could detain you for trespassing or worse but I haven't had any issues. Only once has a cop slowed down and just stared at me but he ended up just waving back when I said hello. I’ve been delivering since September and got a headlamp after I saw a pregnant lady at the warehouse with one in November. Since I only Flex during the early shifts, it’s always dark and my routes usually end right around sunrise. It’s an elastic band with 3 adjustable brightness’s so I wear it the entire time over my winter hat or baseball cap. Since I sometime deliver to some sketchy places, I use it in well lit areas just to scan the environment. It’s been a game changer since I can see house addresses from the street and not look like a creep and have both hands free for the package and my phone. I’ll admit I thought they looked stupid but it’s been a huge help.

Don't wear flat shoes. Running/walking shoes like others mentioned are the best. Also, buy shoes that are the correct width. The widest part of your feet is at the ball. The shoe should fit like a glove in that area. No squeezing, and no extra room either. Too tight at the ball squeezes all the bones and ligaments causing unnatural movement and pain. Too loose at the ball causes your foot to slide inside the shoe, and that friction leads to blisters. It also causes excessive toe spreading and possible balance issues, so you're working the muscles harder which leads to pain as well.
Buy insoles as well. Most shoes use cheap foam, I rip that shit right out haha. Everyone's foot is different so it may take a few tries to find the best ones that work for you. I use Dr. Scholls Performance insoles. I have flat feet, and these have the best arch support IMO.
I rock $30 no name runners from Walmart with those insoles for Flexing. They're more comfortable than any brand name shoe I have, and cheap lol. It's also easier to find the correct width there too.
Sorry for your mishap. I highly recommend getting this flashlight. It has an amazing range - I can read addresses from 50ft away and of course it comes in very handy on these dark winter nights and slippery pavements. Cool thing is, I can use it for a whole week without needing to recharge, it's USB C charge so I just plug it into the car and I keep Flexing!

Do this in the middle of the boonies? Yes.
I bought a magnetic yellow flashing light to affix to the top of my vehicle when I stop, if I’m in a safer neighborhood. If someone in the house sees my vehicle pull up at 3:00 am, they could mistake me for someone with I’ll intent. The lights make it clear, I want them to know I am there. It also serves as a safety light on dark roads. If you don’t want to draw attention then you just don’t turn it on. I love it. But I also have my Sig for those that may mean ME harm! Lol! I had spent over $300 on my setup because I spent a lot of time in rural Wyoming, Montana and Idaho where human contact is rare.
Email that I received from flex today with updates regarding prime now. If you are not satisfied with that proof I will provide more.
You are correct that on average dsp stops are less in weight because it's 120+ stops compared to like 12 stops. However there are more stops with lots of weight in a dsp route than there are in a wholefoods block. And they can be significantly heavier. Those are 50lbs each, 500lbs to one stop. Maybe you can see now why I don't sympathize when a flexer is demanding 5 bucks to carry a case of water. That's light duty.
Lots of wrong assumptions from you. The first is that I haven't ever done flex or wholefoods, but I have and it may be petty to note but of the two of us only one is still activated. Second what you said about dsp routes is far off. There's about 80 packages over 5 lbs and about 20 of those are 30+ lbs. So basically all your points are incorrect because I've done both and know how it goes.
Yup, I've put a bunch of miles on my vehicle when my kids were younger driving them all over town! I'm all about using my vehicle to make money.

Terrible since they have 4 wheels. Something like this is better for going up stairs. I have something similar to this as well -- I use a collapsible crate on the bottom of it to hold the bags when I used it. Since I got the wagon, I don't carry it around much. If I have to deal with stairs, I just wheel the wagon to the stairs and carry the stuff up by hand. In this specific scenario, there was an elevator, but carrying the bags across the parking lot and then down that long ass hall way would have suuuuuuuucked.

This is all I need and never had an issue. I can stuff 2 cases of water and 4 bags of groceries per bag 6 if there was no cases of water
I use this small cart for Amazon Fresh & Prime Now. It is definitely smaller than the carts most people use, but I personally wanted something that could compact really nicely when not in use. Plus it's easy to drag up stairs compared to the larger carts I see people use, since not every building has an elevator :( I can usually manage to fit 5-6 average size packages, stacking two at a time.
I also have this laundry bag for cases when I can't fit everything in the cart. I rarely use it, but it does help a lot. Being a bag, it is very compact when not in use.
I mean ur not obligated to deliver it to the door but i have simple rule: 1. if its heavy and the building doesnt have elevator? Mailing room or lobby wvr 2. If its heavy and building has elevator? Then try my best to deliver it to the door. 3. If its light then elevator or not try my best to deliver it to the door.
Also it seems like ur new to flex so i highly recommend that hand truck. Its really the game changer. Personally i have this Mac Sports Collapsible Folding... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DAWKVBM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

The guy at our dispatch is very pushy about getting us out fast. I try to load up in 10 minutes. We are given yellow stickers usually labeled with a 1-40+ on the left and some random alphabets on the right. First I go for my boxes and anything 20 and above goes in my trunk. And boxes 20 and Below go in my rear passenger seats. I then go to the envelopes and just toss 1-20 envelopes in this tote I use for my personal grocery shopping. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071S1NVTB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_AYZZ0BD0ND62GDJPVM8Z
It fits a good amount of envelopes but a basket would work good too. I just like that it folds flat when I'm done. After that I just toss the remaining envelopes on top of the seats in the back and if we have to wait to get dismissed I start organizing the envelopes 1 thru 20 in order while everyone else is still loading up. If I'm still waiting after that I organize my boxes in order as well in the rear seat.

I carry one of these clipped to the zipper pull on my vest. Haven’t had to use it. But thinking it would repel an animal without harming them. At least, it would alert help.

To help with carrying bags, I bought this. I can fit about 6 in the carrier depending on the size and the way I place them. Helps a lot so I don't have to make too many multiple trips.
I'm a full time employee for an airline. I started doing this because the flights are slow, and just to be doing something different. I actually love it as well. I already have a system set up in my suv where I bought 3 long trunk organizers and a smaller one to help carry the items in one trip. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07921RPFQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_6Hz6Fb0GBCHJN?psc=1

Got it on the Black Friday/cyber Monday sale. It’s an extra large bag and I can usually stack like six fresh bags with the heavy on the bottom and just not close it. It has a draw string so I can tighten it to keep bags in.
I bought this lifesaver several months ago for less than $15.00. Of the many pluses, its hands free (works best clipped to a hat but I've also clipped it to my belt loop upside down - it doesn't open from the clip 180, so you need to finagle it), it's rechargeable, has a motion sensor function so you don't have to turn it off and on (that said, it can be annoying when driving but the convienance outweighed that for me), and you can have a narrow field of light or wider. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CM8ZGGY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_DjNWFb0STWSWV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
>That's an excellent idea ...I just dont think Amaxon gives a stuff what proof we have..and it's a lot of hassle to keep downloading and storing your days work ...and for how long.
Just ordered, the camera battery can record over 10 hours video so means three days blocks. 128G card should be enough for 10 hours video also.

So, every three days charge the camera and export the video. Won't be an issue for me as I'm woking at a data center, those thing may just takes me 15 mins. If Amazon asked evidence, I can upload video to Amazon AWS by using data center network, so easy.
Actually even at home won't takes longer either. Worth to have a try, compare to answer the BS question: " Please reply to this email if you can provide us with more information about this incident. "
As some have already said, Ikea bags are where it's at when it comes to delivering whole foods orders that have multiple bags. It makes it easier to carry them and it minimizes the risk or ripping and damaging the bags too.
I've never needed a dolly for delivering logistics, which are the regular amazon.com packages. Honestly having one will just take up space in your car and slow you down if you try to use it.
What you should spend your money on are good flashlights - These are pretty cheap and work great , and a milk crate or file crate to keep envelopes organized in your car. Makes it way easier to sort through them and keeps them from sliding underneath or between your seats.
Also a couple rolls of large and small cheap ass trash bags from the store to protect packages from the rain. Some people use them, some don't and I don't think they're really required but hey, I like to treat other people's stuff the way I'd like my stuff to be treated.
I just searched Amazon for "LED address numbers" and found several options. This is one of the cheapest options.
This has saved my life more than once...

I was getting frustrated with every pair of touchscreen work gloves I purchased. Half the time they would work. Conductive thread is the solution. Just sew it into the fingertips you use most with your phone and it is a world of difference! Conductive Thread
My first one was rough, but I've been getting better at them. Prime Now allows Amazon customers to order things for almost instant delivery, like in 1 or 2 hours, so it's important not to lollygag. Most deliveries will have multiple bags, sometimes as many as 8 or 10 per address.
At the warehouse: Mark yourself as arrived and wait until your phone buzzes. At this point, they probably won't have your rack ready yet, but in the app you can tap on Trip Itinerary and then Map and start looking over your route, making plans, or reading delivery instructions on each. Eventually they will give you your rack. Scan every bag, once it clears you as having everything you can start loading your car. There will be a little driver assistance sticker with a random word on it, like "PALS" or "ETCH" or something... All packages for the same delivery address will have the same word, so group them together for easy access.
When delivering: You're going to sometimes have a lot of packages per address, and you might have to take them up in an apartment building, so something to carry them with is important, that way you don't have to make 5 trips. I like the Ikea Frakta bags (very big storage!) and the Cosco Shifter cart. The cart especially comes in handy for heavy or large items, like the huge heavy cases of water and soda.
Prime Now orders are tipped, and the customer can change the tip up to 24 hours after the delivery, so hustle to get them all delivered. $5 per address is usually about what you can expect, but tips have been better lately on account of the virus.
Tips won't show up in earnings until 27 hours after your shift ended. This gives the customer time to edit their tip if they want.

If you have a phone with wireless charging you should get this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WBYBZ46/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_S8N.DbJ2Y7H9E
It automatically clamps your phone when you put it in the holder and there is a one touch release button when you need to remove. And you never have to plug your phone in again.
Definitely get a wireless charging cradle. My phone would constantly be dying before I got this:

All stations (logistics/pn/fresh) have a handful of bluetooth beacons located inside and outside, it's used for indoor location tracking mostly. I wouldn't be surprised if amazon starts leveraging those beacons in the flex app to battle fake gps apps falsifying checkins. On android you can use a beacon app like this one to scan for beacons in the area. I'm sure there's a similar one on ios
I use the Circuit app to prioritize my routes. Although sometimes the Flex app does a decent job and I don't need to. I'd say I use this app to prioritize my routes less than 50% of the time. Once I've scanned all my packages I always look at the map summary in the Flex app and see where everything is. If it looks crazy I use the Circuit app, if not I just manage w/o.
It's a pita to copy and paste all the addresses before I start but I've found it to be worth the time upfront.
Pro tip: don't actually use the waze/gmaps integration for navigation. I just switch to the Circuit app and see what the next address is and then switch back to the Flex app and select that address from the list. This avoids GPS "arrival" issues on the Flex app. I know this seems confusing but basically if your using any other app to navigate sometimes when you switch back to the Flex app to deliver the package it doesn't register you as being at the address, so you don't get the prompt that you've arrived.
Anyway, this app is def worth using sometimes.
I use gel cushions. I used to use one of these. But felt like it was just too thick for getting in and out of the car a lot. I found one at an auto store that has more of traditional car seat shape, and I've really liked it.
You could also mix in a lumbar support. A cushion for your bum can only do so much. Most car seats don't have good lumbar support.

I have this one. Lots of pockets. I put the Amazon Flex badge in the badge pocket. Ever since I started wearing this I have had zero issues from leasing staff but or customers. It’s not required but safer when u walking around in the streets.
You should calculate an hourly average. I don't believe its unreasonable to see $25-$30. You should be able to deliver 2.75 IO's /hour. You're trying to beat $20/hour. 3 $7-$15 IO = $21-$45.
7+7+12+5tip=$31 Being able to do 2.75 IO/ hour that's $25/hr+/-. If you find a good area you will have one or two unicorn hours that will make all the hours of no offers worth it. If you work 10-12 hours waiting for IOs You will have 5 hours worth of offers. $25+$25+25+45+60=180 That's only $18/hour based on 10 hours and $15/hour based on 12 hours.
Working logistics blocks overlaps the best hours to deliver for IO. If you pick-up a 4 hour logistics route at 1030 AM youre going to miss the unicorn lunch hour.
If I could find an area where I could potentially do 3 IO/hour. I would be there every day. IO is not that consistent in my experience.
Lunchtime and dinner time were the best in my experience. Logistics blocks overlap the best IO times. You can work Ubereats, Roadie etc during the slow IO times. You can use both apps at the same time.
You have to get a fast-charger for your phone that plugs into the cigarette lighter it will keep your phone at %100 all the time while you run multiple apps.

Google Pixel user here, did you check battery stats and see if it was SoT (Screen on Time related) or was facebook/etc chewing up you battery in the background? I worked 4 hours yesterday and from a full charge in the car while driving to the first stop; I worked a four hour and had 65% left.

also, there are very few USB-C car chargers which us the correct charging standard called: USB-PD ("power delivery"). I would recommend finding a car charger which supports macbook USB-c PD charging.\
This is what I use; I'm not certain if it has full USB-C PD but it has at least enough for the Google Pixel/XL
Easiest way I can think of doing this is creating a script using Tasker.
Edit: I played around with Tasker and used it in conjunction with AutoInput. Got a script up and running to login accept a block and logout within 20 minutes. Put some conditional phrases in there and your phone is pretty much set to loop a refresh cycle every five minutes. This will essentially take your phones ability to do other things away but hey at least you wont have to poke at the thing constantly.
If you decide to go that route, its worth noting that the script will probably just accept any and all things in its way. So keep track of what your little robot thing is doing and manage your time. Lol, you don't want to accept a block and then no call no show.
