How wholesome, I wonder if their history of the pledge of allegiance will include pictures of the Bellamy Salute to help understand the fascist nature of making children fucking pledge loyalty to the state or its flag ?

There are actually many edited variants of this one, but the "justice" one is usually indeed a lack of fence.
It is also often named "liberation" instead of "justice"
The version here also add an additionnal step "Reality" that could very easily be renamed as "capitalism"

"24/7: Late Capitalism and the Ends of Sleep explores some of the ruinous consequences of the expanding non-stop processes of twenty-first-century capitalism. The marketplace now operates through every hour of the clock, pushing us into constant activity and eroding forms of community and political expression, damaging the fabric of everyday life.
Jonathan Crary examines how this interminable non-time blurs any separation between an intensified, ubiquitous consumerism and emerging strategies of control and surveillance. He describes the ongoing management of individual attentiveness and the impairment of perception within the compulsory routines of contemporary technological culture. At the same time, he shows that human sleep, as a restorative withdrawal that is intrinsically incompatible with 24/7 capitalism, points to other more formidable and collective refusals of world-destroying patterns of growth and accumulation."
Uuh no they are completely different events on the other side of the country. *There were no Trump supporters at a Trump rally because there were white nationalists at a white nationalist rally. Genius logic there...
There were plenty of faces, opponents of racism that go to right wing events, that were at Berkeley that did not go to Charlottesville because they are totally different issues. Because they didn't want to be around white supremacists, white nationalists, neo-confederates etc.
Trump supporters have been beeing attacked for ages
There were three events at Berkeley, the first when Milo supporters got attacked. The second where free-speech protestors fought with antifa and got them back. At the third event when antifa got chased out well known racists turned up after seeing right wingers and antifa fighting and wanting to get in on it. But there was no huge influx, it was nothing like Charlottesville.
Yes there were bad eggs in the crowd at Berkeley that showed up by the end. It's almost like bringing violence to a peaceful event attracts extremists...
Qwant is a working european alternative to google. Granted it's not as good when you want to perform very precise search but it works well for normal searches and doesn't spy on you.

I rely mostly on Qwant Actualités. ;) It's probably the best tool for monitoring local and national French news from a multitude of sources, but only if you create an account and set the language and region to French/France. Any other language/region and it uses Bing instead. Bleh. Even the base search engine is better for finding French content than Google.fr - but again, only with a French/France account.

>Most search engines—even supposedly “neutral” or “private” ones—don’t have their own index. They’re just façades that rely exclusively on third-parties. At Brave, we want to build our own search index, because this means independence. And independence means choice. Choice for the user to have alternatives, and choice that allows Brave to not be beholden to the policies of third parties (e.g. censorship, biases, economic interests, etc).
>Brave Search beta is based on an independent index, the first of its kind. However, for some queries, Brave can anonymously check our search results against third-party results, and mix them on the results page. This mixing is a means-to-an-end toward 100% independence. F*or full transparency and to measure Brave’s progress toward that goal, Brave provides a “Results independence” metric. This anonymous calculation shows the % of search results that come from Brave versus these third parties. Note that no matter the independence metric, your privacy will always be 100%*.

Also shoutout to Qwant which is not a meta engine/proxy like DDG or startpage (not minimizing their usefulness though) but a search engine indexing the web (it relied on bing at first). It’s focused on privacy (we have to take their word for it since it’s not open source)

Personally, I don't consider an item vegan if it has a chance of interacting or coming into contact with non-vegan items (chicken for example).
Unless, they prepared it in a separate place from non-vegan items which I don't know if they actually do that without seeing it for myself or have an investigation held to make sure.
From my Ducks and Qwants I can't find any info that is sufficiently trustworthy about whether any products from that restaurants are vegan-safe. (Google might have something but not touching that any time soon.)
>I understand some people and many of my friends take issue with non-ethical sourced products as well. Me personally, I just care that it doesn't have animal products.

how about something like this one ?
i feel like the photographs are not only graphic, but also confusing... i guess obgyns wouldn't be shocked and would recognize what they are looking at, but i don't!
on the visual side, i'd make the two paragraphs clearly independent, either next to each other, or full width with one before and one after the pictures: but having it starting in the middle of a sentence ("know for understanding...") makes it hard to read;
i would put the contact info in a separate box, or on the bottom horizontal line;
might even want to move the subtitle up under the main title;
and if you find a good detailed picture, i would use it on its own: think clear, no distraction, easy to read.
by the way the little 1 is missing from the footnote!
ETA: I realized the pic i linked is actually the one used on wikipedia so you probably saw it and dismissed it already. if you don't manage to find anything better than those photographs, you could use it and caption it.

Her paper is a sum of projections - anything that doesn't fit her idealized manlet paradox is pathologized. It's a bad world view that is holding you back. Her ideal man - is not an ideal man - it's a repressed man.
Go out there, find a sexy feminine woman that has her shit toghether (emotionally not professionally) and ask her what types of men she can see in the world. That's what you want.
She, is not your mom. Stop chasing for a reasonable, seemingly rational mother figures approval or guidance. We did not discover a solution to human developement in the 70s, that was drugs, "scientists" "discovered" tripping your balls off and said - this is much more chill than my hard working dad that pays for my science grant along with the rest of the boring stiffs. This must be a higher plane of consciousness than those boring folk. And then they proceeded to watch dolphin bestiality. (true story - look it up, science was into some kinky shit with cold war money)
On the scientific side, her work starts out with gstaltian premises that are seen infantile in modern psychology. We are not what we believe, we are not what we suffered - we are not all just coping with some different trauma.
Modern behavioral and cognitive research actually suggests the gstaltian identity is the real ego trap.
A convenient cocoon of rationalizations and disparet causalities that justify peoples fears, behaviors. Essentially - we are arseholes until some external force makes us think twice. And we all think we are good and have to implicitly or explicitly justify being a selfish prick.

Hello,
Il me manque juste internet maintenant.
(This image is photoshopped btw. Koala's teeth look nothing like that. I think it's a dog's jaw. Also, original image here)

> the oldest and most tranquil/serene forests in France? Old growth trees are still in France yeah?
There is no primordial forests in France anymore but the biggest forest in France is... the Amazon Forest, in Guyanne. I don't know about the oldest but here is a list where you could find the information with a bit of digging https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_forests_in_France i'd suggest you to check out the parcs naturels which are protected landmarks and quite beautiful.
>I really like nature beaches/forest, good food, and I'm also collecting antique hand tools for woodworking. Do you think the markets at a big city is better for that or a smaller town where the tools are maybe still there from old industry like shipbuilding?
Yep, definitively coming to the right place, problem is there is so much of that it's really hard to point you in one specific direction, i'd say shy away from the big cities for that stuff (i might be wrong) and look up the specificities of small towns of the area your are planning your stay.
God knows what their politics are they don't push em! It's fast, efficient gets good results and they value your privacy.
Per the Hjulstrom Curve, silt is anything between 0.01 and 0.1mm diameter. It will settle out eventually, it just might take a while to do so, as finer particles require lower velocities for deposition. Salt, as you’ve said, is in solution in the water. This means it must be removed by some method other than settling, the easiest of which is evaporation.
I have found there is a recipe here: https://www.qwant.com/?q=almond%20flour%20noodles&t=videos&o=0:7d51f8335f0e58d5b5e0358a3dfee5d0 where the person uses almond flour, egg and xanthan gum to come up with something similar to wheat noodles. It comes out just as hydrophobic and elastic as wheat flour noodles . Not sure about the taste tho. So you're onto something there.

"This small and vividly coloured oil painting shows a predominantly female group of figures dancing in an open area of bare, sandy ground before two solidly-built two-storey buildings and a hilly, richly vegetated landscape, surmounted on the right by further solid-looking buildings, a thatched hut and a windmill. The setting is intended as the Caribbean, probably St Vincent or Dominica where the Italian-born artist Agostino Brunias was largely based from c.1764 until his death in 1796. Although the early ownership history of this work is not known, Brunias created such idealised views of life in the sugar colonies of the British West Indies to sell to plantation landowners and colonial administrators, although he also published prints in London and Paris which made his images more widely known.
The painting is typical of Brunias’s work, in showing a mixture of men and women from African and mixed African and European descent engaged in leisure-time activities in a public space. The scene therefore includes figures who would have been expected by contemporary viewers to be enslaved (the darker skinned men and women) intermingling with others of higher social status who might be free women of colour (the lighter–skinned women wearing more European-style costumes). The costumes of the figures also combine European and African elements (with turbans and headwraps in combination with corsets and shirts, and all the figures barefoot). Their dance appears to be a street dance on the move, accompanied by a small band moving with tambourines and triangles, perhaps the pre-Lent carnival traditionally known as a Masquerade or Mas’ which is still performed in Dominica."

> Should I go get a mouth guard ASAP?
If you grind your teeth: yes. If you don't see the effects of the grinding on your teeth yet, you're lucky. I have this thing called "Bionator" over here, but there's just a German wiki on it, there might be other versions of it, but it looks like this: https://www.qwant.com/?q=bionator&t=images . It cost a bunch, but it helps a lot to prevent that loop of tensing up because you grind and grinding more because you tense up. Also, I have less issues with breathing at night. To save your teeth a casual mouthgard might be sufficient.
Slight typo, it's pluie with an e, and thus parapluie. But spot-on otherwise :)
A quick note though: parasol are what we French people call really big umbrellas. Like, a regular portable one would be large enough to cast a shadow on 3 or 4 people. A "personal" parasol is called... une ombrelle :) And I'm sure you can already tell where it's taking its roots from!
For rain, we only use parapluie though :)
Of course I do!!! It was the Alfa Ti4, a big hit in Brazil at the time, since it had power locks, power rear view mirrors, and the interior was all black leather, hand stitched. A marvelous machine, really. The equivalent in Europe would be the 2300ti.
The Giulia GTA is such a pretty car, I can totally understand your love for it. I just like them all, everything about them.
The new Quadrifoglio, for instance, make my mouth water...
Dzień dobry !
Galette (somethng like this) with salmon and leak fondue
Andouillette, grilled on a barbecue. Made with pork lower intestines, so tastes better than it smells. Great with mustard.
Doisneau's work, still very representative imo
(a) Education system, while cheap for students and w/ good academics, is showing some very concerning weaknesses : inability to prepare kids to citizenship, to mix social classes, inability to adapt to the labour market, to help kids choose a viable and fitted educational and career path. With imo not enough ressources, and teachers not paid enough. And it is a nightmare to reform (b) Unemployment and very low economic growth (c) Short-term policies just for the show, while doing nothing to truly tackle those issues, and a massive distrust of politicians.
No idea right now, I guess school made a good job omitting the bad guys from our history...
Shitty spanish
Imo its been settle for some time, but pretty recently.
I associate it more with Prussia than Poland, but yes.
Nope.
"Engrenages" was good, 5 seasons thriller show following cops and justice w/ stories based on real crimes committed in France.
There's a search engine from a French company called Qwant: "Qwant's philosophy is based on two principles: no user tracking and no filter bubble." https://www.qwant.com/ I usually switch between that and duckduckgo, unless a site has a decent search feature (wikis, forums, etc).
Bon ok, on prend".

Under settings you can add a custom search engine with following link. https://www.qwant.com?q=%s Under setting on qwant.com you can copy the preferences although that can be used as a tracking method (not saying they use it, I have no idea), then add &q=%s at the end
Lmao bro one of my first dealers had this And used it the whole time I bought from him. It was only grams back then but dude refused to upgrade.
That is a possibility, in respect for your privacy i wont ask where you are from. I can however tell you in my experiences i haven't had issues where ive been. Here are some other alternatives that might work
Im not personally familiar with these, but they are held in a high regard for google alternatives. I believe startpage pulls from google while maintaining privacy from google.
I vote for something vibing like pic rel: https://www.qwant.com/?client=ext-firefox-sb&q=sweetheart+neckline+80%27s&t=images&o=0%3A5454FDC5C28DCC136E50B458BA088977E7A15A26
A really well defined 80's glam style sweetheart neckline with off the shoulder sleeves.
We live in a cursed timeline:
Vanilla Liberals comparing Trump to Mao
Conservatices Liberals comparing Biden to Mao
And this is just with simple keywords searchs, with some effort you could present a selection of articles, tweets, or political comics of both liberal sides making a clear accusation of the other side being maoists.
I don't think this is an unpopular take as you may think it is. You're voicing what we're all thinking.

qwant.com is a great search engine.
A search for /r/coronavirus gives this sub as the first result, as should be expected from any search engine.
Try it: https://www.qwant.com/?q=%2fr%2fcoronavirus&t=web
Member when Bernie used campaign funds to buy his own books?
I guess that's better than when he gave his remaining funds to Hillary though!
I see this comment in my inbox, but not in the thread. Don't understand that, but I'll answer you here, anyways.
I'm never sure what links I can post as I've had comments removed in the past and want to avoid that. Being elder and technologically challenged, prompt buttons for markdown would also be helpful as I screw up with the brackets and parentheses. Even if I'm hesitant to post live links, I do try to cite the source.
Both things I posted about I found in a Quant search: https://www.qwant.com/?q=Vindman brothers &t=web
Here's the heavy link: https://heavy.com/news/2019/10/alexander-vindman-family-wife-parents-brother
And the gq link: https://www.gq.com/story/alexander-vindman-immigrants-america
Not sure if you will see this, but know that I tried.
Edit: Now I see it in the thread. Took long enough to show up. Fuck Reddit!
Grave are rented for like 50 to 100 years, so you'll be dead before your grandmother leave her tomb. If you travel to Paris, you can visit the catacombe where they store the bones of the former parisians, that's a pretty impressive place https://www.qwant.com/?q=Catacombes%20paris&t=images&o=0:8be94927aeb83029102c0685c96d279f&size=all&license=all&freshness=all&color=all&imagetype=all&source=web
For a google alternative you can try Qwant.
it's a great search engine, perhaps just slightly less performant than google but that, at least , won't keep your data and spy on you and it's European. I made the switch a couple months ago and have almost completely stopped using google. It works great.
If you're in Europe, try to use Qwant.

Open Souce is a renaming campaign of Free/Libre software to make it business friendly.

Use FLOSS for neutrality or just "libre software" to support the ideology of freedom behind this term.

Also, you can use Qwant, which is libre :

If you don't get an answer, find a copy of the world coin catalogue in a nearby library.

Qwant is very finicky. I really had problems searching for some specific terms in my field (it was a test). Have a friend at work needing to google words that are SFW and related to our field, and it would give kinda NSFW results.
e.g.:

multiple sites have interviewed VPN's.
you could also ( albeit slightly more difficult ) set up your own VPN using any computer - a friends on their network, a dedicated rented server or a Virtual private server.

Edit: upon further research have found a better source:

multiple reviews and information on vpn's
It looks a bit like a Nemesidae, a family of trapdoor tarantulas.
EDIT: I've looked around a bit, and Antrodiaetus pugnax may look like this one.
site: seems to work at least...

Edit: What I am missing though are ways toggle search results up to a certain date and in a specific language.
I'm afraid you're in dire need of twats.
FWIW :
> Qwant > > Why the name "Qwant"? > The name "Qwant" comes from a mixture of ideas. The Q of Qwant comes from "Quantity", evoking the quantity of data processed by the search engine, and "want" is the contraction of the english term "wanted".
I guess you can pretty much configure just about everything, but you'll have then to create an account (a feature I'm not using tho), see the faq :
> MY ACCOUNT
> Why create a Qwant account?
> Having a Qwant account comes with several benefits, the first being the definition of your preferences. You can therefore choose which categories are displayed and which options are activated. These settings will be saved every time you connect through the use of cookies. The creation of a Qwant account also gives you the option of saving your "favourites", i.e., the websites that you want to appear on your home page. At the same time, with a Qwant account, you’ll be able to access notebooks, and create and manage notes. > We practice "Data minimisation". That means that when you create a Qwant account we collect the least amount of data required in order to provide you access to our service. That’s one of our commitments as it relates to private life.
DuckDuckGo or Qwant as well. It can only improve them over time. That might be beneficial for everyone to get additional competition in the search engine market.
