Significantly Not as Described. PayPal was supposed to back me up. I provided proof, in the form of pictures, pictures of what the seller was selling and of what I actually received. The paypal representative basically said it was a closed case, I paid for shrimp, I received shrimp. Paypal just took their fees and closed the case. It was like I was talking to a wall. I know it's not entirely Paypals fault. It was the fraudulent seller, but PayPal is supposed to protect us from fraudulent sellers.
This, the fees, and a few other transactions that have went south are why I hate using PayPal. Now that there are other payment methods we need to use them, they are safer and most come with zero fees. I'm going to look into using google wallet for my future /r/AquaSwap transactions.
72 and below has been working for me. I have this aquarium clamp on fan which cools the water temp even if the room temperature is around 80 degrees when I'm at work during the day. I've struggled with keeping the water temp down when I first started, but after I got the fan a few years back, I've been fine.
That was just me rushing to get some pics on my phone before work lol. It's a Pixel 3 but I have a clip on macro lens that I keep by the tanks for close-ups. It came as a macro/wide angle combo.
I buy in bulk off Amazon. Just standard corregated cardboard. Shipping is technically 3.50$ plus the 39 cents per box plus tap and bags comes out to about 4$ for me. Obviously bigger boxes are needed sometimes but then I usually just recycle old boxes. (And packing material save the enviorment guys)

I originally got it because I had a green water issue and no matter what I couldn't fix it. 5 days days and I wen't from barely being able to see through my tank and it being crystal clear. It's also super silent, it makes basically no noise at all. I can't speak for any other brands but this device is incredible and I can't say anything but great things.

Maybe something a little more permanent...?
Ya know those things people are wearing instead of those "hooked over the ear" masks....ya pull them over your head and wear it around your neck (kinda like a scarf) and pull it up when you need to wear a mask...? (come on Google...don't fail me now!!!)....
Sometimes called "neck warmers or "neck gaiters": https://www.amazon.com/Copper-Fit-Guardwell-Cover-Gaiter/dp/B08FXNZN9N
Something a little more permanent then a simple face mask.
This is the one I have. Pretty sweet, you can change the media as well if you want and throw a bag of purigen in it.

I’m using dry rock and no substrate
I put some enough of it to increase ammonia by 3ppm But I rarely add it as when I do a water test my ammonia levels are at around ~1 when that happens I just add more
I purposely underdose this as When I used this to cycle my 3 freshwater tanks it got my ammonia to 8ppm and I’m pretty sure it was higher as it wasn’t even a color I could recognize
Go with nerite snails. You can get them from Amazon for $20 for 8. You sure? This looks quite like it at around $80 new on Amazon.
My money's on this light from Amazon, as /u/Gredival said, it's sold under many different names, chinese.manufactured LED. The nicrew on Amazon has loads of good reviews tho and at a price that's not too painful at all.

Very happy! I do have a dimmer which in my mind is a must for this or else it is very bright. I went with the Current USA online dinner on amazon.
Went from 8 jungle Val 3 months ago to “I can’t count how many anymore” haha.
I think the fancy box you speak of is sold on Amazon. Not sure if I past the link it will work.
I use these on my 5.5 gal tanks just fine.
These would be smaller pieces but I've ordered several times and you can mish mash them together well enough or spread out in groups.
I grew these in a fairly well stocked and mature tank, so there are plenty of nutrients in the water column... but I'm sure my CO2 system did the majority of the work ;)
Thanks for the compliment! It is pretty stuff. I especially love their symmetrical, flowing root systems. I prefer the look of mosaic leaves over lettuce leaves, but mosaic root systems are a crazy jumbly mess.
If you're hesitant about trying CO2 I highly suggest using the citric acid & baking powder method over the traditional yeast and sugar method. You can control the output of the acid & powder method which makes it last much longer. These "DIY kits" make it really simple to setup and control, though they take some practice & patience to dial in just right: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08Y8B83G4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

According to your post you're in the Houston area, where at? I'm @ 77373 // Spring TX north of Houston. If all you want is $50 I'll gladly take it and refuse/return the amazon one for yours. I would either like to pick it up if you aren't too far OR have it shipped if the gas costs the same.
Do you think kuhli loaches need sand or can they do fine in this
I'd love for you to give us a link to where these were $50 yesterday. Better yet, where can you find one of these for $90 dollars on a normal day? What are you talking about? I'll give you the title to make it easier, they're called fluval 107 performance filters. They go for $143 at most pet stores, and the cheapest one I found was on Amazon for $124. I know because I did all of this work before wasting people's time and money.
People aren't all asking to buy these because they're stupid. Like I said, if you know where it's cheaper, then let everyone who didn't PM me in time know so they wont miss out.
I presume you mean for the 29 gal tank? It's a Finnex Planted+ 24/7 HLC 30" light. This was the Amazon listing. I have it on a 3D printed riser but still have the original legs.
The 5.5gal has a Finnex Stingray clip-on, but that setup is taken.
Both Randos from amazon. Here is the filter https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005DGHRU2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I used thin walled stainless steel tubes to replace the ugly plastic ones, and 3d printing custom holders that hang on the Aquarium edge. For a 3 gallon tank it's not bad. You really can't go without a weekly water change and filter cleaning though. This tank is as bad as it is because life hit and I missed the regular change schedule. Was happening more like every 10 days, which obviously gave that staghorn and green thread algae enough time to make a foot hold. Also I need to replace the intake sponge almost every week. Not that big of a deal if you just buy a large block and cut off small piece each change.
Im in NJ. would you be willing to ship if i paid for freight? Small $1 Rubbermaid liquid storage bins work well for shipping for a day or 2. just teflon tape the thread for extra seal and put in box. Only takes 1 day, 2 max down the east cost.
Have a list?
Tray holds 50 API tubes and the egg tumbler has a crack at the top of the tube shaft. It still works fine and can be cut down to remove the cracked part if you wish. The tumbler was never used and is in excellent condition otherwise. I can give you a handful or two of salvinia too.

Everything is in good working condition, no noticeable scratches on the glass either. Selling because I upgraded to a bigger rimless tank.
> Active substrates are purposely built to adjust the water parameters over time, specifically lowering the pH level. > They're sometimes called buffering substrates as they're designed to help buffer against pH swings, keeping the water stable.
I'm trying out a walstad hybrid method, surface is with a bit of quartz, sort of like desert sand. [This is the product](amazon.com/dp/B000QTHACQ) it's mixed in with some fluval stones. Underneath is soil, fert, a bit of statum.
So far the hardness stays. I've a feeling the swings are sensitive but not that much as it's a 15 gallon, I add eggshells, just a pinch every month + water change. I have no RO system or apply salty shrimp YET. But plan to. RCS are doing fine, just have to get water changes perfect as I did have 1 mortality with the recent 1. Also, it's heavily planted. Plants are thriving.
Thought of adding more to the substrate but I think powder mixes are better. Wdy think?
this worked well for me, only used 1/4 pack and i have hundreds of daphnia

Perhaps consider also posting about the goldfish on Nextdoor.com! Since they are single-tail goldfish, they definitely belong in a pond where they can really live long and grow out to adult sizes. I also live in Atlanta and rehomed a couple goldfish on Nextdoor with many really nice pond options emailed to me when I made a post about them. The man I ended up giving them to added them to his 4,000 gallon pond! :)
Hoping they get great new homes soon!
You can also make a post on Nextdoor.com to see if anyone in your area has a proper setup they can go to! I rehomed 2 goldfish to someone with a pond through Nextdoor not too long ago
Pick-up only, please!
I downsized and no longer need this stand. It’s the Marineland Majesty stand for 75 gallon tanks, and I used it happily for about a year.
It’s Marineland, so it isn’t the best quality, and I don’t want to use my time cleaning the tape-stripes off the front, so I tried to price it low. To be clear, this is only the stand, and no tank is included!
I only have the sponge filter and theres not a ton of waste so it does fine. I rarely need to do water changes, mostly top offs because i have a very planted established tank. I advise if you’re going to get puffers at different time, or add more in the future make sure you move everything around so theres no already established territories (and prevent fighting). To answer your question I dont know exactly what i keep my levels at, less than 20 for sure which is recommended. Keeping it heavily planted should help you keep the water in good condition and also make your fish happy. Oh and also, pea puffers prefer a soft substrate like sand possibly so they can lay on it, mine lay on the leaves of the plants and on the sand

Rimless tank? I have chihiros C2 light, like new open box Dm me if you are interested
I don't think that's a big enough jump to matter. I think the next step up price-wise would be an ONF Flat One+ for ~$400, which is a super nice light, I think second only to the ADA panels, but isn't any brighter than the Chihiros or Week. Price vs brightness, those two can't be beat. The equivalent output ADA is like $800-$900, but that's for what most people regard as the best light you can get, bar none.

One you've gotten rid of enough snails to prevent an ammonia spike, you can hit the tank with betel nut to kill all the rest of the snails, just watch ammonia levels. Buy an assassin to kill any stragglers after that and you should be snail free.

here are some breather bags for 50 cents each. I’ve used this brand and they’re good.
I bought this light via Amazon almost 3 months ago.
It worked great for my medium light planted 75g tank! I have since received an upgrade as a gift. It has a simple timer function, 4 light intensities and a seperate moonlight mode. Local pick up in Syracuse only.
This tank has been up and running for just under a year. It used to house cherry shrimp and 1 betta. Just doing some downsizing. This is the starter kit. As you can see it comes with everything you would need. I upgraded the light fixture to this bc the stock one was trash. The plants are four stems of diamond ludwigia, a small anubias mini, and of course the moss attached to the decoration. Everything for $50 obo. Pick up would be best but we could work something out.

Your best bet for a 10 gallon tank is going to be petco. They are $10 right now.
As for plants, This subreddit is the best for it. Lots of people sell starter packages regularly.
For a light, I would go with a Nicrew light from Amazon. The 10 gallon sized one would be about $15-20. Its a great light for the price.
For a heater I would stick with names brands. I personally only use Eheim heaters. They are very well made and not too expensive. For a 10 gallon you will only need a 50-100 watt one.
For filtration you can use a Hang on back filter or a sponge filter. My personal favorite for a smaller tank is a hang on back with a sponge on the intake. Also if you get a HOB filter ditch the filter media it comes with and just stuff a sponge and some filter floss in there. You can get a bag of pure polyester stuffing in the fabrics section of walmart for $4. It works amazing for filtering out particles. The sponge is good for holding bacteria because you will need to replace the wadd of filter floss(polyester) every month or so at least(one bag will last you at least 2 years at this rate).
Here is the nicrew light I mentioned. Its a great light.
Oh, thank you for these insights.
You sell plants too right? If I'm not mistaken. What would you sell me as a beginner? I got a few plants from petsmart yesterday since I got a few coupons to use. I got a some hairgrass, s repens and some anubias. Just about 1 pack each. I kinda want more.
Also, I do believe I got a pretty good light. I got this one from Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CMFFMS6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Amazon has it! I actually almost bought this for my 55 but was unsure of how it would look/how much space it would take up
Penn Plax Castle Aquarium Decoration Hand Painted With Realistic Details Over 14.5 Inches High Part B https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006JLTTQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_03LrBbXCCTSGW
I am thinking of buying this 12 inch glass planter to do a Walstad nano tank and house 1 shrimp.
Based on my calculations, it would be about 0.5 gallon when filled close to the rim. I'm thinking 1/8" soil, 1/4" sand, 1/2" java moss lawn, some rock and wood decor, and some rotunda in the background and likely will be growing up and out of the water. Do you think this would work? Not sure if the soil is too shallow to support.

Its just one of those cheap beginner regulator. It works pretty good tbh. Like yeah you don't have the extra stuff that comes with an expensive regulator but it was good enough for me to run my tank high tech
I just rescued this guy from a tank that was left at work due to COVID.
I don't have the ideal tank for it and am looking for someone with a large enough tank with soft substrate and hopefully a group of fellow cory catfish to join.
Available for pick-up pretty much whenever. Just DM me. The mollies in the photo are also available as well as an upside-down catfish that isn't shown.
Also, I have a few lights to giveaway as well:

I picked up this for emergency separation but needing the water to be heated circulated. Used it recently for the first time. Medium. I guess you could use it for shrimp. But, there'd be no biofilm. Here is the one I got. $12 something on Amazon.
Not sure if people are aware but Seiryu stone is available for pretty cheap on amazon at about $2/lb
Pisces 17 lb Seiryu Rock, Varies https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075SB9HRK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_qrrjFbX6CFKG9
I’ve bought 4 packs. Of the 4, 3 had a large piece plus mediums and smalls, 1 had only mediums and smalls. All 4 contained ~18lbs.
I’m pretty happy about them.

I got this one off amazon recently. Only been using it for about a week and a half on a 20lb tank but so far it’s working well for me. Only $50 new.

Since your local fish stores are limited, personally, I'd order off of Amazon. Something like 5 snails for $14.99 with free shipping. They could probably also facilitate custom orders.

Oops, forgot that part, $50.
I will post an actual pic sometime in the next week, I'm not sure when, dimensions are 12"*12"*12". Here's the link on Amazon:

This for my Co2 setup. I run 3 tanks off this one cylinder lasting about a month between charges.

I think that Seachem Kanaplex would be more helpful for the fin rot. It cured my fish in two treatments. Hope this helps!
