Even AT&T WatchTV which is there online skinny skinny bundle and uses a completely different app has the same look inside the app
Edit: I would be open to a new UI but I'm so afraid they will break the app with more bugs
You have to go to one of the apk mirror download sites and download the specific app for android tv that you are looking for. Just like it says above.
For example: https://www.apkmirror.com/?post_type=app_release&searchtype=apk&s=hulu
The subreddit is pretty much dead. I want to offload my grandfathered account since I don't really watch tv anymore, but I read that privacy.com payment doesn't work anymore so not even sure how you supposed to transfer accounts now without revealing your personal information.
Not sure, I’m an Apple TV guy. Quickly looked on the google tv website and it seems like the answers to your question is no, but you can double check. However you might be able to download each individual channel’s app and “login with your tv provider.”
Unfortunately, this seems to work for Android TV, but not for the new Google TV. I was able to sideload (I use my own method with the Downloader app) the latest version that's on that link (3.0.2402, released on 10/7) and at the end, I choose to open and I am able to log in. So far so good. Now, the app looks like one of the older versions, back when it was called AT&T TV Now or even DirecTV Now. And what's worse... the app doesn't show up in my app selection, meaning once I hit Home, I can't open it again. :(
I understand the frustration with side loading. If I may suggest this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yablio.sendfilestotv
Keep this app on all the TV's and when AT&T inevitably forces an update all you'll have to do is visit our living sticky for the new version. And use the above app.
Honestly if the update is available it doesn't take any longer then updating an app via the play store.... Okay maybe like 30 secs more because of a few more button clicks, but still not as hard as people imagine.
Not OP, but I am on Android and tried to use a location spoofer on my Galaxy S20 as well as logged into the same city using a NordVPN server -- I am in the Bay Area and am trying to see if I can access Los Angeles channels and locals, and despite closing the app a number of teams, clearing the app cache and memory, and logging out, I haven't been able to get the channels for the desired location.
If you are technologically sound, you can install a VPN like Windscribe or Hotspot Shield or NordVPN, change the server location to your desired location and watch it on your streaming television. I sometimes do this for watching different RSNs.
this is the one I bought from Amazon
I’m no way connected to the seller. I bought this one to force Osprey to detect my 4K HDR TV as 1080p TV. It finally works!
TV picture is finally watchable and no more washed out picture like forced HDR.
