The first book Sarah Ballantyne wrote has a ton of science but it’s less of a cook book. In fact it’s mostly about the AIP diet and lifestyle and the research she’s found to back it up. It’s a long book and goes deep into the immune system too.

Crystal Active on Amazon, liquid spray bottle and round cylinder stick. Amazing stuff!!!

You’re welcome! Here’s a better explanation of the potato trick https://lifehacker.com/microwave-potatoes-before-frying-for-perfect-texture-1768591330 that way you never end up with burnt outsides and raw insides. The texture doesn’t get as nice as white potatoes but it’s yummy and that’s what matters
I love this brand. It's not only compliant, but it (a) never separates and (b) comes in a really handy re-sealable carton unlike other compliant brands. Since I only use 1/3 c. at a time for my smoothies this was a game changer compared to trying to work from a can all week

I like the whole foods brand liquid melatonin. There's some debate about whether vegetable glycerine is aip, but there's only a few ingredients and everything else is aip, so you can always try and see if you react to it.
www.thecastawaykitchen.com - She has lots of AIP keto recipes. I know her cookbook, Made Whole, has loads of recipes that don't have any of the things that you mention. You can see a preview of the book on Amazon. She has an index in the back that marks which recipes are AIP, coconut free, seed free and egg free. I checked the book out at the library because I don't need another cookbook but it's such a good book that I ended up buying it.

Good luck! It's tough adjusting but worth the perseverance and it does get easier.
I have yet to make it, but there are many YouTube videos on making it. I have had very little luck finding cassava bread in stores. Here is an Amazon link. This is what I’ve been getting. I just toast it a bit and use it like toast. Soo good when you can’t have bread/crackers.
There is a considerable difference between brands and wet vs dry, just fyi. The first ones I tried I bought at WF and they were wet and thought they were okay. But then I found these in Amazon and they are almost like rice noodles to me. I like them better than the wet ones and better price than in the store.
I'm taking these prescribed by my naturopath. It's a D3 with K2
Vital Protein Collagen Peptides. It's flavorless and you can literally add it to anything with liquid. Load it into a smoothie. I also like to add in melted coconut oil mixed with carob powder. Adds a little extra fat and it's like little chocolate chips.
Just FYI, that is completely wrong. Leaky gut is a casual term given to a state of “increased intestinal permeability,” which is associated with IBS, IBD, Crohns, and several other conditions. Leaky gut is sort of an associated phenomenon, not necessarily a “condition” or “disease”; nevertheless it makes perfect sense to treat it, as it’s one part that we sort of understand in a set of complex medical problems that we don’t fully understand. It’s not even controversial in the medical community or in any scientific community. There are tons of studies done on it, what causes it, how we should treat it, etc. Here are two random links, one to the Mayo Clinic talking about intestinal permeability, and another to a U of Maryland medical school study on it.
I don’t know the full answer, but a processed diet usually has way more sodium than an AIP diet.
I love Salt Stick but they were so expensive. I started making this minus the sugar:
https://lifehacker.com/5170355/make-your-own-sports-drink
And using Salt Stick when I travel.

High vitamin d increases calcium absorption which can lead to hypercalcemia. I would suggest a maximum of 700mg of calcium per day. I am also gradually increasing my vitamin d dose as it is EXTREMELY helpful. But be careful, we are already sick you don't want to damage your kidneys as well. In addition to joining the group I would suggest reading this book:
Be safe.

I am allergic to corn. Corn starch is frequently in all solid pills, like aspirin. I get Goodys powders instead which have no additives. The unflavored ones. Any other pills I get from a compounding pharmacy, and supplements from reputable manufacturers.

I don't think its possible, and that's really frustrating for me because I was a pescatarian and moving in the direction of full vegetarian before I started AIP. I get most of my animal proteins from fish, and only the rare chicken.
You can get some protein from cricket flour. I haven't tried it yet, but it can be baked into bread or totrillas:
Cricket powder made of 100% Cricket (.22 lb) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OMCTODQ/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_NF30HFZKXJWZPDFM2X9V
Thanks for responding! I could try that. I bought the Autoimmune Meal Prep Cookbook by Sophie Van Tiggelen and she has 3 meals plus a snack that you batch cook every week. Each week is different, but for those 5 days you eat the same meals you prepped. If it’s not ideal I’m confused why one of the AIP bloggers lays it out this way. I’m just struggling to find an easy way to do this so I’m not always in the kitchen.
Baked Chicken Soup. Preheat oven to 350.
1 square Corningware dish.
4 boneless, skinless thighs (Whole or cut up)
1/2 onion chopped.
1/2c pre-packaged shredded carrots (or 2 carrots diced)
4 cloves garlic, minced (or grated)
1-- 48oz box chicken stock or bone broth (check ingredients, make sure there's no pepper).
1tsp Salt
Toss all in Corningware dish, place in oven for 1 hour.
For noodles: Use sweet potato "glass" noodles.
When serving, if wanted, give it a "pho" vibe and add chopped cilantro and a squeeze of 1/4 lime.
Explain more about what? I took D3K2 too. Up to 20 drops a day depending on how sunny it was outside and how much time I spent outside.
This book helped me a lot:
https://smile.amazon.de/-/en/Dr-Nicolai-Worm/dp/3868838880
But it's in German. I don't know any good English literature covering this subject.
I found this cookbook at a Costco, most of the recipes are very quick, easy, and delicious. For many of them it includes which ingredients to remove to make them AIP compatible.
https://www.amazon.com/Low-Carb-Yum-5-Ingredient-Keto/dp/0358237025/ref=sr_1_5?
I don’t think it’s officially AIP, and probably not cost effective is you need it a lot, but I use this face moisturizer on my hands and it’s pretty gentle. My skin isn’t super sensitive but if I use standard hand soaps they get dried out so I do react so some things.
CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion PM

FYI, Method dish soaps work well for me. So do the unscented Whole Foods generic foaming hand soap.
I was diagnosed with Hashimotos back in September and also started the AIP diet. This cookbook has been a godsend. It’s recipes tailored specifically for Hashimotos AIP and reduces the amount of cruciferous vegetables since they’re not great for Hashis.
For me, I noticed dairy was a huge trigger and have completely removed it from my diet. Also removed gluten which has helped with bloating
Try these which are a little expensive but made with coconut oil (and the bag is recycleable!)
Barnana Organic Plantain Chips - Himalayan Pink Salt - 5 Ounce - Barnana Salty, Crunchy, Thick Sliced Snack - Best Chip For Your Everyday Life - Cooked in Premium Coconut Oil https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078YDXVJT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_2CsVFb2JG8TPT
These are also different but good made with palm oil

I just discovered these plantain chips and they are good. I actually blended them up to a bread crumb consistency (only they're crunchy like chips) and made chicken fingers with them which was really tasty and a huge favorite of mine pre AIP.

I ear beef liver, salmon, and steak each at least once a week and I supplement with this sublingual B12 from Amazon. My B12 level was in the low 200s and 6 weeks later when I was tested again it was 750.
I'll add a picture tonight (can't post while at work). I have a little pouch I carry that contains balsamic vinegar, EVOO, honey, and sea salt. (thinking of adding lemon juice packets to it). This way, I ensure I have something for my salads, since every blasted salad dressing on the planet seems to have soy in it!
I bought these containers from Amazon, and they're great for travel and don't leak. My only (very minor) quibble is that when I squeeze to get balsamic or any liquid of that viscosity, I end up getting splashed. I take the squeeze top off and pour the vinegar instead. The oil and honey don't have that problem when using these.
I use this recipe from RealWorldAIP. It uses avocado, avocado oil, and carob. Avocados and avocado oil are easy to find at a grocery store, and you can order carob powder off of Amazon (I use this brand). They have a kind of chocolate-y cheesecake flavor, and they last a while in the freezer so it’s a good recipe to do in larger batches.
I discovered this aaamazing sauce (I don’t even like sauce normally so naturally I was impressed)
KC NATURAL primal cherry and mastodon Ordered on amazon
KC Natural - Paleo AIP Barbecue Sauce 14 oz, Combo Pack (Mastodon and Primal Cherry) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CYW9ZI4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_3a1pNSoHAyr8J
They are pretty expensive but worth it
Also I have discovered “seggiano artichoke and garlic sauce & spread”
I got this in the olive section at Whole Foods ..
:) hope you heal fast
I followed the book below exactly for a month. Started feeling better almost immediately and felt wonderful at end of month (also lost a LOT of weight - watch for that). It's not meant to be your permanent diet but just gives your gut time to heal. Started reintroducing foods after the first month to see what my stomach could tolerate and how I'd react. I'm still figuring it out and experimenting with reintroducing different foods (it's been 5 months). Still feel way better overall, I definitely have a list of things I know I can and cannot handle well.

"Low Carb Yum 5-Ingredient Keto" by Lisa MarcAurele mentions whether or not certain ingredients should be omitted for those on AIP in some of the recipes. Also the meals are super simple and involve really basic ingredients that you can get from any grocery store.
Not sure why no one is giving you the supplement guidance you requested but this is the sunflower derived, AIP-compliant vitamin e that I take: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00NBNAOOU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_0Z9uFbWJNMXCA
There is also a gelatin capsule version of this from the same brand, I chose the liquid version because I have SIBO issues and my doctor told me to avoid the glycerin that is in all gelatin capsules because that exacerbates SIBO.
I use KOS and I buy with Amazon Subscribe & Save coconut creamer
I make a 16-20oz mug of tea and usually put in 3 scoops. It can clump just a little but I break it up with the back of a spoon against the mug. I really like the taste. If I want more creaminess I either add more or pour in a little coconut milk.
Coconut milk is the only ingredient. I don't love that it comes in a plastic container because I can't recycle it where I live anymore.
My husband and I wanted one guide to stick to and we used this one.
We ended up buying it, but our local library had it. I checked out lots of aip books/cookbooks and chose the one that seemed the most straightforward and simplest to follow.
The Autoimmune Protocol Made Simple Cookbook: Start Healing Your Body and Reversing Chronic Illness Today with 100 Delicious Recipes https://www.amazon.com/dp/1592338178/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_KEGRDbW6WZESG

This bread mix is AIP by itself. The cooking instructions call for eggs and cheese for the original bread recipe. You could omit the cheese and substitute gelatin eggs. It might be a good mix to start sourdough experimenting. I can usually find individual boxes at my local grocery store near the alternative flours section in the baking isle. I’m in the US.
https://www.amazon.com/NOW-Sports-Beef-Broth-1-2-Pound/dp/B076L2P9Y8
That’s what I use. Mainly because it’s cheap, but the ingredients appear to be very simple and no additives for flavor, color, or texture. Beware it does taste like shit. It tastes almost like nothing if you mix it right. I know it’s a low sugar diet but the coconut milk I have has about 7G per serving. I allow it so I can consume the protein shakes I need to keep from losing any more weight.
I have tried SO MANY probiotics over the years, easily dozens (mostly before AIP.) This is the only one I would recommend after all those, it is the very best: Mary Ruth’s liquid probiotics with enzymes I try to regulate my diet with food now, as I is recommended on AIP, but I know if I’m having any digestive troubles I can take Mary Ruth’s and it helps within 24 hours. I wouldn’t take antibiotics without it.
I hope you find what works for you and feel better soon ❤️
There should absolutely not be different protocols, that's pretty frustrating that you've found so many options, makes it really hard to know who to trust.
This is the blog of the doctor who wrote the AIP Bible https://www.thepaleomom.com/start-here/the-autoimmune-protocol/
Here is her book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1936608391/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_OADCBb8SHX85R
This is my source of truth and is the best place to start imo.
Pork sausage I would be cautious of because there could be "natural flavors" or non compliant spices.
If you’re not taking it already, try
Natural Vitality Natural Calm Diet Supplement, Raspberry Lemon, 16 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BPUY3W0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Y1X-AbRET8SY7
I have bad constipation too, and if I take 2.5 - 3 teaspoons in 8oz of water 2x a day it helps. Added bonus is it tastes great and you’re getting magnesium.
I also find eating cooked spinach regularly helps loosen stool.
congrats on your progress!!
if you are looking to spend some money to make life a little easier, grab an instant pot! there are quite a few AIP recipes where you basically just dump everything inside and set it to cook. there is also an older model without the yogurt function that's $90 (i keep telling myself i'm going to make my own coconut yogurt but it has yet to happen, lol).
This recipe is a current favorite of mine. Super easy plus BBQ!!!
