I think I am creating the kind of music you are talking about, At least I am told a lot that my music sounds like soundtrack music. Bandlab is truly amaining for networking, sharing, posting music before you release it, and collabs. What I use is a combination of multiple VST instruments, sample machines, and effects. Band lab has great built-in loops in their web app but Cakewalk is the main DAW I use.
Native Instruments, Arcade by Output, and plugins I found on Splice are what I use. Tons of great strings and cinematic sound options that can all be played with a midi keyboard or just a qwerty keyboard without having to conduct a full orchestra full of people.
Anything you do in Bandlab can be pulled from or to Cakewalk too.
This is my profile if you want to see if that's what you are going for with your music.

You might be able to accomplish something similar with a hard tremolo, or if you're talking about repeated noises, a short delay that you automate on and off (not sure if device automation is possible in blab) I made an example project
Cakewalk by Bandlab is a free, downloadable DAW. It's what I use to do full band tracking. Comes with some drums and some synths. Not a ton, but what's there is usable.
I don't know the web version, so I can't say it's the 'same' as what you're currently using. But if you want to work on PC, it's a really good option.
I can definitely hop on this. Send it to me if you want

If you are using it on a PC I highly recommend installing Cakewalk Its the DAW Bandlab offers for free. It's actually pretty nuts that it is free. I probably would not have bought Studio One Pro if I knew about Cakewalk. Because it is made by Bandlab you can access your projects on there. All of the samples and loops from the site / app are also on that software.
If you use that you can be recording everything locally even if your internet is out. I'm not trying to sound like a fan boy too much (too late) but it's pretty crazy how much is in there for a DAW they are giving for free.
May I suggest you subscribe to the lefsetz report. Guy knows more about the music than just about anybody.
His post today is 100 times better than anything I could add to your original post. He has a podcast as well.

Here's the bandlab link. Audio went weird on OBS, but that could be because my computer is a literal potato.

You'll get better all the time it's chill just have fun. Peep this one. I did everything from scratch on a cell phone with no midi controller or anything. Haha proud of that shit. https://www.bandlab.com/join/x3mgduh
Thank you I really appreciate you fr, the better mixed/mastered of this is out on my bandlab! @saroya11 or ->
I recently made this. Similar style to what your going for. See what you think. If you hate it then disregard my advice. There's even a few different vocal tracks on this one and I used a different approach for each one. https://www.bandlab.com/revisions/cdf856c5-ff18-ec11-981f-a04a5e798978?sharedKey=2nuUKgLS1EqebJMmjtppxg
You need a TRRS adaptor and then plug the mic you want
Something else you could try is downloading ASIO4ALL driver and use that to control the buffer settings. It may help to use a different driver for your existing hardware and interface

I'm not entirely sure what you mean... I used this specific preset on a free track in the industrial pack. There's some clipping with a regular bass guitar, but that can easily be adjusted out. If I'm being honest, analogue processing gives better sound than digital on both bass and guitar recordings, but if you have to use digital this is a good place to start
And as for a sample, listen to this one. The bass (beginning instrument in this song) already had some processing, but this made it REALLY grindy and awesome.

Whatever works bro! Here’s my take. I’m happy with it and can use it for reference later on a client project or something. I did it on my lunch break so it’s short, simple and I feel some Gorillaz influence on it. It’s not about writing a hit song but stretching your creative muscles and being able to make something fun and on the spot, kind of like how a chef whips up a dish.
I don't know what portamento is but to get the synth sound I would add some reverb and a tiny bit of overdrive on the synth. Funny enough I made a remix for Astronomia on Bandlab, check it out. Astronomia (Honest Remix)
Great atmosphere. I like the overall sound. The drum beat could use a little work, put some effects on it and EQ the highs down. Maybe a little reverb on the piano too.
I finished a song today too, what do you think?

Hey! Unfortunately, you can only use these two channels for multi-track recording. This is a browser security limitation which we can't change at this point in time.
If you're on a Windows computer and are looking for a software with more freedom, try out our desktop DAW Cakewalk by BandLab:
https://www.bandlab.com/products/cakewalk
The active input is determined by the operating system, which automatically detects the presence of the headset mic and - if one is found - uses that one instead of the phone mic. In general, apps don't have a say in this, unfortunately. But you can try a few things:
To move an it to the second half you will have to click at the top right where it says snap. This will make it so it won't snap to a certain region. Sadly this is the only way, and it will require you to place it yourself.
There is no option to zoom, but if you click on the snap tab at the top right you can trim it to the limit.
You can not fade a midi track, but you can fade a audio track. To do this you will have to go out of that screen to the mixer on the left side of the screen. Click on the three dots on the channel you want to fade. Press download. It will have multiple options on what to save it on. I use an app called Audio Media Converter it's pretty easy to figure out. If you need help dm me. Then from there you will go back to Bandlab and import the audio file you just saved. Then you will tap on your track and tap on the option "fades." Then drag the scroller from the bottom of the screen to wherever you need it. If you need more help Eumonik describes it well in This Video
If you have an other questions let me know!
