I have dimmers on all my heat lamps and havent had an issue yet with any type of failure. These are the dimmers I use for mine.

This is what I use, the hood fixture: https://www.chewy.com/zoo-med-reptisun-t5-ho-high-output/dp/257664 and the bulb replacement: https://www.chewy.com/zoo-med-reptisun-100-uvb-t5-ho/dp/257675
They do come in different lengths depending on how long your tank is, but if you are planning to upgrade to the 4x2x2 enclosure it makes sense to get the 24 inch tube. Place it diagonally as off to one side as you can, next to the basking light. I put mine on a timer to make sure he's getting 12 hours per day.
Oh does your beardie have a hide? That's also important so he can get away from the UVB all together if he wants to.
Here is what most people use (Because it needs to be a strip not just one bulb), and mine go in a hood above the tank.

We bought this book off Amazon when we got our baby beardie. My daughter, who is 9 yrs old, loves it and has found it very informative.
Our beardie is fed twice a day, breakfast and dinner. He eats at 8am and 5:00pm. These are his cricket feeding times. He also gets fresh greens twice a day (9am and 6pm). I work from home so we follow a pretty strict routine, including a bed time and wake up schedule. However, I spoke to a vet before setting up a schedule. I highly recommend reaching out to a vet!!
Congrats on your soon to be beardie!! I hope you enjoy having him/her as a pet 😊
Oh, I wouldn’t recommend using that.. go with a Day White Basking bulb.. like this
Like I mentioned, my bulb hood has a dimmer switch.. so I’m not sure but maybe the 100w will work perfectly.. but to be honest, I’d recommend getting the hood with dimmer. Something like this . So much easier to manage heat levels as the temps in house change periodically, based on weather.
It will be dead in a couple weeks, Lighting is all wrong. https://www.amazon.com/LUCKY-HERP-Mercury-Self-Ballasted-Amphibian/dp/B0778F753P/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=mercury+vapor+bulb&qid=1620679642&sr=8-10
I bought this: Ge light removed the plastic difuser and regular bulb and instaled the UV bulb, and it works... this is the cheapest fixture I was able to find at the time
Are you feeding him in his enclosure or in a whole separate container?
Is he showing interest or just ignoring them all together?
I had some issues with my guy when I first got him. I was doing a separate container and it ended up being too much stress. I tried in his enclosure but he wasn’t quick enough to catch the Dubia’s before they crawl away and won’t eat from tweezers. I ended up getting one of these plastic plates and worked like a charm. He had time to check out the Dubia and eat it without it escaping into the enclosure.
Also you can find them so much cheaper at your local hardware store
Something like this, you want it decently long.

I used a really long under the bed one and cleaned it before storing. My beardie got baths every other day. He was super healthy and friendly with me and I think that played a huge part. He liked playing peekaboo in the bath.
Tubs can be really scary to some of them, I switched when I noticed he wasn't always that calm about the bath tub and it worked great! The one I used was for under the bed storage and I think I got it from Walmart.
Make sure you wash the plastic out with a vinegar solution before putting your beardie in it because plastic manufacturers leave toxic residue. Bonus link:
