OP, despite what some other commenters have said, you absolutely should take into account your neighbors personality and attitudes before you proceed - we have instincts for a reason. From what you've said, I would say you 100% need to stay on their good side. Perhaps get the dents repaired yourself and invest in some sort of side protection for your car.
Maybe something like this: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00F2ECLV0
Big V8 with lots of power (who cares about mpg you're doing so few miles), rare, will hold value, reliable and cheap to fix. What's not to love.
You got a link for the Tiketak? My permit holder pouch is useless and keeps peeling off when the sun comes out :(
edit: scratch that - just found it as soon as I posted lol

The best way to not get it dirty is to avoid eating in it. New denim also leave a stain. None are too difficult to get off. I use another product of the same brand to condition the leather after cleaning.
It's never guaranteed, but those removers do work. If your nuts are torqued correctly it should be quite easy. If someone's duga'd them on with an impact gun it can be more tricky.
I've only used the spiral type though:
If you have an older car with lots of rusty and seized bolts then this is a beautiful addition to your tool box. Got many a bolt out of my Datsun with this.

If the car comes with an aux port you can just plug in a bluetooth receiver into the aux.

Interesting to hear your experience. As for me I've owned it now for about 3 months and can't report on an static, I get more static interference from normal radio stations. A couple of annoying things I've noticed though is that especially with my car I have to tune the radio to the frequency each time I use but I think that's just my car not able to save stations properly. Another thing is thar the volume is turned down really low, I have to turn the media volume to the top on my phone and even then I have to turn the car volume up by double what I usually have it on. If you can get past that it's well with the money. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cocoda-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Wireless-Hands-Free-Black/dp/B07MV4G976/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=30AQOKA5AG2BW&keywords=radio+transmitter+car+bluetooth&qid=1639155241&sprefix=radio%2Caps%2C102&sr=8-3

Honda Civic 1.4. Anywhere from 98 (getting a bit old and rusty now) to 2005 were bulletproof. some had really nice accessory packs too - elec windows, sunroof, mirrors, central locking etc. You'd get a corker for £1k and something absolutely mint for £1.5k. e.g.

You didn't specify engine but I use this for my MK5 GTI
Recommended on all the GTI forums and you can feel the difference.
Btw 120k isn't that high milage they go to 300k+ no problems
I'd just say watch plenty of Youtube videos and then take your time.
Agree with u/Majillionaire that you should check the filter will come off first. From a quick glance it looks like different types of removal toolwill work. Strap ones are probably cheapest.
I prefer the pliers type (or these if there is no room to get to the sides).
Other than that just make sure you jack the car up safely and use jack stands. I'd also advise disposable gloves for changing fluids. Plus some rags of paper towels for when you make a mess. Putting some cardboard down can also stop you staining your driveway.
Don't overtighten when you put the new filter on either. Hand tight is fine. Future you will thank you.
I also like to change any crush washers on the sump plug. But you can usually get a few uses out of them. They should only cost a few pennies.
Also have a plan to get rid of the old oil (taking to the tip, paying a garage to dispose of it for you etc).
I used to use one of these - https://www.amazon.co.uk/FirstE-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Adapter-Handsfree-HK203update/dp/B07BF52BY7/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=FirstE+Bluetooth+FM+Transmitter&qid=1625480158&sr=8-3
It went as loud as my speakers would handle. Volume was never an issue.
I'd probably call it the mount.
So like this, but for the 412GW
You would need to check it came with the cable to connect to the cigarette lighter or to hard wire it in.
I wouldn't worry too much. As u/Black_Sky_Thinking says just make sure it's up to date with servicing. If it's due anything (look in the manual and any documents that came with the car) then you want to get that done anyway.
Otherwise there are some good steps you can take before a longer trip. Make sure the tires have plenty of tread and have the right amount of air in them. Legally the tread should at least cover the edge of a 20p coin.
Do the same with the spare. If there isn't one make sure it has some alternative. Or buy something for emergencies. Personally I like to take a foot pump. Or carry a kit with you for emergencies.
Make sure the screenwash is full and all the fluids (oil, coolant etc - All the stuff from the show me/tell me part of your test really) are at the right level. Make sure your phone is charged for emergencies etc.
You could also sign up for a breakdown service in advance. I'm sure you can probably cancel within 14 days if you don't want to pay for it permanently.
There's nothing special about a longer journey really. So I wouldn't panic.
You could take to a garage, but all they will really be able to do is have a poke about and perform all the basic checks you should be doing on your car anyway.
Get a car play/Android auto head unit. Bang up to date in one go.
If this is out of budget, I wouldn't go for a windscreen mount... They're a bit shit and tend to fall off at very inconvenient times.
Best cheap option is https://www.amazon.co.uk/YOSH-Magnetic-Cellphones-Samsung-Blackview-Black/dp/B01JG7ZMIW/
Next level up is https://www.brodit.co.uk/
They do charging mounts which is convenient.
The main methods are using a "memory saver" (ie https://www.amazon.co.uk/Carpoint-CPT0635870-Computer-Memory-Saver/dp/B0044DDOQG/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Car+memory+saver&qid=1599210519&sr=8-3) or just connecting a battery to the terminals with clips while you take the old one out.
My google-fu suggests a “bumper quick release kit” https://www.amazon.com/iJDMTOY-Universal-Silver-Release-Fastener/dp/B00KMBZAC0/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?dchild=1&keywords=password+jdm&qid=1597560740&sr=8-12
I have a Henry hoover and use the wide brush for the footwells, mats and seats and have one of these for the bits between the seats and vents etc. It's very good.
They may have used a pump air bag wedge like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07RVJ1LF3/ref=cm_sw_r_api_i_J4PB3RS8RCH1H5FNY4SF_0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 you put that between the door frame and the car and can get enough of a gap to put in a metal rod and pull a handle.
I managed to lock myself out of my car when out a few years ago and the AA chap did that and got in my car in about 2 mins, no damage done.
Hope this is a joke, anyone saying its fine should be ashamed of themselves with the current DVLA queues for tests. I would see if you could move the test back a couple of weeks and get a decent mirror.
I would recommend this at minimum https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sumex-2808460-XL-Superpanoramic-Mirror/dp/B001JYASRG
Cobalt ones.
You can also get left-hand bits. So as they drill in they can sometimes be enough to unscrew the bolt if they're not seized, but the head snapped off. You can get them with screw extractors.
Not a recommendation, just the first result I got:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Extractor-Damaged-Remover-Durable-Include/dp/B09CHGGL7X
Must be water somewhere in the car ? No damp carpets ?
I'd try a dehumidifier overnight to see if that soaks up stuff.

If you do have AC then go and get it regassed.
And check your windscreen surround - have the drainage holes been clogged with leaf debris ? I know that is a classic on the minis and then the water comes into the cockpit.
Check to see if there is water trapped in the car, like the spare wheel well. If water is there then it's just going to keep condensing.
If you've got a dehumidifier small enough to fit the car then use it. If not, this is supposed to be good if you're on a budget: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Moisture-ultra-absorbent-dehumidifier-condensation-refillable/dp/B00F1DNYPE
My Peugeot 107 has water ingress, I've got two Pingu bean bags (or whatever they're called) and I can't say they've kept the windscreen from condensing. But it's not making it worse either.
That's why you pay the RAC/AA or similar to inspect pre-purchase.
That said, I've never actually done that and despite not being a particularly good car mechanic I do the inspection myself using the RAC checklist.
Really it comes down to
Does the car drive nicely
Are there odd sounds
What's the service history like
Are there combustion byproducts in the coolant (you bring a tester kit with you)
What does vcheck or other vehicle check service say
Are there weird panel gaps
Does this private seller seem legit
Does it go through all gears nicely and does the clutch feel normal
Does it have shitty mismatched tyres
What's the milage, when was the last service, when's the next service and what needs doing on it. i.e. if you're buying a car which needs a new cambelt in 4K miles then that needs to be reflected in the price
Finally - cars are boring commodity items. Don't go out with your heart set on buying a certain car in a specific trim. Go out with the intention of buying something in a certain size, age, value and find the best thing available.
It depends on the car - a more modern car with many mod cons and that relies on the battery more (i.e. central locking) will be more sensitive to being left for long periods of time. My 'dumb' Peugeot 107 has nothing fancy - no alarm, central locking or power windows, and it usually sits for around 6 weeks between trips (which are always 100+ mile road trips - as with you, I just walk or cycle everywhere for the most part.). But I imagine if there was more power sapping tech, 6 weeks would be a bit much.
If you're concerned, and you car is compatible, you can get a solar trickle charger that plugs into the 12v port: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Portable-Waterproof-Maintainer-Amorphous-Motorcycle/dp/B07F9RNM1D/ref=sr\_1\_7?keywords=Solar+Trickle+Charger&qid=1669030769&quartzVehicle=29-405&replacementKeywords=solar+trickle&sr=8-7
Here's what I do:
Should make a big improvement from a few paces. Don't expect miracles. You will see the areas you're touched up. Only a respray will be seamless really.
Hey, thank you for the reply.
Yes, I will replace them as they are three years old now. But for future reference, would any glass cleaner do or should I get something specific for windscreens? Would something like this do?
Thanks.
Maybe chance, but I've had much better luck with Goo Gone than that stuff. Really good for getting off number plate adhesives etc. But dearer. There is a spray, but I find that gets everyone and you go through it faster.
Plastic razors are also great if you're near paintwork. Razor holders too.
Are you talking about bulbs? If you are I can recommend Bosch Gigalight bulbs fitted them to my previous car and they completely transformed my lights they were almost as good as xenons.
No idea about Fords but looks like a Rocker Cover and breather pipe/hose that's cabled tied to it.
Something like this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Transit-Parts-Rocker-Camshaft-Fiesta/dp/B07QKZ2BXD
Amazed your mechanic couldn't have just told you this.
I bought this for £100 a week or two ago, haven't got around to installing yet, but it's £10 cheaper right now for prime members(if you're not a prime member its cheaper to buy a months membership than to pay the non-member price anyway).
I also got the Nextbase hardwiring kit for £20 and some high endurance SD card that I can't remember the specs and price of.
Check if your car has an interior fuse box (e.g. behind glove box) because that seems to make hardwiring much easier.
I bought this one but it's no longer available but you get the idea. Cheap and not nasty. It's the type the Jaguar forum recommends.
This is what I use.
Meguiar's ultimate interior detailer for the dash and plastic parts of the door.
Autoglym leather care balm to condition the seats after wiping down with a soapy cloth.
I just wipe the steering wheel down with a cloth soaked in soapy water.
The Prius is pretty reliable. Consumer Reports in America found that they hold up well after over 200,000 miles so don't be alarmed by all the high-milers you find for sale. I'd also recommend the Verso.
My parents have owned a lot of Toyotas over the years, at least two of which were Corollas, and they would swear by any Japanese car.

This just literally beeps once for on, again for connection then beeps when turning off.
Use it around 5-6 hours a week before needing a charge but charges in around 15 mins.
I got this a few months back. Easily the best quality 3.5mm to Bluetooth receiver I've used. Works great for media (it has a mic, Ive not used it cause it's in the glovebox)
PALOVUE aptX Bluetooth 5.0... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08F74CFM7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I had this Anker one which was great, it even has buttons for skipping tracks etc.
Amazon says discontinued but you might find one somewhere.
Thank you, but I already purchased this one (and I didn't know there was a version with a switch on) - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07KZGM9LS/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o00\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You used to be able to buy wiper blade rubber on a big spool that you cut off a length and slide it onto the wiper spreader bits (or whatever they're called).
Was common for companies with fleet vehicles.
A bit like this but on a cable drum type thing (can't find any examples tho).
Before it went bust in early 2000s my parent's haulage firm used to have a bunch of lorries and this was how the wipers were replaced. For about my first 10 years after passing my test I'd always just sneak into the yard and nick a couple lengths and replace the rubbers myself.
No idea why this is less of a thing nowadays. Normally it's only the rubber part that fails not the entire wiper assembly.
It would be a lovely car to drive to various campsites. Much more refined than a modified Transporter or Ducato.
One thing I’d question about camping is the insulation. Those are really big windows so it could get cold in there.
Years and years ago, my parents had a Renault 21 Savanna. I took it to a festival with an air bed and sleeping bag. It was the coldest weekend of my life.
Most campers have insulation between the exterior panel and inner wall. Ambulances also have that, which is why so many people convert them.
Have a think about it, I’m sure you can find a solution. It might be as simple as bringing one of these , a kettle, and a hot water bottle.
Best of luck, come back and show us some photos.
Nah unfortunately this one only helps with speed and traffic light cameras. I can't vouch for others but a quick search for "dash cam with speed limit display" came up with this. I'm sure you've thought of this but be aware none of these are 100% accurate all the time, unless you get a fancy one that reads signs like some newer cars come equipped with.
Fixed - found a replacement connector via Farnell: https://uk.farnell.com/amp-te-connectivity/1241634-1/automotive-housing-receptacle/dp/3394586
The soldering was a bit beyond me but luckily could call on a mate with that particular skillset. Needed a couple more pins to hold wires in place but he was onto that, and hey presto we have a functioning boot again!
Hopefully this is helpful to anyone who has a similar issue down the line.
Aha i can help out there with a nice bargain, tried and tested by myself it works really well. Spray on, leave 5 mins and blast off

Decent unit, the only thing I miss is a physical volume button.
Once you figure it out, it's fairly easy to navigate.
I have it in a 2009 mk2 audi tt, makes the car feel like something I'll be keeping for a while as it ticks all the boxes now. Also put a revering camera with it, so it shows on the screen.
3m restoration kit used this on my Volvo over one year ago and they still look like new. After I had polished my headlights I went over them with a ceramic coat to keep them looking like new.
Another good resource for this kind of driving is the Police Roadcraft manual, which is what all emergency response driving in the UK is based on. It's very readable, with a lot of practical advice for how to actually use this system while driving.
What about those eyelashes? And what about a powered by fairy dust sticker?
Asking for a friend.
People here are saying it's "worthless" however I disagree with them. Will you be gaining much (if any at all) of a performance increase with this in your car? The answer to that is obviously no, it's a 1.0 Fiesta at the end of the day. The biggest difference it will make will be the sound when you put your foot down - for many people this is the main reason they bothered putting one in whilst knowing it wasn't going to do much to improve their car's performance. Putting your own in can be a great way of starting out as a car hobbyist, everybody starts somewhere and it's very easy for any first timer. What I will say is that if you are only driving a 1.0L ecoboost then there's no reason to spend a small fortune on an induction kit when there are perfectly suitable ones on amazon for £30 (yes, they work!)
I depend on the exact machine and also how busy it is.
I tend to go to mine at night when it's deserted. Then I can bring a bucket and wash mitt.
With mine I spray the wheels with wheel cleaner, use the Rinse setting to fill the bucket, then Rinse the car (not wheels), Snow Foam, clean the wheels with a brush, Rinse, wash with bucket and my own shampoo, them Rinse.
Then I spray some of this on as I'm towelling off the car.
If it's busier and I just want a quick wash I spray and clean the wheels while I'm waiting and the person before me is finishing up. Then drive in. Rinse car and wheels. Snow foam and clean the car using the snow-foam using a mitt. Then rinse. Then drive out, park up and was and dry using the same method.
It's already here:
https://www.bmw.co.uk/en/shop/ls/dp/Seat_Heating_SFA_gb
And yes. For the subscription stuff I assume they'll spec to all cars and unlock by subscription.
I use this Phone Holder for my Pixel 6 Pro
I can't find the USB power I bought at the same time, but it handles my Waze demands with ease
It's not fancy, it's never dropped my phone, (I've tried) and it sticks to the Air vents. It can be rotated for landscape if your vents don't spin.
Not great in the winter when blowing heat, but during the summer it also keeps the phone cool.
You can buy an Irwin nut remover kit either this one or the expansion set depending on size. I had to when I lost my key socket on my Jag (with the expansion set) which was built when Ford owner Jaguar. They really work.
I tried the idea of smashing an undersized socket on and it just slipped off, I tried another left hand thread device that failed to bite but this Irwin thing I tapped on to start it off and then hauled on my breaker bar and was amazed it just came off. I did all four locking nuts and threw the little swine in the bin.
Bear in mind the extractor needs to able to get in the hole in the wheel rim. The Irwin set is quite slim.
I use this Belkin one and it’s never come off, even in the cold and the heat:
For a single car get yourself a Brodit Proclip mount. It comes in two parts...a mount base that is custom made to fit to your car with no need for screws and they usually have three or four locations, a holder for your phone that screws onto that base. They will not move at all.
If you're wanting one to take from vehicle to vehicle then this MPOW holder is the puppy to have. That fucker ain't coming off in a hurry, in fact it's probably too good at staying attached. Even though I never bother cleaning the suction cup so it's just basically dull and covered in dust from being in my work bag when I put it on my lorry windscreen the other night I had to use my car key to slide between the cup and windscreen so I could prise it off the windscreen.
If your car still smells like an ashtray, try this odour bomb. When I bough my C1 the previous owner must have been a smoker. As a former smoker myself the smell made me reek violently.
Used one of that (follow the instructins by the letter!) and the smell was just gone afterwards. The car smelled like a swimming pool for a couple of weeks, but it wasn't anything offensive or too strong, a million times better than the lingering smell of old cigarettes.
Just need a bucket, microfibre or lambs wool mitt (definitely not a sponge), some decent shampoo such as Autoglym PS001 Pure Shampoo, 1 Litre https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01CZUYGY8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Use a separate mitt for wheels, a basic wheel brush or micro fibre mitt. Spray them first then wash. Then empty bucket ready for main body wash.
Spray car down first, top to bottom. Wash car top to bottom. I wash roof and front rear screens first. Then spray off. Then each side and spray off. Then front, spray, then back and spray rinse again.
Then that a good basic job. Can let it air dry. If you want the next stage then can dry it with a decent towel. Then you can use glass cleaner etc etc etc.
But for basics it’s bucket, nice shampoo and decent mitt. Separate mitt for wheels to be done first. Fresh water for body of car. Wash top down section by section and then rinse.
I have found that any bit with some cobalt in it is far more durable than HSS bits. Not much more expensive. I was drilling holes in some thin wall tube and blunted off three HSS bits in quick succession. Bought a set of ten cobalt bits and each one happily did 15 holes.
Might be able to get one of those under seat subwoofers for cars? Not entirely sure how to wire them in - probably a pain to sort.
Think your best bet could be talking to a BMW specialist.
Seen these on Amazon for a while. Not sure how good they are. Could be crap for all i know.

Sorry I meant I have an aux to Bluetooth adaptor :)
I got this one, USB powered and it connects to the phone when it powers up. Turns off when the usb power is removed, no batteries. The only quirk is the USB port in the jag is powered on/off with the door lock so if you unlock it from too far away the phone won’t connect but that’s easy to avoid

I have an aux bluetooth adaptor in my car and it’s great.
Just press the button and it’s on and connected to your phone - hard wires are worse sound quality as well.
I ended up with this one due to size - Bluetooth 5.0 Receiver, MaedHawk Bluetooth Aux Adapter/Portable Wireless Audio Car Kit (A2DP, Built in Microphone, Dual Link) with 3.5mm Jack for Home Music Streaming Stereo,Headphones,Speakers https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B086VZQG55/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_5V5T04G5RZSCHZBR6XD1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
That's really helpful of you! I appreciate it. :)
I used an app called Sound Meter - not sure if it's also on the App Store though if you're on iPhone. They're probably not the most accurate things anyway, but it's nice to have a rough idea. I just kinda held it around near my head a bit.
My tinnitus is hopefully temporary, but it's taught me now to look after my hearing a bit more. Even if it does go away, cabin noise levels are something I'm going to check from now on during test rides.
I have the same car (Citroen C1). Wiring a new switch is not the problem, the problem is the space for the new switch itself. Forget it on the driver's door, you might be able to cut a hole on the dashboard near the aircon button or where you can find the space, and fit a 3 positions momentary rocker switch just like this.
Wiring shouldn't be hard, you just need to extend the passenger side cables all the way to the new switch.
Looking at the picture, I suspect that the car is a Peugeot, and this worked well on my son's 207 a few years back when he had a similar problem (they have lots of variants where the notches are in different positions)..
Great recommendation, thanks! Bought this module for £35, which will seemingly work with the Honda too. Even with the cost of the Bimmercode app it's still cheaper than most of the other solutions out there.
I'd also recommend picking up Roadcraft, the police driver's handbook. While it's aimed at emergency response drivers, it's completely applicable to every day driving and goes in-depth about how to approach driving and think about decisions. It's very readable.
Just get the cheapest, best reviewed one off amazon, not something worth a trip to a shop for they’re all the same. I got one for something like £9 5 years ago and it’s still perfect
Had a quick look for you and this is the cheapest, best reviewed one, just order it and you’ll be sorted: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07BF52BY7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_dl_E2FSQCB86K7JJFX3B7VM
Yeah I’ve got for a dual setup. I’ve not hardwired nor have I linked it up the brake light as some people do as I have a reversing camera etc.
I’m fortunate to have a 12v in the boot (I was shocked when I found it) so I wire it all back to there. Keeps things much tidier whilst not hardwiring (I’m not quite there yet in terms of messing with stuff). I drive a civic though so the position of the rear camera inside the vehicle is a nightmare because of the weird rear window setup. I went for this.
I actually had a much nicer wedge shaped dashcam similar to this which was great as it fit so nicely against the glass meaning no reflections etc. But I stupidly left it in the car when part exchanging because I was worried removing it would leave residue all over the window and they’d knock the price down. They didn’t even look at my car, having already inspected it a week before. Hindsight is 20:20!
The best value for a trolley jack is those one off Amazon: Sakura 2 Tonne Hydraulic Trolley Jack For Cars And Other Vehicles SS5191 – Lifting Range 135 x 335mm – TUV/GS Approved https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00EC83X1Y/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_T59T7AD0QDP2J9ZJJCZB
Try an odour bomb. It releases a clorinated gas over the course of a few hours, and you have to leave it in the car with the air recirculation on. Your car will smell like a swinìmming pool for a few days but it's way better than poo smell.
It got rid of cigarette smoke from my C1, the previous owner must have been a smoker.

I got this exact set a few years ago and it's amazing. Depends on how much you wanna spend, but it's on a discount at 133 quid at the moment. It has everything you want in terms of sockets, bits, spanners etc.
I have a couple of Noco 2A charger/conditioners.
This one although I think I paid £35 ea for mine. They're designed to mount permanently to the vehicle.
They also do a 1A version which is a bit cheaper and is fine for car batteries. I got the 2A version as one is on a forklift which has a 110A battery, other is on a mini digger ...both are tools that get used a handful of times a year but are handy to have about the farm.
Honestly though if you aren't looking to charge a battery from flat then the amps don't really matter and 1A will be fine. If you ever intend to charge flat batteries or recondition damaged ones then you really want a charger rather than a conditioner. For those I'd want something 5 amps minimum.
NB. I also have some Ctek kit. Anything by Ctek or NOCO will probably see you right.
Ring used to be good but their quality has tanked in recent years and I've had a couple of their chargers fail, so I'd avoid those.
If you only want Bluetooth and cheap you can try one of these or similar
Deal: FM Transmitter, Clydek Bluetooth FM Transmitter Radio Adapter Audio Receiver Stereo Music Tuner Car Kit with Dual USB 2.4A Charger, Remote Control [1.8 Inch Large Screen] https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07R4W7C9J/
I used this but wouldn’t recommend it by less you want/need the wifi function. The actual camera is excellent and I’d just say get the same brand but they do one for £44.99 (under £40 with todays vouchers) without wifi.
If you scroll down on the page there’s some perfect diagrams that should help
Thank you again. Looked up my VIN and it says 300 - probably going to go for this BMW Genuine Touch Up Paint Stick Set 300 Alpine White 51910301918 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008R6LKLW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_6QQ88BMGP9HPASH0VA15
What about this?
Not much mot on it but you could discuss them taking it for an MOT now and if it passes then you'd pay for the MOT
The money you save would pay for minor work that may need doing
Thank you so much for your detailed advice! So do you think its a red flag when ALL MOTs have been passed, like this Honda jazz? https://www.gumtree.com/p/honda/honda-jazz-1.4i-dsi-sr-cvt-7-se-automatic-2-owner-full-service-history/1420137742
Audi A5 I have a 3.0 tdi, motorway miles, can get 45mpg+ and is Uber comfy. A little bit of a dinosaur nowadays, but the V6 diesel revs low. Great value for the amount of car you get.
Won't be sexy or fun, but maybe a Toyota Corolla with FSH (always check this really is full history)
https://www.gumtree.com/p/toyota/toyota-corolla-hatchback-2004-manual-1995-cc-5-doors/1423343543
Couldn't check the MOT history with those number plates though. Maybe an NI thing.
50 miles a day makes a diesel worth considering. My neighbour had a petrol one and it was pretty bombproof.
Brace yourself for smarmy comments!
3 ways of handing it. Lower the seatbelt on the adjuster on the pillar - assuming she’s already tried that or the car isn’t equipped with height adjustable belts
Secondly, the foam pads can stop the belt digging in and you can get them to say natty things like “motorsport” which probably adds 10bhp
More sensibly, there’s various designs of clips intended to fix this exact issue
Zemolo Seat Belt Adjuster, 4Pcs Seatbelt Strap Positioner Kids Adults PU Leather Seatbelt Protector Locking Clip Seat Belt Adjuster Neck Shoulder Safety Seat Belt Clip for Universal Car (4) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09KC974R9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_FHJ9WGWC7JCVSEAFA7F0
Is it level or smooth? Maybe a vinyl skin cut to size can cover it up
You could also get fancy and get contact paper with wood grain, leather or carbon fibre.
I've been using this brush/woolie and it's been decent. I've also been gifted this. It feels nice plush, but it's too big for my rims! So I haven't actually tried it and I don't know what it's like for longevity.
Yeah, I know what you mean, it’s just impossible for it to dry out in this weather. If I were you I’d get some of those dehumidifier packs.
Like these ones here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01C6V5IVG I’ve used them when I had a leaky sunroof and it worked quite well, even in winter. Before I used them my windscreen as literally running with water.
Just a cheap one on amazon. I just need bluetooth connectivity. It’s a pretty stock looking one, fits the interior of the Getz nicely Deal: ieGeek RDS Handsfree Car Radio Bluetooth 5.0, LCD Calling 1 DIN Car Stereo with Clock, 4X60W FM Radio Car MP3 Player RDS/MP3/FM/AM/SD/AUX/USB Wireless Remote Control, 30 Radio Stations https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0912BV7FM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_dl_GB5KB6QE6SP82MK09Z5H?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
This is the one I got, but like I said out the box it's a nightmare you have to un-coil it and let it settle for a bit.
After a few uses mine is a bit more forgiving than when it was new.
It's just nice being able to walk all the way round my car or the length of my garden without constantly moving everything as I go.
i've had this exact one for years and use it with the android app 'Torque': https://www.amazon.co.uk/Torque-Pro-Elm-327-Bluetooth/dp/B01AC7I7BO
have used it on a bunch of cars and has been very useful - obviously it cannot read any advanced protocols or modules, but for simple monitoring and reading codes from an engine lights, it's been ample. i always leave it in my glovebox 'just in case'.
