I got it from Amazon prime day, its the pro diver from amazon and I love it. It's cool. Simple. Fun to wear. Not concerned about damaging it. Then found pagani design, they're a spec beast so wanting to give it a try.
I believe it's 650840. Thanks. I tried Watch Accuracy Meter for Android and it hasn't been consistent with my Steeldive SD1953 (NH35A). I got a reading of +6, +2 and then +4 spd. It uses the phone's mic to extrapolate the accuracy.
Tracking it with Twelve O'clock for iOS showed an average of +7.1 spd. I figured it was 6-7 spd after wearing it for a few days. That app requires tapping the screen as soon as the seconds hand hits 12 and then setting the correct minute time.
you can test with a android smartphone if your watch is magnetised.
Most have sensors for it. I have this app for that.
Also a degmatizer just cost around 5€.
Orange dial, stainless steel 3-link bracelet from their site, sold out on Ali. Added an Amazon rubber bracelet to mix it up.
Yeah I'll watch some youtube vids on modding the Sharky... Somewhere I read the latest version doesn't take mods well, but I'd really like to add a SS bezel insert
Great review. I will definitely get one myself.
As for the band issue, these would help:
Jomashop sold out of the PVD, but the regular is only $140:
I know u/themindofluke wanted to know my thoughts on this piece...
so....my thoughts.
it's basically a re-branded Steeldive Sub homage with an upgraded clasp.
the watch head is very nice. Blue AR coating on the crystal, decent finishing, good crown and bezel action. alignment is spot on.
the fully lumed bezel and the lume on the dial and hands is very impressive, right on par with my San Martin SN017 V3 sub. it's excellent.
the clasp is just as good as it was on the Watchdives Willard. 6 levels of microadjust, no sharp corners, not overly long, or thick, and not too small either. it's great.

the oversized crown is, visually, my biggest issue with the watch.
the weak point of the watch, just like the steeldive, is it's bracelet. 20mm tapering down to 18mm at the clasp. just a bit jangly is all.
overall, if you are looking for a nice sub homage, and you aren't too concerned with the bracelet, this is a good option.
I bought a more expensive and more effective demagnetizer like the one I saw at my local watch store. The one I bought looks like this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09LPXFFFD
I also bought a pack of small dirt cheap compasses like these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HL5F5Y5
You use the compass to check if your watch or watch bracelet is magnetized. If it is magnetized, the compass needle will noticeably deflect when you move the watch or bracelet around and over the compass. If the watch or bracelet has been demagnetized, then the compass needle will move only very slightly.
This is an excellent suggestion. Simultaneously compressing both sides of the spring bar with a tool like the one here makes it much easier to deal with solid end links.
There's a video clip here demonstrating this method with a similar Bergeon spring bar tool.
A Davosa GMT Explorer homage from Amazon? Maybe the simplest option.
Or try eBay / AliExpress for a 39mm no-name vintage case with acrylic crystal for around $70?
What's your price range?
watchbox and for the price its really impressive. Sure its in padded vinyl fake wood but the little hinges are sturdy and interior finish is nice. Its not "last 20 years" nice but ive got it for a year now and no visible change.

There are four new V4 models. There is a pair of meteorite dial watches in either white or sky blue. There also is a pair of plain dial watches in either white or blue. This Amazon listing shows all of the PD-1701 models, including the four new V4 models:

Buy this, you want plastic instead of metal to avoid scratches. This set has way more stuff than you’d need to resize a bracelet too…but some spares aren’t a bad idea. This kit is overkill and inexpensive but effective.
Since you are willing to go into San Martin prices, I'll give you an odd recomendation, a Tissot, there are some relatively cheap Tissot automatics for women, look for couturier or PR 100

Those are some very solid choices 👍 my collection in rotation currently is : Casio a700we-1aef (casual watch at home or when we go to a lower tier pub) Then this thomas sabo watch which I mainly wear with the matching skull silver ring ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/Thomas-Sabo-Rebel-silver-Analogue/dp/B01D8Z9O8W ) (It was my first watch ever. Now i find the dial too thick and the leather bracelet is low quality and already had to be replaced 2 times) Casio g-shock yellow oak b2100c-9aer(was and is my summer go to watch, and for casual sporty outfits) So a bit of everything and nothing 😂 ...
Is it because the head of your screwdriver is too big? You need something small at around 1.4mm head. Either get one for cheap on Amazon for $5-8 or get this tool set that come with 3 screwdrivers and other items that may be useful in the future.
22mm Watch Band For Men Brushed... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GZ9GRQ8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Very affordable engineer bracelet with solid straight endlinks, milled clasp, and screw pins. Strapcode sells similar bracelet for 2x the money. The one I shared is 22mm and I fitted it on my 710 case.
They make casios for under $20
Found it on Amazon, the only place on Ali with it for the $89/usd price was a Pagani design store, not the official store, the rest didnt have them discounted and were listed for $299 or higher.
Any leather shoe care products will work. I use Bick 4 leather conditioner. Usually just wipe them down with a damp cloth first, then apply conditioner.

You are mighty welcome sir. Earlier this evening, I decided to order a true "beads of rice" style bracelet in which each rice bead truly is an individual rice bead with pivots at each end. This design harks back to vintage beads of rice watch bracelets from many decades ago.
I am somewhat unsure that I decided to spend half the price of this watch on a replacement beads of rice bracelet for the watch's dull blue leather strap. Anyway, this is the bracelet which I hope will totally compliment this watch:
There's a 36mm Invicta, which is quite nice and only $60 on Amazon. It's marked as a "womens" watch, but the only difference from the "mens" is size.
This is the one I ordered. No end link but it is curved so no gap and fits perfectly (20mm). Buckle is silver so that would need replacing as well ... I put a rose gold deployment buckle on it (the buckle end is 18mm)

Found this on amazon
Case diameter: 1.57in/40mm
Case thickness: 0.5in/12.5mm
Strap width: 0.79in/20mm
Watch weight: 0.35Ib/158g
Strap length: 8.4in/210mm
I always have this problem with butterfly clasp bracelets. My only "solution" has been to use some of these cabinet door bumpers and stick them on the inside of the bracelet to make a better fit. Really annoying, but it works.
Traditional bracelets just suck in general. They're heavy, sometimes noisy, sometimes pulling hair out of your skin, and often hard to adjust correctly, and even when you do, on a hot day they can be confining if you don't have a quick adjust of some kind. Oh and they require tools to adjust, and good luck remembering where you put those links you took out a few years from now. They're in that 'junk box' with your old cell phone and USB thumbdrives... somewhere.
If you can't live with a strap (leather/nato/rubber/whatever), get yourself a $20 stainless steel mesh bracelet. It's silent, comfortable, handsome, and you can adjust it on the fly in seconds without tools.
When I started I used to like steel bracelets, but as time goes on I like them less. I only have two watches (out of 15 or so) that are still on steel bracelets. They're just too much of a pain to adjust unless they have some built in quick adjust, or something like a diver's extension I can unlock if the watch feels tight on a hot day and my wrist has swollen. I hike a lot, and when your arms are swinging on a hot day your wrist can swell.
As an alternative to a traditional bracelet, which has links you have to remove and stuff, I much, MUCH prefer [a steel mesh bracelet these days].(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CY4GM37/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1) The one I linked allows you to micro-adjust it to any length, moreso than any traditional watch band, no matter what it's made of. And it only takes a few seconds to do so. There is no fussing around with removing links, pins, etc.
That said, most of my stuff is on NATO. Two on leather (one field style watch and one Sugess chrono), and one on sailcloth.
Basically, here's how it breaks down:
> Diver style watches - all either NATO, steel mesh, or original bracelet; one on sailcloth
> Field or chrono/dress watches - leather
I do own some rubber straps, but they're sitting in boxes unused.
You can pick up some really good deals during certain sales. But as is the way with AliExpress it's a bit of a mixed bag. Some great deals, some not so great. Apps like this can help to figure out whether the prices are good or not.

I have something like this which pretty much comes with everything I'll need.
Bought this no name flieger type-B dial on Amazon. Have to say, I’m super impressed with the build quality. They offer in a variety of movements (PT-5000, NH35, and VH31). I opted for the VH31 high beat quarts movement, because at 4bps, it’s very close to the original Laco movements at 5bps. Anyway, fantastic quality on this guy. Just thought I’d share. Very affordable as well.

This one is honestly great for the price. My first box was a pos 10 watch at half this price and this is much more than 2x as good.
I've been really happy with the Case Elegance Solid Espresso Wood Watch Box.
It has a clean, simple design with room for 12 watches and a glass top so solar models stay charged. The construction feels solid with sturdy hinges, nice finishing and hidden magnets that hold the lid closed. Definitely a lot of quality for about $50.
Case Elegance also has other watch boxes and cases available here.
Is this bracelet from miltat: https://www.amazon.com/MiLTAT-SKX007-SKX009-SKX175-Screw-Links/dp/B00C58S82W
The endlinks are from meranom. You have to make sure you have the old 710 case though. They changed the position of the springbar holes in the lugs. Only for the old case you can ask Dimitry for the old endlinks (they dont list them on the website anymore).
Then i had to do some engineering to fit the centrelink of the standard vostok bracelet to the miltat bracelet (file off excess material and widen the lug holes)
I don't if anyone needs help with looking for cheapish exotic leather watch straps like alligator, stingray, ostrich, etc. but I'm just gonna put it out there for everyone. There's this company called vinacreation that sells a lot of different exotic leather straps for a very good price; their alligator straps are in the 20 dollar range. I've been buying straps from them for a few years now but haven't seen anyone talk about them. I'm just gonna put it out there for anyone that needs it.
They have their own website and are also on amazon. I think they're also on ebay but I haven't bought from them there so can't confirm.

This looks really good. Except for the FIRSTIME logo. The name doesn't make sense in English. It's probably meant to mean "first time", but the meaning, and mashing the two words together sounds unnatural to English speakers.
Also, by just writing it in a fairly boring font, you leave a lot of empty space, and that side of the dial seems empty, and the dial looks unbalanced. Compare it to this Orient for example:
https://www.amazon.com/Orient-FKU00004B0-Sport-Chronograph-Analog/dp/B07FDBP6GJ
I don't know about that specific watch but I bought this one a year or two ago when it dropped to a sale price of $38 USD. No complaints. It's a good watch for the money. Personally I wouldn't drop $200 on an Invicta when that would buy a better quality Citizen (my favorite brand), Seiko, Casio, etc., in my humble opinion.
I use the blue tool that came with this - never had an issue with it: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08H86Q6QT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_DYMCCZBHCY6QJ8TW8Z57?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
This is the tape Id recommend to apply a strip across the caseback to prevent scratching - needs to be thin so the tool doesn’t slip: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08L7C4QSZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_MWSSKF8TE9C1BRXA679T?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks! End links on the aftermarket bracelet don't fit as well as the OEM, but I wanted a thinner braclet than the one it came with and I wanted the glidlock clasp with divers extension. I'm sure the spring bars are in, but will double check. It's a small price to pay for the weight loss and it wears nicely on my small wrist. This should give you a good idea on side view and case back: https://www.amazon.ca/Cronos-Automatic-Stainless-Resistance-Professional/dp/B09F6ST7P2/ref=sr_1_2?crid=3KK0B5M1I2R15&keywords=cronos%2Bwatch&qid=1651089828&sprefix=Cronos%2Caps%2C328&sr=8-2&th=1
Maybe they have a men's size.
Can't comment on quality.
I'd love to see Pagani or berny or Parnis or somebody to tackle Cartier's best selling models, a tank and a Santos.
Sub $100 with stainless cases, sapphire, VH31. It would sell really well, I think.
I have the Pagani “Cocktail Time” with a meca-quartz movement. Really nice watch, especially for the price.
Usually I’ll grab a Barton or a Ritchie Alligator Leather band from amazing. But both of those brands didn’t have a black leather band/gold buckle with just black stitching. So I just found one through Amazon from iStrap. I couldn’t tell from the pictures, but I lucked out and they have more of a “matte” finish that I prefer like on the Ritchie brand as opposed to the Barton. No quick release though which isn’t a huge deal breaker for me. For $12 I can’t complain, even included a spring bar removal tool and 4 spring bars even though I have plenty, but was still a nice touch.
I also like Berny's Railway homage. I got the the quartz version as a grab and go. It's only $30 on Amazon US and looks like right now they also have a 10% off coupon.

I purchased this one from Amazon and it's very similar to the one that came with the watch.
Thanks, yeah I like it a lot. 42mm, auto with date, sapphire and display back. The pulsometer is a nice touch, but more gimmicky than actually useful (and I’m a doctor lol). My one gripe is that the lugs are 21mm which is a weird width. The strap is from Amazon—this is the one—watch originally came on a cheap Chinese “leather” with butterfly deployant.
Keep it on the stretchable MN strap man. You'll find it way more comfortable than any rubber strap. Otherwise try CheapestNATOstraps or these rubber straps from Barton on Amazon.
Also check Amazon....if you are in the US at least, it was a couple bucks cheaper and 3 day shipping
Thanks! This is the type I'm looking for as the straps have the humps that Omega leather straps are known for. If only this is available locally where i live

I personally find bracelets a pain in the ass for the most part and have switched to stainless steel mesh in cases where I'd normally use a bracelet. You can adjust it in seconds without tools to any length you like, down to micrometers, depending on the design (there are some designed like regular straps which use adjustment holes).
Here's the one I'm sporting on one of my watches:

Here it is on one of my Octopus watches.
Not only is it easier to deal with regarding sizing and whatnot, I find it more comfortable. It wears more like a NATO strap in terms of comfort. And there are no sharp edges, no catching hairs, and no clinky sounds like you can get from some bracelets.
I kinda doubt I'll ever go back to link bracelets again. Too much of a pain with removing links and needing tools and whatnot. I have a bunch of watches that originally came with bracelets and the only one that still has the original bracelet on it is a 15+ year old Seiko Monster that doesn't get any wrist time these days, and I mostly keep around out of nostalgia for when I first got into mechanical watches.
For the strap, I bought a green version of this last month. Great strap for 12 bucks if you can order off Amazon

There are several available on Amazon. You can choose between traditional buckle clasps, folding clasps or magnets. I picked this bundle because of the good reviews. The other bracelet is ok, not as high quality as the milanese though.
Not Chinese, but I think some Orient (Japanese) Bambino models invoke the Calatrava. Example: Amazon
Milanese stainless steel mesh is versatile, you don't have to worry about end links, and its quickly resizable without tools, and comfortable. And I think it looks great.

I would really like for some of the YouTube reviewers out there to start doing tabletop WR tests on these watches.
A tabletop tester that tests up to 6 bar can be had on Amazon for around $200. [(example)]https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RMDRLTG/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_XE2AQH86NFP5MZDKSY4N)
That's enough to test if the seals are good, etc. It's no professional hydraulic press test, but it's more pressure than most of us will realistically submit our timepieces to.
I think it comes down to quality control in the end. If the designs and materials in an homage are the same as the watch being homaged, then in theory the WR should be the same - if the watch is has perfect QC. But a company like Pagani is putting out so many damn watches these days that I would expect there to be the occasional case of an improperly seated or unlubricated gasket, or a machining tolerance flaw, or an improperly seated crystal or something to slip through now and then.
I feel you brother, the first scratches are usually the ones that hurt the most. Maybe you can try cape code polishing cloth for the bezel (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0017H3PIO/ref=ox\_sc\_saved\_title\_50?smid=A39Y0FDVWNK9NK&psc=1)
Are you on Android or iPhone? On my Android Magnetic Field Sensor works great.
I just tested it with the magnets of the enclosure of my headphones.
I'm not sure, but I read that microwaves and induction burner can cause magnetism in watches.
Yes I also think having at home a demagnetizer isn't a bad thing.
But that the watch run a few days without a problem then are a few minutes behind is weird.
Full glowing dial if you push on the crown.
I got the black version pretty cheap on a Amazon Sale.
Loud Quarz ticking, but besides that cool watch.
Are you ok with Quartz? If you are, check out this Swiss Military Hanowa, you can find it at around $200 new. Picture of mine plus the black version which I bought for the bracelet as the white one came with a strap. I don’t have much to compare it to in terms of a similarly styled watch but if it makes you feel any better, I’ve owned a San Martin, Steeldive, Escapement Time and Pagani Design, the Hanowa has a better fit and finish than all of them except for the San Martin, it has a sapphire crystal with (I believe) a good AR treatment, the dial es clean, no dust particles or QC issues, and, for what it’s worth, it is Swiss Made. The leather straps are also great, I’d easily buy one for $40-$50.
I've been on the lookout for a good 40mm bluesy for ages - Lacz Denton is a new one on me but the reviews on Amazon are really bad, and the prices they go for on Aliexpress are crazy. Do you have one yourself?
Heads up for the US folks, the Pagrne Design Dayton PG-1666-LD in white/black is a prime day deal for $87, that's less than Ali right now.

They're not expensive so I figured why not. However I did have a lot of trouble getting a good signal from it and only use it on bare movements or watches with the back off. The mic has to make good contact with the back of the movement (I usually place it on the rotor to avoid damaging anything) to pick up the vibrations.
If you don't need to check beat error/amplitude you might be better off with Watch Accuracy Meter
On my PC I use a Korg CM300 contact mic with the TG timegrapher software. However I only get good results when the mic is clamped directly onto the movement which means I have to take the back off the watch.
I have also tried the Android app Watch Accuracy Meter and although it only estimates rate (not beat error or amplitude) it seems to work pretty well with just my phone mic. However I only tried it with a few bare movements I was working on.
I don't think any software based system is going to work as well as a proper timegrapher with cased watches - happy to be proved wrong though!
Here's one that's pretty nice. Might want to order quick. Only 1 left: https://www.amazon.com/Rolex-GMT-Master-Pepsi-126719BLRO-0002-Meteorite/dp/B084BRLMPZ/ref=sr_1_33?dchild=1&keywords=Meteorite+Watch&qid=1621032569&sr=8-33
Man I wish Seiko would reissue this. They were ahead of its time with the recessed crown. Christopher ward just dropped a watch with similar crown this month.
Unfortunately as far as homages go there isn’t anything with this case set or sole subdial.
The only one I can say is kinda similar with the same vibes is the SNDF87P1 or the SNDF95P1

I don't think the official app allows it for some reason.
I have been using Sync for reddit (i have the dev version because I like early features) for like 3 years and LOVE it. it's got a direct upload to IGUR button for comments. definitely worth trying out the app if you are on Reddit a lot like I am.
