What you're asking for is basically a Google bomb to manipulate the search results. Google doesn't like the potential for abuse and has worked over the years to limit the ability to do such things.
Basically Google search results are ranked on various factors, but number of links to that site is a big factor. So if you want a result to come up higher you need lots of links to it like Hillary Clinton. Note that the text of the link itself is important, as that's what Google uses to help associate a search term with a link. That same link here in your OP won't add anything to search results because you used it as just a naked URL, so Google doesn't know what to associate it with.
If you can get enough sites to use a link with a specific phrase then you may be able to alter the search results, but that's pretty hard to do these days, especially for any of the search terms you'd want to affect.
I was thinking of using leaflet (http://leafletjs.com/) I need to reach out to the campaign on how to group people. There is probably a strategy that the campaign is following to win. It would be more useful to work with them.
Phaser could be good for this. Even found some code to get started. Need to add ghosts/billionaires and replace the assets.
I might give it a go if I have some free time in the next few days. Obviously if anyone else wants to get there first, go for it! :)
Are you building a simple static site? Or do you actually need the blog/comments functionality?
If you're building a static site, Wordpress is an awful idea - it has way too many security vulnerabilities and is generally outdated. If all you want is just a simple site where you can post some basic content, you'd be much better of with a static site generator like Hugo.
I highly recommend this book to give you a great, clear explanation of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and serverside code and how they work together to make a fully functional website. It doesn't cover anything in much depth (and barely touches on JS/serverside code at all), but will give you an exceptional foundation in web development.
Once you finish that book, perfecting HTML/CSS is just a matter of practice, practice, practice. There are hundreds of resources out there to help sharpen your skills, most of which have been listed in this thread, but the only way to really learn is to just build websites.
If you're looking for supportive communities, there are several subreddits (/r/webdev and /r/web_design having large, active communities as well as resource filled sidebars). There is also @CodeNewbies on twitter every Wednesday evening which has an amazingly supportive community with people of all skill levels.
Happy coding!
I'm an app developer with experience with PhoneGap, Objective-C and Java. Along with web technologies and AngularJS. I would be happy to volunteer my time for the campaign.
