They sell the shades that attach to the controller, I've seen them on Amazon. I am lucky with my Note 20 Ultra, it's super bright.
Number One Rule is to check the UVA Forecast App before flying. Be sure and go into the settings (of the app) under "Threshold" and adjust the altitude (I set it at 400'). You can also check it online in a browser.
There are a couple things I use every single time I fly:
ND (or PL) camera filter (freewell all-day is the best kit IMHO)
Phone hood (I have the official dji one, and it's pretty nice)
Landing gear for about half of flights (when no concrete is around) these keep the drone at 249.8g btw (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08G4DWFRV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_C74SMXK86PAGYB6NAXSA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1)
I just travelled with mine last weekend. Buy one of these from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0829672DF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_K1HS5W18Q3PJ9HTTZGFM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
When you go through TSA, put the batteries in their own bin. Also, Don't leave battery inside drone.
All good.
Yes they are a must in my opinion, it’s the only accessory I fly with.
This is the pack I got; Freewell Bright Day - 4K Series - 4Pack Filters Compatible with Mavic Mini/Mini 2 https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B081VZQB1B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_NM877PQ3A1C7XEAJXMXJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I use a file explorer app on my Android, which shows everything in my storage organised by photo, video, audio, etc.
It can also hook up to some cloud storage services, too, and you can copy and paste between them.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alphainventor.filemanager&hl=en_GB&gl=US
You'll see the cache folder(s) show up there under images as thumbnails, which I find handy as my drone shots are easy to spot. I know I'm telling you how to install File Manager rather than where to find the files, but that's really just because since installing it I've never needed to go looking for files. I'm sure there are other file browsers, but this one is really simple. Used it for ages.
I bought the one linked below and it seems to be quite good in the wind. It's a little weightier that the ones you stake down. I haven't had any issues with it getting dirty at all.
I work for a research lab (one that does energy efficient building research) and we wanted to use a drone to identify interesting data about building exteriors and roofs. However, they have strict regulations about flying uavs and so I had to get my 107 even before I saw the drone!
The test was not easy but it was not hard either. It's super interesting to prepare for it and it took me around 10h-15h to prepare. The aero charts took a while for me to understand but it was fun once I did.
I prepared using this book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1619549751 but I've heard people say there are a lot of free online resources as well and I believe them!
(Also after I flew the office drone, I had so much fun I went and bought my own mini2!)
Have fun!

Maybe try an electronics duster can to blast out any dust particles that might be an issue?
Ya need some prop guards so you can play indoors. Just picked some up myself for $18.99 Prime. ANd they work great. Only 5 left in stock as of the post...

Great photo!
Sorry to hear about the tree incident. Incidentally, Amazon sells battery covers: https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Cover-Replacement-Mavic-Repair/dp/B09LCN9B8P
For daytime shooting and video yes imo - f2.8 can be too much light even if shooting at 1/1000. For daytime video crucial so that u can shoot at a lower SS (eg 1/250 is only possible with a higher f stop or nd) check this one if you don’t want multiple
I've not started a flight in the rain, but I've had it start lightly raining mid-flight. Took a few minutes to get back to the home point but there haven't been any adverse effects.
I've never been out flying in heavy rain.
I do have these on my motors though: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08Q4334TQ
find someone with a Costco membership. They're selling the Aerial Camera Bundle for around $430, it was originally called the "fly more" bundle, and gives you the drone, a case, 32gb sd card and a spare battery. The new Fly more package (Amazon), gives you everything you want, but costs around $170 more. If you get the Aerial Camera Bundle, you can get a 3rd battery, the 3 battery charger, spare props (everything in the Fly More bundle) AND get a nd filter set, while saving yourself +$70.
This is a similar product to Pelican. I have this one but they also make smaller sizes which could hold separate items.
Nanuk 910 Waterproof Carry-on... https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08SV9V214?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I'd actually go with the first, then buy a way better case, like the one below and buy the battery charger separately. Cheaper in the end. 32 gb sd card? Just get a 128 from Walmart for $20. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NTJ3WLK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Yup, it's on sale in Canada. Best Buy also has them on sale during Prime Days.
This is the one I got from Amazon:
SYMIK A310-MM2DL Dual Layer... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08QFQDXT3
It was a good start considering I knew I had to customize it. It carries everything for the drone. Tablet, ND Filters, Drone, Remote, Extended Antenna, 3 Battery Charger & Batteries, Small Tools, Tablet Adapter, MiFi, Backup SD Cards and a Shit-Load of extra props.
It is not light, but everything is well protected.
This is the one I bought from Amazon that I use with my iPad Pro.
When I first plugged it in it didn’t work. Took a close look at the cable and there’s a little icon that indicates which end is supposed to go on the controller. It doesn’t work if you have it the other way for some reason.

You will probably want something that supports 18w output. I didn’t find many, but something like this might work. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GG81VMW?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_CY47STQNYPVFG31QCQQF. I’d suggest verifying the voltage and current it can put out at 18w match what the chargers accepts. It should charge up to 4 batteries from empty on one charge.
It is still going to take over an hour to charge a battery but you can drain it in 20-30.
I just bought these

I bought an inexpensive charging block for two batteries on Amazon. My US link won’t help you but here it is anyway: VCUTECH Mini 2 Battery Charging... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08W2L8ZQ8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It charges two batteries at a time, not three like the OEM kit, but has the same two-way charging capability. The manual says it charges them serially starting from the one that is closer to full and experiments confirm this. I have so far only used it with the fast charging brick that came with my Google Pixel 3 and it seemed to do a bit better than an hour per battery but I didn’t precisely measure.
Extra batteries are really handy but I can’t really imagine charging multiples in the drone itself. For $25 an external box is well worth it. As far as the wall wart any PD plug should work, so for instance if you have one from a laptop or smartphone you don’t necessarily need to buy another one.
I haven't bought them yet.. but i'm leaning toward the helicopter landing legs:
If you're looking for taking up minimal space, I recommend an individual case for the drone body only. The controller really doesn't need protecting, and you can store the batteries in any little holder.
You also don't need to use prop guards or gimbal cover in a fitted case like that, so it's faster and less fiddly.
Or buy one of these. Way faster. Especially if you have multiple batteries.

WOW these two look way better than the one I bought.
https://www.amazon.com/RCstyle-Tablet-Bracket-Controller-Accessories/dp/B08MDZYYH7
The advantage of the one I bought is that it collapses down to a size that will fit in my Apache 2800 case. May not be important to you.
Here ya go. I use it for my iPad mini. But it’ll work up to an 11 inch iPad. Comes with longer cables too.

Fastest way is to charge multiple batteries at the same time. For me that's one in the drone and another at the same time in this.
I use my parallel charger: Hanatora 6 in 1 Battery Charger for DJI Mini 2,Mini SE Drone,Rapid Multi Parallel Charging Hub Accessories https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NP75D7R/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_VFYFJ79CZPEKETCPG46Z

The drone isn’t the issue, just take it in your carry on. The issue is the batteries. Get a good battery bag and store the batteries in it.

This is what I use.
I've used my Mini 2 with my Fold 3 from day one. It's a brilliant combo. You'll need a tablet adapter for the controller ( I use this one from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08YWH3PN9/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_03YZ2P1N9D08Y2CMEJCM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1l). USB c cable fits perfectly. Speed and screen size of Fold3 compliments the stability and range of the Mini 2.
Have fun!
You'd need to buy a tablet holder for the dji mini controller. My Fold 3 doesn't fit in the mini 2 controller unfolded. I bought this BHAIR5 Quick Release Bracket,Tablet Stand Holder Extender,Tablet Mount for DJI Mavic Air 2,Eye Caring,Made of ABS,2 Types https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08BJ7843L/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_WETBZ8NDDQCBND0KNJ1S?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I think I might have needed a longer usb c cable too to reach, can't see one in my purchase history so I believe I just reused an existing longer cable, I do see some longer ones on amazon also though.
I'd like to end up with this but in the headlight form...
Maybe I'll buy both and try to put them together... For science!
Sure thing!

These work for both the mini 1 and the mini 2, since minin1 and mini 2 batteries are physically interchangeable.
It's not going to take as much of the heat away as you are thinking. Especially if you are doing a lot of hovering.
I've flown mine at 23°F and it had a battery temp of 98°F during the flight. If I had covered the vent holes, that temp could be well over 100°F.
However, it's your drone. You can do whatever you want with it. I, and likely a lot more people on here, will advise against covering the vent holes. But, if you are set on doing so, you might as well add some functionality and aesthetics to it.
Symik you can find it on Amazon. Yes I believe I used either a 1/8 or 1/16 ND filter for this because it was pretty sunny!
If you’re U.K. based, I got mine off Amazon - I’d recommend these because it has polarisation as well as a full ND set for all environments. Not all NDs have polarisation options so these were the best choice for me.

I bought this one back at the beginning of summer and love it. It's completely configurable with the inserts so it not only fits all my drone stuff but my DSLR as well:
I have these ones: https://www.amazon.com/Dengofng-Noise-Reduction-Foldble-Propeller-Propellers/dp/B093VHJPG3/
I am VERY happy with them!
In my tests, they are significantly quieter. On a calm day, I can still hear the stock props from around 200 feet up and 550 feet out. I lose the sound of the 3-prop ones around 350 feet out. I haven't done a sound meter test with them yet. Perhaps I'll do that later today.
According to my AirData statistics, I'm getting an average of 3.5% better battery life per mile with the new 3-prop ones.
Also according to the AirData statistics, stick response is .25 seconds better.
According to my dad, they look super awesome.

Gimbal guard clips on the same way as the clear gimbal cover that protects the gimbal during storage. The fastest transfer is going to happen if you insert the sd card directly into your computer. Because the drone uses a micro card, you’ll just need to use the adapter which comes with most micro cards. If you didn’t get one of those, you can pick one up for just a few bucks https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0047921Q6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_6Fe-Fb28A5KCX
Depends on the situation, really. I usually fly at some 50m - 150m, but I have gone all the way to 500m (Slovenian gvmt if you're reading this pls dont kill me). It all depends on the perspective you're tryna get. Anything over 250m is useless for video, but you can get some really amazing photos from an entirely different perspective.
Keep an eye on the wind tho, since the higher you go, the faster the wind will be. I highly recommend downloading the app UAV Forecast (That's the link for the Google Play Store, I think it works on iOS too), it provides quite reliable wind measurements at different altitudes and keeps all your flying conditions in one place. It's really handy because you can set your parameters and it'll tell you when it's good to fly and when it's not.
In short, you can go pretty high and nothing's gonna happen, but make sure the wind isn't too fast. I'd say the absolute extreme is wind at 30 km/h and gusts up to 40km/h (at 100m altitude), but the lower the better. And if you're flying in strong wind, don't go up high, since, well, the higher you go the stronger the wind will be.
This set isn't very expensive.

I've had my mini 2 for about 3 weeks now. With Davinci I have to limit myself to 1080p with my old i7 4790, 16 gig of ram and a RS270 video card with 4 gig of ram, plus still running windows 7. I did recently add a WD blue 4 terabyte drive.
You'll want to check out MrAlexTech if you haven't already for Davinci. And there's an app I like called UAV Forecast on google play if you're using android, which tells you the winds and such.
Several people make a clip that slides over the top edge with a loop a lanyard attaches to. It mostly plays well together with the iPad mount. But I’d like to find one with something molded slightly more integrated with it though. It doesn’t really interfere, but doesn’t integrate either.
Taisioner Anti-Fall Strap Clip Mount for DJI Mavic Air 2 Mini 2 Remote Controller Accessories https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089PTXD3W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_FzVXFb904M7HR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
You mean besides the reports of this being the main reason I got the Mini 2 instead of the 1. My iPhones have always been in otter boxes and I’m not removing them to use my drone. They fit just fine in the 2.
But you already have the Mini 1 so...I did get an adapter to use my full size iPad on the Mini 2. An adapter which was designed for the mini 1 remote. It would allow you do use a tablet in a case with the existing remote, but i admit it is quite cumbersome. This particular one is probably too big for just a phone, but will give you an idea what to look for. I’m sure they make one smaller and just big enough to hold the phone on the sides and let it be above the clamps.

Nope. I have the sm-p200 which is basically the same tablet, but with an s pen. I just got my tablet holder in the mail an hour ago. I paid $20 for it on amazon. Here's the link to it.

Going to try it out in a minute. I'll let you know if it's worth a damn. I don't think there are any tablets that will fit without an adapter. The remote barely fits my note 10+ with a slim silcone case.
