I've been looking for good programs lately as well. Mainly for trying to make Tiny Planet style photos. Here the the two best ones I have found so far.

I'm looking for more/better ones if anyone has any other suggestions.
I took this picture using this Gcam mod :- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pA7vyX4bYxWUjX-PLRGGyGJ9VHSZ9fjt/view?usp=drivesdk
And edited it using this app :- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thetaplus
Theta+, it's an android app (not sure if there's an ios version too): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thetaplus
It can open the DJI 360 images and make a nice little planet out of it, plus add some filters to make it look even better, it's free and without watermarks as well!
The 2nd image just looks like a squished/deformed normal panorama.
I use the Theta+ app to churn out Tiny Planets from already taken 360 degree photos.
Which version of the Google Camera app are you using? I've stuck with this version, though I've switched to using an actual 360 camera these days.
No worries the app should also be available on the play store, check this out
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thetaplus theta is exactly the app you are looking for, i used to use it for drone 360 shots editing
If you're on Android, maybe it's on IOS...

...you can do all kinds of magic with sphere pics.
For people wondering how to export it correctly. Try an app called THETA + . That's the easiest way to do it to get the desired effect for posting to the internet. There are more complex ways like using the image composite editor or ICE. Free download here.
Another tip. To get this effect make sure the tallest structure in the shot is above the horizon slightly. Like the trees in that shot.
