Are you talking on a hardware or software level?
I use an app that will let you redirect physical button pushes to a different action on the software level without root.

Amazon both times. Watch a few different youtube vids to get comfortable. The battery comes out, it just takes patience and smooth steady pressure. Take your time and go slow unless you're used to working with small electronics.

Perhaps you could try this app, which let you tune your earphones with a frequency response curve.

Theres an app called Battery Info you could try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stu.battery&hl=en
The app I believe just informs you if the battery is healthy or not, but that can give some clues. Lithium batteries, like pretty much every battery I believe, will decrease in "health" due to long periods of increased heat, which results from constant charging. My personal suggestion is to buy a replacement battery since you have the luxury of fairly simple battery replacement. You could do it with a guitar pick and a small screwdriver to be honest. Here is a pretty good video on replacing the battery: https://youtu.be/kpeu5ok18N4
Last question, when you charge the phone overnight do you set the back down flat on the desk? If so, is it with or without a case? Just to be safe I would suggest that when charging your phone for long periods of time, you prop it on something at a slant so that there is space between the back of your phone and the table, it'll help keep the phone and in turn the battery cool. Good luck!
I've got this one https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Rugged-OnePlus-Resilient-Absorption/dp/B01H3PEWDK and its probably the best case you can purchase for your device, it looks damn awesome and protects it very well, no need for tempered glass
I have been really happy with this one

Gone through three of them in 9 months, but I don't worry about my screen at all with them on.
Unfortunately, you can't have the notifications not show up in the status bar/notifications panel AND still have a badge. It is either both or neither.
Also, to get a badge you have to use a 3rd party launcher like Nova Launcher with TelsaUnread
To mute contacts, go into contacts and press on the contact you want to mute then edit that contact and press the 3 dots in the top right and then press "all calls to voicemail". For texts you just need to block their texts. To block altogether you just need to go into contacts, press on the contact, 3 dots in top right and "block contact". That will block everything from them.
