Another good free option is DaVinci Resolve they have a paid version as well to unlock all features. The free version is very good.
I recommend Premiere and After Effects as a paid option.
If you don't know where to start, download DaVinci Resolve. It's free and insanely powerful. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/
Then watch Casey Faris on color grading: https://youtu.be/IJnMkchydrM
The big pelican cases are insane in my opinion. I actually think this is still too big... this is what I use, lightweight, easy, compact, fits the Mavic and controller and nothing more. Easy deploy and easy carry: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KN66QRQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I had the same exact problem, on the exact same phone. Was working fine until maybe 2 months ago. Almost sent the drone in for service, but then tried using a Pixel 2 phone instead, and it worked fine, so I knew it wasn't a problem with the drone. Did a ton of research, and found a pretty simple fix!
Install an old version of the DJI Go 4 app, from back when it was working fine. I use v4.1.22 found here:
Works like a charm. Just make sure you disable auto updates for the DJI app in the Google play store, and you're good to go.
This is the version I downloaded and installed. It's working like it did before at least.
Once it lands invest in a shade for your phone. STARTRC Sun Hood Sunshade for DJI Mavic Mini 2/Mavic Air 2/DJI Air 2S Controller Accessories for 4.4-7.1inch Smartphone Screen
I got these. They work great but tbh i almost never use them.

You have to buy the Litchi app and use it instead of the DJI fly app to control the drone, it has several additional modes such as Pano, follow and active track. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aryuthere.visionplus
I have a 2015 MacBook and a DJI drone too! The SD slot is for a full size SD card on the Mac. You need a microSD to SD card adapter. The miniSD simply slides into the adapter then you can plug it into the Mac.
It’s this one:

I got this refurbished one from amazon shipped and sold from DJI for $379
I experience this with my Phantom 2 Vision. It descends slowly, even if you use return-home to land it. Based on my experience, it's normal.
It will pass once you unconsciously decide you have gotten your moneys worth out of the device.
I wouldn't know, I use Litchi on my S5 instead of the DJI app.
This is the link to the original deal posted on slickdeals. At the time Newegg had it on sale for 359 with $10 gift card but they also had a coupon for $25 off which dropped it to 334. Had to hop on it for that price.
If you sell the batteries let me know. Personally I would buy a refurbished. I had the spark and the wifi range killed me so upgraded to a refurbished pro.
This really doesn't sound safe to fly. The footage quality is the least of your worries.
You should switch out the motors for very little (in the scheme of things, this is nothing) and you'll have a safer aircraft. It sounds like, from your third point above, that your motors are, to be technical, 'fucked'.
Using it for any length of time in this state will not only damage your motors beyond usefullness, but also will damage the ESCs (The speed controllers for each of the motors, there are four, one for each motor).
Whatever you do, do not fly this aircraft over people. It is absolutely not safe to do so, particularly in this condition. You will end up in serious trouble if you injure someone with this drone, especially when you know that the motors are not in full working order.
It is fixable, and you'll learn a lot about your drone in the process.
phantompilots.com is a great resource you should use to source more information, such as strip down guides and other neat things you can do with your P3.
Let us know how you get on!
How are you getting on with this?I couldnt get VLC to play my livestream. I've been trying to setup my drone as a media source in OBS and have found it extremely difficult. I'm not a techy so setting up a RTMP server manually was a non started for me. Instead I turned to using restream.io (which has an RTMP server included). Now my problem is getting the drone to appear as a seperate source whilst simultaneously streaming in OBS. Tried using RTMP pullbackto do this but Restream.io have said that is not possible! I'm running out of solutions!
Here's another video to show a direct comparison between None, D-Log, and D-Log with the settings turned down... It shows how quick good video software can give you much better results than DJI's camera.
BTW, that video was using DaVinci Resolve, one of the best color grading programs available (and it's free).
The reason is the lack of OTG. OTG makes a world of difference with the Spark. If your OTG didn't work. Make sure you have it connected correctly. OTG cables have to be plugged in correctly. One end specifically should be labeled "Host" or something similar . Also make sure you go into Airplane mode, or at least turn off wifi when using the OTG. Do you have a link to the specific OTG you purchased? This is the one I use with my Spark.

Frequently in the EU and UK to USA.
The part they're concerned about is batteries, not devices. I put the batteries in a protective explosion proof case like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/CamKix-Explosion-Proof-Battery-compatible/dp/B07BK1VMF6/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=safe+battery+transport&qid=1627491653&sr=8-2
It all comes down to the airline, some have a maximum amount of battery capacity you can check in (listed in mAh or Ah) and others just say don't check any batteries and keep them in hand luggage.
I never had anyone even ask, I think I went well above and beyond with the research and battery case, but it was cheap and it's a useful thing to have.
100% recommend getting one. The DJI FPV combo is a great starting place for getting into acro quads. I'm building my first right now after quickly getting addicted to the FPV game but I've been flying regular quads forever! Depending on where you are there is actually really reasonable rules/laws about drones. Living in a city will make regular flying more difficult but a large majority of strict rules only apply to Part 107 pilots (people flying their drone for money) if you fly recreationally or as the FAA calls it 'a hobbyist' there are rules but mostly limits your max height not really location. You can then also use this app which can give you and your drone immediate ATC (air traffic control) clearance in almost any controlled airspace. The one place the app can't grant immediate access is near heliports. Download the app and take a look at their flight map to see what kind of clearance you can get in your area! You might be surprised by how many places you will be able to fly legally!
They actually sell the mount on Amazon pontoons
assuming you are talking about the cable to link everything to your phone
I purchased my mini from Amazon. I have refresh! And I tried my friends mini 2 their about the same in terms of flying. And for 200$ less it’s a no brainer i can attach a link to the Amazon store
Edit: here it is if you decide to buy HAPPY FLYING!
Truthfully you have 2 great drones already. I mean sure the Mini 1 was more of a Proof of Concept that they improved with the Mini 2, but the Pro 2 is still a great drone.
I recommend you invest it a drone backpack to take the Pro 2 with you. I carried it all over some vacations this way. What is nice, at least with the backpack I have and I think the version I linked is that the zippers into the drone compartment are on the part of the backpack that is up against your back, so that if you are in a crowded area a person couldn't unzip it and pull anything out. You have to have the straps off in order to get to get access to anything inside.
I know that isn't what you asked but if you are looking for the "next big thing" in drones but aren't utilizing the ones you have you may just want a new toy, which is awesome, don't get me wrong but its a big investment just to be collecting dust.
I have this case. It's $99 CND https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B088CYTB7Q/
It well built and rugged. Also has space for extra batteries and a removable insert if you use the smart controller. I've gotten Lekufee cases for my other drones and gear and they are very good quality for the price.
I'm thinking bout these for my Mini 2, rather than getting the original DJI ones again (Which I gave with my Mini 1 to a friend who is buying it on payments)
Just get a good external HDD. Here's a 2T for $95 on Amazon. Usb3 is fast enough to work off of. Do not trust sd cards as storage, they aren't stable enough for that.
WD 2TB Black My Passport for Mac Portable External Hard Drive - USB 3.0 - WDBCGL0020BSL-NESN https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WJOVCOS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_8fpOxb65FE037
Edit: also, your MacBook has a (relatively) small ssd in it. This isn't meant for storage really. This is really just for holding your OS and your applications. Always a good idea to store data on an external.
I got off the phone with their support - the web servers are basically down. The guy sent me to the official DJI Amazon store, and said it would be better right now to order there. Hope this helps.
This is the $1300 Package deal:
Just the Drone, no extras
I picked up a brand new unlocked iPad mini 4 on amazon for $340. If you poke around a bit they can be had for way less than 600. I didn't activate the LTE as I just use my phones hot spot.
Apple iPad mini 4 (16GB, Wi-Fi + Cellular, Gold) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018TEUNSC
I bought a cheap car charger from Amazon, have used it a few times and have not noticed anything out of the ordinary.
Cars' DC output is usually around 14V. As the official DJI AC charger runs 12V, 3.8A, there is very little step-down and no AC-DC transformation needed to achieve appropriate Flight Battery charging output. I would have been far more cautious buying an unofficial AC charger, as that requires more significant electrical engineering.
I just made a post about Amazon offering the FLY MORE COMBO right now for $463. Getting all new everything with Amazon's customer support might be worth the few extra bucks more than the used gear you're thinking about.

Looks like it will not ship until 2019, by then, DJI's accessories will be shipping too. What I like about this is, once I get it, and DJI has released the mic adapter, I can VLOG easy with this device.
Why? Consider installing this to know when it is safe to fly - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.uavforecast&hl=en_US
I got this exact one and the grey color is perfectly matched to the rest of the motor.
A good idea would be to get a copy of Open Sky. That's the official app that we use in Australia for knowing where you can and can't fly. NOTE It doesn't mention national parks. The general rule is (in most national parks except QLD), you can't take off or land in the park. They don't control the airspace, so you can take off from outside the park boundries and fly in.
Download the Voa na Boa ("Fly Cool") Official regulatory app for information regarding no fly zones, rules and who to contact for permission if needed for UAV flight in portugal!
This is an official state sponsored app by the regulatory entity (ANAC) so every information within should be legally binding. Its much safer/better info than contacting local police who are mostly and horridly clueless about the law regarding drones...
Reminder: Even outside controlled zones in the app map, the 120m ceiling still applies as a general rule. Enforcement however is spotty, I don't think you could possibly get in trouble if you shoot your drone up to 500m as long as you are a few km away from any major population area and outside a military/natural park zone...
Reminder 2: There is also a website...
I use CAVU FPV with VR goggles. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.logit.droneflight
Only complaint is that it doesn't record audio from the phone. I like to combine that audio with the video from the drone. I'd have to use an additional audio recorder at the same time.
For the time being avoid Android at all costs, the application isn't stable and crashes a lot on every single device I have tried it on (5 different phones...) check out the reviews on google play for further reasons to not use it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dji.go.v4&hl=en_GB
Yep - it was around before Instagram, and I think it stabilises better personally. Link for the Play store is here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.hyperlapsemobile but on iOS just search for Microsoft Hyperlapse
I haven't gotten my Mavic yet but I will be pairing with my Nexus 6P. If DJI software doesn't work well I think I will try this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aryuthere.visionplus&hl=en). I also was gifted an ipad mini and will try to find an adapter to support it on the controller.
why....yes!
some say this is pointless as Occusnyc 2.0 is good enough...and you must set your transmission to 5.8Ghz and POINT towards the drone for the full effect of the boost.
I will say it DOES improve your range...but Os2.0 is INDEED so good that you may not end up needing it.
I've been on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 6 since I started 2.5 years ago. Works great except it isn't as bright as I would like in the sun. So I have a sun shield I purchased to wrap around it.
I just use a strip of velcro tape. There's a crap-ton of prop holders on the market if you're worried about it though.
I've used a very cheap bluetooth earpiece, but not all apps and phones are compatible with that kind of bluetooth mic, so I can't recommend it.
Thanks for the informative reply! I think based on what you said I'll have to end up going with Air 2S. A couple questions about buying if you don't mind. Normally I would just go through the DJI store, but I've come across this on Amazon. I'm considering this to save a couple hundred dollars while also still getting the fly more combo. Do you think it's a good udea to ho for thus or not and would I be able to get DJI refresh on it if I did? That's probably a dumb question, but oh well.

I bought this. I had to make the velcro strap a tad longer to hold down the RC, but it works awesome. It's not a hard plastic one, but it's a rigid case.

It took me some time, several mounts, 2 almost lost drones (due to jammed GPS), and a lot of shaky footage with those micro vibrations until I found a 3D printed soft mount that seems to absorb most of the vibrations. Also I usually shoot in 120fps which reduces the effect of the vibrations compared to 60fps (for the rigid mounts you could go up to 240 to improve the footage). This is the mount I use now (just note this particular one comes without the right screws) And yeah I use the master airscrew props and less aggressive rates on the drone. And this last mount also doesn’t make the GoPro jam the drone’s GPS (I’d turn off the GoPro’s WiFi & GPS tho)

I also thought about painting my Mini 3 and now I found a camo skin wrap. I think it looks pretty slick but not sure if I would get it because it could be hard to find if lost... Any thoughts?
I also just found this app... It's $20 but it has a companion app in sidequest which makes it very easy to get running. I might try it.
This is the case I use with mine. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B2HVVXFG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
> but maybe kinda got a spray of salt water when I was flying it near the coast, nope did not clean it
And that's why they're rusted. Just order another set and move on...
When I was still using the RC1 I used one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0971SCNMG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Almost the same size, for a fraction of the cost.
I'm curious about this too... in addition to the phone screen being small, it's just not very bright. Not much of a problem if I'm flying at sunrise or sunset, but sometimes you're on a trip and you're stopped at the pretty view at 2pm.
I've had this on my wishlist for a while:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09GTXKVCH/?coliid=I28U6NH6DY8G5G
... but that does feel like a crapton of money for a bright and rugged tablet with specs that are otherwise pretty meh.
They have them on Amazon too, like this - https://www.amazon.com/Propellers-Holder-Guard-Stabilizer-Compatible/dp/B085DNFSBT/
I use this one I bought on Amazon. It says it is for a bicycle, but the attachments are sturdy and I have had no issues on a motorcycle.
This video has footage from a GoPro that shows the mount in use.
I am not sure, but I guess we will need something like this here:
BOYA BY-K4 3.5mm Female TRS to Male USB Type-C adapter cable Connector Dongle - Compatible with Samsung Galaxy, Pixel, Moto, HTC, iPad Pro Smartphones and Tablets
https://www.amazon.de/dp/B07ZYRRMCV
I have ordered one to check it out.
On my FPV drone I use something like this one for the Avata. It'll help prevent collision damage and never comes off.
I've just been off on a googling mission - granted, the stuff I usually do is my own so I get to have some fun and I will clip a lav or the transmitter straight to something relevant to what my video is about - a tiny rake in a toy store, coat hanger in the clothing store etc.
I also had a look for a 3d printed option, I found one option so far which was terrible
As per Stewart and Alina on youtube - you could also utilise this cool wee DJI tripod as dual purpose (My personal preference at this point, assuming the tripod legs unscrew)
https://youtu.be/fL3PSGK5Yhc?t=67
And as AnsibleMedia mentioned - this amazon store listing indicates a DJI MIC compatibility:
https://www.amazon.com/SmallRig-Interview-Microphone-Wireless-Handheld/dp/B08YJ6954Q
You need to get a better screwdriver than what is supplied, I have one on order and will report how it fits, they have some sort of lock tight on those screws, I had to replace a set on one arm and they were very tight all the way out and back in with new screws.
I have this on order. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000T9W42E?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

That's the one I got and it works great!
Cheaper than on DJI website too
Yeah, I am not a huge fan of the case, it honestly should the larger as it really can't fit everything in there. It is a Skyreat bag: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZXK6WQV?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details
You need to have your drone in visual line of sight so I don’t think you should worry about how nice and quiet your drone is.
If you’re going to add anything to your drone just keep in mind that the M3P is 249 g with a regular battery and a micro sd card. Anything else will take it over 250 g.
I’ve seen these ones recommended before (6 grams): https://smile.amazon.com/VIFLY-Strobe-Collision-Phantom-Inspire/dp/B096VCKR97
Hey, both the Drone and Care Refresh would be purchased through Amazon.ca
For the Mini 3 Pro, you'll likely want a step higher than the other DJI drones as the aperture is f/1.7 vs f/2.5+, which is almost an entire stop more than what they've previously done. You'll have to go up an entire stop from the standard recommendations you see for other drones due to this. (i.e. ND8 on Mini 3 Pro where you see ND4 recommended for the Air 2S)
You'll likely need both of these sets to have all your bases covered:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B1589N63
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B63VMP8R
I wish they'd sell a single kit that has ND8 - ND256, but it's the same price to buy both kits, rather than the "All Day kit" and add the 128 and 256 individually.
Anyone asking for the link for this case. I’ve got one that’s similar, holes a flymore kit + bonus accessories. Been using it for years on camping/kayak trips and it’s been holding up really well. Also great just for tossing your drone in that car without worrying about heavy bags crushing it.
it’s not starting because the battery is most likely dead
you can flush it with deionized water to get rid of salt(optional)..then let it dry for couple of days minimum.. then you can clean it with alcohol wherever you see oxidation or salt.. then you put in a fresh battery and try to start it..most cases it should work
if not, then it’s game over.. i recommend DJI care refresh + something like this and you will be fully covered
This would be a good option if your after a back pack. It would hold your mini 3 and larger drones so no need to keep buying new bags. https://www.amazon.com/USA-Gear-Backpack-Compatible-Yuneec/dp/B077H4RN8P/
Update: I just call them and they seem to cover only accidental damage, including water damage. (no flyaways, or stolen) they cover DJI drones. They are an independent company called Asurion, they just sell their plans through amazon (CA). Their plan is $101 CAD for a $1000-$1250 drone.
This is what they offer:
NO ADDITIONAL COST: You pay $0 for repairs – parts, labor and shipping included.
COVERAGE: Plan starts on the date of purchase. Drops, spills and cracked screens due to normal use covered from day one. Malfunctions covered after the manufacturer's warranty.
PRODUCT ELIGIBILITY: Plans cover products purchased in the last 30 days
EASY CLAIMS PROCESS: File a claim 7/365 via phone. Most claims approved within minutes. If we can’t repair it, we’ll send you an Amazon e-gift card for the purchase price of your covered product or replace it.
You can buy separately, only need to be inside the 30 days window of date of purchase. This is their plan : https://www.amazon.ca/Asurion-Year-Camera-Accident-Protection/dp/B07HXGG943/
I think is a good deal, compare to what DJI offers. 4 Years protection is nice and no deductible at all.
I found the video! It was in:
/Android/data/dji.mimo/cache/om_temp
So if you ever lose a video, but it might be still in the cache, look there. Just don't delete the app cache. And not every file manager can access this area. I used the official Google file manager, which is a bit hidden. This app creates a shortcut to it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.marc.files

Yeah there's nothing you're missing unless I'm missing it too. I did pick up some range extenders on Amazon at some point for my Mavic Air 1 similar to this one and that did help a little bit at the expense of requiring me to be mindful about me orienting the remote towards the drone.
I know this is kinda crappy, but having experienced Occusync now I would recommend selling the Mavic Air 1 and getting and buying a Mini 2 or Mini 3 that has Occusync. It really is that much better
One good example is Secure Camera: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.grapheneos.camera.play
You can verify it yourself by going to settings within Secure Camera and enabling EXIF data, then taking a photo while zoomed all the way in. Once you do that, go to your gallery app and find the photo you took, tap the 3 dot menu button in the bottom right and select Details. You'll see the photo is marked as having been taken with the 27.2mm zoom lense.
If you zoom all the way in using the native camera app and take a photo, you'll see that the details section shows the same zoom length.
Make sure to take a photo in a bright area, or the phone may force you back to using the 3x telephoto instead as the 10x requires more light.
