When i look at your gear there's lots of room for improvement.
Gems: Bane of the Trapped (After rank 25 it triggers itself) Gogok of Swiftness Estoric Alteration if you need defence Taegeuk for dmg if you can keep the stacks up.

For solo play you want the Templar. Learn him inspire instead of Guardian for 1.1x spirit regen. More spirit = More dashes = More dmg.
Play alot with friends/public groups, mostly there are people with insane clear speed which should help you farm upgrades. You can check out my Monk for some gearing tips if you'd like :) solo GR41 at the moment, haven't pushed any further.
Should help you progress further and set some goals for your character :)
Enjoyed it. I'm working on something similar, here's my current version: https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/mirage-2926/hero/42758220
I love Sunwuko's 2pc buff but I have the "wrong" pieces unfortunately, hope RNG will solve that someday ;) I have a Kekegi waiting in stash.
I didn't know we could still snapshot BF. Thought that was fixed ages ago since it was abused in SW. Will surely give that a try instead of my Fire Ally.
I switched out my lifesteal when 2.0 was released. I am surviving okish on T5 but i have to use MoH with 20% dmg reduction. I think with enough life per second gear and a good toughness, you can tank T5/6 easily. I also recommend using DMG reducers like Crippling Wave and Resolve because you will need a pretty good damage reduction + life per second combo. A high HP pool isn't that viable compared to LpS/Dmg reduction.
Edit: My Profile
You can use Open Broadcaster Software. It's free (32-bit and 64-bit) and you can record and stream up to 1080p. You can adjust the settings for the processor's priority and stuff to get non-pixelated video.

There's the file. It's pretty rudimentary and I didn't bother to add any fancy features since it was originally just for my personal use, but the calculations are very straightforward and I figured automating that process was probably in my best interests.
Just a tip unrelated to your question, to link something on reddit this is how you format it: [text here] (link here). And just remove the space! Makes it easier for everyone to see your profile and give you feedback.
As for feedback, two big things thlat stand out are you're missing the seasonal fist weapon Lions Claw, which makes the entire U6 build work, and the bracers Gundgo Gear. If you get those two items you'll see a drastic difference in DPS and you'll be able to run higher torment rifts. Good luck!
Edit: Just noticed you're hardcore. I don't play hardcore so my advice might not be 100% accurate. But I believe the Lions Claw part still stands for HC players
Just push up to whatever level feels safe. Whenever you fail a level it removes around 4 levels from the level you cleared so if you are aiming for a lvl 30 GR key clear level 34 and just tp away. I usually swap Breath of heaven for Cyclone strike Imposion to speed up trials. I would skip the last gem since it doesn't do much for you. For a party build i have some essential skills:
For bounties i have a new standard build. I got 2 different monks with different gear and the one that i am using for bounties has 40% CDR with beacon of ytar. Link to the Skillset
I have TR on left mouse button because i need the other buttons for the rest of the skillset. And vs. Elites i pop Breath of Heaven and Serenity which deals a good amount of burst damage.
Big thanks to /u/Ceasul for the d3up link!
I agree that EHP is definitely there. In fact, about 10-12k HP could be shed and you'd still be doing ok.
Single life steal at 2.6% is ok for farming but I wouldn't go up against ubers with it. Be careful with reflect packs.
You did a decent job of balancing DPS with EHP.
If I were to give any advice regarding improvement, it would be:
Swapping to dex gems in chest and pants will do no harm.
shed at least the vit off the Nat's ring. Adding crit chance here would be just fine.
Keep crafting gloves. This is a DPS slot.
Keep crafting bracers. You can get more CC here (otherwise outstanding roll!)!
Run your monk through the Toolbox (EXCEL WARNING). See if a Tal's chest with 9% IAS and no dex would beat your Inna's chest; it's a ~2k sheet DPS loss, but if you're spitting out more cyclones it may be worth it from an EDPS perspective. (And this is an opportunity to become familiar with the toolbox in the meantime!) Check out the Toolshed for a how-to video and other great tools by /u/HG_Johnny!
You have enough EHP, so look for ~10%+ FoT or SW Inna's helm with similar stats. This may be a long wait as they are rare. The FoT or SW roll would replace the Int roll on your helm.
D3up will be great when it's up!
Our Sidebar'd spreadsheet works for me… https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByKfowrcaiKLek1IZ2p6NXhDb1E/edit?usp=sharing
So does this one, hopefully they are both working for you now.
Assuming this is the PC version, there is still a profile on bnet under your bnet id. Your bnet id is something#number. Ex: Fluffy#1470.
So with that said, you can find your profile by using a URL like this:
I rerolled the dex to cdr and I felt an enormous power boost.Dropping bells in the oculus with fire rotation is ridiculous amount of dmg but the setup for it sometimes kills me.But it was enough to carry me from gr 85 to 89.Here is the rest of my setup. Can you please advise what to reroll/reforge next. https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/WorldBreaker-2926/hero/99493430
I find with my unity I don't need as much uptime on epiphany, when clearing trash the unity, esoteric and diamonds are enough to keep me going, I only pop epiphany when fighting elites and the RG. My build is lacking in damage however as i prioritised survivability, even dropping STI for avoid death passive but managed to clear a 94 with suboptimal gear and still had a minute and a half remaining so with some better rolls and a few more caldesaans I can see Unity making the top 100 haha.
https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Dreadwalking-2915/hero/75394038
as well as what u/barurutor said:
-Passive: change determination to unity. you get the same +20%, but all the time... and your Mystic Allys get a boost too. -Reroll: Bracers, get cold% on here, you've got no elemental modifiers so this is (up to) a straight +20% boost to your EP damage.
I'm trying to learn this build currently too (profile if curious), have managed a 69, cannot get a 70 down to save my life at the moment, its getting quite frustrating.
I would say it definitely feels quite squishy... its important to only be in the thick of it to do your burst combo (apply EP, cyclone, serenity, assimilation stacks, mystic ally on cold on your CoE). If it doesn't trigger the reaction, dash out and wait till your cooldowns come up again... forcing it just gets you dead.
Thank you so much for all the tips! I followed right around all of em, except for the fact that I still died SO QUICK when I was trying 70..
Missed my first GR70 attempt because I died too much, was about 2 seconds short.. Second one I tried with Stricken and Crystal Fist in the cube and man, it was a cakewalk. This is what I used to finally clear it!
Thanks again man!
https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Arishmael-2821/hero/74734356
This is my setup at the moment, was running some 70s before i logged off yesterday so thats why i have Esoteric on, normally i have bane of the powerful in that slot.
Some things to help with spirit:
Resource cost reduction, preferably on both weapons, rings where possible and even on shoulders and gloves if you can. Getting a flawless royal topaz in your helm will help massively.
If you cant get resource cost reduction, cooldown reduction will also help.
Mystic Ally, use it when getting low on spirit you will regain 200 when using it because of 2 air allies.
Epiphany, while epiphany has 25 in base as spirit regen, if you can spare the toughness switching from desert shroud to insight will help massively
is your profile not displaying correctly? no emeralds showing in weapons, really low toughness etc?
if you don't have ramalandis gifts yet, roll sockets instead of damage%
for reference here (for the next 4 hours I guess) is LTK/DB setup i put together last night... its comfortable in T10 public, haven't gone higher yet, getting used to the playstyle. but its got nearly double your toughness and damage, and Focus/Restraint as well.
when you say T13, do you mean T13 solo?
edit/side note: i'm not by any means saying my setup is good, its terribly setup/optimised...
This is my profile: https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/django-2848/hero/92670484 So what to reroll on this crystal fist when replacing ingeom for pushing? should i reroll dex to area dmg for example? i got 39.72 cdr, 39.36 rcr and 91% ad atm... thx for your input mates!
Pants and belt can have crippling wave damage rolled on them.
I have only tried up to gr73. And I cleared that on the first try. Got the build of the leaderboards. Very similiar to yours.
https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Dawit-1723/hero/91531064
Edit: And you don't use unity with your templar. That is huge for surviving. And drop your water ally for mantra of salvation / agility.
I finished GR70 with pure Pet build last night! Used Enforcer, Pain Enhancer and Bane of the Trapped. See here!
Using Assimilation to gain extra damage and use Mystic Ally without a rune really helped me deal the damage needed, though I did die a few times. My actual HP is around 750k though, not sure why the armory says 450k!
Check my profile for usual cold setup. Rings & amulets are cold SoJ (with crit chance) / traveler's pledge and compass rose.
You can also get rid of serenity & harmony for try-gen setup.
https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/mirage-2926/hero/42758220
Pull/EP (cold dmg) with a bit of XP gear. The gems are toxin, esoteric alteration and gizzard. I usually run 42-45 depending on composition. Likely not optimal but works well enough and is fun.
Edit: no spirit issues whatsoever with insight and double ally plus inna. Spamming is part of the fun :P
Enroll: https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/mirage-2926/hero/55266584
Haven't yet played with it, but all pieces are coming together nicely :)
Thanks for this effort, our own leaderboard is fun stuff.
Having some problems with keeping the dash up if i overdash ih ave to wait way to long for cd any idea how to fix this issue Character
Just got my first S2 Unity:
I think I got a pretty good Unity, but dunno what to reroll. Suggestions?
Hi
I just want to say thanks again for your comments... I've had some amazing drops today!
https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/slartibart-2167/hero/46818569
Today I got the plans for Aughild's, Asheara, Cain's, Born's, Captain Crimon's sets. I got BT boots, Cindercoat. As you can see from the above I also was lucky enough to get a couple of Inna's and Raiment drop too! I've been through the guides and I think I'm getting there.
I just need more emeralds!
Have fun and thanks again for helping a newbie.
Gearcheck please!
Lightening with plans for SWK (only one piece away)
I've also got FD, Leoric's, two Sunwoko pieces (shoulders and Amy), Ring of Royal Grandeur. I'm really staying on T2 so far.. A bit scared to go higher.
Anything obvious?
Many many thanks in advance... I'm a newbie
Tbh your vit/hp is already more than enough but your healing sucks. You should get some LoH on one of your items (rings, bracers, gloves, weapon, amulet can have LoH)
Here is my profile: https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/frisch-2609/hero/37894668
I can solo T6 just fine.
Edit: And try to get some more All resistances, i have about twice your res.
> There is no need for CDR in generator SWK build really so you can replace reroll it for something else
This is wrong. CDR is good for uptime on Breath of Heaven, Epiphany and MA. As a bonus, it shortens the recharge time of DS.
Personally i don't like CS because of the casting time.
This is what i am currently using: https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#adXjQP!VXUf!ZYYbaY
The synergy of FoT Wind Blast, Relentless Assault and Bane of the Trapped is amazing and the spirit generated from FoT is higher than the one on WotHF. Most of the damage is coming from SWK anyways.
I have yet to figure out which mantra is best for me but basically this build allows you to spam the mantra infinitely.
https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/frisch-2609/hero/37894668
This is what i am running right now. The freeze on Fists is awesome especially when being in a group to CC the strong mobs down. Doing T6 solo atm.
This is my (current) take on Inna's with lightning: https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/mirage-2926/hero/4237070
It can do both support (up to T6 with immunity amulets where needed) and solo (up to T5, although the lack of damage is already very noticeable). Support is the preferential mode, which is why I use strongarms and NDE. This is also why I like Inna, so that I can use MoC and Unity at the same time, while freeing a skill slot. The build is far from perfect, though. I miss the power of MP10 monks badly.
I also tried very hard to integrate a Band of Rue Chambers (I have one trifecta) but SoJ+RoRG is just too poweful, mainly because Auguilds is so important. Here's hoping for 2.1 buffs.
<rant>Why does everyone and their dog have a Shard of Hate and I can't for the life of me find one? Damn you RNG. I want my trade back.</rant>
It is viable. I've been playing with this build myself, when I feel tired of lightning cookie cutter: https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/mirage-2926/hero/42758220
There's been some guides posted lately, you might want to search for those.
My advice is to exploit the fact that epiphany snapshots blinding flash (as I've learned in one of those guides) and it really makes the build shine. The rest is mostly gear related, I think it's self-explanatory. Feel free to ask anything.
Here you can check my char: https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/frisch-2609/hero/37894668
Using Aughilds AND Strongarm. Trigger strongarm with cyclone strike and then blow the mobs away with LTK. Both items are pretty much BiS (imo) for monks on higher torments.
Depends on your APS i'd aim for at least 15k Life per Second from hits (LoH * APS).
Here is my profile: https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/frisch-2609/hero/37894668
Currently i have my DPS gear equipped and with this i can do T3 smoothly, T4 is hard but doable. For T6 i have the Hallowed Set (Sword and Board) with a Hallowed hand of ~2.9k LoH.
I'm pretty happy with my monk atm, i like playign in groups and pulling shit in and killing stuff with epiphany.
it's slower then other classes, but it doesn't bother me too much, i just try to be the best monk i can be and i never feel like i leech in parties. To be honest i quite like having it a little tough
I don't play solo much, i find groups more fun
granted i don't play higher then t3 due to hardcore and all
heres my hc monk
https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/evotech-1195/hero/40921874
I use this build when playing T3 with friends. Mostly we have to fight 2 elites at the same time when playing rifts and with my defensive skills that i am using, it is hard enough. So i don't think you are able to "farm" T3. Doable sure but as farm i'd define a game where i can kill elites in 5-10 seconds.
Swapping out OWE i could gain 10% - 20% damage which imo is not enough compensation. You'd have to keep in mind that i would have to give up on alot of damage affixes in order to switch to all resist.
To bad the armory isn't showing the correct stats on rerolled items and i am not at home right now.
Thanks to the flying dragon that i found on saturday, this seems to be the best single target setup i have come across so far. If you got enough sustain you can swap out the Soothing Mist rune for Inner Fire. Epiphany makes you immune to ANY crowd control including knockbacks so you will be able to attack without any disruptions for 15 seconds.
But my build is very flying dragon reliable tho because usually you don't get such attack speed with 2h.
With my setup i don't see very high crits but instead i see like 2-3 crits per second popping up. Here is my profile.
When FD procs, i get to 3+ APS
Here you can check out my TR monk: https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/frisch-2609/hero/6960230
I found that staff too but you need a legacy skorn for effective TRing. I still cannot oneshot most trashmobs on T1 which is sad. mLvl 1 allowed me to oneshot them...
So much CC i bet you are still using a lot of pre 2.0 gear. I'd ditch some damage for toughness if i were you. While the damage is nice, wizards don't want monks on T6 in their party that are not able to keep the mobs away from them.
I only got 135k DPS unbuffed but 3,5m~ toughness and i can tank any elites on T6. Noone ever complains about me not having as much DPS as the wizards in my team.
Edit: Btw it's also useful if you are more tanky because you can use an offense aura and more offense skills.
MoC-Dishearten is amazing to help your group. EP - The flesh is weak is a must on high torments. If you rely on lightning damage then DR - Scattered Blows suits best for you.
I am going for Holy Damage and this is my build: https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#UdfVSk!gXT!bcZacb
Always played monk, will always play monk. I am thinking about leveling another monk so i have 1 for TR solo build and 1 for party story/adventure mode because it annoys me to change all of my skills all the time...
I wonder if the monks below me can do T6 without problems. Those guys have quite the damage but lack toughness imo.
as far as i know, the cyclone strike still works like before. i'm pretty sure i was able to pull them in at least. you still have a higher chance to pull in elites (or goblins, keywardens, ...) the higher the distance is between you and the target. the knockback effect might just not trigger on them.
back to the topic: i love you stun monk shifty, especially since you manage to still deal a lot of dps. myself just revived my zero dps monk* after getting the new azurewrath yesterday. and call me lucky - i just had the new ancient parthan defenders drop. i have around 1.4m toughness (97k life, 1050 all res, 5100 armor) with high ias/crit chance and currently run keep depths lvl 2 on torrent 5 in groups. haven't been able to test the new bracers that much, but if you focus to stay surrounded they work wonders. it feels challenging vs. packs, but overall it's really fast - depending on the dps-dealers in your party - and enjoyable perma-stunning enemies, tagging them with ep and pulling them together.
*: i run with moc/dishearten for the extra ms debuff instead of intimidation most of the time. depending on the elite density ep:strong spirit might also be preferred over :tfiw
Here is the file. Since youre dual wielding, keep in mind that LTK samples both hands so its not like Bells in that regard. Therefore, its pretty important (for damage consistency's sake) that both weapons be as close in DPS as they can be.
In regard to your sweet spot comment - You are correct that to much IAS is counter productive to a LTK build. As you mess around with the tool you will see how it affects overall eDPS, casts per globe and overall sustain, much in the same way that RC gear and your spirit generation do.
LTK takes a lot of tunning but when its dialed in, its wicked fun!
