With a service like Channels DVR, not only can you watch both East and West streams but you can also record them! As long as your TV provider participates in TV Everywhere. DirecTV Stream does.
I'm on gigabit ethernet not WiFi (confirmed), and I have a consistent download speed of above 355MB. Like I said, I can stream 4K HDR and Dolby Vision from multiple other apps without a glitch, and my channel changes and quality are excellent on both YouTube TV and Hulu TV. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the DirecTV app and it is no better, watching CNN is like watching an old VHS. I do have Unlocator smart DNS IPs in my router so I changed those to Google's fast DNS servers but that didn't do it either
I’ve done something similar to what you want to do… you could get one streaming box to be a source that you connect to an IPTV streamer. There are many, but this is one I have: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07CBMZ24P/
Then on your two Apple TVs you open VLC and stream the url that the IPTV streamer spits out. You can have the game going on your 2 Apple TVs, and even have a tablet in the bathroom so guests don’t miss anything. I think I’ve had four screens playing content, and everything was in sync to within half a second.
That said, an HDMI-splitter would be significantly simpler, to be honest.
So in the app you can now ‘show’ the tv numbers, I’m wondering if you can use Siri to call out the numbers or station.
In my personal opinion, the SideClick is the closest thing you are looking for. I bought one then bought one for every Apple TV I have Here is the link
The only thing is the att tv box has to output 480p/i to use the adapter which I have no idea if it does as the manual says compatible with hd TVs an 480 is an sd standard. You can buy the same one off of amazon with a return policy which I have no idea if RadioShack has as they have no stores to return to if it doesn’t work with it and you want to try.
Makes since. Might want to add the second location part. There is no way to convert coax put depending on the distance you can get this and a cat 5e or 6 cable that is 50 meters or shorter, recommend you only get the length you need or make your own, and tie the end of the old coax to the Ethernet and pull it the other end. You can then put Ethernet wall plates at each end if you want. You will still need to split it and depending on the length you might be able to buy a spare remote and add it to the box and program it the the other tv and leave it there. Hope this helps.
The recommended file transfer app in the OP doesn't do a lick of good for me, as it requires an app to be installed on both the Google TV and any device you want to upload from. And unfortunately, the app isn't available on every platform.
I use TV File Commander, as it lets you upload to Google TV from ANY device without installing any other app. It spins up a web server on your Google TV that you can upload to using any web browser.
I download the latest APK from my iPhone and then upload it to Google TV.
Yah I can live without the voice. This is the one I like best. https://www.amazon.com/DIRECTV-Universal-Remote-Control-Replaces/dp/B00FL3N6O8/ref=sr\_1\_5?dchild=1&keywords=directv+remote&qid=1630862244&sr=8-5
