I’m so sorry you are going through this! https://zapier.com/blog/hide-myself-in-zoom-meetings/ Here are some instructions (scroll down for the 1 on 1 view screenshots)
We just do the “butterfly hug” tapping and it works well
The Body Keeps the Score is about exactly that effect. I’ve felt like my brain got run through a blender afterwards, but fatigued enough that I can’t go back to work or do anything beyond just sitting/lying down.
Thank you and sure! As I understand it, it's when you replace a negative belief like "I am worthless" with something positive like "I am worthy." My therapist helps me fully reprocess the traumatic memories and sensations related to the negative belief and then I hold the positive one in my mind as we do the BLS again. I've only done it a few times so far but it's made easier to make space for healthier core beliefs.
There's also some solo BLS techniques that are having a similar effect for me where you "tap in" different resources like nurturing figures or protective figures. I've been using the book "Tapping In" to help me with that process.
If you have android there is an app called openemdr. It's simple and great.

Hey, had this tossed my way.

You might find it of interest inhavent got around to it yet...actually kinda want to for few things....but need better alone time.
Good idea. To clarify, I think that EMDR is super amazing and so beneficial. It can also bring up a lot of emotions. It’s difficult if you are not prepared for it though. The steps before starting EMDR are things like… installing safe spaces.. installing protector figures… installing a “box” to keep your thoughts if a memory can’t be fully processed in a session, etc. I share your therapists enthusiasm for EMDR, but have to wonder if he/she is properly certified in it. I’d highly suggest reading Francine Shapiros book on EMDR so that you can better understand it. She is the founder of the therapy. You can also rent the audiobook from your local library.

I'm struggling too OP - to identify my parts, to switch between them etc.
A helpful book my T recommended is: No Bad Parts by Richard Schwartz PHD
My drinking problem ended abruptly one night after reading "meditations" by Marcus Aurelius, one of the top emperors of the Roman Empire. It hasn't come back, 8 years later. I had a period of about a month feeling like I was floating because all my stress had vanished.
If your stress comes back, maybe give it a try: https://www.amazon.com/Meditations-New-Translation-Marcus-Aurelius/dp/0812968255/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2U748ZE846QIM&keywords=meditations+hays&qid=1645398276&sprefix=meditations+hays%2Caps%2C166&sr=8-1
Have you read Dr. Shapiro's book on EMDR?. I read it a few months ago. In my opinion, the book is a little long winded at the end, but she explains her thought process and provides exercises on EMDR.
Fell free to DM if you have questions about it, I've been doing IPF work for almost two years with a meditation teacher who trained with Daniel Brown. I'll be taking my second AAI this summer and hopefully I'll have my earned secure attachment status at that time.
This book lays out the theory, the practice and the evidence supporting this approach

I know you didn't ask, but I've struggled with acne too so want to help! One of the main tools that helped is this wand. If you hold it to active acne for like 10 seconds it kills all the bacteria and the acne's gone in like 2 days. The most I've ever zapped anything is like 3 times. Seriously game changing - especially for cystic acne: https://www.amazon.com/NuDerma-Skin-Therapy-Wand-Tightening/dp/B06W5PD1KY/ref=sxin_19_pa_sp_phone_search_thematic_sspa?crid=143CVI0I8O0U3&cv_ct_cx=radio+frequency+skin+tightening&keywords=radio+frequency+skin+tightening&pd_rd_i=B06W5PD...
I read this book ( Getting Past Your Past: Take Control of Your Life with Self-Help Techniques from EMDR Therapy https://www.amazon.com/dp/1609619951/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_WX71QQC1NHXYWXWXHR55 )and watched all full hour sessions on YouTube from Dr Jamie Marich. I wouldn’t recommend starting by yourself if you know that you have big trauma in your past. It can be extremely difficult.

I’ve read your entire comment. Very interesting, so different from my ketamine experience. I’d ,Ike to continue this conversation. Right now, I’m going to take my sweet loyal doggie for a walk in the woods. We both need it.
If you do read that book, you might be intrigued by what she does with her anger. Know it made one hell of an impression on me. I’m one of those too—was not permitted to be angry …. Even in the face of horrifying abuse. Just take it and take it and take and very often dissociate because it’s overwhelming.
She’s a good writer but she needed a better editor fir this book. She gets too “cutesy” sometimes, but the story is good, it’s powerful, and it dud me good to read it,
Off to the forest.
Let’s all hang in there 😇
Here. I put one on my cell phone too, I don't see why not to.
Tl;dr Maybe try a different therapy in conjunction with the EMDR, something like somatic therapy.
I've never been to a therapist myself for various personal reasons. Instead I used an ad hoc, do-it-yourself approach, using books and youtube videos. Which has led to me using a variety of techniques in combination often in the course of the same day. So take my advice for what it's worth, but I believe something like somatic therapy might compliment the EMDR, especially if you're having trouble accessing emotions. Because somatic therapy works with where the emotions live: in the body, something I've only recently learned having been so cut off from my emotions. I use this book [LINK]. It's written for therapists, but there isn't anything in there you can't do for yourself.
Im more of an app kind of guy, mainly Android. I have used this apps and I think they're great:
EyeMove EMDR: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.linknext.ace.emdr3
OpenEMDR: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.app.openemdr
Both are free and great. I mostly prefer the first one, since allows you to track the different indexes and personalize the tracker sprites. But it can be a bit buggy.
The second one is super simple to use and pretty straight forward.
Hope these help you as much or more than they have helped me.
My relationship was hitting rock bottom. We ordered this workbook and it has helped us in establishing guidelines for conversations and arguments.

Pete Walker's work about emotional flashbacks has been useful too. Letting my partner know that's what was going on with me has helped them to be more compassionate when I've been overwhelmed in our disagreements. If the concept resonates with you, maybe explaining that to your partner will be helpful?

With these two things, the relationship has gotten a lot better.
