Download and install Forscan (https://forscan.org/home.html) on the laptop and connect it to the truck. Set up a monitor for the misfire PIDs for each cylinder and then go try and recreate the issue. Even if it doesn't store the code in the trucks ECU, the monitored logs on the laptop will show where the misfire is.

This is an incredibly powerful diagnostic solution that any Ford owner should know about!

Check your local craigslist. Ford made both an aluminum and a polymer folding bed extender that rotated into the bed to do what you want. They can typically be found on craigslist for $50-$150. I have the polymer folding on in my truck and had the aluminum in my last truck.

1. You need to make sure you have the hood pin under the hood (to disable starting the truck when you are under the hood) like u/danruff93 mentioned. I did this one my 2013, best thing I've done and CHEAP. Kit takes all of 15 mins to install, includes instructions
2. Find a reputable locksmith company to cut your new keys. They didn't even charge me for it. Hardware store wouldn't touch them. Program your new keys using your (2) existing keys per the owners manual. You MUST have (2) existing keys or you will have to pay to have the new keys programmed.
3. Last thing you will have to go to a dealership to have them go into your computer and turn on the remote start option. Call around, it takes 15 mins tops. I had a friend who has the same software the Ford Technicians have and he did it for free.
