You can get a tub that sits on your toilet! My fiancé had pretty invasive hemorrhoid surgery and that’s what we used.
Something like this
I use a men’s beard trimmer. I trim once a month and I have had mine for 7 years and still going strong.

I use 1 of these after sex:
Intimate Rose Boric Acid... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GRC4T3G?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
You're not supposed to let anyone go down on you or have sex with anyone for a day or two after using one of these. Boric acid is poisonous if taken orally.
You will not have a problem with this timing considering you are in a long distance relationship but I live with my guy so it's tricky trying to keep my vag fresh after no condom sex.
I put one in at bedtime and I'm fresh in the morning. Sometimes I put one in in the morning and go about my day and I'm good by the time I get home from work
Was it this one? I have used this electric razor for the past 7 or so years. I replace it once a year or so.
I tried another Panasonic model that had a swivel head for curves and I hated it. It never seemed to get any kind of decent shave.
I like the Panasonic I linked… You definitely don’t get as close a shave with an electric in general, but I can go two days or so in between and I don’t get any razor burn. I have used it on my bikini area before and didn’t have any major issues, though you have to be careful not to snag skin… it works a lot better on my legs and underarms. The bikini area was always a bit harder to get smooth. I had to pull the skin taught and go from different angles. I get a bikini wax now, because it is just easier for me to keep up with.
Honestly, the electric razor is a godsend for me and I am sad you had such a bad experience. Maybe you got a dud?
Boric acid is amazing for BV! I use these ones from Amazon as they’re cheaper and have more than the ones from target. Seriously give it a try they work so well!
Like someone else mentioned, I use these in combination with the VH Essentials Cranberry Probiotics
You might have a different opinion about this due to having a nerve condition, but I've been using this epilator lately and I'm fairly impressed. It's basically an automatic tweezing machine, and yes it does hurt like one, but it hurts less each time you use it as the follicle breaks down (which can also result in more sparse hair growth in general). I was already waxing my armpits and bikini line for a while, so I was already desensitized there, but I won't lie I definitely cringe through doing the wide expanse of skin that is each of the legs that belong to my 6'0 tall body. However, I've only done two sessions on my legs (in as many weeks- I could have waited longer, probably should have, but I'm antsy to see if/when I'll desensitize myself to the plucking sensation. For science.) The second session was definitely way easier than the first in terms of pain.
An epilating session for my legs does take me a couple hours and I do see a lot of breakage, but I think that will get better with practice. I have to go slow and do a few passes since my leg hair is very fine. You might have more success with thick hair. Likewise, I do have much more success with my bikini area and underarms.
It comes with all the benefits of waxing - new growth is soft rather than blunt and stubbly, it takes longer for the hair to reach the surface of the skin, etc - but there's far less mess and it's way cheaper. I absolutely hate stubble, it makes me itchy, especially my underarms and bikini area, so shaving is not an option and epilating is a far more ideal solution for me. Something to think about!
At first I loved the wipes, but over time I realized I was sensitive to them. (I don’t normally have sensitive skin.) The best thing I’ve found is a “spray bidet” which you can easily attach to a toilet - cleaning with plain water is ideal! Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A9A9MUO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_BpeECbJEGWHNS
Try taking a probiotic like Re-Phresh Pro B. I had a similar issue a while ago and this helped it tremendously. I haven’t had the issue since!
Okay, other people are saying that you're ovulating. Yes and no. Your body is preparing for ovulation. What your seeing is called cervical mucus and it changes depending on what part of your cycle you're in. The part you're describing is during your fertile window. This mucus is specially designed to help sperm into your body. It's completely normal and is a great sign that you're healthy! I never got much of a lady bits education but I was reccomended this book and it explained SO many things! I highly suggest buying it especially if you plan to have kids one day!
Not sure about the affect on your hooha, but for the shower you can get a shower filter that helps soften the shower water! Makes a huge difference for me! This is the one I've been using for years
This is great advice!

This stuff is amazing and I have been using for 20+ years. A squeeze after sex and it seems to balance out my pH immediately.
May tingle or sting a bit for a second or two depending on how vigorous the sex was, but then very soothing. I always have a tube on hand. Any itch, order or or discomfort is gone.
Came here to 2nd boric acid suppositories! I went off birth control for the first time as an adult and it totally changed my biome. I had yeast infections almost every month for a year afterwards. I went to at least half a dozen doctors, got tested for everything they could think of, and they still couldn't point to a reason. I stopped using tampons, took acidophilus probiotics, changed to sent free detergent and used ph balancing wash externally, still got yeast infections. Then, a nurse suggested using boric acid suppositories, and it changed everything for me. I started using them 2 days before and 2 days after my period, and any time I just felt generally weird down there, and it's been a huge help. If it's helpful at all, here's what I buy.
i got a bidet attachment from amazon about a year ago, and it has been the best $30 i've spent. this one is super easy to install and very affordable:
Hey! I get chronic UTIs as well. UTIs will not go away if you don’t take antibiotics, and AZO is only a pain med. I would not recommend getting them online, because prescription amount and dose to your body is so so important. Here’s what I will tell you: I haven’t had a UTI - while having consistent sex - because of this probiotic: probiotic on amazon
I would go to the doctor, even though you know, just so they can give you antibiotics. Get some of the probiotics and take them once you’ve finished your antibiotics! Clean your Vibe, wipe front to back, and pee after sex. Then you’ve got a pain-free coochie!
Ok, this stuff is magical. I have razor burn and ingrown hair issues every single time I shave. The two key ingredients are alcohol and salicylic acid. Alcohol helps with keeping follicles from getting infected, and salicylic acid is a BHA that acts as a chemical exfoliant. I agree with others saying to exfoliate beforehand (physically, like with a scrub), but the Tend Skin helps to keep the area from getting irritated and infected. A great tip from the reviews is to put it in a spray bottle to save product.
No problem at all. They look scary but I assure you that they are small and easy to use with a gentle pressure that you can control. Here is a link to the ones I used: https://www.amazon.com/TecUnite-Disposable-Measurement-Irrigation-Mouthwash/dp/B078K8SVMN/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=irrigation+syringes&qid=1620674172&sr=8-4
Portable sink spray. You would hook it to the faucet in the tub. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.amazon.com/Sink-Spray-Portable-Shampoo-Sprayer/dp/B000QD2WJS&ved=2ahUKEwid2Yibi4HwAhWFWc0KHU2OCtMQFjAAegQIBhAC&usg=AOvVaw3_-aFfont0AEZx_jXC_ZyG
It sounds like you've been through a lot and you are trying to work on yourself and improve and heal. That's really brave and so hard! Self love and believing you are worthy of forgiveness and respect and compassion begins with giving it to yourself first, freely and repeatedly, and it is a huge step in your journey and will be a huge relief if you can get there.
I really really recommend trying to find some counseling so you don't have to face your fears and demons alone. I don't know what you've been through but it sounds like there's been loss, drugs, and you may be battling seriously low self-worth. It's beyond valuable to have someone neutral and trained to point out your patterns and show you other perspectives and options. If counseling isn't an option, this book was great for me: Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Life. I also loved A New Earth.
I'm glad you are investing time and energy in healing, growing and learning from your past. It is extremely hard and extremely worth it!
I don’t have a solution to stop the chafing, but I do have something to help after. This stuff. It’s technically diaper rash cream. I tried it on chafing from pads and it worked beautifully. My fiancé is a big guy and does struggle with chafing on his thighs and it works wonders there too.
This suppository isn't sold as a probiotic but has all the types of lactobacillus that I've read are super good for the vagina: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JMC1K35/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_DB4W2C7PEYRF0WAT1FE6
It could potentially be dry or dead skin from an infection. Maybe a pH issue?
I would honestly start with a probiotic. I like this one from Amazon because of the specific strains of probiotics that are good for vaginal health. Rounds of antifungals and antibiotics can throw your biome balance off and cause issues that don't necessarily show up on tests.
I read a medical journal article from a few years ago talking about recurring BV. GYNs refuse to believe it for some unknown reason, but the current antibiotic regimens lead to recurring BV because they fail to account for the formation of a biofilm (which, according to said article, is essential for BV). The researchers looked at some other treatments and found that probiotics alone can break up these biofilms if they contain the proper strains of bacteria.
A quote from the article:
>L. reuteri RC-14 and L. rhamnosus GR-1 were able to incorporate themselves into BV-biofilm, composed by G. vaginalis and A. vaginae, causing both the disruption of the biofilm structure and bacterial cell death
I had recurring BV/Yeast, and this is what I have done:
It's kept it at bay, and I don't have any pain or itchiness anymore. I also don't have weird discharge anymore! For someone who dealt with yeast for years then a cycle of yeast/BV... it has been a lifesaver.
Try some probiotics in addition to any other treatment. I recommend this one from Amazon, only because it was the only one I could find that had various strains that were specified and good for vaginal health. Boric acid helped me too. I was in a BV/Yeast cycle for quite some time before the probiotics and boric acid treatments.
Have you tried taking probiotics? It’s not just good for your gut but consistent in maintaining your ph levels balanced down there. I have eczema and sometimes even a bubble bath can be a trigger for itching and yeast infection but I have had zero breakouts since taking probiotics. There are loads of women’s probiotics on amazon but I swear on this product: https://www.amazon.ca/Probiotic-Prebiotics-Crantiva-Cranberry-D-Mannose/dp/B077TZDBBR (they are also made in Canada)
I use ones with a downstream like this hose type or a little jug (and a bit of tissue for friction), and the water tends to run down rather than too far front.
I’ve never had an issue with cross contamination and it always gets me squeaky clean! I only use soap for general cleanings/shower.
witch hazel. if you're wary of putting witch hazel near your vag you can dilute it with some water (or rose water, which hydrates the skin). helps a lot with itching (immediate relief) helps a lot with inflammation.
I've also had luck with sudocrem (they only sell this in the UK), which is an antiseptic that speeds the healing process.
exfoliation also helps a lot. could be a body scrub, but oils sometimes build up so one could also use a body exfoliating towel (great for washing your back, too)
something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Buddha-Bath-Exfoliating-Washcloth-ROUGH/dp/B073954QRQ
This 100 times.
I see a specialist for chronic yeast infections. He has me use these probiotics every Sunday night vaginally. When I told my regular OBGYN she about had a fit and wanted to know why I was doing that and I explained how many moons ago I was positive for a yeast infection that I didn’t even know I had and the practice referred me to this specialist. Turns out I grow super rare yeast like a damn farm and it took a ridiculous amount of testing to figure this out and a ton of unnecessary treatments and pain trying to treat the wrong yeast bc only 1% of people have my super special treatment resistant mega yeast.
So I told her I was going to listen to the specialist and keep using boric acid and these specific probiotics as he prescribed.
She’s still my regular OBGYN bc she friggin called him to learn more and better counsel her patients with chronic yeast infections.
So doctors aren’t perfect and don’t know everything. Now I wouldn’t just trust random internet strangers or mix RXs with something without consulting a doctor, but if you know something is up with your body and you aren’t getting results, never be afraid to change doctors or have a consult for another opinion.
I’d still be suffering if I hadn’t pushed so hard about my yeast being weird and not behaving as it should.

So, I have recently found out about NSAIDS (like ibuprofen or naproxen) being used to reduce the amount of blood loss in your period. I read more about it because it’s a bit counterintuitive. NSAIDS are known for causing thinner blood and blood loss. NSAIDS work by inhibiting prostaglandin production, which is the same chemical that makes your uterus contract.
I took some on my last cycle and it was lighter. It may have been coincidence, so I’m going to have to experiment around with it because it doesn’t work for all women.
I have an iron deficiency without anemia. Apparently, the signs of a ferritin (aka “iron”) deficiency are exactly the same signs of anemia. The cause is most definitely my heavy periods.
Here is a link to more info about that and other treatments. (This obviously isn’t the only research I’ve done, but it gives a brief overview of everything.) DO NOT try to mess around with NSAIDS like this without a doctor/provider’s supervision. They are high doses and can be really dangerous if taken improperly.
Edit: typos because I can’t English.
I took like 2 gels after lunch. Best to take with a meal cause it suppresses any after taste like if you burp it. But you can take it at night. This is what I took
Herbal Roots Oil of Oregano Herbal Roots
It’s very unlikely you are pregnant, but if you are, it could take as long as another full week before a test might show positive. If you haven’t already, get a package of strip pregnancy tests on Amazon, something like this

Then you can test every few days without spending a fortune.
It's basically laser hair removal at home. I needed a lot of treatments and the professional service was $50 a pop for q tiny area, now I can treat as much as I want, whenever I want. They don't sell the device model I use anymore but it's something like this https://www.amazon.com/At-Home-Removal-Permanent-removal-Painless/dp/B0828JD1WF. I can vouch for the Silkn brand working on me, but their cheapest model is up to $300 (I bought the older model for $150) so maybe tbe other one is a better choice now. It works best on fairer skin and dark hair, like regular laser hair removal. I learned about it from a trans sub. My leg hair is now so thin and clear that I only shave if I want the smooth feeling of having no hair at all. You have to shave before using it, so I haven't done much in my pubic area because I hate shaving there but I should just get it over with. You only have to do it every two weeks. It took 2-3 months on my legs to get great results, but since pubic hair is thicker it might take longer.
hi!! sorry to hear it — I've had BV on and off for 5+ years but you're definitely not doomed to have recurrent BV. I hear you on strange, shitty, and embarrassing!!
I haven't used boric acid before but I found this article to be super helpful on understanding what BV is. For me, probiotics have also been essential in regrowing the good bacteria and rebalancing my microbiome. Try these if you want — they worked well for me — and good luck! ❤️

I started using an epilator a few weeks ago. Since you have a nerve condition I’m not sure if it’s be for you though. The first time using it hurts like a B, however, my legs stayed smooth for about 3 weeks and my arm pits are the smoothest they’ve ever been. I have thick coarse hair too and I could never get a close enough shave on my pits and they always looked like there was a 5 ‘o’ clock shadow. I am too much of a coward to use it anywhere near my crotch though. I have to say that the third time using it was pretty painless.
This is the one I have:
Seconding the Lumma disc! I tried 4 different types of cups first - would always wake up to a flood. My lumma holds back the tide.
I use an overnight pad as backup, and bought one of these gorilla grip mattress pads as well because I’m paranoid.
The mattress pad works better than a towel and doesn’t move around. It’s saved me from changing the sheets more than once!
I use Athena cup from Amazon cause it was the cheapest ($15) and it works great!! I replace it about once a year. Make sure you get the black color because the clear gets stained brown after a while.
I love these-

I love this Philips one-blade hybrid shaver. I just did some "maintenance" today and it was a breeze. No razor bumps or in-grows for me!
Last time I used a tampon is quite a while ago so I might have spoken too soon. I do remember having OB tampons in the past that had an applicator, then again it was quite a while ago so not 100%. Menstrual cups ftw!
I’ve never had BV so I can’t be much help there but as far as the probiotic I would definitely recommend trying a better one. I use a women’s probiotic that is physician formulated. It’s in a pink and white bottle and I get it on amazon. Kinda expensive (about $25 a bottle) but it works for me
I usually experience cold chills on the first 3 days.
On unrelated note, did you try this app? It's a great tracker with a lot of info in it and made me realize the symptoms I've had weren't just my imagination.
Boric acid capsules could help reset your ph (do not ingest only insert vaginally) wear a pantyliner and the discharge will be gritty for like a day while the boric acid dissolves. But this helps to keep your flora in balance. https://www.amazon.com/Vaginal-Suppositories-pHresh-Promotes-Supports/dp/B07HFHNZWW/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=boric+acid+suppositories&qid=1597538051&sprefix=boric+&sr=8-7
I highly recommend the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It’s all about the Fertility Awareness Method and how to understand tracking/reading your basal body temperature. I also recommend the app Fertility Friend. It has a really good algorithm for calculating your ovulation date after a couple cycles of tracking BBT. I used both when I tracked my cycles for trying to conceive. It could easily be used for avoiding pregnancy too.
After a few cycles you really start to learn your body’s patterns. You can track all your symptoms and cervical fluid if you want, but I found simply taking my BBT was enough to learn my cycle. I never actively checked my cervical fluid, but would notice it’s changes and mark it in my app.
I’d also recommend looking into some wearable BBT trackers. It makes the process a whole lot easier. TempDrop and Ava are popular ones. I used a simple oral thermometer, but I found more consistent BBT readings by taking my temp vaginally. OvuSense is a wearable BBT tracker that you wear like a tampon overnight. I considered getting one of those.
Definitely start with the book though. It’s really informative and will give you a great place to start.
What probiotics are you taking? Are they specifically for feminine health? I take one women’s probiotic a day 25 billion and it works! No smell or annoying visits to the doctor!
I got the Funcy brand off Amazon and they've worked well for me. I've never had any other brand so I'm inexperienced, but I like them. They do make some noise during movement if you're not wearing bottoms that are snug on your bottom. So, I can hear I them while I'm walking with my pants off or wearing loose lounge shorts. Can't hear them with jeans or leggings or yoga pants. But I've heard that's just something that comes with the territory of period underwear.
I think if I were to look for another product, I would look for 100% cotton. That's what I wear the other 80% of my life when I'm not menstruating. I have a physical job and my meds make me extra sweaty so it's not great down there by the end of my shift. Haven't had any yeast infection flares up, though, so that's positive.
Edit: here's link
I take this one which I buy off the shelf from the drugstore but the 6 billion cultures isn't accurate because they die when put in dry storage. I often take more than the bottle suggests because they aren't as effective as the refrigerated version so I'll take a handful or two the night before and maybe a 1-3 times over a week spread out.
The nurse I spoke to once said that it was better to take once and awhile instead of every day so my body didn't adjust to it which seems to work for me. Boric acid also really helps, I just bought some off amazon and they work fine, usually it resets mild imbalances with just one max two nights of using it. Hang in there, as these things come up more often you'll get used to dealing with them and that anxiety goes away. I think it's just knowing the experience and removing all the questions that helps the most for me.
I have severe UTIs. I bought a bidet on Amazon that connects to the sink and has an on/off lever. You have to run the water to warm up, but it’s been a lifesaver. It also comes with an attachment to hang from the toilet tank. SmarterFresh Faucet Bidet Sprayer... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01E4H7DTA?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I relate to this so much. I have ADHD and some sensory processing issues with it. How close of a shave do you need? I just got this trimmer/shaver and it does the job for me. I also did waxing for a bit and it was awesome. It wasn’t too pricey where I went despite living in an expensive area, and they had good reviews everywhere. And the hair doesn’t grow back for so long the peace of mind was so worth it. My only warning is that the sensory experience of a hairless buttcrack is… something.
I have this one too! Amazon Link
Okay.. so sitz bath is super huge and common in Korea (Korean by the way) and they will have it in every postpartum care centers to help natural care for hemorrhoids. I posted a thread related to that topic but usually Korean mothers will just get soaked in plain water or add in mugwort herbs. I highly recommend this one that I've been using for awhile on Amazon. Hope it helps for ya!
First, my heart goes out to you and this suffering. I’ve been there!
Years ago when I first started having sex with my husband, I got a UTI every time, no matter what I did. I went to a urologist in tears and this kind old Spanish doc asked me, “you and your boyfriend, you have a lot of sex?”
He prescribed Macrobid low level antibiotics to take “as needed” and it saved my sanity and my sex life. Once I had a baby, things shifted around and the UTIs hardly happened, but I still have a bottle of Macrobid in the medicine cabinet and would grab it if the house were on fire.
Fast forward to my husband dying and now I have sex with my boyfriend. I get BV flair ups any time he ejaculates in me, no matter what I do. So I use a boric acid suppository after sex with him every single time and I’m A-OK. I tried to quit them once, wondering if they were necessary and was a mess!
My OBGYN doesn’t see any issue with my routine. She said it’s clearly working and we don’t need to mess with it. I get these from Amazon: NutraBlast Boric Acid Vaginal... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07212DK9F
I had this once after I had a particularly bad UTI that lasted for a while. After antibiotics, the symptoms and feelings lingered for weeks afterwards despite having no infection. I took this: https://www.amazon.es/Cysticlean-240-PAC-D-Manosa-sobres/dp/B07V2611FN and was cured. I think if you took any D-Mannose tablets it would have the same effect. It is really worth a try, there aren't harmful effects and it helped me so much.
I was given vaginal probiotics by Evvy because I participated in a research study of theirs. I later was prescribed lactobacillus suppositories to a compounding pharmacy by my naturopath. If you join the Evvy Facebook group, people have a lot of suggestions for this. The main one I've heard is taking the Azo brand women's probiotic, transferring it to a vegetable capsule, and inserting vaginally. This is it: https://www.azoproducts.com/product/vaginal-health/complete-feminine-balance-probiotic/ and vegetable capsules you can buy in bulk on Amazon.
Lactoferrin is also really important for getting the good bacteria to stick around and Evvy often recommends this, which I think is oral: https://www.amazon.com/vH-essentials-OptiBalance-Probiotic-Jumpstart/dp/B08C387XYK But if you have CV, probiotics are not recommended, so I'd definitely do the Evvy test itself first if you haven't yet!

As for how, I think I ended up taking them maybe every 3 days so about a third of my cycle, for 2-3 months, and still occasionally for maintenance. I found doing every day to be a little too much. I think some brands will say 2 weeks on, then 2 weeks off (the "off" weeks should include your period).

Lactoferrin is also really important for getting the good bacteria to stick around and Evvy often recommends this, which I think is oral: https://www.amazon.com/vH-essentials-OptiBalance-Probiotic-Jumpstart/dp/B08C387XYK If you have CV, probiotics are not recommended, so I'd definitely do the test if you haven't yet!
Add d-mannose to your beverages. It works great for me to prevent UTIs.
Did you have your Evvy consult yet? Thet gave me a treatment plan for my particular bacteria and a lot of good guidance! There's also an Evvy Facebook group where you could post your results.
The most important takeaway for me has been to be sure to replenish with good bacteria afterwards. I did vaginal clindamycin for 7 days and followed it up with vaginal probiotics for like 2 months and then still occasionally for maintenance. There's a protocol on myvagina.com that can guide you on vaginal probiotics. Evvy often recommends these, though I think they're oral: https://www.amazon.com/vH-essentials-OptiBalance-Probiotic-Jumpstart/dp/B08C387XYK Lactoferrin is really important for getting the good bacteria to actually stick around.
I've never had that happen, but I definitely would put a pause on both tampons and baths until things are feeling completely better! A really key part of treatment for a vaginal infection is following up the antibiotics with vaginal probiotic suppositories. This is what helps to actually repopulate with good bacteria / replenish the lactobacillus that may have been wiped out.
There are protocols on myvagina.com that you can look into for this but I believe their BV protocol suggest transferring the Azo women's probiotic to a vegetable capsule, to be inserted vaginally. And the folks at Evvy recommend taking this: https://www.amazon.com/Probiotics-Formulated-Probiotic-Supplement-Acidophilus/dp/B079H53D2B Lactoferrin is important to get the bacteria to stick around locally in the vagina.
And have you done an Evvy test? It lays out your entire vaginally microbiome so you can see all bacteria present and tailor your treatment/how to move forward. You can order it on your own: https://www.evvy.com/
I have had YIs in the past. Usually associated with taking antibiotics or intercourse while menstruating. I just started this one: Surebounty Probiotics for Women,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NPY3XMG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share So can’t really speak on how well it works but it has all the strains that I’ve seen recommended on this sub to support vaginal health.
Have you repopulated with good bacteria via probiotic suppositories? Evvy often recommends this one: https://www.amazon.com/vH-essentials-OptiBalance-Probiotic-Maintenance/dp/B08C38MSXR Or you could try the BV protocol suggested on myvagina.com that involves transferring the Azo women's probiotic to a veggie capsule to be inserted vaginally. It's important to make sure your probiotic has lactoferrin, or to take lactoferrin separately, because that's what gets the good bacteria to stick around vaginally.
On another note, I found out I have an issue breaking down biofilms, and after taking biofilm disruptors per the guidance of my naturopath, I did a MicroGen test that showed a laundry list of bacteria. So I seem to have an embedded bladder infection. Worth looking into!
Came to say this. You definitely want to test the ph. Acv and baking soda are on opposite sides of the ph scale. Which you should use depends on the ph correction you need.
I got these ones.
Natureland Vaginal Health pH Test... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RSNCF4H?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I feel like this company should pay me for promotion at this point, but it sounds like you’re very dry. And in that case things could cause pain.
I’d take a break from the suppository for a night and get some good clean love moisture restore. Go for the whole applicator full and see if that helps. It’s ph balancing and will also help if you’re struggling with BV.
As to whether you’re doing it wrong- probably not. It sounds like you’re just sensitive to them.
Here’s a links to the stuff I mean because the company makes a few different products. (All great, in my opinion. We recommend it at work often.) Good Clean Love Restore... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BFL5SK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Yes you can order those tests online. They send through the mail and you swab yourself and mail back. They test for lots of things so they’ll show you good and bad bacteria plus percentages. You might want to look into different probiotics. You need various ones for Vaginal microbiome. L Crispatus for instance. This is a good one that has multiple strains for the vagina https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NKBX6P8?aaxitk=843c691f61bad74f8a1b95810e593303&pf_rd_p=25aed8c3-4e5c-4864-a8f5-da4669df3890&pf_rd_r=9GMNJ9XTCYFGJ2W9CYBE&pd_rd_wg=uF7CI&pd_rd_w=Cs80E&pd_rd_r=9cfa61c1-08c0-4717-9d66-63107c91f46b&am...
You might look into VagiBiom as well which is a vaginal suppository with pre AND probiotics. The thing is you don’t want to do the vaginal if you don’t know what the state of your vagina is. There is such a thing as too much lacrobacillus too. If you take a Juno test it’ll show you.
Lactic acid gel will keep her at the proper pH, it'll weed out unwanted yeast and keep the lactobacillus she wants healthy. Heres what I use, Balance Active https://www.amazon.com/dp/B012TT7FYS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
This is the one I share with my man! It works so good! I can even trim my butthole area with no concern for cuts. I usually use it after I shower, then I rinse to wash away the hair. You could also use it before the shower, just shave your labia first then your butthole area, then disinfect the blade.
Hey! It is very hard. What i do that works is use a electric trimmer. Sorry for the graphic description but it’s kinda needed. In the shower I spread open my labia with my hand and move the outer away from the inner, then I pull it taught and use the 0 or 1 guard setting on a bikini area trimmer and just run it over the hair I see. Do not use shaving cream with it because it relies on the hair standing up to be able to trim it, it works better dry too bc it’s not shaving your skin it’s just slicing off the hair. It’s great. And then no razor blades running across that delicate skin.
This is the bikini trimmer I use and it works great! I use it for all of my pubic hair
I feel for u deeply! I’ve was dealing with this for a LONG time too. First bv was classic fishy and then the whole time after that Its was the same exact fermented smell!!! With yeast and bacteria. I’m actually very relieved because I had searched and searched and had never gotten answers about this fermented smell!!
1) Go to doc, get another stupid BV diagnosis, and try the Metronidazole vaginal gel! Just make sure the applicator is new and clean to put it in before bed every night after a shower.
2)To try and assist the Metrogel and prevent reoccurrence get/take: —-woman’s probiotics that must have Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Lactobacillus crispatus. Take 1 or 2 every day w meal for the entirety of your gel rx! Keep the bottle refrigerated. This is my favoriteright now
—— (here I would say use boric acid but you cannot unfortunately)
——Take cranberry pills, every day to boost vaginal/menstrual, and especially urinary tract health… these r my favorite
——ofc neverrr use scented soap, only dove unscented sensitive bar soap on external/vulva only.
—- NO sex with men without a condom(NO germs or cum in you, it will fuck it all back up and u will have BV again) and make sure his hands are washed with the unscented soap right before.
— full coverage cotton underwear only, loose pants. (Absolutely NO thongs or tight underwear)
—-- and after you finish your prescription time, continue the probiotics and cranberry pills every day.
—-if you want to be extra about it and take no chances: buy unscented dye free gentle natural laundry detergent and use that on all your underwear and sleep bottoms.
I'm in the UK sorry! Could you order them from the UK maybe? Also caneston do a BV pessary too, but idk if they work sorry. They are on Amazon, but idk how shipping and all that works to the US. I really hope you can find them or something with the same ingredients!
I had recurrent BV for years. Always came right after my period. I saw many docs. One even had the audacity to tell me it was because of "sticking dirty things" in my vagina. What a fucking load of shit.
Anywho, I started taking these daily after a round of antibiotics...if I need to pay a dollar a day to never have BV again, I absolutely will!
I’m 19 too and I dealt with a recurring yeast infection for about a year. I went to multiple doctors and this one doctor finally gave me something that worked. It’s a cream that you out inside of your hole. When I had the yeast infection my left lip was swollen and now its gone somewhat and way better than it was before. I get random itches too but I don’t know if that’s normal. But anyways check out this product and look at the reviews if you’re unsure because this really worked. 3 day cream
I think this would work, just be consistent with aplication as calendula has proven just as effective but it has a delayed response!
I am using the linked one because it's easier to spread around. I only a very small amount 2 times a day on outer labia and in any folds, in addition to the calendula suppositories at night.
I would think about seeing a gyno, either now or in the future. I had this issue. I just avoided tampons until I got a little older and did manage to insert them eventually, but it was still painful. My gyno diagnosed me with pelvic floor dysfunction and referred me to a pelvic floor physical therapist. That was super helpful! I also got started using dilators at home. Here is an example of dilators, but there are cheaper options out there too!
In the end, I ended up having vestibulodynia and needed surgery to remove tissue that was really painful and causing my pelvic floor muscles to tense up in the first place.
Highly recommend the book When Sex Hurts.
I make my own! Bought this boric and vegan capsules off Amazon!
(Took the risk. Since I know people say not to purchase food and beauty products from them due to quality issues... but this has worked great). I wear non-latex gloves while handling the powder, and make sure not to have any fans or air blowing since you REALLY don't want to inhale it. Though I found if I just scoop it in it's the perfect amount. And since it's cheaper to make them, I'm less stingy with how many I use now. So it doesn't matter to me if some capsules have less than others.
Good luck! Let me know how it goes!
The soap in this kit (it's sold separately too) is SUPER gentle and pH balanced. Mostly lactic acid and aloe. Highly recommended.

You need to exfoliate for several days after you shave too to stop the ingrown hairs. I had the same issue and this solved it entirely. Also be sure you are moisturizing after you exfoliate.
This brush is a little rough at first, but your skin will eventually adapt.

I've NEVER gotten a yeast infection from antibiotics when I use this! Just space out your antibiotics when you take the probiotics. For example, take antibiotic in am, probiotic afternoon, and antibiotic in pm (if you're to take the antibiotics twice a day). Otherwise, take one in the morning and the other in the evening.
They are soft gels, like vitamins. I’ve been taking this brand:
SIBU Omega-7 Softgels, Pure Organic Himalayan Sea Buckthorn, Max Potency, 60ct https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002SKISOA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_PA5ZNX5JCWTDYX8JFPEY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Have you talked to a gynecologist? There may be a medical reason you aren’t staying lubricated during sex.
Antihistamines can dry you out.
Perhaps you aren’t actually turned on. Check out Come As You Are. All women and people who have sex with women should read it. It also might give you insight into your situation.
Highly recommend this lube. It has no glycerin and has never fucked up my ph. Lasts for a long time. Sliquid Intimate Lubricant H20,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009RF9H8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I used to take two femdophilus, then I switched to taking two rephresh pro b, now I'm taking two jarrow dophilus daily. So about 10 billion probiotics? Is this the garden of life one you take? https://www.amazon.com/Garden-Life-Formulated-Probiotics-Guaranteed/dp/B00Y8MP4G6/ref=sr\_1\_7?crid=L6X8U8PZBV76&keywords=garden%2Bof%2Blife%2Bwomens&qid=1652980903&sprefix=garden%2Bof%2Blife%2Bwomen%2Caps%2C76&sr=8-7&th=1
I have to agree with others, laser hair removal is such a blessing and 100% recommend, but if you can’t make sure you have a good razor and exfoliate are the 2 biggest keys to success.. and take your time! I use to use the mens original barbasol shaving cream too, but since switching my razors I get lazy and use my regular soap and does fine.
Razor: Schick Hydro Dry Skin For men razors
Exfoliation: use bath gloves! Amazing and with lotion after you’re softer than a baby especially with continued use! My man always compliments

It’s multi-use - you can use it after sex, when you’re itchy or feel like maybe you have BV or yeast, etc.
It just… works. I really don’t know how. It may sting a bit at first but it goes away quickly and then becomes very soothing.
I use Boric Life https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07212DK9F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_RP4Q8F8BQ8S597Q4EWCV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 from Amazon. I love it SO MUCH. You can get it with or without the inserts. You’re supposed to use it once a day, right when you’re about to go to sleep for at least a week to really clear everything out. I use it for my BV, after sex or when I just feel like something is off & I noticed a difference literally within one day of use. I made a post about this in this sub
Honestly, I don't think this had anything to do with you. These all sound like "him" problems. I would listen to your GYN. We don't have enough information on your relationship to make a lot of judgements but he kind of sounds like an asshole. I think he had sensation problems, period. Maybe he used to "death grip" and is now just used to that no matter what he does. But the major red flag here to me, is him comparing you to other girls and their vaginas. That's just a total asshole move to me. If he wanted to have sex with other girls, he could have. But he was with you. Not other girls. What was the point of saying those things, other than to make you feel bad?? I know its hard to feel good about yourself after he told you all these things but I don't think you have the problem here.
I would put the focus on loving yourself and accepting yourself the way you are. I would recommend reading something like Come as You Are. It really helped me think about myself and sex in a better frame of mind.
I took renew life and AZO Cranberry Urinary Tract Health Dietary Supplement last time. It cured my Candida but 1 week after, I was positive again. This time I just ordered https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B8BSGPL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
So they are capsules that you insert into your vagina and that's it! Very simple and very effective in most cases.
And hun, I feel you, so much. I feel like my life has been one giant yeast infection.
You may already know some of this, but after swimming, immediately remove your wet bottoms, do not wear them wet for long, as the moisture really helps the yeast thrive. Alcohol also will feed the yeast. You can also look into a diet that will starve the candida, as they are probably thriving in your gut as well as your vagina. I've also started blow drying my vagina after the shower and before putting on underwear to help prevent unnecessary moisture. Just some things to consider.
I swear by these if you need to repopulate your vaginal environment with protective lactobacillus. They only contain Lactobacillus Crispatus which is the most beneficial vaginal strain. It's a powder, so I also bought size 0 vegetable capsules, filled them with the powder and inserted them for a few nights. I was able to restore my microbiome with them.

There's a book about this that helped me, even though you don't prefer g spot orgasms; that fluid is made there.
Let me link the book
Is this what you use? And do you insert it into your vagina? How often?
I've been looking for a vaginal probiotic and can seem to only find oral ones and I'm nervous to put them up my hooha.
I use this: https://www.amazon.com/Schick-Quattro-Trimstyle-Bikini-Trimmer/dp/B001TH8Q72
I like my pubic hair very short. Heck, I even shave bald most of the time but this trimmer/razor combo is great in general.
I even use the trimmer to groom my super hairy arms.
