> it was our choice to have a family
That's a really shitty thing for a manager to say.
Good luck. Here's a parting thought:
>Teamwork is the quintessential contradiction of a society grounded in individual achievement. - Marvin Weisbord
The tax penalty does not kick in until you have been without insurance for more than 3 months in a 12 month period. But ANY day in that month counts as having insurance for that month.
So, in this case, you do not have ANY gap at all.

I think it is better to manage your hybrid work in team-based since the needs for each team is different. Also, for easier collaboration with other team I would suggest to use project management software.
have you done one of these type of books from amazon?
Is it a live case study or just a presentation/powerpoint?
either way be sure to have a good narrative, be communicative, and invite their participation.
I'll give you a free advice. You'll agree one day that I was right. Spentd from 6 to 12 month of your life on leetcode.com. Once you feel confident on algorithms and data structure then run don't walk.
I spent 7 years of my life with this shit. Just trust me, the grass is greener outside of ibm. Don't thank. I wish I could get such advice earlier...
If you're worried, buy a travel router and use it to connect to a personal vpn server in the US. You can use surfshark.com or whoever. Then connect your IBM laptop to the travel router's wifi before connecting to the IBM vpn. Its pretty much how every digital nomad in the world manages to get around country restrictions. Google Slate Travel Router if looking for hardware examples.
Do you have any coding experience or related education? IBM has a wide range of tech and uses a ton of different languages. They will probably just look for some basic tech/coding skills. It shouldn't be a super hard interview like you would get at somewhere like Google or Facebook.
If you don't have the experience, learn the basics of some programming language. Python and JS are a safe bet. Also, learning some HTML/CSS will put you in a good spot for web dev.
Once you have the basics down start doing some leetcode problems tagged with IBM. You would probably only need easy level to pass an apprentice interview. I know that IBM used to actually use FizzBuzz as a screener. It's a famous question that any dev should be able to solve if they know about the modulus operator in their language.
No worries, but instead of rushing things just ask how to make sure im not spammer? check here:

FTFY http://www.expatistan.com/cost-of-living/comparison/sydney/bratislava ( almost 50 % cheaper to live where you'r at ) and the fact that the Euro goes further then the AUD currently ( in PPP ) DOES NOT MATTER in this case because it is already calculated by that site. Surprised why you'r getting downvotes to be honest.
there's a very basic overview of the current architecture for IBM Cloud here: https://cloud.ibm.com/docs/infrastructure/network-infrastructure?topic=network-infrastructure-quemu-basic-virtual-machine
It's a pretty standard KVM-based OSS stack, but they do have a lot of "special sauce" wrapping it up on the management side so it's probably a good mix of proprietary stuff as well. Compared to other places at IBM, Cloud seems like a growth area and a good place to grow and get more experience, but it's a large organization and really comes down to what team you end up on. Definitely worth inquiring a bit more on that aspect if you're on the fence.
Also look at this, training for interviewers provided at IBM:

That said, each interviewer will often vary, so be prepared for anything else.
OP made a separate post instead of adding the message to this thread.
The book they were looking for was Think: A Biography of the Watsons and IBM by William H. Rodgers
