Update: The tank on the right is also ripped from World of Tanks - https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/premium-shop/m4a3e8-fury-offer-0320/
Here's a comparison - https://abload.de/img/12121212akz0.gif
You can see part of the original tank under it on the front-right (our left), lol.
Tommy has been saying the equivalent of "never give up, never surrender" for years. This is his legacy and The Secret (click thru for link) tells him he will succeed because Tom never loses.
Yes it would make a lot more sense for Amico games to be part of a value series on the Switch, with 3,000 other pieces of software of various quality. Games like Astrosmash and Farkle could be marginally better than some of the Unity asset flips and mobile ports on there. It would be the best way to gauge the actual interest in their stuff, on a widely-used, popular platform.
Of course you need look no farther than the Amico Club mobile app to see that even for free, there just isn't that much interest in what Amico has to offer. Only ~5,000 downloads in the past year.
I wouldn't mind trying out Night Stalker and Cloudy Mountain on Nintendo Switch if they come out. If they die in development hell, that's OK too, because there's no shortage of games to play on other platforms, and I'd just as soon NOT put money into Tommy's pockets.
It will be like after the 2016 election where Hillary wrote a whole book on what went wrong and blamed absolutely everything and everyone except the primary cause - except the front cover of the book gave away the true ending.

It was an ironic hint at an almost self aware moment for her. I can't help but think whomever designed the cover was in on it.
The base unit should be able to run jzintv just like any Android phone made in the last 10 years. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.libsdl.jzintv4droid2&hl=en_US&gl=US
The controllers are pretty much dumb input devices, which I think will be disappointing to anyone expecting something more state of the art.
"obviously we know the amico is not being sold anywhere,"
I mean...easy search on Amazon...
And yet, I can buy 200 of them for $81 right now. Green Earth 9-inch, 200-Count, 3-Compartment, Compostable Clamshell, Natural Bagasse (Sugarcane Fiber), Take-Out/to-Go Food Boxes - Biodegradable Containers, Hinged Lid - Microwave-Safe - Gluten-Free https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CN9HDQM/
And those bags you can still "pre-order" on Amazon.de - https://www.amazon.de/-/en/dp/B08FP54QW1
> * Perfect for safely transporting the Amico console on the way to visit friends > * High quality, fluffy with numerous pockets to store accessories
It's hilarious because it really is just a boilerplate tote bag template with the two pouches that you see everywhere. And the pouches have harsh velcro on both sides, which would look just great on the nice plastic controllers sliding in and out of them and scratching them all to hell.
Hmm, weird. It still shows up as available to pre-order on the Canadian Amazon website...
Maybe that's not been updated yet, I don't know, but seems weird to cancel pre-orders but still allow them to be taken.
I'd like to think they were sensibly run and not headed for bankruptcy before Tommy took over, but I can't imagine they had much income from licensed games and merchandise. Are any of the game collections other than Evercade being produced currently or the flashback consoles?
Here's a t-shirt: https://www.amazon.com/Big-Bang-Theory-Astrosmash-Intellivision/dp/B00CEJUR3A (#1,194,872 in Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry, #182,618 in Men's Novelty T-Shirts, #498,679 in Men's Fashion)
Based on the job postings, they pay embarrassingly low salaries to workers and have way too many executives. Of course, they could be lying about the employee count or rent offices for photo shoots. Who knows what's real when a company is run by a compulsive liar.
The Android TV callout is a good one. Claims its based on a mobile phone like a Moto G inside may be off however. The console is probaby based off existing Android TV box hardware. There are a dozen different options on Amazon for Android TV hardware all with specs close to Amico.
Amazon Choice:
T95 Android 10.0 TV Box, YAGALA Android Box with Allwinner H616 Quad-Core 64bit ARM Corter-A53 CPU Mali G31 MP2 GPU 2GB RAM 16GB ROM 6K 4K Output 2.4GHz+5GHz WiFi 100M LAN Enternet BT5.0
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XMKQ4LF/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_a_FJWD7DVFCPZBJJERNMZ5
The console is likely based on one of these designs and honestly not that shocking as Android was known. Note they are all quad core not 8 core so my guess Amico may actually be quad.
The actual IE engineered and expensive parts are the controllers. Those are likely based on ESP32 or equivalent and Arduino libraries? Arduino is incredibly popular in the maker community and wifi/bluetooth, sensors, small screens, buttons, speakers, etc are readily available off the shelf parts in small quantities and designs can be quickly prototyped. But the wheel with leds looks like all custom made parts. The wheel is the unique engineering work plus shells.
Yeah, and German Amazon says "This item will be released on December 31, 2022." when it comes to the controller, games, and everything else Amico related that can be preordered. Again, that's a placeholder date. That's how those are.
I stand corrected.

Looks like there's a lot of phones that still use it that you can buy today.
Thanks! I just did another google image search for "Top Down Skiing Game" and I came across: "Grand Mountain Adventure", on Android. I'm not sure how I missed it, earlier... The art style / perspective appear to be very close.

On one hand you have to hand it to Intellivision for refusing to leave their weird late 70's aesthetic that caters exclusively to Boomers; on the other hand it's almost certainly going to be a port of this:
