There absolutely were. The Western Allies ran into hilariously outdated vehicles like the Renault FT and TKS tankettes. The Free French also captured some unused Char B1 bis tanks, more as a status symbol than anything else, but it goes to show that the Germans had a large amount of vehicles lying around without the crews or resources to throw them into battle for a desperate defense.
As for the Soviets, I have more detailed records. After the end of the war the GRU counted 5000 German tanks "transferred after capitulation". Generalmajor Mueller-Hillebrand reported in a post-war interrogation that 12545 tanks and SPGs were "ready to use" as of March 1945, plus over 800 vehicles deemed worthy only for security service and training, so that's a fairly realistic number. Presumably the Western Allies captured a good number of tanks as well, but I don't have those counts. Some adjustments must also be made for "creative accounting" (for instance, looking at the number of Tiger II tanks lost reveals that the losses reported by the Generalmajor are vastly incomplete), but a few thousand leftover vehicles would be realistic.
The French also operated a battalion of 50 Panther tanks after the war, which would mean that these were 50 tanks deemed suitable for post-war service. Presumably a whole lot more were captured that were not suitable. The British also captured entire factories, with "gently used" and brand new Panthers sent back to Britain for testing, in addition to inspection of hulls in various stages of manufacture.

Litteraly acknowledging how OP this arti is and not giving a sh*t, plus mocking those who complaing about it because they can't do anything about it. That's a nice "fuck you" from WG to its playerbase there.
The single Tiger that Japan purchased never left Europe, so no.
A Japanese delegation apparently studied them in Europe, then sold them back to Germany since there was really no way to ship them back.
At least according to this thread.
I have mentioned in my streams multiple times the horrible ergonomics of the Sherman Firefly. As a perfect example of what I am talking about, here is a photo of a Firefly gunner operating the MANUAL elevation handle while trying to aim the gun. Yes, that is UNDER the gun.

Teeeechnically it's not a Warcrime unless you fire upon the enemy while under another banner. The Q-Ships would hoist the White Ensign before opening fire. It's a dirty trick to be sure, but technically within the 'rules' of war
In fact, technically these Panther/M10s aren't warcrimes either, since they never fired upon anything Allied while they were disguised (since they never got the chance to)
https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/chieftain/The_Chieftains_Hatch_Panther_M10/
>They're the same vehicle. The vehicle was developed as a super-heavy tank designed to breach the Siegried Line fortifications, and so designated in the tank nomenclature, coming somewhere between T26 (Pershing), and T29 (the turreted 105mm tank eveyone at Tier VII loves). (T27 was taken by an armoured car and GMC). About 1945/46, I'd need to check, someone decided that the thing wasn't really a tank, and was more a self-propelled artillery piece. This it was redesignated to a Gun Motor Carriage, and the GMCs were way up the numbering list. T95 was available. Then, a year or so later, they decided that perhaps it actually was a tank after all, and renamed it back to T28. If anyone cares to look up the exact dates, the OCMs in question were OCM 27219 declaring it T95, and OCM 30958 turning it back into T28.
https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/chieftain/T28_and_T95/
In this link you can also see where the T28 we have in game comes from, basically made up by WG because they needed a tier 8 tank destroyer. So Gaijin basically did the same thing, because the T28 without the second set of tracks was never supposed to go into combat like that.
Currently, the NA guide leads to https://2018.worldoftanks.eu/select/ , you probably want https://2018.worldoftanks.com/select/ for NA.
Got a Lorraine 40 t for 20 bucks so I'm happy.
After he made that video he continued digging in the archives and found some comparative reports. You can see that the Sherman had fewer breakdowns per mile (14.22 per thousand miles vs. 31.68 for Cromwell) and required fewer man hours of maintenance.
The armor just weakened and shattered there from the repeat impacts. >A picture included as an attachment with the report shows one of the 3 Panthers used in the August, 1944 Isigny tests. Note how the plate has shattered around the hull MG bulge – a catastrophic failure indicative of the “edge effect”. This picture demonstrates the difficulty of interpreting firing tests when the shots fired are many, and the targets are few.
>Whether these were truly due to uneven quality of the armor (the Germans were adjusting the alloy content of their plates to compensate for shortages of some metals), or were due to the degradation of plates that were struck by multiple projectiles in close proximity is hard to asses. The shock waves that propagate through metal from powerful blows can weaken it, even if there is no visible damage or penetration. This is particularly true around the edges of the plate, where the shock waves can compound as they reflect back much like ripples at the edge of a pond of water. Modern tank design focuses on un-interrupted plates with no through-holes (no direct vision ports or hull machine guns) in order to minimize the number of edges in the plate. But the phenomenon of such “edge effects” was not well understood in 1944.
And I swear that article was just the first link I found when I googled "panther front plate 17pdr".

Before anyone comments about the name.
Read the image, it says T95 #2. This was taken when it was renamed from T28 to T95.
After a year, named back to T28 Super Heavy.

Solid post, and one I completely agree with.
There is so much space for improvement that a whole patch dedicated to QoL would only be a start. Battle Ratings, map design, gameplay modes, etcetera.
Sell me premium tanks and planes, by all means. But please don't cut pieces out of existing gameplay to monetize them even more.
(Give us EC on big maps for tanks and I'd be the happiest... World of Tanks is even doing something like that now)
Actually, the reverse, I have discovered, can be a problem.
A couple of years ago, I put up an April Fool’s article on my routine history column. https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/chieftain/T28_in_Korea/
It revolved around a massive, 100-ton tank of which the US built two. For some reason, the US records showed one as having been destroyed in a fire, the other scrapped, but 27 years later, one showed up sitting in a field. Obviously, public records for this vehicle are not.... complete and accurate.
I also dug up in the Archives some photographs of the vehicle which, if they had ever been published before, received almost zero circulation.
This, I thought, provided opportunity to invent some story about the vehicle being sent off to combat. My problem was that I was too good. I went to the extent of researching which ships may have made trans-Pacific transit at the right timeframe to carry this thing on the supposed jaunt to Korea. Indeed, the only obvious indicator that I was lying (other than the publication date, and the unusual fact that nobody had ever heard of this vehicle going overseas) was that the ship I named, if you looked it up, had a different sort of bow ramp than the one in the picture.
Of course, people don’t look at the date of the article, and it started making the rounds being presented as actual history. My follow-on article the next week, the first sentence was “guys, it was an April Fool’s thing, look at the date.”
I started damage control. I followed links to different forums, where I would register and post that it was a fake article. Two years later, such links were still being posted, when I stopped trying. Of course, many times, it’s not even a link to the earlier article with the date, just “I believe that I heard that T28 was sent to Korea....”
Cautionary lesson has been learned.
Funnily enough they actually can this Halloween patch as of today. It's obviously a test-bed for introducing more multi-turreted/double-barreled tanks in the future much like the April Fools event of Warthunder was a test-bed for later tank technologies like ERA (and possibly helicopters.)
Also to be fair, in WoT for a very long time there really wasn't much use using most tanks secondary gun, the only one I could think of that might be useful is the M3 Lee/M3 Grants 37mm since it actually faces very poorly armoured and lower tier tanks and probably in fringe cases of the Maus and E-100 shooting arty.
According to https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/chieftain/chieftains-hatch-al-fahd-best-tank-you-never-heard/
its for mostly political reasons and timing reasons. The US obviously didn't want people to buy someone else's tanks, so they put pressure on the Saudis who had been going to buy some, the Osorio beat the M1A1 in trials but when the US came out with the M1A2 they changed their minds and decided to go with that.
>In 1991, Saudi Arabia went back on their agreement, and ordered the M1A2 Abrams instead - a combination of positive media exposure of the M1A1, coupled with an already close relationship with Washington and a sizable war debt to the US, made the Saudi procurement of an M1 Abrams inevitable.
The government of Brazil had said before development started that they could not afford to pay for the whole thing so they would only buy tanks if the company exported tanks to help with the cost. Combine that with the end of the Cold War meaning that a lot of countries no longer needed as many tanks and a lot of decent tanks coming onto the market for cheap meant they couldn't find any foreigners to buy their tank which meant Brazil wasn't interested either. The company went bankrupt from the costs of development.
No. Not cash. WG added 'bonds' which can be used to buy improved equipment/directives.

P.S. Join the PC master race.
They did, though some of their names were adopted by the US. The British explicitly did not use "General" before the name though in case of confusion - that was a later US addition. By the time US Army Ordnance did put out official guidelines on tank names in '44 the Lee was largely out of US service and did not get mentioned. A variety of other "General" names were used though, like Sherman, Jackson, Chaffee, etc. The British did come up with some of them - these were adopted by the US troops and then later in the war were made official. The US did as well adopt the "General" naming scheme generally and ran with it (and still does). Considering the use of other "General" names came from the soldiery I think it's probably likely that Lee was referred to as Lee by US troops, at least colloquially, especially in places like North Africa where they were fighting alongside British troops. Just by the time names were made official there was no point wasting ink mentioning the M3 Lee.
There’s a reason. This. This is the reason.
They were smoking some good or bad stuff depending on interpretation
The Irish had a POW camp where, due to their neutrality, Allies and Axis combatants lived together. To prevent fights from breaking out, they gave everyone day passes on the honor system to go out into the town and enjoy themselves so long as they returned to the camp each night. Since Ireland is in a fantastic position on the Atlantic, neither side wanted to do anything to piss off the Irish and get them in the war on the other side, so instructed their prisoners to follow the rules and make no attempts at escaping by using a day pass.
>Of course, a ‘legitimate’ escape was still fair play. If you managed to break out of the camp, through the wires, the guards etc and then made it to friendly grounds (not an easy task), then fair’s fair, it wouldn’t be held against the nation.
>An enterprising barracks lawyer by the name of Bud Wolfe, an Nebraskan who joined the RAF to fight the Nazis, and not being particularly interested in spending a life of (paid) luxury in Ireland, thought he had found a way around this system. He signed out on parole, walked out the gate to a waiting taxi. Then said “Damnit, I forgot my gloves”, walked back in. Picked up his gloves, and walked back out the gate again. As far as he was concerned, he had signed out, returned by the deadline as promised, and then effected a legal, blatant escape out the gate. After he made it to Northern Ireland, he was arrested, the British decided that he had at least broken the spirit of the parole process, and sent him back to Ireland. His reception in the camp was not a happy one, the rest of the Allied prisoners were not best pleased at having lost their parole privileges for a week. A second escape attempt failed, he was recaptured shortly after breaking out.
It's from this article by the_chieftain about Panthers in French service after the war.
> In truth a tanker could ask for much more. The Panther’s story is rife with examples of automotive problems. The combat debut of the Panther, during the great German Kursk offensive in 1943 (Operation Citadel), was not particularly auspicious. Two tanks from the initial detachment burned out from engine fires just getting off of the trains! It brought a whole new meaning to the phrase “baptism of fire”.
The porous fuel lines resulted in incendiary fumes building up in the engine compartment after some time of inactivity like on an flatbed. When the engine was started it could ignite these fumes and the tank burned.
Germany (and other nations) used trains whenever possible as the could transport huge loads fast. It also reduced the wear on the tanks.
Also from the article:
> As a result, the Panther is in no way a strategic tank. The Germans did not hesitate to economically increase the engine life by loading the tank onto railcars even for very short distances (25 km).
WG introduced matchmaker, which tries to assemble teams based on more or less pre-defined tier patterns. Details are here: https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/general-news/update-9201-matchmaker-improvements/, and that post refers to a more detailed description of how things work.
I was one of the early adopters of complaining about tier 8 MM, backing my considerations with some statistics, too. My impression is though, that things have changed for the better since the introduction of the new system. While it is inherently less likely to put you on top than in the early days (the number of spots at the top is more restricted), this is the cost of experiences better gameplay while at the bottom.
All in all, tier 8s meet tier 10s more often than before, but only in limited numbers. Some vehicles deal better with that change than others, so when you play tier 8s, you need to account for the meta shift. For example, Strv S1 doesn't care much about which tier it is at; if anything, meeting tier 10s means more experience for it. AMX CDC, on the other hand, may have suffered from the change, because it relies on other characteristics to fare well.
One important thing to say about the change is that frequently meeting tier 10s while playing tier 8s pushes you to become more efficient and careful. I feel that the change made me a better player overall. And if one occasionally misses bashing lower tiers, tier 9 seems to be the sweet spot for that now. The worst they are going to meet is 3 tier 10s.
Another comment mentioned the World of Tanks Ranked system, and after looking it up here it seems much more mature than what we have for WoWs.
This image shows their "star" distribution (15 players per team in WoT): https://eu-wotp.wgcdn.co/dcont/fb/image/ranked_battles_infographics-en.jpg
Top 3 of winning team get two stars, middle gets one, lower end gets nothing.
Top 1 of losing team gets one star, middle loses nothing, lower end loses a star.
Much better imho, would only have to be adjusted for WoWs' smaller team size.

Also there has been someone who had an image of it after it fell of a train
Coil springs.
In fact, the first time they fired the gun, it broke the original gun recoil mechanism and injured a crew member on the SuperPershing, hence the dual tubes. The angled spaced armor that goes back along the turret from the gun mantlet wasn't supposed to be spaced armor. The gun was still nose heavy even after they put the big springs on top of the turret so they welded on a couple of tons of plate steel to counter-balance the gun. That is worked as spaced armor was a happy accident.
You can see the exposed springs in this early photo: https://static-ptl-us.gcdn.co/dcont/fb/image/externalequilibrator.png

I'm sorry you felt it was a slog, but they did show pictures of the camo on the website even before the missions started.
You could have seen what the camo looks like and decided not to do the later missions.
Go to your barracks and get them back?

Edit: https://worldoftanks.com/en/content/guide/general/vehicle-crew-recovery/
IIRC it changed long before that, when the devs modified accuracy in 9.6.
I made this image that it looks like that shooting ground is hull-down exclusive but it's only because I was out of ideas for names- it obviously happens in all the other situations, no matter the position nor distance. And it's ridiculous to the point where me and my clanmates are counting these shots aloud whenever we're in platoon.

Smoke grenades worked on the Panther
>> A smoke grenade thrown onto the rear deck or the vent openings of the engine will start a fire.
> The hull of the Panther was designed to be water-tight, to allow for deep-fording. This had the unfortunate side-affect of encouraging gasoline and oil to accumulate in the engine compartment. German reports often decry the Panther’s tendency towards engine fires. The French observed the same.
On another note, when I had the opportunity to drive on a VT-55 I had a good view (and better acoustics) of the engine deck and air intake. It did have heavy covers that could be closed, but at the very least a molotov cocktail will starve the engine of oxygen.
Something...something...I'm in WG's pocket.
In all reality - WG has been ramping up featuring streamers on their Twitch channel and they are doing interviews with us. Full schedule here.
I know. At least kubinka has most of these vehicles inside, but I guess that very important technological history doesn't really need preserving...
I'm especially pissed about the T30, T34 and T29 prototypes. I mean look at them. I don't think there'd be an abrams without these.
The log on the back of the T-54 was moved to the side, then later it was moved back to its rightful place on the back of the tank when they did an HD model of the tank. I'm sure there were some other changes here and there, but strangely this stands out as important to me.
T28 was the final army designation for this vehicle. The T95 and T28 were the same vehicle contrary to WoT and WT representations. You see the T28's massive weight and thin suspension made it practical to apply another set of tracks which when in urban areas could be detached and towed behind the vehicle. Seen here.
https://worldoftanks.com/dcont/fb/image/t95trail.jpg
Also no dashes are used for the majority of US vehicles. Expect for cases like T26E1-1 or M6A2E1-1 and M6A2E1-2
Battle Pass Tokens will be accumulated throughout the year, and you can spend them in upcoming Seasons of Battle Pass. When the "Items for Tokens" section is closed, all unspent Tokens will be converted to bonds at the rate of 1:100.
https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/game-events/battle-pass-season-5/
The figure was originally given here, based on French experience with vehicles in service after the war. These could have been any modification, even post-war builds, considering the fact that the British built some Panthers for themselves out of wartime manufacture parts.
There is an important point here. If you are going for the looks your math is correct, however if you only care about the concealment bonus you only need to put camouflage on the hull. In this scenario the total would be 150 gold on camo for all 3 seasons.
You can confirm it here if you like, but to quote: "To get a concealment bonus, you have to apply camouflage on the hull. If you camouflage only the turret and the gun, your vehicle’s visibility is not affected." or for confirmation here "Camo value bonuses are active when applied to the hull, and will decrease the enemy’s view range around your tank".
The "War Crime" Panther wasn't actually one, as it never engaged the enemy while in US markings. /u/The_Chieftain_WG has debunked this several times, including an excellent Chieftain's Hatch on it.
As to your question, these vehicles don't bear the markings of the enemy, so it would be perfectly legal to engage the enemy with them. The practical reason not to do so is that fielding a vehicle that looks like an enemy is just begging for friendly fire incidents.
The following two articles of mine may be of interest.
https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/chieftain/The_Chieftains_Hatch_Range_Maths/ https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/chieftain/The_Chieftains_Hatch_Turret_Maths/
Of interest, though the mathematical average engagement range in NWE was somewhere between 700 and 800 yards, the median (i.e. where the most were, numerically) was only somewhere over 300 yards.

In fairness to WG, any change to game balance is going to be controversial. Some people thought that the 9.18 changes to arty & light tanks were great, others thought they were terrible, others (like me) had mixed opinions. For that kind of thing, you won't be able to make everyone happy all the time.
There are some key differences here:
> Since when did they listen to any negative feedback?
Good question. I can think of two times that they have:
The important thing though, is that WG waited a LOOOOONG time before listening to players or even providing any kind of statement at all about the game mode. In the case of Rampage, adoption was low, the game mode was flawed, and rigging became widespread... all with no comment from WG. Many, many players took the lack of response from WG as tacit permission to continue rigging... and there were ultimately no significant consequences for anyone who did. Some people I work with are still bitter about T-22 match rigging and to this day will report anyone driving a T-22 on sight for unsportsmanlike conduct.
With performance bonuses for emblems, the player base was up-in-arms over it. Still, it took weeks of players harshly criticizing the new game mechanic and pointing out it's obvious and foreseeable flaws before WG pulled it.
I guess my hope is that WG will listen sooner rather than later to the players.

wrong.
https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/updates/update-1-13-he-shells/
HE Shells: Changes to Damage Mechanics
Upon penetration of enemy armor, nothing will change—if a shell gets inside the vehicle, you will still be able to cause a lot of damage. But if its penetration value is not high enough, damage will be calculated at the point of contact with the armor. At the same time, after exploding, small pieces of spall will be scattered inside the vehicle, injuring crew members and causing damage to modules, as well as to the armor itself. The spall radius will be the same as the shell’s burst radius in the previous system.
When using HE shells, remember that if the shell reaches the armor, it will deal damage. The amount will depend on the armor thickness at the point of impact—the thinner the armor, the lower its nominal value and the greater the damage. And vice versa—the thicker the armor at the point of impact, the less damage the shell will cause if it does not penetrate.
Just like when using Armor-Piercing (AP) shells, you should aim at vulnerable areas and wait for a good moment to cause high damage. As a result, firing HE shells at well-armored areas of enemy vehicles will become less effective—it will be impossible to cause as much damage as before.
5 second Google search.
You are better off playing in one of the daily tournaments. This is a fun and easy to way to earn a lot of gold for free. The tournaments usually consists of 6 players, where the top 3 win gold. Half the time, 1 or 2 players don't even show up to play.
To get a reward tank, you will need to place in the alley of fame during an Arms Race campaign (clan wars for a tank). To do this, you need fame points. To earn those you will need to join a decent clan and participate in clanwars battles. Some clans stop accepting people once an Arms Race starts, so you'll want to be in a clan you think will get you a tank by the start.
I recommend taking a look at the RDDT family if you are looking for any type of clan (CW included). Just hop on their TS (address in sidebar) and head to the recruitment channel.

Cheapest version costs $9.99 and comes with 750 gold and slot.
I've been playing both for a number of years and it's just apples and oranges really. They both have their fair share of problems.
The premium problem was real but it seems to have been toned down a lot since the Chrysler GF fiasco (which to be fair, was a pretty bad tank, the armour was broken but the gun was utter shit), and the Nameless and Edelweiss are Asia server only and hopefully stay that way and as an owner of both the Nameless is definitely OP but the Edelweiss is pretty meh.
Wargaming are hard-pressed when it comes to nerfing premiums due to the T26E4 "Super Pershing" fiasco years ago, they offered people their money back for the vehicles full price in premium currency after nerfing it.
And to be fair they have listened to community feedback before, the infamous "pay-to-win" decals were removed from the game before they were even added due to community outrage. The problem seems to be that their main studio is in Russia and as such they mostly only seem to answer and listen to their Russian players more often. Wargaming NA are very vocal with their players but unfortunately they're not the main studio so they can only pass along suggestions to the main studio in Cyprus.
Unfortunately I can't play as often since 1.0 dropped as my load times are insanely long and by the time I'm in game my team is in the middle of the map. I've only had War Thunder to keep me occupied and right now the P-47's and .50 cal spam is making me wanna neck myself.
It's a social experiment.
And for the firewalled:
ATTENTION:
With your help, we’ve discovered a visual error in July’s TR 20K Daily Counter mission: Both the TankRewards.com 20K Daily mission and the German Occupation of Belgium mission are rewarding German flag tokens. Thus, the TR 20K Daily Counter (31) counter mission will show more completions than the player actually has.
This visual error will be fixed soon.
Also, we will not be removing these extra tokens from players who completed the mission before July 19, 04:20 PT (07:20 ET).

I;m pretty happy with how they represented the Tiger 1 in game. The Chieftains Hatch has a good write up on the Tiger scene from Fury -https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/chieftain/TCH_Fury_Sherman_Tiger/
Comparing the 100m thick front armour of the Tiger 1 to the sloped armour of the M4 being effectively 90mm.
He went in during the Iraq invasion, had an insurgent round go into one of his vision blocks while he was unbuttoned, 3 inches away from his face.
He has a really insightful article about the mindset of tankers in combat which helps dispel some of the silliness surrounding the tank-wanking.
You should stop seeing bots once you get past tier 5. Once you reach tier 6, you'll no longer be matched against only novice players and bots. Once you reach tier 7, you'll no longer be considered a novice player. Until then, expect to see bots. This change came with update 1.12.1 in April, 2021.

Some of the stuff is already released but there’s also more not covered by the WG Fest teaser that will be going live soon (see 1.5.1 CT).
A couple of facts about Hank I just discovered:
You must recruit him by 9/30/19.
He's assigned to the US tree as a Commander. You can select the tank, though.
Edit: WG updated their website. Details below:
https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/announcements/twitch-package-echo/
The Chieftain has a good writeup of French experiences as part of his blog, and references the various reports from which he got the information.
https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/updates/1-4-1-blueprints/
From link: "If you earn a Blueprint for an already researched vehicle, it will turn into a universal or national Blueprint.
Universal Blueprints are suitable for tanks of any nation National Blueprints can be used on vehicles of their respective nation National and universal Blueprints won't give you discounts until they are converted to Blueprints for a specific vehicle. To do this, you will need a certain number of each.
For vehicles of different Tiers, the number and ratio of national and universal Blueprints will vary.
For example:
CREATE A BLUEPRINT FOR: NATIONAL BLUEPRINTS REQUIRED: UNIVERSAL BLUEPRINTS REQUIRED:
Tier IV vehicle: 1 National Blueprint and 4 Universal Blueprints
Tier V vehicle: 2 National Blueprints and 6 Universal Blueprints
Tier X tank: 4 National Blueprints and 12 Universal Blueprints"
Congrats to all of the teams that participated, but I think I've just about had enough of soccer. First the Gold Cup was delayed for a week, then we had to play for nearly 5 hours with breaks of just a few minutes between matches. But in the end, was it worth it for 10k gold and a Skorp G? I mean, probably.
Edit: Link to the Tourney page so you can get all the information:

That's really it for major changes, everything else has stayed pretty much the same.
Hmm... this is a tough one.
I can answer with one of the ones I've spent the most time with, I guess?
World of Tank's armor penetration mechanics is a large part of what makes the game interesting and the moment to moment gameplay much more interactive than faster paced shooters.
In short, each tank's gun has a penetration value, and armor has a respective value. When you shoot, the penetration value is modified by +/- 25% that is compared against the armor value at the point of impact and determines whether you deal damage.
Now, there are 2 caveats here that makes the whole thing work. First, each tank has its own armor profile with different strong and weakpoints. And second, the ANGLE of armor impacts the armor value matters where the greater the angle of impact (relative to the normal), the higher the effective armor value is: https://worldoftanks.com/dcont/fb/imagesforarticles/chieftains_hatch/stratguide/armorangles.jpg
The voices were updated because players complained that there was too much radio noise. From the Patchnotes:
> Changed the radio interference effect for the female voiceover, following the requests of players. Now the female voiceover will sound clearer and accented.
Just a little more detail, it's the "World of Tanks Rating". It's based on the following:
It's about the averages, so someone who has played fewer battles can still have a WTR as good or better than someone who has played a lot more than them, if they play better.
https://worldoftanks.com/en/content/hof_guide/vehicle_rating/
Starting out in WoT can be pretty tough. Players who have played thousands of games will have an advantage over you as they'll have better crews, they'll be able to afford equipment on all their tanks, etc. But if you're ok with being a punching bag while you figure things out you might not mind too much. Here are some tips anyway, to make things easier for you:
Use an invite code when you make an account. Most give you a free premium tank (useful for training crews and earning credits) and some miscellaneous other things. I found a list of them here, and I think this subreddit also has one listed somewhere.
Training up crews to have decent skills is a pretty important part of the game. That said, there's one skill which is pretty much essential for every tank, called Sixth Sense. It gives you a little notification 3 seconds after someone spots you, and thus lets you know when you're potentially in danger.
Tanks, equipment, and consumables go on sale every now and then— often during holidays or notable anniversaries. Very useful if you haven't got many credits.
If you want to try playing some battles with a more experienced player you can check out the Referral Program, which also has some rewards for participating.
And, importantly, stay cool! This game can make some people quite salty. But I hope you'll enjoy it!
From the comments on the original post:
> This is an altered photo. The turret was never fitted because of the limited load capacity of the suspension.
The official changes were announced on March 23, 2020: https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/updates/tech-trees-update/ . That means you had about a month to complete your mission to get the Ferdinand. How is that getting fucked by WG? It wasn't an overnight, unannounced change.
The option to trade* is available. It's called Trade-in program.

*- obtained value is only 50% of the listed tank value
-only limited set of premium tanks is available
-happens only few times a year
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but prime time is 6 pm central to 10 pm for this campaign. landing tourneys can go past 10 but by 11:30 it's all done for the night.

Check section 5.1.5, 5.2.7, and 5.3.7
Like heres the alley of fame for the last campaign:
Just start looking through players and youre gonna find a lot of players who are either lightly above average or average on the list.
Getting a CW reward tank stopped being about skill when WG shifted to the fame point system. Its now just about time invested. Im not super good and I was 89th in the last campaign purely because I could afford to no life it for 2 weeks for 4 hours a night. To be top 2700 on NA you only needed like an hour a night (and proper investing of fame points).
The firefly had a horrible gun, but did its job. There is a reason the US forces switched to 90mm instead. The chieftain did a article on it.

If you know his IGN (In Game Name), you can can go and look to see what Premium tanks he has.
Find him here:
https://worldoftanks.com/en/community/accounts/#wot&at_search=
Once you open his profile, go to the All Vehicles section of the website and you'll see this filter:
Change the filter to show Premium Tanks:
Report back here with the tanks he already has, and someone will be able to suggest one that he doesn't yet have.
The special missions start today and the vehicle sales start tomorrow. I believe all vehicles will be on offer for 24 hours. Here is an announcement and all I have right now but if you have any questions I will try to give you an honest answer.

A special weekend that includes:
For anyone that hasn't started yet, there should still be time. In order to get all the cards, you need to:
You can do each of the missions once per day. The event runs until July 29th (source). Find 30-60 minutes for tankball 12 days between now and then, and you have a good chance at getting Buffon.
Here's what they did last year:
You can probably expect some tier 8 premiums on 10-20% discount as well as a couple tanks that they don't sell often (e.g. PzB2, PzIV Hydro, Skorp G, Patriot, etc). There will probably be a $99.99 bundle with a "rare" low tier premium, some gold, and premium time.
> I'm sure you don't own any of these "OP" premiums and you can say you do but I'm not going to believe you.
Nope sure dont... Oh wait whats this image with my username and clan clearly visible and several of those OP tanks visible (I even circled them in red for you):
https://i.imgur.com/iYqntjS.jpg
Oh whats this... heres my WoT player page where you can look through my tanks and see that I do indeed own them?:

Get fucking real. Id nerf every one of these tanks in a fucking heartbeat because they are bad for the game. Im a big advocate for WG being allowed to balance every part of the game, including premium tanks with no refunds given, because at the end of the day letting WG rebalance premiums is good for the game.
The French were pretty much using them because they didn't have much else to go on outside of American vehicles. When the country has a stockpile of abandoned and broken-down Panther tanks, you might as well use them.
They came to a conclusion that the Panther's reliability were Scheisse though.
https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/chieftain/chieftains-hatch-french-panthers/
For me, it’s the M46 Patton. The mobility and soft stats make it such a comfortable tank to play, and it’s effective in any situation. The M46 Patton is not only an excellent force multiplier to help your teammates win their flank, it can also carry hard, so it’s kind of like Michael Jordan.
But beyond its in-game performance, the M46 Patton is my hero tank because it vastly improves my tanking experience overall: It’s the first tank I play when I log in. It’s the only tank I play when I don’t have much time, but still want to shoot stuff. It’s the tank I swap to when I’m having a bad session.
I definitely enjoy World of Tanks much more because of the M46 Patton.
They did rebalance lower tiers for the consumables though.
Tier 1 is immune to fire/crew/module damage (only tracks can be taken out and they have quick repair) so you basically don't need consumables.
Tier 2 is immune to crew damage and fire damge is nerfed so you only need a repair kit
Tier 3 is vulnerable to crew and module damage but fire is still nerfed so you only need repair/medical kits.

https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/updates/update-1-10-common-test-2/
I don’t know how much more transparent they can get. The nerfs are still on the test server, so they are still subject to change. I just searched for “wot 1.10 test server” and found the 2 articles about he upcoming patch. Scroll to the bottom of the first one and it gives the full list of changes.
For those wondering http://i.imgur.com/D35ApUz.jpg. Korean random the skin used in the vid was never added to the banned mods list to my knowledge, and was not mentioned in the fair play policy update.

As per the news article it's in your garage as long as your twitch prime subscription is active, and is only removed from the garage if you unlink your wargaming/twitch accounts (aka if twitch prime expires then it's locked but not removed)
Oh man, the audacity of the NA marketing office. Everyone there must be either dense as fuck, or just completely shameless.
>"Wait," you say. "One-hundred dollars for a Tier III tank?" Not exactly. Look at it this way: 24,000 Gold alone costs almost $100 ($96.51 to be exact), so it's like getting the tank and other items free when you pruchase the bundle.
See guys, it's pretty much free
>The Pz. II J is a controversial vehicle ... Using APCR allows you to deal with enemies much more effectively, though it becomes expensive very fast.
This is a blatantly OP and P2W vehicle that destroys new player MM, but we don't give a shit and will freely admit that.
Similar shit to their disgusting LeFH article
>If you hate SPGs, you'll despise the 105 leFH18B. According to the Tankopedia, of all SPGs in the game, the French Tier V Premium has:
>The highest Damage Per Minute >The highest Premium Shell Penetration >The best View Range
>It also has a reload time of less than 10 seconds.
Don't disagree with anything else you said, but want to correct what you said about the Credit Bank. From https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/updates/1-5-wot-prem-account/
>Reserve Stock: We made sure that you had enough Credits for a comfortable and enjoyable game, for refilling your ammo and consumables with no worries. With the WoT PA, an additional 10% bonus to Credits on top of you earn in battles will fall into a special vault. It's an extra bonus that's a plus for your battle income. For example, if you earned 10,000 Credits in a battle, your vault will receive 1,000 thanks to the 10% bonus. Within a week, you can accumulate a maximum of 750,000 Credits in the vault. Every seven (7) days, regardless of whether your WoT PA has expired that week, the vault will open, and all Credits accumulated in it will be automatically moved to your account.
It sounds like you can have as little as one day of WoT Premium during a week, and whatever 10% you acquire during that day, you get at the end of the week regardless of the WoT Premium being active or not.
According to the NA website, it says:
>Event Starts: Friday, November 30 06:00pt
>
>Event Ends: Thursday, December 13 06:00pt

That page also says we only get 10 days. Not quite sure how that math works...
World of Tanks is set to release a Polish tree soon. As their "Resurrected from the Archives" article shows, it is highly paper. Tiers 5 and 6 are "conventional" paper, the tier 7 tank is outright admitted to be a WG creation, 'inspired' by the real paper tier 6. Tiers 8 through 10 are heavy tanks that were thesis projects by graduate engineers, which in theory means their design should be sound but god knows how much WG modified them to fit the tier system.
