Fitwarm Turtleneck Knitted Sweater
XS - Puppy, S - 1+ year
Speaking from experience: resist the urge to splurge on cute IG outfits before they reach 12-13 months. They will explode in length and height during this time. Of course, they’ll continue to grow after. But it’s that growth spurt during the 1st year that will shock you.
Rompers and sweaters are perfect for this age. Intricate blazers and jackets with snaps/buttons—not so much.
Because she’ll provide warmth and comfort, name her Ramen. Color matches too.
For separation anxiety, use liver-pate with this.
Still east to get clothes for also!
Italian Greyhound Clothing - Thin Four Legged
According to an app I use called dog scanner, they say he is 84% Italian Greyhound, 7.4© Greyhound, and 5.7% Polish Greyhound. It's a fun app if you want to download it and snap some pictures.
Here is a link for the DNA kit I just got my parents and in-laws. It's $100, but I think I got it for $70, do be patient.
One of ours was snappy at the vet's office and when getting baths so we got one of the small cloth muzzles that clips around the back of the head. She could still breathe fine and get her tongue out. I can't find the exact one we got (I think it was from a pet store) but worked great. Looked a lot like this one:
On amazon. It’s not specific for Iggies and it’s a little bit long. But it does the job and the length actually helps shield his bum from the rain which we all know is a huge Iggy plus.
Oh and it’s reversible!

My iggy is 5 years old now so it’s been a while since he was a puppy but I do remember spending a lotttt of time at the dog park to get his energy out. Then again, he is the only dog I’ve ever had so I can’t really compare to other puppies. He still has a lot of energy but has definitely calmed down and mirrors my boyfriend and my energy levels. He channels his energy through TOYS. He LOVES toys and has a ton. Amazon has these squeaky little balls he plays with all day and will drop them right at our feet as we walk around so we can just kick it for him anytime we’re up and walking around.
Zanies small latex dog toy with squeaker https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000Y8WTFC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_zZKgFb0F10DY1
They sell them on Amazon, but I just made mine myself. I used an old broom handle and tied a rope to it. On the other end I put a toy. He loves it!
Here's a generic because it's way cheaper than the brand name: generic flirt pole
We really like the Ruffwear Flagline harness. It fits their body shape well and the handle is great for getting them in and out of the car.
My wife ordered them from Amazon JP. I’m not sure if Amazon US or UK has them.
I give my iggy these and they tend to last between 10-15 minutes.

My dog goes inside and outside all year round. Dad is lazy sometimes. But, if your dog is big chewer, I recommend one of these which saved my sanity: https://www.chewy.com/frisco-training-pad-holder/dp/253991
LOL what a rascal! My IG's love tearing up potty pads too. The Frisco pad holder works great for that. Also keeps their feet dry and is easy to clean.
Dr. Google says it could be dehydration, weather, infection, allergies, etc. Maybe try some Snout Soother and if that doesn't help, visit the vet?

Our IG had major surgery to remove masses on her shoulder and hind (benign, thank God), and this donut worked perfectly:
BENCMATE Protective Inflatable... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071VG5DYT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Our Iggy loves this bed.bed We have 3 for her. One in each office. The 3rd is where she sun worships. I even purchased the largest for the foster dog too. The beds are washable. I've washed the iggys 2 times when the darn cat decided to lounge in them.
I have that one, but it's too puffy inside, so the whole bed tips over when she tries to get in.
I have multiples of this one that still has good cushioning but is easier for her to lay in:

It's actually really old... I bought it like 15 years ago for my last IG! [https://www.amazon.com/SWIHELP-Upgrade-Portable-Anti-Collapse-Pets%EF%BC%88Gray%EF%BC%89/dp/B08276DS94?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A11E74VWZQVBKG](But it's basically the same idea as this thing.) Then I put a pillow inside the box so she's kind of sitting on top of it and cover the whole thing with a blanket. The box thing attaches to the seat and there's a clip on top to attach to her harness. She's a puppy right now, so I also have a trash bag lining the inside of the thing in case she has an accident
This is the one Pet Trex 24" Exercise Playpen for... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0052HL3U2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I have to say it's not very sturdy and there's actually a smaller heavier one in there too, that I got from the store when I picked him. That one was actually perfect until he outgrew it, but i still use it to support the big one.
I used this for my 16lb lad https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CY2FYKV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
took him on a 3 hour flight and he napped the whole time

I’ve tried cutting her nails myself and got too close too many times. I take her to a groomer and they use this style clipper. They tried the file one and my iggy freaked!
Not iggy specific obviously but this worked for my friend with her 11lb iggy. Maybe buy and return if it doesn’t work.
You could get a Microchip pet feeder for your cat that's picky. They also have a hood that covers the back if you need that additional protection while the cat is eating.
This is the doorbell he uses! We hung it up on the doorknob to the yard he potties in when he was a puppy, and would tap on them and say “outside go potty?” an obnoxious amount of times before taking him out. After a while, he taught himself to go over and tap the bells to go outside.
I will say that there is an unfortunate side-effect here: in the summer, worms dry up on the patio, and Goose is obsessed with eating them. He’s decided to use the doorbells for both potty and worm jerky breaks. 🤦🏻♀️ I don’t mind it as long as he isn’t pottying inside, but it is a bit annoying when he rings it every 30mins in the summer!
We use a dehydrator and cut up sweet potatoes for our Iggy to give as treats (after potty, for training, for fun) and he loves them! They have the convenient side effect of forming up stool as well. As another person has commented, be sure to rule out any health issues with your vet first. I do recommend the sweet potato “crunchies” though!
Are you?! I was thinking about making that move myself within the year. And thought biking with her would be good practice. There's a lead on the inside that hooks to her harness. So if she fell she'd still be attached to me. The only thing is she is able to standup in it. Which with their long legs they almost come out of the pack.
So I've thought about getting one with her hind legs are suspended and don't have a platform to push off of. It is still an experiment.
I have something like this at the moment... https://www.chewy.com/k9-sport-sack-trainer-dog-cat-carrier/dp/245379?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=12613349483&utm_content=K9%20Sport%20Sack&utm_term=&gclid=CjwKCAiAsNKQBhAPEiwAB-I5zWifs2sznimUEYkPbeDIl...
I have this for my iggy. We used it Thanksgiving day. She's not fond of strangers and being around extended family. My iggy loves to be near my spouse. She stayed in the carrier all day except for the times she needed to potty or eat beyond handfed snacks. This can be worn in the front or the back. pet carrier
In regards to potty training, we had trouble for YEARS with both my IGs (still do with inclement weather) but one thing that has helped is this dog “doorbell”: Mighty Paw Metal Potty Bell, an All Metal Dog Doorbell with Sleek Silver Bell and Support, The Thick-Walled Durable Bell Optimizes Sound Quality. Includes Training Guide https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019KIXRGQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_B1TWQ5W2G4T1SJFZD92W
My male uses it now to let us know when he has to go! The other suggestion I have is that if it is supposed to snow, put a small tarp out on part of your yard. Then when they have to go out, pull it back so they have a section of grass to use. Mine won’t go potty in the snow!
I second going through Shadedmoon on Etsy! I have ordered collars like this and they are great. Dogs have never slipped out of them and they are comfortable for them to wear. For food, my dogs seem to love Blue Buffalo, which can be a bit expensive, but they don't eat a lot, and if you go on the Blue Buffalo website and sign up to "try" their dog food, they will send you a $5 off coupon in the mail. I just started pee pad training and I will say stick with the rewashable ones. The disposable ones are just a mess and you end up spending a small fortune on them over time. Amazon.com has some really great quality pee pads that I purchased and so far, so good. The dogs picked it up really quickly.
On the topic of clothing in the winter, go through RebelWag on Etsy. They do custom sizing for jammies that are cheap and hold up really well over time and many washes. These are the ones I went with, and although my IGs hate wearing clothes, they hate being cold even more.
If you have any more questions about them please feel free to ask! I've had mine for three years and also bred them twice, so I feel like I've got a pretty good handle on the breed.
Nolvadent works the best of anything else I've tried over the past 16+ years on my IGs. I tried Vet's best for a few months but tartar started to appear even brushing everyday. So I switched back to Nolvadent and it went away in a couple of weeks.
The best toothbrushes I've found are the small CET tooth brushes.

My Iggy was fourteen pounds and had a skinny build. These fit great, and we got a lot of compliments!
Got em’ off Amazon. Here’s the info:

Congratulations on your new Iggy! I recommend watching Jenna Marbles, "How to care for your Cermet". Not because it's helpful, but it is funny :)
It really depends on the context but you can always try a blanket and/or sweater and see if that helps.
How cold is too cold for your IG? It depends, I've had 4 and each of them had they're own preferences for too hot and too cold. If it's around the house and they're too hot, they'll lay flat on the floor. If they're too cold, they'll ball up in a blanket or lap if it's available.
Outside I'd say, anything under 70f can be cold for them and may require a jacket. Anything over 90f is likely hot for them. Stay in the shade and/or get a cooling vest.
The same principle applies as humans really, thin layers and thick layers. We have a lovely thin layer onesies that we put under everything as a base. I’ll find the link.

It comes with 2, a green one and a blue one. I got the size small which fit both my iggies perfectly.
You can put Coconut oil on her which should help if it's dry skin. I've used Dr. Bronner's Organic Coconut Oil on my IGs. They really like it :)
I tell everyone to get a Snuggle Puppy. We had one for our puppys first night home and he didn't make a sound and slept all night. He is two years old now and still sleeps with it nightly. Expensive? Yes. But priceless to him! https://www.amazon.com/SmartPetLove-Snuggle-Puppy-Behavioral-Brown/dp/B000C9YHFS
LOL! What to do in a pinch?! Clever little things bringing the area rugs in.
For the tooth brushing, I've found it's better to have tooth cleaning items that do not taste like food. I tried those and it just results in them trying to chew. It's mixed messages: hold still to brush teeth vs. chew cuz food! The best items I've found are CET pet toothbrush and Nolvadent. I've tried other products but nothing works as well as Nolvadent. You'll need a tiny brush, there's not much room in their little mouths. I can also send you a video I made for my dog's litter mate's owner. A sort of how to if that's helpful. Just let me know.
Happy Thanksgiving! :)
We have this one. She loves it.
The first few beds we got her, she would tear them apart and pull out the stuffing. This started after her adult teeth grew in. Turns out she was cold and was trying to burrow inside. After we got the doggie cave type bed, she stopped digging.
https://www.amazon.com/Snoozer-Cozy-Cave-Khaki-Small/dp/B0006NEGQA?th=1&psc=1
We use the Arm&Hammer brand. We started with this brand, and she loved it.
It's this one
My iggy loves it! Sometimes we couldn't find him and he was burrowed way in there that we didn't notice. Keeps them nice and warm without having to find a blanket or have to constantly be picking the blankets up off the floor. We have the medium size and there is plenty of room to choose between being outside of the blanket or completely inside. I highly recommend it!
Hi there, I got the the coats on Amazon size XS. FYI It is a little bit long on them. Hope to see you around too! My iggys loves running.
Geyecete Greyhound Cosy Fleece... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DHW83MD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I found this particular one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JXYB7G1?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
We got the size Small (Back length 12” Chest 18-20”)
I will say that the neck part gets pulled down across her back because she’s probably too long for it.
You can kind of see what I mean in this pic: https://i.imgur.com/4sXLXaX.jpg
How old is she? Does she itch more after going outside, after eating, or all the time? Does she scratch and bite everywhere or just in specific areas? Does she have any rashes and/or hair loss? Also what's causing the diarrhea? Did the itching start after taking the medicine for that? Sorry for all the questions but without some info about what's causing the itching it's hard to recommend something to help. Some common examples of things that could make her itch a lot are allergies, demodex, or fleas.
The only times I've seen dry skin on an IG is if you bathe them in water that's too hot or bathe them too often. Even then, it usually doesn't cause a lot of itching just some dry skin flakes. Coconut oil can be put on irritated skin and it's safe for them to eat.
It might be worth a vet visit to have both issues looked at by a professional.
Doggie front pack - something like this.

I hate to reiterate what everyone has said, but you should consulte with your veterinarian.
Absent anything concerning, I highly recommend Nutri -Cal. It’s available on amazon . I’ve noticed that as each of my IG’s has gotten older they became pickier with food, and would sometimes skip meals. This was the only thing I found always worked, and would at least ensure they ate something through a period of food funk.
I use a martingale collar with my IG and it seems to work well. I use this cheap one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B6SVYTQ
I like that it has the plastic snap buckle, unlike the more fancy ones that slip over the dog’s head. I think it’s easier to take on/off.
Get him a playpen and a litterbox.
Set up the pen so the crate is there (take the door off) with a TON of soft snuggly blankets. Next to it, put the litter box (so there is a crate "wall" between the bed and the pee zone). It helps if you use a pee pad to soak up an accident, then put it in the litter box so it smells right.
Water can also go in there, in front of the crate, and a bunch of safe toys. Put the bowl of food INSIDE the crate but with the door open at all times.
This is where the puppy lives when you're not paying attention to it, directly. This way, there are no accidents all over the house, they are SAFE, they are comfortable. There will still probably be some whining but it will be a lot less scary than a crate.
Your puppy's breeder should also be a superior resource to help you navigate this difficult time. A responsible breeder has walked lots of people through this before and will have a lot of great ideas and support.
I've flown 3 times with my IG. She's 19" tall and weighs 16 lbs., a smidgen smaller than yours. I've traveled on American & Delta using Sherpa's Large pet carrier. She curls up into a ball, falls asleep, and it doesn't seem cramp. I was afraid the first time, but it went well. I even went to the airport a week before with her in the carrier, went to the ticket agent and asked if the carrier was okay. They said it was fine and I encountered no questions. Each time I did buy a first class/business class ticket, as well as the pet ticket, and had no carry ons. It was very easy to slide the carrier under the seat in front of me with plenty of room for me to stretch out. I'd open the zipped top every now and then to pet her and let her stand up inside the carrier to stretch, she didn't require any sedation or any packed treats, but then again she's a calm dog. It doesn't hurt that every time I've flown everyone: passengers, TSA, gate agents, and the flight attendants fall in love with her and often offer pieces of food to give her as treats. I'd buy the carrier and see how your IG reacts to being inside, even if it's just a car ride to judge his behavior/comfort.
