The fans did, though. The Restored Content Mod makes the game finally worth playing. You should absolutely do that.

Lol I didn't make the mod I only downloaded it and it's called call of aid here's the link for the Kotor 1 version and the link to the Kotor 2 version.

Getting them all into place, however, took a little bit longer than I expected because I had to get each one to follow me into the right spot.

Nothing really stops you from putting the game on thepiratebay now anyways. The game is available on gog.com DRM free. I am quite certain the mod, remake, or whatever you want to call it would help sell more copies of the original game, especially since I imagine it would be released as an installer which modifies the original game (similar to HotA for HoM&M3).
