If you scroll down its written that the Xash3d should support Sohl. However the VR implementation is much more limited.
counter-life - not working
as i big fan of CS, tried to use this mod which should be compatible with xash, spend all the time to get to he health station which should apparently work as a buy station but nothing happened.
Only thing working was the weapon selection icons from CS :'(
Worth putting the brief instructions in the OP:
Copy the mod to the xash folder. I.e. xash/blackops. Leave the valve folder where it is.
I would recommend sticking to mods on this list: https://www.moddb.com/engines/xash3d-engine/features/xash3d-compatible-half-life-mods-with-a-custom-game-code (under Compatible Half-Life themed mods)
After successfully running Lambda1VR at least once (and perhaps after a device restart) there should be a file in the xash folder called commandline.txt.
In there you will find the line:
xash3d -dev 3 -log
Add onto the end:
-game [modname]
The modname must match the folder copied across, I.e.:
xash3d -dev 3 -log -game blackops
Wait, how are you saying it doesn't affect fps? Mine dropped to like half the FPS just using the HL: Gold textures (no other mods)
Since Lambda1VR has been announced by Dr. Beef, i've spend the past days playing around with different HD packs and weapons for HL1.
Goal is to create a more modern look and to make 6DoF aiming using the weapons sights work better!
Still a lot of work to do, but playable.
If someone wants to give it a try:
I use the community mod HL: Gold and tried different weapons models.
I will add a todo list later, so maybe with combined effort we get this thing airborn and the HD mod fully working.
It's possible to edit the commandline.txt file and switch games using CX File Explorer. Just sideload this app: https://apkpure.com/cx-file-explorer/com.cxinventor.file.explorer
And you can use it to browse the internal storage on the Quest and edit your file for the game you want. It's not as clean as having a launcher but it's pretty quick and easy and it much less of a hassle for me that having to run upstairs to my computer all the time.
