There was a Masonic podcast I listened to recently, where the creators of the show said the name of the show was a direct homage to the Pynchon Book.
Here it is:
You can definitely do this for free, or very, very cheap! Look at the hosted version of Wordpress (wordpress.com), or other do-it-yourself site builders like Wix or Squarespace, You don't need to be a developer, and you also don't need to spend 100's/1000's for someone else to do it!
David Lynch in his book Catching the Big Fish talks about servicing the original idea, and how if you only make "best" decisions, you end up with this homogeneous "best" product like everyone's already done without flavor and that no longer services the original idea. In media that require a creative process that involves reduction or distillation (ie film and video) adhering to the inspiration becomes both more important as well as harder to achieve.
Yeah, i think you're on to something. Maybe Lamar sees something in those reflections too. Time to brush up on Lewis Carrol; thankfully Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is in the public domain now.
I don't think it's a coincidence that Dud's friend at the donut shop is named Alice. It was odd she did not like Lamar for some unexplained reason- 'i heard you the first time Lamar!' But she seems to be Dud's closest pre-lodge friend and she literally saved his life after the shark attack. I hope in season 3 her character is fleshed out a bit more.
This is from "Ars Magna Lucis et Umbrae" by A. Kircher, 1665. You can find this particular page of that book on page 86 of Alchemy and Mysticism, where the authors note that the nine planets and their nine spheres were being associated with the nine muses, with Apollo as the prime mover overseeing this celestial concert.
You could probably start with the amazon choice tankard, 3d print your own lynx badge, spray it with metal coat paint, and affix.
There's also all sorts of custom tankard companies if you're willing to spend more coin and give them pictures of what you want.
