I actually started a podcast yesterday where I talked about a very similar topic. With the accessibility of music and number of quality musicians out there, this decade will be one to be remembered for sure!
I think the biggest thing for this movie is that it's a really good movie. There's no need for a qualifier that "it's great for being Asian." It's just a really fun movie. My friends and I discussed that even though the movie is important for representation for future films, it doesn't change the fact that it is a good rom-com, something that has been lacking for a couple of years.

Hebrews 4 says to come to him boldly. Think about it, if God paid such a high price to get you into his Presence then it means that he wants you there. He died to restore us and bring us back to him. Anything that tells you that he’s unapproachable is not true.
Don’t do appointments, be with him. When is he not with you? He lives inside of you.
I did this on relationship with Jesus. I cant remember exactly what it’s about so hopefully it helps lol. Some practical tips-

-When you think of God, talk to him. it will build the intimacy. There is no pressure to perform or "do" but just be. be with him, get to know him, and there is no pressure ever, because Jesus took the test and so we get an A. The Bible says be compelled by love. So if anything else is driving you (fear, guilt, shame, works, etc) it’s not God’s best for you.
-When i wake up i'll talk to Jesus, say good morning, etc. when i brush my teeth i have a post it of an awesome bible verse so ill see it and think about it. I include God in every aspect of my day. If you forget about God during the day don’t feel bad. Ask Jesus to remind you. And when he does talk to him. He will, he loves you and loves to hear you and loves to speak with you. Remember, God moved heaven and earth to get you into his Presence, anything that keeps you from him is a lie or a trick. He desires your friendship.
-When I drive I like to listen to the Bible, (or you are driven in your case) I will push pause and talk it over when God highlights something to me.

I like an actual play as much as the next person, but sometimes I just want to talk about mechanics and rules. I think the fact you have a desire to draw near to him is amazing-it’s because he is drawing you. This desire you have toward mirrors his desire for you. Remember that we don’t have to spend time with God, we get to. We don’t have to read the Bible for God, we get to read the Bible with him. Walking with God is something we get to do all throughout the day. Don’t compartmentalize God, let God be with you all throughout the day. When you think of him, talk to him. That will build the intimacy with him :)
I have made a few things on these topics, they might help :)
There’s a great book I read as a new Christian called drawing near by John Bevere. I totally recommend it. Just remember to look at it that you don’t have to spend time with God, you get to. When you put pressure on yourself it makes you not want to do it. It’s not about clicking in a time clock to spend time with God, it’s about getting to know him.
You should realize that God himself is drawing you, because nobody can draw near to God unless he draws them. So the fact that you are desiring to draw near to him just mirrors his desire for you and to draw near to you. He knows that when you draw near to him he will draw near to you-that’s exciting! Blueshirts breakaway is my favorite. Definitely need to join the church of Kakko. I do a podcast with my friends. It's more general hockey talk but me being a Rangers fan, they get brought up a lot. it's called the NoseBleeds podcast. you can find it basically where ever you listen.
Zhang Yingying graduated second in her college. Not trying to victim blame here especially in light of what happened, but it goes to show how book smart means nothing if you don't understand something as basic as you shouldn't get into a stranger's car. I understand that she was running late for something and had just missed a bus before but still.
I read somewhere that she was under the naive impression that Americans are nice and civil and it led to her to do something that she would have never done back home or probably anywhere else that isn't white. This speaks to a problem of a lot of Asian people. How we blindly trust whites and look at what happens as a result. This podcast gets into a little bit about that.
You'd think what happened in recent history like the Rape of Vietnam, the Korean War, the Rape of the Philippines, the Boxer Rebellion, etc. that there would be more Asian people who know better but nope. It's exceedingly the contrary.

I've been using Anchor.FM for a while for my show, We usually set a phone in between the 3 or 4 of us and just hit record and get a pretty decent quality show out of it. The app also has a feature that lets you use the app as kind of a conference call type option where everyone opens the app, joins the session, and then someone hits record. It auto saves the session and allows you to post it. It's a free to use app and it will post to iTunes, and other podcast sites for you.
Yeah you can use it in a pinch it's not bad.
In fact this is Anchor's business model. They have a phone app that lets you record your podcast right on your phone, edit it, and publish it. And they are one of the biggest podcast hosts because of it.
But the sword has two edges. The greatest thing about podcasting is because anyone can make one. But the worst thing about podcasting is that anyone can make one. Meaning there are hundreds of thousands of low effort shows that aren't being listened to at all. In my opinion, the lower the effort the smaller the audience. So be careful.

I'd suggest mindfulness. I have a similar problem with death itself. I remind myself there's nothing I can do about it and if I keep thinking about it, I'll ruin the precious time I have.

I must say that the Drago story line was handled so well. They're weren't caricatures of villains. They were given a backstory that you could empathize with.My friend and I discussed that there are moments where you feel bad for the Drago's, not because of a false sense of sympathy but because of a sense of loneliness that the father and son endured and shared. It was a true underdog story, because they were forgotten and left behind.
Very interesting discussion about 50 types of data that Facebook is collecting from you, sometimes without you even knowing it and the wrong practices that this company has been conducting since its foundation and how these activities affect privacy of 2.2 billion people around the globe. It uncovers how the users are tracked continuously, new patents that are used for facial recognition of your emotions and more!

I honestly thought this movie was a lot of fun. I enjoyed seeing the new characters introduced, although it wasn't a lot of screen-time for them. Jack-Jack is amazing. It's not quite as good as the first one, as my friends and I discussed, but it is a really fun ride that is best enjoyed in a theater.

This week was a vaguely disappointing week where most of the shows I listened to, I felt completely neutral towards and won't be continuing with. I list them here in case anyone else wants to know they exist and possibly try them: Lonesome Pine (mystery, horror), Scenic Byways (weird travelogue, might be of interest to people who like Startripper!!), Forest Guide (writerly struggles + metaphorical journey), Doveport (hometown reunion + horror?), The Tom Worley Podcast (supernatural noir), Tales From the Road (postapocalyptic).

On the bright side, I like the characters of Hillbilly Horror House enough to recommend it to people who like haunted house shows and who can ignore the whole "here's an obviously haunted house, we should STILL voluntarily go inside" blind spot that horror fiction characters tend to be afflicted with.

Also caught up with the third seasons of both >!Immunities!< and >!Lesser Gods!< and both shows reminded me how they are in the top tier of any kind of science fiction.

I'm here to plug my new podcast but that episode got me to delve into African music and South African music sung in Zulu in particular. What I heard on your tapes sounds distantly related to a genre called Mbaqanga, but mixed in with traditional American gospel. I think what you have there is unique. A lot fake claims. Adult use has made prices more expensive than it was previously, but they are not still paying sky high prices. Source, I talk to folks and other podcasters (shameless plug) from Cali (they do good work from California about National Cannabis news) about prices, they say that they've gone up since legalization, but are not sky high now. They have other growers that they get from, so they're not as affected, but just wanted to correct the reporting from the story.
Also, if cannabis is 50/oz in Oregon, why register to be on a government list? We get $100-$150 oz here in Grassachusetts, you can kiss me re-registering goodbye too.

I don't know how you can still stand working in tech, especially in the Bay Area (no need to disclose your specific location but your description sounds like it).
If I were you, I would try becoming a freelancer or self-employed, but I understand that you probably have good benefits that you don't want to give up. Just know all that stress isn't worth it even with whatever you're getting.

Some background info-fasting surpresses the carnal voice in our lives and helps us to see clear. It helps us to learn that the “spirit is willing but the flesh is weak” is before Jesus died, and now that he died and rose again, our spirit is willing and our flesh says amen. Fasting gets rid of “cobwebs” so to speak and makes things clear. It’s truly amazing. The self control I have grown in from fasting is so awesome-it really changes your perspective on things. It teaches you not to live sensual and not to let your flesh be in charge. Not to mention the physical and health benefits from fasting. The important thing about fasting is that fasting and prayer must go together. With fasting we put off the old and with prayer we put on the new. I can’t even begin to talk about all the good fruit I’ve seen in my life with fasting. It’s truly a powerful tool God has given us.
I highly recommend you check out The Complete Guide to Fasting by Dr. Fung. It's a very informative book and has lots of great info on fasting. I do practice a fasted lifestyle and do extended fasting, I have a podcast episode here I did on fasting, if you'd like some spiritual tips.
For longer fasts, It's ok to take supplements when you fast-potassium, magnesium, and sodium are great. Check out the r/fasting sub, too. Lots of great info there :)

Jung's meaning that the wound symbolizes a loss of innocence is very true for Dud. He continues to look back at his pre-bite days as a perfect, pre-fall Eden. There were a lot of bad things going on then that he just didn't see as they were swept under the rug or hidden from his sight. Now he's starting to see the world as an adult ...but doesn't yet know how to build something better than he enjoyed as a child, a more stable and prosperous future for himself and his future family.
Wyatt Russell also relates to Dud's wound because he had to give up his professional hockey career because of a shattered pelvis. His dream job of playing pro hockey he'd worked at from childhood was taken away from him, and like Dud he then had to cast around to find what should be the next chapter of his life.
