Howdy, author of The Program audio series here. A few days ago, The Program got featured on Apple Podcasts. And while it's not the first time the show got promoted by Apple, this is the first time it was showcased directly on the front page of the biggest store - the US one.
How did it happen? I was lucky Apple opened "Alternate Realities", a category that fits my podcast to a T (the show is set in a world in which Money, State, and God became fused into a single entity called the Program), and fortunate that one of the editors of the Canadian store endorsed my pitch for The Program to be included (pitches are open to everyone, but the US store is inundated so it helps if you have someone to vouch for you).
As you can see from the chart, the show has been getting between 150 and 250 downloads per day in the period before it got promoted (it's currently between seasons so the numbers have been low but stable). After the promotion, it shot up to over 700 downloads per day, and I have a feeling it might plateau there.
I have no idea how representative these numbers are, but thought some people might find a data point like this interesting.
The Program comes for us all. (Really - new episodes start running in August!)
Episode Eighteen of my show, Nowhere, On Air is out now!
Radio broadcasts from a strange little town in the Crowsnest Pass, Alberta. The show is a story so please start with episode one!
This episode: Jess hasn’t been sleeping well thanks to the return of the lights and sounds from... the building. A colour wavelength miscommunication, a look at the community bulletin, plus the return of an absent community member and the somewhat concerning circumstances surrounding it.
CW: This episode contains slight references to kidnapping and injury.
Nowhere, On Air is created, voiced and produced by Jess Syratt.
Apple Podcasts started to accept pitches for full page art to be displayed instead of the icon once the user opens the show in the app.
As you can see in the screenshot above, it looks pretty snazzy!
I was lucky enough to be proactively approached to submit art and they added it manually, but it is my understanding Apple has now opened the process to everyone. So if you'd like the same treatment for your show, you can request it through https://airtable.com/shrwaPEPlJn8EcE4h (see "Link Show Page Tall" section at the very bottom).
Hope this helps! And of course, The Program comes for us all.
Congratulations on some great numbers. It's great that so many people are enjoying your work.
An announcement like this is a good opportunity to let people know what your show is about. You never know how many more listeners you might get.

This week was a vaguely disappointing week where most of the shows I listened to, I felt completely neutral towards and won't be continuing with. I list them here in case anyone else wants to know they exist and possibly try them: Lonesome Pine (mystery, horror), Scenic Byways (weird travelogue, might be of interest to people who like Startripper!!), Forest Guide (writerly struggles + metaphorical journey), Doveport (hometown reunion + horror?), The Tom Worley Podcast (supernatural noir), Tales From the Road (postapocalyptic).

On the bright side, I like the characters of Hillbilly Horror House enough to recommend it to people who like haunted house shows and who can ignore the whole "here's an obviously haunted house, we should STILL voluntarily go inside" blind spot that horror fiction characters tend to be afflicted with.

In shows that I really liked:
>!The Haunted Hour!< (iTunes / RSS) - The Haunted Hour broadcasts from the town of Lantern, North Carolina. Explore abandoned pools, convenience stores that move, and things that go bump in the night in this audio horror comedy from Emerson College. The first four episodes form one story about a duo investigating an abandoned pool, quickly jettisons the comedy part, and becomes a pretty darn impressive horror thriller.
Also caught up with the third seasons of both >!Immunities!< and >!Lesser Gods!< and both shows reminded me how they are in the top tier of any kind of science fiction.
The Bastards get fed up! Yup you heard that right. The Bastards have arrived at Stu's, the home of the everything for a quick lil bite to eat before heading out back into space!
If ya like sci-fi space adventures with a bear, a jellyfish and laughs, then we are exactly the show for you! You can find us on your favorite podcast app just search for, Backwater Bastards. or ya can jump straight to this episode here!
Well, there is a lot of mature-themed audio erotica out there. And there's a good amount of fan fiction too. Archive of Our Own might be the biggest collection of fan fiction (with an audio category) out there. Not all fan fan fiction will have romance/sex, but a great deal of it seems to.
If you mean romantic audio drama made in the same way that popular audio drama titles are made, with a full cast of actors and sound effects and such, that is rare. Most audio dramas seem to be of of the more adventure/suspense genres. There aren't that many sitcoms or regular dramas either. As has been said, there certainly is a "market" for this kind of thing. It would be nice to have more variety.
There was a suggestion thread for romance back in February. It didn't get a ton of responses, but you might find some shows you'd enjoy.
I know Gimlet doesn’t need more free promotion, but Homecoming is at the top of my list. Life. After and The Message from GE Podcast Theatre are fantastic as well.
Last year, Blizzard Entertainment put out an official, full cast audio drama series titled The Tomb of Sargeras as a prelude story to its World of Warcraft: Legion expansion release.
Castbox has a podcast on starting your own podcast. Talk about meta.
Can't speak to quality - i haven't started a podcast myself but it's something I've been thinking about for a bit.
Good luck! Hopefully there are some folks here who can help you out.
Hey folks,
This is our first attempt at telling a story; creating a podcast and everything else in-between. Our aim through this podcast is to tell a story of an Indian girl who moves to Canada for education. We want to walk the listener through her experience by making them hear the dialogue that she has with herself. We were told that this is the place to get some constructive feedback, so please hear the first episode if you have time: Without a return ticket (duration: 13 minutes)
We have a few specific questions:
Thank you. Hopefully one day we can pass what we learn from you to some other newbie!

Did your feed change? I hadn't realized you had had a drop last week because the feed info i have came back with an error. I've been getting your feed from: https://feedity.com/sub/public/soundcloud/?key=E09XUVNXWk9VUFZaVVFSW1pbU1NTU1NTU1M&uid=horrorcitypodcast&cat=Performing+Arts
I "broadcast" an audiodrama drop news on Twitter every Sunday, so i subscribe to every audiodrama podcast i can get my hands on. Unfortunately the way i archive the information for the "broadcast" doesn't tell me if a feed went wonky. So I'm sad to say i missed this episode drop in my "broadcast". I'll blast it now, but i missed it for #AudioDramaSunday 😢
The episodes are available on the site ( The Lovecraft Covenant https://audioboom.com/channels/4916853.rss ) , on iTunes or on Player.fm: ( https://player.fm/series/the-lovecraft-covenant)
It's a full audio drama, not just an atmospheric reading and IMO it's quite well produced. I stumbled over it by accident.
"Cruise ships are the murder capital of the sea and the sea is the murder capital of the world. Luckily for everyone except pirates, Barjory Buffet is here to solve only cruise crimes."
This podcast is deeply silly but it's also an obsessively sound designed, unnecessarily intricate mystery. Every episode is so fun to make but also takes a million years to complete so please enjoy.
Reposted with a link that actually works this time!

I listened to the first series of X-Men: The Audio Drama and thought it was pretty good. And you've got some good recommendations already, such as Inhale, but you can always look here for more:
Thanks for share, added to my queue : )
Is there any RSS feed available?
And there is one working platform missing - Google Podcasts Web Player
I'm on the receiving end of the organization (I'm a crew member) but our team leader uses Discord and Google Drive, yeah. Also, Google Sheets will help you keep track and organized.
I'm dabbling with Notion, which is like all three rolled into one (plus a calendar). Maybe for later down the line...? Check it here https://www.notion.so/
This is really good stuff! Thank you for sharing. I never knew there was a form to fill out to request Apple promote your show. I'm surprised I've never seen it mentioned anywhere!
you can search for dramatizations, radio dramas, full cast.. there are a lot.

Thanks for interest in the app!
1) You can support us by signing up for the Apollo Discord server and also by sending us bug reports using the in-app feedback form.
2) Supporting creators financially with tips and such in-app will probably take a while yet. It requires many systems to be implemented, like user accounts and payments, and is longer term. We have plans to support creators in other ways, apart from promoting their shows on Apollo's front page and playlists.
If you're looking to purchase titles as CDs, Amazon does have a section of dramatized audiobooks. The BBC's production of The Lord of the Rings is at the top of that page, at least when I view it. It is very highly regarded and even stars Ian Holm (who was Bilbo in the movies) as Frodo. There isn't a dramatized version of the Harry Potter books, although the narrated ones are well done. There's a popular audio drama of the Star Wars movies that has many of the original cast members that may be of interest to you.
If you get into podcasts, their are thousands of productions out there that are free to listen to. That said, many of them are very independent projects that have varying degrees of writing and acting.
You can download our app, and through our app, you can download whatever you purchase.

I think it would be better if you are more specific in terms of when the audio drama was recorded and whether it's available for free or for a fee.
I will assume you are referring to the contemporary audio drama that is available for "free".
I think the best audio drama I have listened to is a tie: Juno Steel by Penumbra http://www.thepenumbrapodcast.com/s1e1-juno-steel-and-the-case-of-the-murderous-mask-part-1 and EDICT Zero FIS https://player.fm/series/edict-zero-fis
Both audio dramas have excellent voice actors, high production values, good sound quality, and excellent sound effects.
However, they are both in most people's top 20 lists but they rarely make it to number 1.
The storyline line in EDICT Zero FIS is compelling but complex. It takes at least five episodes to ground yourself in the story. In addition, the episodes come out slowly and they are down to 1 episode per year. Luckily they are near the end of season five there a lot of episodes that are available now.
Juno Steel requires a similar investment of time for a different reason. I think it took Penumbra four or five episodes to find their voice with Juno Steel but after that, the episodes have been wonderful. I am personally in love with Peter Nureyev.
Player FM has a decent search function. You can download episodes to MP3 if you want to listen later. Itunes also contains a lot of free content that can be downloaded to MP3, but the search function only works on titles.
Tapes From Beyond is a series about two women investigating mysterious and disturbing cassette tapes one of them has been receiving in the mail since she was a child. The tapes are the journal of a man who claims they are trapped in a haunted town. Each episode listens to one of the tapes and then the two hosts discuss it. Full disclosure I wrote and produced the series...but still think it's good and sounds right up your alley haha

Superstition is a southwestern gothic mystery audio drama about a private eye, a bartender, a cop, a missing girl, an old mystery and one very spooky town in Arizona. Created by Sarah Kolb.
After some reviews from the redditors here we changed our recording style to be more impromptu. There are some flaws in the audio of this episode but we are constantly learning from our mistakes. Please highlight more of those!
In general, we were wondering if the listeners can follow along the story?
Is it getting too boring?
Can you understand that Arya is trying to go deeper and question who she is?

He has released Book 3. I emailed him about a year or so ago (2020) as I was listening to the audiobook of Book 2 and was on episode 16 of 24 to inquire if 24 episodes was the completion or if there were more I was unaware of and he never emailed me back.

The Binary Saga is still working on Season 3. We are about 1/2 way written and we expect to start recording shortly so we can begin release of it in Feb 2022. So far it's about 2-3 times the size of season 2 so we are pretty excited about it.
We also are happy to announce that the text from Season 2 has been converted into a book form and released on Amazon in print and kindle format. We learned some lessons from Season 1's book and added a lot more story and background for the two planets, including some "Interludes" that are only available in print form (not included in the audio version)
Excited to bring you the next installment Soon!!
LibriVox has audio recordings of many works that are in the public domain, and there are some Edgar Allen Poe materials there.
Not podcasts per se, but LibriVox has audio recordings of books in the public domain. They have a bunch in French, some originally written in that tongue, others translated into it. A search on French and Horror even yields some Edgar Allen Poe!
Passage is the closest one I could think of. It's a ghost story, like Palimpsest, and it's also presented an audio diary-style narration.
Six Cold Feet is another one you might like. Unlike Palimpsest, it doesn't have supernatural elements, but the storytelling style is somewhat similar, and the plot is built on a compelling personal mystery.
The Magnus Archives and Welcome to Night Vale are two of the most popular horror audio dramas, and I'd hugely recommend both. TMA is a lot heavier and darker than WTNV, but both are really extraordinary podcasts. I haven't listened to Alice Isn't Dead, but it's from some of the people who made WTNV, so it might be worth a look if you do enjoy that.
Crypto-Z is a cool one I've discovered recently- not outright horror; but sci-fi with enough of a kick to be a little ominous. Fantastic sound production and a compelling story doesn't hurt.
I've heard good things about Pseudopod, which I'm pretty sure is a horror short story collection. It's been running for about 15 years I think, so the fact it's still around is likely a good read on the quality.
Finally, might we humbly suggest our own? The Outside Tapes is a recently launched audio drama that follows a journalist pulling himself into more and more seemingly supernatural stories. The episodes usually contain individual stories with an overarching narrative, and incorporate folk horror, legends, and cryptids with our own setting and characters in some places. You can listen on Spotify here, or you can listen on our hosting site here.
If you haven't listened to Welcome to Night Vale, that's a fantastic one. Constant eldritch and cosmic horror themes, but not presented in a gloomy and monotonous way. Hugely popular, and it's been running for years now.
Old Gods of Appalachia is another on the radar of a lot of cosmic horror fans. Phenomenally well-produced, cool narrative structure, and distributed by Rusty Quill.
If you did enjoy the Magnus Archives, our own production, The Outside Tapes, which launched a few weeks ago, has a bit in common in terms of tone. We use a similar structure of a different story every episode, but ours are connected much earlier and the narrative kicks in from day one- and, as you mentioned, each episode takes the form of a recording by the main character. You can listen on Spotify here,, or otherwise on our hosting site here.
Hopefully you'll enjoy some of those!
i’d recommend: -hell gate city companion - funny, scifi, horror in one, cyberpunk radio show from an interesting future, with great vibes and atmosphere -the dead letter office of somewhere, ohio- anthology pulled together by a meta narrative about weird mail and the postal worker who catalogues it -the night post- southern gothic, also involves mail, great characters, and spooky times -the residents of proserpina park- mythological creatures inhabit this strange park, wonderful vibes and also educational! -slumberland - sort of an audio diary from a man sent to record the oral history of a weird town in the great lakes region -woe.begone - a little more on the violent side, scifi, time travel, a guy investigates a mysterious online game and the ever elusive people behind it, all set to a great soundtrack
and lastly, little self promo here, but my show, “Nowhere, On Air” i’d definitely fits this category if you haven’t already given it a try!
similar to wtnv and king falls in the community radio format and vibe, set in a small southern albertan town where weird things happen, and a possible conspiracy starts to take shape! inspired by my love for stranger things, gravity and the xfiles.
find us here!
Of course, here's the link to our hosting page itself, if you'd prefer to listen there. We're planning to get listed on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and wherever else we can get on- Spotify was just our first port of call due to its popularity.
Any issues, let us know, and thanks!
I finished Letters I'll Never Send (Mental Illness, Complete), about a queer woman grappling with depression, the death of her infant son, her recovery post her attempted suicide, and her best friend's struggle with terminal cancer. I loved it. This podcast could so easily have slipped into a parody of some Oscar bait movie, given all the things that could be sources of trauma and grief for the character. And there are so many. But the writing is sparse and matter of fact, laden with emotion but not tempted to fall into histrionics. It's contemplative and raw, coming from a character who has had a lot of time to think and has set herself the task of articulating why she has felt betrayed or buoyed by the various people in her life, and how those relationships have imprinted upon her. I found the estranged relationship with her adopted mother to be particularly well captured in its complexity. Love and gratefulness for being wanted and cared for by her mother, resentment that she looks damaged and incapable in her mother's eyes. Much kudos to the voice actors and team who brought this to life, and the soundtrack is surprisingly calming.
Also liked Iowa Chapman and the Last Dog (Family Friendly Adventure, Complete), a movie length audio drama about a girl in an apocalyptic US, and a dog. It's a fine quest based on a prophecy type story.
hi there! my show, “nowhere, on air” might be right up your alley!
it’s the same format, very similar vibe, and hosted by a woman (me hello!) the first half of the show, which is where we are now, is mostly from the host’s perspective, jess, but there are a good deal of other characters who come in here and there (and insider knowledge, other characters will continue to become a lot more prevalent!)
funny you should mention them because gravity falls and stranger things were both big inspirations for the show! we’re ongoing, but are working towards a conclusion!
it’s set in a small, strange town in southern alberta where, over the course of their normal community radio broadcasts, a mystery starts to take shape.
if you do check it out, i’d love to know what you think! you can find the show here and links to a bunch of our socials and other stuff here
have a nice day!! 💜
I have a horror podcast called Tapes From Beyond- Two hosts listen to and investigate audio tapes that appear to be a journal of a man trapped in a haunted town.
Am listening to Letters I'll Never Send, about a woman returning to regular life after an 8 month stint in a psych hospital due to a suicide attempt. As she ruminates about her life, she writes letters she will never send to various people who have entered and left her life. I'm surprised to find the show kind of calming actually? The music and narration is soothing. There's a danger of the show tipping into misery porn territory because the character has so much baggage. But for now, I'm finding the show's treatment of its subjects to be naturalistic.
Tapes From Beyond is a full cast non anthology horror podcast about two women listening to and investigating mysterious and frightening cassette tapes that one of them has been receiving in the mail since she was a child.
If you dont mind a bit of self promotion?
My show Aethuran, is perhaps on the darker side of what your looking for, i get a lot of praise for the lore/world building.
Heres a quick description for you and a link to the website, its on all podcasting platforms.
Aethuran dark saga is a dark fantasy audio fiction, a show with a unique blend of Audio book and audio drama. Each episode is from the perspective its protagonists, and sometimes the evil they must contend with. The intertwining story leads each of them down a dark road, a journey in which they will cross paths with one another as well as those who would seek to destroy them. WARNING the story is very dark, and twisted throughout, it is not meant for the faint of heart, or those who would be upset by themes of horror or violence. Listener discretion is highly advised.

Id recommend Dice tower theatre: dawn of dragons and call of the flame which are both what your after.
self promotion but my show, “Nowhere, On Air” fits this description! each episode is a radio broadcast from a strange small town in southern alberta. xfiles/stranger things inspired mystery and conspiracy, with some tastes from other shows like “welcome to night vale” and “king falls am”- both also might be worth checking out.
here’s a link to our host website, which has links to all the platforms we can be found on!
also, “dead of the night” is a podcast i’m enjoying that presents itself as investigating a disappearance from a small town, but it’s fiction.
Can I suggest my own podcast, Change in Management?? It's also in the radio play tradition.

Some works recorded on LibriVox have had this sort of treatment. This is easiest for plays like this one but can also be done for books. Look for "dramatic" (as in dramatic reading, rather than a solo effort) in the description to help find them.
LibriVox is restricted to public domain works and quality of productions varies widely, but you may find something you like there.
Edit: OK, not as easy as just searching for "dramatic" - the search function on LibriVox doesn't seem to be as good as it might be.
If you're fond of Melville (me very!) Librivox has his first novel and it's well
narrated and very entertaining...Typee.
Librivox is unique on the web in that it offers no bullsh#t DL's
of Public Domain works read by volunteers.
No sign up, no give 'em your email, just DL
the whole book in one click after quickly streaming a chapter for
decent quality. That said, I'd suggest not skipping that quick
audition as quite a few of the offerings sound, well, less than optimal
(I'm feeling generous). I only listen to solo read entries and it's easy to limit search results to solo only. It really sucks when you're listening
to a chapter only to find the next chapter read by a different
person that has no clue about recording.
Another of my Librivox faves is Scaramouche by Rafael Sabatini. The novel, an historical romance set during the French Revolution, became an international bestseller. (Wikipedia)
My take: It kicks glorious ass! Special bonus: You'll learn a fair bit about the
French Revolution.
If you want to go really old school, Librivox did free recordings of Jane Austen novels, although I'm not sure if any of them were full cast readings.
EDIT: Emma had one: https://librivox.org/emma-dramatic-reading-by-jane-austen/
our show, “nowhere, on air” is worth checking out if you liked nightvale or king falls!! a radio broadcast style show, but canadian based and hosted by a girl!! very similar to nightvale/king falls, but with some x-files/stranger things influences as well!!
here’s a link to our host website where there’s links to everywhere we can be found!
my show, “nowhere, on air” is often compared to nightvale and king falls!!! we’re relatively young (and have a female host, it’s a selling point for people idk haha!) but we’re the same, radio-show format and all!! here’s a link to our host website where any link to the many apps we’re on can be found!! hope you enjoy, would love to know what you think if you do check it out!!
gonna recommend my own piece and hope it works for you haha! it’s a radio-show style piece about a bizarre small town in southern alberta, some stranger things/ x files vibes too. we’re pretty new so not a lot of catching up to do. new episode comes out on saturday! here’s a webpage type thing with links to everywhere it’s available: nowhere, on air
well, i’m inclined to recommend my own show! hits all your criteria i’m pretty sure! it is very similar to night vale/ king falls, but there’s a chance mine will work for you, who knows! mine is definitely similar in terms of strangeness, but where we are right now we’re diving into our very stranger things/ x files vibe kind of story. it is, admittedly, partially the same ‘bizarre’ story segments format, but there is a singular narrative thread being introduced and most significant things will more or less tie in together. we’re in decently early days right now, so the bigger picture is hard to see, but there will be one!
and it’s hosted by a girl! idk if that’s a selling point for you, but in case it is🤷🏼♀️😂
it’s called ”Nowhere, On Air”
here’s a link to our host website, which has in it links to all the places the podcast is offered!
Set near to a thousand years in the past of the current story, The damned caravan follows the events surrounding the group which entombed the Arch-demon Astaroth beneath the Blackfells.
Alek and Yorrick, are forced to confront an unwelcome surprise.

Heyhey! Shameless plug here but we've just started an urban fantasy podcast called Desperado and it seems right up your alley! We've only released 5 episodes so far and my guest actors are all recording remotely so the sound quality isn't the best but people seem hooked on the story so I think we're getting away with it!
It is available after on FalconFM's showreel on mixlr, it will also be available on iTunes and Stitcher very soon (Hopefully by the time Episode Two airs next week, we had to push it back a week due to some issues, in case you read the earlier date.) Episode One is available on the showreel now. http://mixlr.com/falconfm/showreel/arkham-noire-ep-one/
I've been working on an audio drama for my final school project. It's a supernatural mystery drama called The Midnight Case Files.

It's sort of like a cross between CSI and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

It follows the exploits of private investigator Min (a vampire) and her two assistants Jamie (a human) and his werewolf boyfriend Damon. Together they solve cases of wrongly accused supernatural creatures while slowly unraveling a conspiracy involving a shadowy organization.

Its been a lot of work, but I'm really happy with how its turned out so far. Please give it a listen! We're available on iTunes, Spotify, Anchor and all other major podcast platforms

haha, oh man, we do start off with garbage audio, but I promise I'm trying to straighten us out...
That said, we've just got enough episodes in to our narrative first campaign (Tiding) that we're actively starting to put it out there / ask for feedback, and I'd love to hear what you might think of it!

It's a kind of slow fantasy, community focused narrative, played in a softly decaying world full of enormous shambling god-fragments, if that sparks any joy in you
If you all need a new one - Can I suggest my Radio play I've been putting together that's based on my book?

The damned caravan is a spin-off show set nearly a thousand years in the past to the current timeline. The story is centred around the imprisonment of the Arch-demon Astaroth, and the group who were tasked with its doing. The spin off features a full cast of voice actors aswell as a sound track composed by Randy Greer of Blackstar.
I made this one-- it's a Christmas Special for my show The Misery Loves Company.

You don't need really to have listened to any of the other episodes in the series to like this one. It's a comedy/sci-fi serial about bounty hunters. Star Trek with only the assholes.
We did two Christmas stories for the latest episode of I Am a Brain in a Jar.
In one, Santa finally gets what's coming to him. In the other, Androids teach us the true meaning of Christmas.
Enjoy.

Barjory Buffet: The Cruise Detective is one I enjoyed this year and they just completed the season. Definitely deserves more listeners.
Advanced Sagebrush & Shootouts is an odd-ball buddy-cop series, like an old 80's action movie. Starts with "The Task Force" and they finished 14 storylines plus a bonus D&D type arc. Plenty of comedy adventure and music. #16-4-2.
Consider nominating it for 2019 Audioverse Awards
You need the name: Barjory Buffet: The Cruise Detective
Production site: https://www.buzzsprout.com/204653
And an email address for the production, which I couldn't find, I just used: bradbeideman @gmail .com
Category: Audio Play
It takes 3 nominations to get them in the running. I submitted them for overall production. Writing: Rachel Crowe & Brad Beideman. Performance: Rachel Crowe as Barjory Buffet - leading role, Brad Beideman as Neil Greg - supporting role. Also Sound Design Action: Brad Beideman. The awards can bring more fans to a show, so it's worth trying.

Been following this post, i replied to a similar one previously, if anyone of you have heard, or would be willing to check mine out, for some of these issues id appreciate it alot.
Im very amatuer this is my first podcast and im looking to make changes to the quality of the episodes.
I write the story in between episodes as and when i can... Which is no doubt a mistake, so any pointers there would be great... The latest episodd is sort of the bar ive set for the rest of it so feel free to start there.
To anyone who does thank you for taking time out to help.
Cheers! https://www.buzzsprout.com/160172/702483-ep-6-dark-origins-astaroth-anvidar-and-rowan

I've listened to Inhale: A Superhero Tale this week and really enjoyed it. Sad that it's only one short season -- I would enjoy hearing more about Tamara Tracer!
I'm now listening toX-Men the Audio Drama for more superhero action. It's really well-written and performed, but of course I'm used to different voices from the films that I know, so it was a bit of an adjustment.
The pilot episode of my series Blazed All Our Lives doubles as a Christmas special!
"This is the pilot episode of the series BLAZED ALL OUR LIVES. Sister Indica's media empire (Rogue Nun Productions) is in danger of collapsing due to public outrage. In an attempt to sway the public back to her side, she turns her yearly Christmas soiree into a fundraiser for needy orphans. However, her nemesis Rosie Bush (with the help of her assistant JoAnn Michaels) is determined to make this Sister Indica's LAST Christmas. Will Sister Indica survive to ring in the New Year?"
Listen here!
All my shows are wrapped up under Rogue Nun Productions (which is on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Spotify, etc.). Here is a link to this particular episode - hope this helps! (I will also chat with my podcast host about Pocket Casts)!

Here's an X-Men one I found, but I haven't listened to it yet, so I can't say if it's any good
https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/x-menseries
I'm not sure if it technically counts as superhero, but the bright sessions might be what you're looking for. It's recordings of people with super powers in therapy
Thanks for the link. Just a heads-up: this was caught by reddit's spam filter and I had to manually approve it some hours later. I'm guessing that it's because you linked directly to the RSS feed. I'd recommend making any future links to the regular website. So in this case: http://www.spreaker.com/show/the-scoop-sisters-mysteries
Omega Star 7 launched our reboot last Tuesday and it broke into the top 100 Science fiction on Apple Podcasts (it was only for a day but either way it felt very good to see the progress and work into the first two episodes of our reboot see some return)
Episode 3 is about to finish production, and we’re recording episode 4 tonight meaning we’re ahead and that also feels very good for a budding show.
Production and editing has become easier and easier and the audio of the show made a massive jump in quality from our first iteration to this new show thanks to a few waves plugins and some new microphones.
If you’re interested in hearing Omega Star 7 you can find your place to stream on our Linktree
That’s us! How are your productions going, creators?
I am using a service called voice buddy, a program called Balabolka as well as Microsofts Cortana voice. Voice buddy has both Amazon and google text to speech voices built into it and is available for free here Voicebuddy Balabolka is a free program that can use installed tts voices on your PC. You can download it here Balabolka then I use FL Studio to add better effects and filters to the voices to liven them up and make them more interesting.
I recommend the Business of Being a Writer by Jane Friedman (and her free newsletter). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B9MB32X

I'll give you the punchline though: You have to become a marketer. You have to have a following (of some kind). You have to become an entrepreneur.

It's... not ideal! But that's where the market is right now. It's definitely possible to go viral or have something so good it blows up, but there are far more gems that go unnoticed.
You have quite a few recommendations already so my rec might get lost but my favourite is a BBC comedy called "Dot", it used to be avaible for free but the only place I can find it is on Audible subscription. It's well worth it though. As per normal for a BBC production it has top audio cast and genral audio which helps to immerse you.
it's set in the War time 1940s, but dont let that put you off... it's full of fast written dialogue and quick humour and the time passes really quickly whilst listening to it. The main characters are awesome and you really get a mental picture for who they are and the capers they get into. I think there is an arc but the stories are also episodic so theres nothing to worry about too much story arc plot wise.

The best way to promote such websites is to give people links that they can click on, rather than tell them to go search for it on their own. I assume that this is the URL that you are referring to, but feel free to correct me:
Great list. I have all of them on my list but only finished Video Palace. Which is amazing and so far the best horror audio drama in horror out there. No jumpscares, creepy atmosphere, relateable characters and no stupid behaviour of those.
Interesting to note: While the story is finished with season 1 there is an audiobook/short story collection that expands on certain aspects of the story: https://www.amazon.de/Video-Palace-Eyeless-Collected-Stories/dp/1982156449
It's very different in style with the short stories. I'm in the middle of it. You don't really need to listen to it but for the fans it's a must have. Sadly the audio is just on audible right now. Also I think the quality is a bit up and down. Some of the short stories are amazing and in the same creepy style while others (especially number 2) feel pretty generic and don't live up to the good writing of the actual audio drama.
It was released a few years ago I think. But with BBC radio dramas they rotate them and host them on the site for maybe a month or so? So this came out awhile ago. I want to say at least two or three years. I faintly remember it being on the site back then but I wasn't a member of this sub. Now I saw that they are about to re-air it so I thought that I would link it here in case anyone wanted to listen to it.
https://www.amazon.com/Good-Omens-BBC-Radio-dramatisation/dp/B00S999ED8/ I think they're re-releasing it due to the Amazon Prime show and newfound interest in it overall. They're also about to release the audio drama on CD in September if anyone wants to purchase it.
Amazon is your best bet. I bought mine here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TP7C9YY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_PtzwDb9S23MJN Even though 2 packs don't fully cover my walls, they do fine in my rather spacious make-shift walk-in closet booth. There is no echo unless I'm at the other end of the closet and yelling.
Be warned, foam boards are NOT sound proofing, they ABSORB sound. Most people don't realize this, so before you spend money don't think that this will solve those pesky outside sounds. If you do want sound proofing you need special walls, but that is too pricey for most people.
Anyway,s good luck.
Podcast Addict can acheive this locally - lets you add local device stored folders of mp3s as 'virtual podcasts'.
re: your 'cloud serivce' does that let you get direct .mp3 links? construct a private rss feed using something like Fourble?
If you want a ton of options, I'd suggest Podcast Addict: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bambuna.podcastaddict
Default options works just fine, but there's a lot you can tweak as well.
I love Pocket Casts. I subscribe to a TON of podcasts and I make use of the filters to slice/dice my library to cater to what I want to listen to. For example, with the Spirits podcast, I don't want to listen to _everything_ , so I created a filter to only include downloaded episodes. I don't have to think about adding it to the filter, it just happens when I download.
Another example I use it for - I have the podcast that has a Couch to 80k- a writing activity in the middle of a regular podcast. So I started all those episodes into their own filter so I can listen to them in sequence and find them after the fact if I want to refer back.
You can also use filtered for new releases, unplayed, in-progress, etc.
Combined with the ability to auto-download new Episodes and only keep X number of episodes back, Up Next Queue, Notification of new episodes. Yeah - I love it.
I've tried a few others but none have really stuck with me like Pocket Cats

Podcast Addict has been my go-to for a couple years now. As an audio playback app it's better than...almost anything I've used. You can search for pretty much any podcast and then subscribe to them, can stream or download for offline playback, and keeps all your content organized and saves your spot for each one. I'm currently working my way through a handful of podcasts, each one at a different spot.

Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

p.s. Podcast Addict ftw [can even add your own local mp3s 'as podcasts'] e.g. youtube stripped or audiobooks etc
