Hey everyone! I recently started a PbtA discussion podcast because there just weren't that many out there. I like an actual play as much as the next person, but sometimes I just want to talk about mechanics and rules. So, every week I put out an episode where I talk with a guest about a single move of their choice. We go deep into mechanics, narrative function, and how the GM can respond to the move.
Episode 4 just dropped today and I have a lot more planned already. The link above is for the iTunes version of the show, but you can check out all the listening platforms available (including Google, Overcast, Stitchet, etc.) on the Anchor page: https://anchor.fm/thehardmove
I hope this is something others are looking for in the PbtA community. If you have any feedback, please let me know. Thanks!
You Don't Meet At An Inn did a great Monsterhearts campaign and it seemed to me that every 6- roll was intense and really changed the situation. The MC made good use of their moves.
Maybe check them out as an example.
You might want to look into a reskin of the Happiest Apocalypse On Earth which is a cthulu meets disney world game, where players can be both employees or visitors discovering the dark secrets of the Great Mouse... I feel like it might work to let your players be hospital staff or inmates.
Wow, thanks so much! If you have time, I'd love to hear about what playbooks and dinosaurs you used, what happened in the story, and if it all ran smoothly! Also a comment or review on itch.io would be awesome :D
Thanks again for picking up our game and I'm so happy to hear you and your group had fun!!
I've seen these used as a way to roll dice on the go.
