Blueshirts breakaway is my favorite. Definitely need to join the church of Kakko. I do a podcast with my friends. It's more general hockey talk but me being a Rangers fan, they get brought up a lot. it's called the NoseBleeds podcast. you can find it basically where ever you listen.
Second update: got a prompt reply from a super friendly dude: " That image was part of the NY times store and can be purchased here.
https://www.nytimes.com/store/jacques-plante-1957-nsap1511p.html "
Sorry this photo came out really weird on my screen. It's the camera (phone) taking a pic of a computer screen and then viewing it on another monitor. Try this next time
So HD Ragecenter feeds are broken and the Blabseal feed is packed to all hell...
So... anyone needing a feed, I'm watching the Canadian feeds even though I'm currently in Long Beach, CA.
I'm using Hola to make my IP Canadian. I don't know if the feed works without making my IP Canadian, but I'm watching the game right now, so yeah... I don't care. :)
Hope this is a helper.
EDIT: Blabseal...
I watch on my AppleTV using + unlocator (changes your dns to out of market). Unlocator took 2 minutes to setup on their website and you didn't have to have technical knowledge or change anything on your router. They have a 1 week free trial too, which is what I did to see if it would work.
So, in short, without government intervention no I don't think we will get it.
I pay for NHL TV, and Unlocator, and watch 100% of the games streaming in HD. We pay for the content, we want to support hockey, but fuck me I WANT TO ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO WATCH IT WITHOUT CHEATING.
And way cheaper on Amazon:
I got mine last year and it's awesome!
I did the same thing, several years ago, before moving out of the NJ area. I paid (and still pay for) , then moved to Boleh VPN, who seem to have folded, and am now with ExpressVPN.

I'm on a podcast with my friends. I'm a Rangers fan my two friends are Habs fans. We talk about all hockey but obvi i talk a lot of Rangers. Thought I'd throw my hat in the ring. It's called The Nosebleeds Podcast. I like to think we're pretty funny while breaking down hockey news and different hockey related things.
We have 78 minutes, fewest in the league and 0 fights
http://www.espn.com/nhl/statistics/team/_/stat/major-penalties/sort/penaltyMinutes/order/false
Though the major penalties kind of skew the number a bit since we have none
Yeah actually, this was actually linked in [/r/freebies](/r/freebies) yesterday so try this <--gizmodo article
It worked on my android phone but it seemed to be built for iPhones.
Roku, app, purchase a year of Unlocator and set your roku up accordingly. Bam. Every game ever, in HD. For about $180 I think?
Cheaper than cable and you actually support the NHL and hockey.
Or you can try to find free streams but the quality varies a lot.
Reminder to everyone who is suffering from blackouts. Buy , sign up for Unlocator, watch every hockey game of the season in HD....
LETS GOOOOOO RANGERS! Hope you fuckers are ready for another season!
Quick didn't have surgery. Surgery would keep someone out for a full year probably.
"Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick is now expected to miss about three months after undergoing a nonsurgical procedure to improve a groin injury he suffered in the season opener."
I got you
If you look closer you see Long Island statistics. This is from 2013, somethings changed like the Knicks were a 50 plus win team then but if this was conducted now there shouldn't be that much of a change.
Really wish you didnt put all of the typography at the bottom. Looks like crap with my dock on OS X. :( Other than that it looks sharp. Reminds me of a project I did a while back for a sports related client.
Take a look at
I run Private Internet Access from Android TV. I can't speak to the other VPNs but they should all be fine. Most will offer a free trial. Connect to the VPN in am area out of market, open app and you should be good
Use and pay for Unlocator. Easy to set up, can watch every game ever. You can even "Unlocator" your whole network if you use a ton of devices. I just have each of my Roku units set up to be in Norway or some shit, works great.
Pay for Game Center Live. Pay for Unlocator.
Watch every single game of the regular season and playoffs.
Costs about $150 for the year, totally worth it. I am a fan of paying for content but the blackout rules are bullshit and there are ways around them.
Intermission random thoughts: I've taken a keen interest in the history of the founding fathers of the United States; especially Alexander Hamilton. Looking forward to readibg Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow over break.
Anyone else have an interest in history? If so, what?
here’s the Amazon link! This was the cheapest one I could find lol
Like /u/jusatinn said This goes on sale frequently https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09YJ4QZR3/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?tag=slicinc-20&ascsubtag=ea89e24873ee11ed806c52891ca1aa110INT&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
found a lot for like $7. I looked it up and apparently they’re biodegradable and much better for the environment!
You don't need that. These already exist: https://www.amazon.com/Nash-Ice-Hockey-Skate-Wraps/dp/B083Q6RDCW
Plenty of guys in the league already wear them (or similar), but lots of guys just refuse for various bullshit reasons.
Not sure about Spotify, but here it is on YouTube.
You could also hear it on this album.
That's interesting to me, because I still have VCR recordings of that game from both MSG and ESPN. Were there a lot of places that didn't carry either broadcast?
Also, this comment will get lost in this thread, but I also have what I consider a pretty cool DVD set, which is basically just no-frills complete ESPN broadcasts of all 14 games from the Devils and Canucks series. They're super expensive now, but it's an awesome set, and kind of unique compared to the "best of" highlights DVDs that usually got released with every major sports championship.
Dunno about an adult version, but the pillow itself is super comfortable to have around your neck and behind your head.
This is the one we have, but you can get less expensive versions with a plain cover pattern.
If you choose a VPN that lets you choose the city for your ip address to appear as your location, then this will work. While I know theres many out there like this, my friend uses Betternet (in iOS store, not sure but assume Android as well) to do so.
I usually find a decent stream on first row sports or r/nhl streams. Then I chromecast it to my TV. I used to have luck on center ice or gamecenter watching the away feed of the game.
When I was at work and wanted to watch, I used a location spoofer app, similar to the VPN, and was able to watch everything on gamecenter on my phone.
It's a shiity situation because NHL says you're in a Rangers area, watch the game on MSG on cable. Cable says you're in a Buffalo area, watch the Sabres! I have Time Warner, and a few years ago with Jeremy Lin and Linsanity, there was so much demand for the games that they added MSG2 & MSG+2 overflow channels, but I'd say they only patch the Rangers game in 25% of the time and it's usually in SD.
It was one step with the lawsuit against the NHL to end blackouts in GameCenter, but in NY, with all these teams in the area, it's still a broken system.

I’m only on the first chapter and it’s obvious from like November of 1993 there’s no way this guy is coming back.
I talked about this on my podcast tonight that i record with my friends. Ep 29. Starts around the 48 minute mark.
TL;DL of it is I'm happy we got value for him.
Do you have friends or family that will share their cable login with you? Buy an Nvidia shield and run https://getchannels.com/plus/ on it and login with their creds. 30 day trial or $8/month or $80/yr. I pay for FiOS but this type of thing is my hobby. I have an hdhomerun prime instead of cable boxes since 2012. The best part is that there are no commercials during the broadcast
NHL tv works for those interested with a VPN. Sign up from UK with PayPal and bank account. $100 for the season. Watch with your VPN (I had to use France as UK was detecting somehow and saying to get ESPN+. Watched last night's game and tonight's is ready to begin in 1 minute. Unlocator works as well as I did a trial to verify in case
I'm using Private Internet Access because I got a deal for about $30/year. Nord is even better of a service so you shouldn't have any problems. I used last year (and going to explore that again this year) and I've watched the 2 preseason games with ESPN+ without any problems.
Thanks very much, man. Your replies encouraged me to try again - I got ESPN+ to work with NordVPN on my computer, so if it works consistently, it's going to really help me watch the games on demand the following morning (I live abroad).
Yea, not sure. It may be a city issue or someone else made enough of a fuss about it. I believe Barclays has the same policy.
I recommend bringing a small foldable / reusable grocery bag. I went last week with some coworkers and brought a jersey for a buddy in a reusable bag, along with my vax card and some other loose items. No issues bringing it, and once I gave the jersey to my buddy I folded the bag, clipped it to my belt and pocketed the other junk.

I’m also infinitely scared I’ll be getting fucked this season by ESPN+.
I live in WA and was always able to start 1-2 hours after game start, with scores hidden on NHL TV app (not available on ESPN+ or I can’t find it…), and would use TunnelBear or other VPN to get around blackouts
I also only care about maximum availability. I’ll also test around with using NHL TV app “from places” and report back if this works as a replacement this season.
If anyone else finds a working solution for out of market steamers please let me know!
Gonna take a guess and say Michal Grosek.

I was in the exact same boat. I use through Apple TV. Took 2 minutes to get working, now I get every game. I had to enter 1 number into the settings of my Apple TV and select the country on unlocator's website. I also didn't want to deal with a big configuration hassle. Unlocator has a 7 day free trial too, so it was worth a go for me. Set it and forget it.
Personally I have an subscription and watch the games on my Roku devices. I get around blackouts with Unlocator.
I enjoy paying for the material, because I support hockey and the stream quality has been really good since they switched providers, but fuck blackouts. That shit is nonsense and I ain't got no time for it, hence the location service spoofer.
Question: this works for 100% of the games? And does Unlocator work well and not slow down the stream? I would be willing to do this but am wary about throwing down the money for NHL TV if everything's going to be blacked out.
Well if you don't mind paying, , choose the single team package, Rangers of course... then get a vpn of your choice, I use Private Internet Access. Total price was somewhere in the $150 range. The only problem is there are "national" game blackouts from time to time, but I've been able to watch the past 2 games in HD, with no hiccups.
So unlocator used to work on pretty much everything but now that requires location services on tablets, you can't avoid blackouts on iPad's.
But Roku's? No problem. You just set your roku up to use Unlocators DNS servers and you avoid all blackouts. Well, we have avoided them all so far and with GCL we could watch every game ever.
I did cut the cord. Unlocator works for on the Roku but none of my tablets. GCL worked everywhere.
I like to pay for the content I consume (not judging free streamers by any means) but blackouts are fucking bullshit and archaic.
Watching the first period now after reading your post.
Normally I use the blackout games as an excuse to catch up on the Hawks/Caps/Kings or any other teams I'm curious about. But 13 games is way too much for half a season.
Unlocator seems like it's worth the $5/month for the convenience of not having to test a ton of VPNs.
Is Unlocator something on GameCenter or would that work for MLBTV also? New York transplant living in HI. I am never blacked out on GameCenter for the Rangers but anytime the Yanks play a west coast team despite being 3000 miles away from that market.
I use Unblock-Us to access NHL Gamecenter on my Roku.
I live in Queens, NY and rarely have any issues watching the Rangers games. Once you set up Unblock-Us, it's pretty easy to keep running in the background without issue.

Closest I could find, has blue on the back instead of white.
are there any issues with this one that doesn't have names or numbers? I've been looking at this one for a while and with Christmas coming up, I'd like to remove it from my wish list if this one has problems too
Bought this on Amazon a while back. It was $60 when I got it...I've had multiple people tell me how nice it was when I go to games New York Rangers NHL "Classic CCM" Men's Long Sleeve Jersey Crew Sweatshirt https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014OGKNY8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_tTxtybEP0HVHW

Thanks for the tips guys. I ended up going with "Game of My Life New York Rangers: Memorable Stories of Rangers Hockey" as it seemed to be a pretty general book that would cover a lot of great eras and stories.
I definitely plan on checking out the 2 other mentioned books and will probably just get them for myself and lend them to him. I try to read about a book per week in the summer.
I read this book and he did an AMA in /r/hockey not too long ago. I cant remember the exact percentage that a dump and chase ends up into a goal, but its bad.
Was just looking for a new one last night. Anyone know where I can order a Rangers credit card sized wallet bottle opener? like so
