For anyone interested in this idea, it's more commonly known as the "Ikea Effect." It suggests that we have a preference for things that have to do with us or are partially made by us using our efforts (like terribly misaligned Ikea furniture). This can probably also be applied to the "effort" needed to comprehend certain media.
It's sometimes referred to as "implicit egotism."
NPR text summary of the idea here. Includes quick nods to other parts of the phenomenon including being more drawn to people who share your birthday, name, etc.
Podcast version with far more details (and cited studies) from one of NPR's offshoots, Hidden Brain, that focuses on how the human brain acts weird in different scenarios. (note that the presenter speaks a little slowly, so you may want to speed up the audio to 1.3-1.4X).

Ah, but lolicon has been an integral part of otaku culture from the very start, and we need to acknowledge this fact. Patrick Galbraith talks about this in his essay "The Lolicon Guy": by shutting down discourse on the topic, we perpetuate ideas that talking about it or researching it is somehow wrong or perverse, even though it's an important part of anime culture past, present, and future. (I mean, Uchiyama Aki, the "King of Lolicon," published in a mainstream shonen magazine as well as more niche manga magazines.) We can't ignore or "purify" the parts of history and culture we don't like.
These ideas also reinforce legal positions on this type of content: lolicon is illegal in Canada and Australia, but because of its non-representational nature (lolicon is rooted in ideas and creativity, not reality), that essentially amounts to policing thought crimes.
If you don't have any software like Photoshop and cbf using MSPaint https://www.befunky.com/create/collage/ is easy to use just for collages like the 3x3 shiz you see on /a.
Just import and drag the images into the boxes and you're done!
I'll do one for you if you're lazy since I'm nice like that.
Here you go, nice seeing Redline as someone's favourite. I need to watch it some time soon.
Yes please!
How big are the file sizes? mirroring to catbox would be pretty convenient, but mega link would be enough. Thank you.
I'm pretty sure this playlist will contain a few more hidden videos. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLw6UBKuaMyFCcIGkAqFuT7XotJjcpMfrQ
Back in October--when he made a video every day all month as a bet with his family--he unlisted a handful of the videos he made in that time, but has since un-unlisted some of them, so you can scroll down and find those now.
You may also be aware if you become a $3 patron to him, you get access to deleted and unreleased videos. https://www.patreon.com/digibrony?ty=h
/u/Digibro (and others), to deal with "read receipts," you can use adblock to disable them (at least on desktop).
(Of course test it with your account and a second one).

Wait a sec, https://www.quora.com/How-does-someone-start-a-Multi-Channel-Network-MCN-on-Youtube I guess you have to prove that your network will "add something worthwhile to the Youtube community"
Bleh I say.
hey /u/Digibro bro, in response to your comments on nyanbo. I just watched ep 1 of Moyashimon, and it's OP has the same cgi technique used in nyanbo except aired 9 years earlier.
> I know that this is not a new concept
I wonder if this is what you were referencing to here, seeing that you too have seen ep 1 and currently have the show on hold.
i just wanted to point this example out to anyone whose not seen it.
I'd rather you didn't style it. Custom reddit themes just mess with RES, they generally look quite bad, and they're completely invisible for mobile users. I say all this as someone who has made a couple themes in the past.
Use CSS for some bare minimum stuff like an image in the header, in-line spoiler warnings, and maybe some emoticons, although keep in mind that mobile users will be screwed by a lot of these things.
If you do decide on using a theme, please make sure it is fully RES Night Mode compatible.
Nothing too serious, it was sorta controversial (because seriously, they piss me off) but i admit it was troll like. (I said something to piss them off) but like I responded to jimjam, I used ~~FreeBear~~ and the site worked again, (I'm laughing my ass off)

> consume a bunch of whatever medium you're writing in
To add to this, not only consume or read, but also study! Find out what people are doing right with their writing and emulate it!
I recommend the book The Art of Styling Sentences: although it's structured as a workbook for school, I think it really helped me to improve my writing at the sentence level. There's also E.B. White's The Elements of Style, though I have less experience with that book.
