Yeah, unfortunately it got lost while the movie was in development hell. If you want to know about the people in the flash backs, or at least the little girl, I'd recommend checking out the Fury road comics released along side the film. There was four books, one about Nux and Immortan Joe, one about Furiosa, and two on Max. The two about Max tell about the little girl. The compendium with all 4 comics is only 12.50 on Amazon, if you're interested.

Edit: I forgot to say that I personally thought the comics were fantastic. If you like Mad Max, specifically Fury Road, it gives some great background, detail and awesome lore that enhances the film
Per George Miller himself, see the second question. Of course you're free to your interpretation, I just prefer to stick to his word.
Edit: The actual quote in question: >When looking at the four films as a whole, where does Fury Road take place in the timeline?
>Miller: If you put a gun to my head, I’d say after Thunderdome, but it’s very loose. I can’t even work out the chronology of the first, second and third, let alone the fourth thirty years later.
He hasn't said it in as many words, but when you corner him and flat out ask about Max's continuity, he first avoids the topic and then gets mythological.
"If you put a gun to my head, I’d say after Thunderdome, but it’s very loose. I can’t even work out the chronology of the first, second and third, let alone the fourth thirty years later."
"They’re kind of like standalones exploring the whole world – like Westerns. The loner, you know? I think it predates cinema, actually. There was always the wanderer, who wandered the wasteland looking for some kind of meaning or purpose. From samurais to Vikings, and especially Westerns."
Max is a mythological figure, and that air of mystery around him is part of that allure. One thing I liked about Fury Road is that even though Max gives us some voice over and we have glimpses inside of his head, everything we see raises more questions then answers. Max himself can't really tell you where he came from or where he thinks he's going when he takes off back into the Wasteland. A guy like that would inspire people who met him, even in passing, to construct their own tales of what he's done and what they think has happened to him.
I'm looking forward to these comics! In a way, I hope they don't clear up too much...I like looking at The Road Warrior, Beyond Thunderdome, and Fury Road as retellings of the events that Max was involved in after wandering into the wastelands after Mad Max.
George Miller himself said that Fury Road wouldn't quite work in the timeline:
>Miller: If you put a gun to my head, I’d say after Thunderdome, but it’s very loose. I can’t even work out the chronology of the first, second and third, let alone the fourth thirty years later.
Recent interview on Fandango had Miller saying it's probably after Thunderdome, but he's not 100% sure either.
Miller said if there was a timeline that it would be after Thunderdome. See this interview: http://www.fandango.com/movie-news/interview-director-george-miller-answers-all-your-big-mad-max-fury-road-questions-749278
>Oh and BTW FR takes place between Mad Max and Road Warrior
According to Miller, he said that if he had to place Fury Road in the timeline, it would be after Beyond Thunderdome:
>Miller: If you put a gun to my head, I’d say after Thunderdome, but it’s very loose. I can’t even work out the chronology of the first, second and third, let alone the fourth thirty years later.
These are amazing! I'd like to see a retro 50's recruitment War Boy design: https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=join+the+war+50s&view=detailv2&&id=190C465CBC98141F6CC2AF83F1124DD6E4DBA1BC&selectedIndex=2&ccid=Oz5MPqOh&simid=608026903068082697&thid=OIP.M3b3e4c3ea3a140ac98d8770e95c17de5o0&aj...
Type of thing with the Warboys, I've seen the one with Immortan Joe but think it could be done better with the Warboys featured more.
There is an awesome article that collects some movies with really close aesthetics and settings! Some of the movies are absolutely cool. Stryker, SHE, and Savage Dawn are all pretty awesome ones!
Use this.

Just use the basic burn in test and keep an eye on your temps while running it. This is a GPU stress tester but if you have a PSU problem it'll also trigger that most likely.
for me... as a command line linux person... I used 'imagemagick' - it's a powerful image manipulator, but it's commandline - so it's not actually well suited to casual use beyond the trivial (but it's great for scripting if you want repeatability or various insane cleverness! ;)
For this specific case, I saved the original, and ran the following command:
convert maxresdefault.jpg -geometry 1360x768! maxres1360.jpg
Or in human prose "convert the image maxresdefault.jpg into a new image, with geometry 1360 wide by 768 high, stretch it to fit EXACTLY!, and save to maxrex1360.jpg". Without the "!" to force the scaling, it would scale to fit as large as possible within that size, but without losing aspect ratio. In this case, that was 1360x765. The "!" is escaped: "!" because the commandline treats exclamations special.
With imagemagick it's definitely possible to crop the black out (probably even auto-detect and crop), and then scale as need be... but in reality, I'd open up an image editing program for that (and happy to do so, if you know what you want in terms of "lose the edges" vs "distort the image" ;)

Actually he said he thinks it takes place AFTER Beyond The Thunderdome. That's how I see it. I wouldn't look too deep into little continuity things – it's like James Bond before the Craig reboot. They all take place chronologically despite being decades apart, with Bond's age changing back and forth.

And here's a Battlestar Galactica Imperious Leader action figure. This never appeared in any show whatsoever, and looks entirely different from the Imperious Leader that DID.
Using toys as proof for an argument aren't always the most reliable, since most toys for movies and such are done on a schedule. Its possible the concept of Bad Cops was changed late in filming when the toys had already been made and packaging already done up when it was too late to do anything about it.
Yeh it was just another WTF Miller is madman moment in the movie
The reviews for the chrome cake spray paint on Amazon are still gold https://www.amazon.com/Chefmaster-Edible-Spray-Decorating-Color/dp/B0722JQ2ZV
Here we go; it's a spot to start, at least - Your road to Tomorrow-Morrow Land :D
Miller kind of flipped on that recently: http://www.fandango.com/movie-news/interview-director-george-miller-answers-all-your-big-mad-max-fury-road-questions-749278
So it could be a Thunderdome kid, or it could be someone from the time between the films that we might learn more about later.
So I know the track your talking about, it's been a few years, but I believe it a minor part of a larger track on the extended original Soundtrack. I jumped on amazon and found this, you can see a track list perhaps it might narrow it down for you. https://www.amazon.com/Mad-Beyond-Thunderdome-Maurice-Jarre/dp/B003L1N4S0/ref=pd_sbs_15_2/130-0105506-0836560?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B003L1N4S0&pd_rd_r=155f99b5-fede-4d88-9e90-58875685ea39&pd_rd_w=16F3B&pd_rd_wg=FQ9EW&pf_rd_p=ed1e2146-ecfe-435e-b3b5-d79fa072fd58&pf_rd_r=72MYMV7ZTSVWEV6XQQ2Q&psc=1&refRID=72MYMV7ZTSVWEV6XQQ2Q
No? I don’t think so, correct me if I’m wrong. But, speaking of promo material: I would’ve loved the sky to be dark like it was in the promo posters.
I think there's a couple different art books out there? I have this one https://www.amazon.com/Art-Mad-Max-Fury-Road/dp/1783298162/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1516896685&sr=8-1&keywords=fury+road+art+book It contains a little bit of storyboard art and concept art, but just fragments. It's a nice book, lots of photos of set stuff that you don't get to see in detail in the movie, but not straight up storyboards.
I tried for awhile to find "closer to movie accurate" pads, but I couldn't find anything that was really in an "acceptable" price range for just Halloween. I did end up getting a set off Amazon for pretty cheap, linked below. You end up deconstructing the pad so you just have the softer pad and plastic shoulder plate. I was worried about cracking the plastic, so I just drilled holes in the plastic and riveted them together.
Well interestingly enough either they deleted the comment or editted it out. Someone had posted a link to the anthrology on Amazon, [http://www.amazon.com/Mad-Anthology-4-Film-Collection-Blu-ray/dp/B00XUV1B4U](as such.)
And my bad, "mad max 4 movies" was the first thing I tried and if only had a link to JB Hifi (Australian retailer). I meant to say "Mad Max Collection"
Im pretty sure this is an official poster. I found it on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/MAD-MAX-FURY-Movie-Poster/dp/B00XPTMSD0/ref=sr_1_4?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1442883811&sr=1-4&keywords=mad+max+poster
Here you go! I got this one last year, it's super easy to track down in great shape. The first two are nearly impossible to find in any shape.
I'm going to recommend Liberation: Being the Adventures of the Slick Six After the Collapse of the United States of America by Brian Francis Slattery.
>Liberation is a speculation on life in near-future America after the country suffers an economic cataclysm that leads to the resurgence of ghosts of its past such as the human slave trade. Our heroes are the Slick Six, a group of international criminals who set out to alleviate the worst of these conditions and put America on the road to recovery. Liberation is a story about living down the past, personally and nationally; about being able to laugh at the punch line to the long, dark joke of American history.
I read this book years ago and loved it, and it now strikes me as very much in the same tone as Mad Max.
Well, I just looked at my Blu-Rays. All three of them say the same thing on the back, which is: 'dts-HD Master Audio DOLBY DIGITAL'. Mine is a different release than yours, though, as my covers are all different.
This is the one I have: [Mad Max Blu-Ray trilogy}(http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mad-Trilogy-Blu-ray-Region-Free/dp/B00CP1ZSA4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1434554570&sr=8-1&keywords=mad+max+blu+ray+trilogy). All three in one box.
I don't know what region you're in, but the boxset from Amazon.co.uk is only 12 quid, so if you're really bothered by the sound, you might be better off returning them and just buying the boxset?
Here's pictures of the covers of mine and also the back of The Road Warrior. http://imgur.com/a/o8uvi#0
