It's one of the original holy grail low pH cleansers on r/skincareaddiction and have been using it for a few years now. I just buy it from large asian stores like T&T or Ocean's (Toronto area), but sometimes amazon is cheaper. I stocked up on a few bottles when I was in Japan because it's only like $4 there or something
Their hyaluronic liquid is also amazing if you have dry/dehydrated skin! You just pat a small amount over your face before applying moisturizer and your face just sucks up all the moisture.
These. I have a beauty blender, but I'd actually prefer to use these ones. And there are 3 to a pack, how can you go wrong?
Actually instead you should try these exfoliating Italy Towels that they use for Korean Scrubs, I just got them on amazon.ca https://www.amazon.com/pcs-Asian-Exfoliating-Bath-Washcloth/dp/B004C8DR1U and I love them, I just use them in the shower before your body wash/soaps/ shaving, I usually use them once a week after after my hair step, so that my skin gets softer from the water. They are reusable too.
I think you just need to buy a larger sharpener. Annabelle makes its own that fits 3 sizes, so it likely makes pencils that aren’t standard size.
The Wet N Wild crease brush (white handle) is a big favourite of mine: https://www.amazon.ca/Wet-n-Wild-Crease-Brush/dp/B01EO2KLDU/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=wet+n+wild+brush&qid=1610331547&s=beauty&sr=1-4
The angled brush from the same Wet N Wild line (white handle) happens to be my favourite for applying brow powder. I don't think it's available on Amazon though.
I am also partial to my Sigma E45 for doing more detailed crease work--which I rarely do. For the amount of use I get out of this brush, I'm not sure it was worth the ~20$.
I hadn't heard anything but dug through some google results and found this odd pamphlet https://www.slideshare.net/JuliaMarchionda/launching-ulta-beauty-in-toronto-708697
Edit: on more searching this was a case study some students did for a university project. Needs a disclaimer on it.
I bought mine from the company “JHS-TECH” on amazon but it appears that they no longer sell the string lights version I got (new second generation from company: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B078J4TWJW?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image&th=1). This one from Chende is identical to the set I got months ago: https://www.amazon.ca/Chende-Hollywood-Dimmable-10-kit/dp/B075XLRHNQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_10_sspa?crid=39UDJF22RNMDA&keywords=led+vanity+light&qid=1554606047&s=gateway&sprefix=led+vanity+&sr=8-10-spons&psc=1. You can also look up “LED vanity lights” for other options/price points.
Amazon.ca and it’s on sale rn!
https://www.amazon.ca/DHC-Deep-Cleansing-Oil-4-1/dp/B00KHO5464
My review: dissolves makeup pretty well. Oil emulsify when water is added. Would recommend rubbing it in the skin (gently) before adding water.
Check out /r/Buffalo.
And check out this shopping guide.
Make sure to check out some of their cultural attractions. Buffalo's an actually cool place for galleries, museums, theatre and music. Be sure to take advantage of the 4 am last call.
I absolutely love my 25 piece Jessup brush set (available in different finishes too) which includes 15 for eyes and 10 for face. I've been using them for almost 3 years now and they are still holding strong.
Before buying, I did research them and was surprised on the great feedback and reviews. I do have a number of higher end brushes, but I seem to reach for these instead based on overall performance. I definitely recommend them.
I also love Real technique brushes. I can't seem to say enough about them! They sell 2 kits that I have seen so far and both are amazing. You can get them at many drugstores, but I got mine from amazon. The purple eye starter kit is $18 on amazon for a set of 5 atm
I found it on Amazon for 4.99 with free shipping on orders over CA$35 I'm not sure if it's worth it but if there's other stuff that you want from amazon, it may be worth a shot since you've practically looked everywhere
or on ebay approx. C $7.56 and shipping is C $5.71) http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Wet-N-Wild-Color-Icon-Comfort-Zone-Eyeshadow-Palette-Multicoloured/272084595710?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140620091118%26meid%3D7a276aaca2444a3b9a58c4c175167b1b%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%...
I tried my best to help! Good luck!
I've seen a bunch of options you can grab from Amazon (though I haven't tried them myself yet). These are on my wishlist: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07FJLMMBS/?coliid=I115X27ZK2HHN1&colid=CWHCVE8B09UQ&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
I bought some off Amazon, bought a framed mirror from HomeSense, glued lights to mirror and made a base from scrap 2 ×6 lumber, covered it with some vinyl wrap, voila!
You bet, darling! There are a bunch of different dupes, but this is the one I got (of her New Nude Palette). I truly find it to be stupidly good and it’s $10.88 CAD on Prime!
I have her Mercury Retrograde Dupe as well and it ALSO is soooo good! I couldn’t find that one ☹️ but like New Nudes, there are other versions for the dupe. I AAALLLLSSOOO have a dupe for her Naughty Palette from Amazon Prime. All 3 of these were each ~$10-15. Lmk if you get one!
Seems like it’s in stock on Amazon as well?
Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Sky high Mascara, Blackest Black, 7.2 ml. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08H3JPH74/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_CNDDQHEXC9KV0BF871K7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
What about something like this
Then you could pull the mirror close to your face while using both hands for makeup?
They have a dark cocoa as an add-on item on Amazon - other shades are $10+
For me, the Sephora pro one is too deep. But that's just personal preference; for ongoing usage. You say you will use if for storage, because no vanity....so it may work excellently for storage for you. But for me, I wanted one that was more travel friendly on an ongoing basis; holds enough for typical trips, easy to just place on bathroom counter/vanity (and in hotels) and have everything at hand, easily found without rooting around in deeper compartments. So, with all that being said, this is the one I ordered. I have NOT received it yet, as I ordered it off the US Amazon site (cheaper), and it is waiting for me in the US as an Xmas present to myself :) I just am tired of having too many separate makeup bags in my suitcase. I ordered the medium, as I felt it was the right "in between" size for my uses. The large would just be too big to take on weekend or week long trips (and take up too much room in my suitcase!) and the small was just, well, too small :) I don't know if these are suitable for your uses but thought I would toss them out there. I know a few folks who have them and love them. https://www.amazon.ca/ROWNYEON-Cosmetic-Makeup-Portable-Organizer/dp/B01DW1TEQ4/ref=pd_ybh_a_7?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=FE14TMF9QBTEZEYQDAP9&th=1
I ordered from some Amazon! I was a bit skeptical but figured even one solid brush out of the group for $15 would be worth it, and I'm SUUUUPER pleasantly surprised, I love them all! (I did also get the eye set from the same brand, all good brushes too - but these ones were the winners in my eyes):
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B074PLBFGR/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I've had the same issues come up with some Gold Bond but it seemed to be specific to specific products but not others, the Aveeno I had to buy online on Amazon unfortunately because I couldn't find the fragrance free version in the stores near me.
I really loved Cerave bebe but eventually switched entirely over to Aveeno because I couldn't get a large bottle and it's quite expensive compared to Aveeno and Gold Bond which worked just as well.
If you're up to it I have genetically very dry skin and found I can adjust any moisturizer (body or face) to be more intensive by mixing a little bit of glycerin in right before I apply (better for night/just before bed because it can feel a bit sticky) and the morning after I wake up with really well hydrated skin. Glycerin in pretty cheap and usually in the first aid aisle :)
The brow wiz is currently $14.70 on Amazon today! I just ordered a brow wiz and dipbrow for the price of 1 regular priced product.
You can get them on Amazon. The only one with prime shipping is a mix of square and round though (https://www.amazon.ca/Allwon-Stickers-Magnetic-Eyeshadow-Depotting/dp/B07BDKSCFW/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?keywords=eyeshadow+metal+stickers+round&qid=1588202834&sr=8-2). Non-prime options are cheaper and have round only
Looks like you can still order the powder from Amazon.ca but I'm not sure how fresh it would be.
I know that some people use the NYX jumbo eye pencil in Milk as a base for eyeshadows - have never tried it myself, but a YouTube search will turn up a bunch of suggestions as to how to use it:
It’s getting embarrassing how often I recommend this but: covergirl tinted lip balm in berry bliss.
It’s like a more hydrating dupe for Clinique’s black honey, and the colour looks amazing on everyone.
For $7, it’s impossible to beat, have one for my vanity and in every purse.
Yes, give it a try! If you don’t like olive oil, cetaphil is supposed to be very good as a cleanser from a drug store. Cetaphil
I've used a rolling craft tote, with zuca pouches inside. Lots of outside pockets and not super expensive. (Something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/Everything-Mary-Rolling-Craft-Black/dp/B07LB5MP7Z)
Pretty solid advice throughout the thread so far, but yeah, as a pretty minimalist makeup wearer myself, would recommend just bumping up the stuff you’re already using up one notch.
So: clear brow gel -> tinted brow gel (Elf makes a really good one); clear mascara -> subtle, dark brown formulation (I’m into Asian mascara’s these days, but there are endless great drugstore options, just see what’s on sale and check reviews/Reddit forums).
In terms of face products, I’ve tried a bunch of fancy ones, but still come back to Rimmel’s BB cream as a daily staple. I typically apply with a beauty blender sponge, but a cheapy dupe from ELF of other will totally get the job done or just use your fingers.
Would also propose a sheet lip tint to bump up the look - Clinique black honey works on literally everyone, but cover-girl of all brands has an AMAZING dupe called Bliss you Berry for like $5 - it looks dark in the tube but it really just a sheet colour wash that could also be used as a subtle sheer blush. Burt’s Bees also makes a tinted balm that’s very popular and available at all Shoppers.
Oooh, also: eyelash curler! Shiseido is the gold standard, but any old option will do to see if you like it (heck, they probably sell a decent one at the dollar store).
Mostly it’s about playing around and seeing what you like + what works for you - enjoy!
Swear to god: covergirl tinted lip balm in bliss you berry
Dead ringer for Clinique’s black honey (which I’ve probably carried in every purse I’ve had since HS)…except somehow even better.
I have one from Amazon that works well for me, but it’s since doubled in price so try and find a comparable one maybe ….
I think Asian beauty brands might be your best bet here. I've heard rave reviews about the Kiss Me Heroine ones but I've never tried them myself. This is the brown version on Amazon.
I really like the "Bye Bye Panda Eyes" by Essence but I don't know if it comes in brown.
Look for metal pencil sharpener that have two holes, usually one is got charcoal pencil and one is for smaller pencil! I got mine from local art supply stores. Amazon also have something similar like this
Mine is a bit more expensive and copper because i like the colour and weight. But they look similar to what I linked.
Dual ended angled brush/spoolies are one of my favourite and most-used makeup tools. Since I use a powder to do my brows, I'm not looking for "crisp edge" type angled brush. But I have tested quite a few brushes of this style from available on Amazon.ca
I think that the one from ELF would suit your needs the best. I don't love that the spoolie is only half length, but the angled brush is quite stiff and can make very thin lines. I believe it costs 5$ and, in case it doesn't work out, Amazon offers free returns on this item (even if used).

So I have this curler and love it. Sadly I got mine off Amazon and its no longer on there. There is this set with a similar curler or this Tweezerman one as well. I have issues with traditional curlers not getting the corners but my Revlon one gets it all. I find it easier to use and can get into the corners without making weird crimps in my other lashes.
It’s the EZ Basics one on Amazon, lots of reviews:
EZBASICS Facial Cleansing Brush, Waterproof Sonic Vibrating Face Brush for Deep Cleansing, Gentle Exfoliating and Massaging, Inductive charging (Blue) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08BJ644GH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_D9MB5KSTSHBTMXX2YMNT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I like it. I haven’t tried the Foreo so can’t compare it to that but I find the silicone quite soft, it cleans easily and I like that I can keep it in the shower. I’ve only charged it once and the battery life seems long lasting. For $30 I think it’s worth trying, I find it makes my skin a lot softer with regular use and is less harsh than exfoliating products (I have sensitive skin). I don’t foresee myself ever buying a Foreo at this point since this seems to work well enough and is $200 less!
I saw some on Amazon, that was like $65, not sure if it's the size you need.
You could also check with a company like uline that sells wholesale boxes and the like
Voyageur Soap and Candle sells a 90% lactic acid and it's very affordable, but I just checked their website and they're out of stock. Amazon has something similar and the price is pretty good. I use it full strength on callused heels, but you have to dilute it with 2x water to avoid chemical burns on the face (don't ask how I know this)
Lactic Acid (88% Solution), 5oz https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00ZPVJKN2/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_QACDX18NXTPDJKW2TJRR
Check FB marketplace. I found a bottle of The Ordinary 30% lactic acid + 2% salicylic there for $20.
Last resort: Babyfoot on your face.
You’ve mentioned that you’re unable to soak or steam your skin to soften it. Have you tried soaking a towel in warm water (as much as you can tolerate) and then wrapping that around your trouble areas and letting it sit for a few minutes? That should help soften up your skin to where scrubs or other physical or chemical exfoliators can do a better job on the dead skin.
I would also suggest getting a shower brush with a long handle that you can use to get to harder to reach areas, like your back, legs, private areas, etc. The wooden ones are nice and sturdy (the plastic ones can be flimsy and break). You can find them in many stores like Walmart, Winners, Marshalls, etc. or online like Amazon. Depending on the bristles you’re looking for, you can get brushes that are more coarse and firm or soft and gentle. And some offer removable brushes that you can use alone without the stick or swap out for brushes to massage your body.
There is also this other one called a loofah back/body scrubber, it’s basically this long piece of fabric that has a soft side and a loofah/scrubber side, and then there’s a rope handles on either ends so you can grab onto the ends and then scrub your back or legs with it.
Here’s a set I found on Amazon that has the shower brush with removable brushes, and a back/body scrubber, so you can see what I’m talking about: https://www.amazon.ca/Spclsim-Scrubber-Natural-Exfoliating-Circulation/dp/B08R3XHY7P/
Hope this helps!
Just wanted to add, good for you for reaching out and asking the community, there are probably people reading this who also have the same issue and appreciate the advice in the comments.
I have super dry skin and I’ve found the exfoliating mitts you can get really help. They work best when you skin is very wet and the mitt is dry. If there’s any way you can get your skin moist enough that it’s been wet for a few minutes, use the mitt to remove the dead skin.
Here’s the most popular one but there are cheaper versions on Amazon:
Dermasuri Deep Exfoliating Mitt Body Scrub for Soft Skin - Skin Cleanser - Part of the Best Body Care Kit for Women & Men - Dead Skin Remover for Body - Exfoliator Tool https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00EL11LW0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_3535Z8VSDC5KA6548KJC
This is the one I ordered!
Here is the solution. It's CHEAP, easy, and available at any Shoppers.
First use this to draw in your brows; use the spooly to soften the edges:
https://www.amazon.ca/NYX-PROFESSIONAL-MAKEUP-Micro-Pencil/dp/B00WZRQNAC
Then use any clear mascara (Maybelline and Cover Girl are usually always available) to gently sweep brows in place and set where you want them. Don't glob it on and it will dry quickly and stay put for the entire day.
Personally I like microfibre ones that have velcro so they’re easy to take off once you’re done, like this
I don't know if there's a "best" headband since it'll come down to personal preference. I hate the novelty fluffy ones because they're too bulky, and a lot of the fabric/elastic ones slip off my head. I normally put on something like this since I already have them kicking around and they're easier and more comfortable for me to use.
Hopeshine Face Makeup Removing Cloths
Danielle "Erase Your Face" Makeup Removing Cloths
These are basically Makeup Eraser dupes. I use them, soaked in lukewarm-warm water, to remove my cleansing balm.
I have many. I'm not a fan of the large lettering on the Glossier one. I've used large pencil cases, fanny packs and other pouches not advertised for makeup. I currently have this luminescent set - the large one is good for travel: https://www.amazon.ca/Portable-Organizer-Holographic-Geometric-Reflective/dp/B08VMR29J2/ref=sr\_1\_48?keywords=luminescent+makeup+bag&qid=1639714981&s=beauty&sr=1-48
Ah, nope! Not that one. I’ve never tried that one, though. For some reason, Shoppers doesn’t carry it?
This is the one: Wet n Wild 851A Photo focus eyeshadow primer, 0.34 Fl Oz, Only A Matter of Prime https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01AFP8HS6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_FBARMVMD49NJCS8TQNV9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Nope. In my opinion, these sponges are identical in performance.
I used to use this nyx Matte black liner alll the time: NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP Matte Liquid Liner, Waterproof Eyeliner - Black, Vegan Formula https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XILM7BI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_M7JTQ6MQRQC64YD2DA7V
I just stopped wearing eyeliner but it was really good and didn’t smudge on me and is the same style as the one you linked!
Packaging is such a growing issue with the huge amount of online shopping. I love that you brought it up, it really has been getting a bit ridiculous. I'm all for protecting products, but some companies like amazon need to calm down already.
I've been looking into this topic a lot, since most of the people I know usually just recycle or straight up chuck any packaging. I'm trying to be more mindful of the waste I create/contribute to, so googled what to do with the materials. Pinterest and youtube actually do have some good ideas! I've used the boxes as sorters, covered them in nice paper and reused them as gift boxes, and even used them in my garden as a biodegradeable mulch. (Earthworms love cardboard!) Right now, I know boxes are in demand for storing flower bulbs as fall creeps along.
There is definitely a number of people who are looking for these boxes and packaging materials. Everything from people moving, to small online sellers (eg. I've recently got into selling things online on Poshmark, and I need all the boxes because I refuse to be the reason for more box waste). There are probably a lot of people who could use the packaging if you do not need them. I've run out of all the extra ones I had, so now I have friends saving them for me. I keep an eye out for them on the facebook buy nothing/palz trading/freecycle groups. I am sure there are lots of people who would be happy to take the materials off your hands.
https://www.freecycle.org/browse/CA
This is the Nyx one (it also comes in a loose form) https://www.google.com/shopping/product/4135917896995663648?lsf=seller:8381546,store:13760282039697031347,lsfqd:0&prds=oid:3836175818440533560&q=face+powders&hl=en-ca&ei=AnkyYeqbAcLU7gKnvKjIDQ&lsft=gclid:EAIaIQobChMI8ePGt8bj8gI...
If you’re just starting out i recommend getting false lashes from Amazon, they have 10 packs of various types of lashes so you can try out different looks (fluffy, casual, glam, etc.) and they’re very affordable. I usually get these
I tried this one https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B082FWPZ5Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which comes with both the lashes and the liner, as of a few months ago when I got it I saw people complain that they wanted to buy them separately but couldn't so I'm not sure it'd be feasible financially to get it just for the liner if you weren't okay with the thicker band also
I’ve been using the Hairart Hair Straightener for almost 1.5 decades now!!
my first one lasted me almost 11 years with daily use, I’m on my second one now cause my first one’s wires finally frayed beyond saving. i honestly cannot recommend this hair straightener enough, and it’s under $150 CAD.
another thing to note is i have the Dyson Corrale as well and i’d say the Hairart is on par with the Dyson.
I've got 2b/2c hair and I love this curl cream from amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B009AZ3WH4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I've also found that squish to condish and plopping helps a ton. I only wash my hair every 7-9 days and I can use the curl cream I listed above 2 or 3 times without my hair getting greasy, etc. Shea moisture has a curl cream as well, and many of their products are curly girl friendly (no sulfates, silicones, heavy waxes, etc.) I've never tried the curl cream, but I use their shampoo regularly.
Another good product is: https://www.amazon.ca/Taliah-Waajid-Curls-Waves-Naturals/dp/B004XNEH9U/ref=sr_1_100?dchild=1&keywords=curl+cream&qid=1605151449&sr=8-100
It's a little more heavy and would work better for those with thick hair that can take a heavier product without being weighed down.
Sorry not what you asked but - speaking of gloss, my favorite formula is L.A. Colors High Shine Shea Butter Lip Gloss and specifically in the shade Dollface.
I discovered it at a Family Dollar on a visit to States back in 2016 and its the best gloss formula imo. Its hydrating (has shea butter), beautiful colors (nudes to brights), medium pigment (not super opaque but not barely there pigment either, can hold its own as a standalone lip product without any lip liner which I like, more sheer on the lips than what is shown in the link), majority of the shades do not have any sparkle to them, not super sticky but not thin like an oil (again just the perfect gloss formula) and incredibly good price.
In fact I moved houses one winter and lost my lip balms in the process for about two weeks and the only thing I found in my backpack was this lip gloss and I wore it all the time and literally no dry lips. Out of all of my lip products, this shade and formula is a holy grail item for me, I will never be without it.
Here is a link so you can try it out lol! https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B015RPE16G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have seen you tubers who say it’s not worth it compare to the $50.00 Revlon https://www.amazon.com/Revlon-One-Step-Dryer-Volumizer-Brush/dp/B01LSUQSB0. Which I like a lot. It’s best for volume at crown and sides for me.
I know I might get some shade here for this answer but my holy grail eyeliner is Maybelline Hyper Easy (Link to it on Amazon). I had the Glossier liquid liner and I loved it at first, and it dried out and was gone within two months of less-than-regular use. I emailed them because I thought it was maybe an issue with mine? They said that was normal but gave me $20 in credit to buy a new one. I emphasized that I wasn't even using it regularly, stored it upside down, etc. If it was a cheap liner then maybe that would be acceptable, but not for a $20 liner. Anyway, after that I tried this Maybelline liner from Walmart and it actually has been amazing. It goes on darker than my Stila felt tip and is so easy to handle. The brush tip on it is wonderful. All around it is amazing and I own like three of them.
EDIT: Fixed the link EDIT 2: Wording
Fingers crossed!! My absolute favourite I get there is the Leaders Insolution Aquaringer mask. It hydrates and plumps my skin up like nothing else! It's usually $35 for 10 there but I just found it on Amazon for $25
https://www.amazon.ca/Leaders-Clinic-Aquaringer-Skin-10pcs/dp/B00AT8RI44
Typically those people are reffering to the "dupes" made by chinese companies and sold on sites like Aliexpress. Amazon has slightly stricter rules when it comes to makeup products.
And the day to night pallette which is no longer available.
Found it on amazon. Not sure about details of the seller.
Time to get your sunscreen on then! ;)
I'm very partial to this one for body use:
Nivea Japan Perfect Water Gel Spf35 / Pa +++
It's cosmetically elegant, doesn't have a strong smell or white cast and is easy to apply. I either get in on Amazon or at my local T&T for a few dollars more.
Happy hunting and have a great trip!
if you’re looking for something to remove makeup, i recommend this makeup removing towel from amazon. It’s reusable&washable so it’s not contributing to your garbage like makeup wipes do, and it somehow magically removes all the makeup from my face. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07GSN4B59?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Jerdon JGL9W Tabletop Tri-Fold Two-Sided Lighted Makeup Mirror with 5x Magnification and 4-Light Settings, White Finish https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0000AFUT3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_MEvhDb14ZPWFP
I bought this one from Amazon and I’ve been really happy with it so far. The different light settings are very helpful.
I got this eyeshadow brush set from Lamora on Amazon. There’s also a brush set for face makeup—foundation, concealer, bronzer, highlight, you name it. They come in cute colors and are packaged in a nice cardboard tube which is great so that they don’t get dust on them when I’m not using them. I’ve had them for months and they still look nice even after frequent cleanings.
Amazon also has Real Techniques brushes that are nice. I just got the setting brush recently and I’ve enjoyed using it for a lot of different applications.
I have 2 that I use, both offer excellent lighting options.
The more expensive is a larger one, here I waited for a sale and got it for $125 last year, it seems to go on sale 4-5 times a year. It is very bright on the highest "daylight" level and would definitely work if you had no other lights on at all.
Second, mostly because my vision isn't great, I bought this one which is also surprisingly bright on tue highest level and gives a daylight light. I've had it for a few years now and wouldn't want to go without it. It also goes on sale frequently and I watched until it went down to $20 only. It's foldable and very compact if that's a factor.
I would recommend either one depending on budget, they both offer good and realistic lighting for me.
I found a similar listing on Amazon here if you want to take a look.
The iron was so much easier than when I used a flat iron because of the large surface area!
This is the one I bought. It was a little thick, but it worked with my Pat McGrath palettes. Not sure how well it would work for other pans though
I've heard great things about the Infiniti Pro by Conair Titanium Flat Iron. I can't attest but some say its comparable to the babyliss nano titanium iron
I looked and it doesn’t seem like Shoppers carried this particular product😭 but I found it on Amazon for $29 if you haven’t seen it already? https://www.amazon.ca/Living-Proof-Perfect-Triple-Shampoo/dp/B07MYCXKGG
i've been using the sensitive cleansing oil from muji -- i have the 400 mL version, i think it was around $30 but it lasts FOREVER (and I don't use it sparingly or anything like that) i don't think it's offered online in canada though so it might be hard to get with everything going on :(
i've also used the DHC deep cleansing oil, it's terrific and a bit more expensive (in that it's around the same price for less product) but you can get it off of amazon and it also lasts really long!! it's offered on costco.ca too but it's a bit more expensive than on amazon (i guess due to shipping costs), might be cheaper if you were able to go in-store though
I bought these from amazon and I can promise you I’ll never buy a beauty blender again. You get a pack of 5 for ~$10-$15 cause they go on sale frequently. I found the BB absorbed too much makeup. These are the best combination of soft and firm!
Awesome! It's also available on Amazon (genuine).
It looks like you have nice skin so you probably don't need that much foundation unless that's the look you're going for! The colour might be too cool-toned and pale, too. What about just wearing a tinted moisturizer or BB cream or whatever, and some cream or liquid blush? Maybe have the blush cover a wider area, placed a bit more like where a spray of freckles would be and blended out. If you have really dark circles under your eyes (can't tell) maybe use just a little bit of yellow-toned corrective concealer in the middle, blended out well so there isn't that white 'u' effect. The blush could overlap it some. To me you look like a perfect candidate for Glossier-style makeup Some people's faces can take tons of makeup and still look natural; you look like someone who doesn't need much at all. Not sure what your brows are like but I'd make them on the darker side with a liquid pen like this https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0025X0PCS/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_5?smid=A3BMTK3TFIAEPB&psc=1 .
this is the one i have (did not purchase on amazon though) bought it locally
Hada Labo is my holy grail and it's also one of the most popular and recommended ones on both r/skincareaddiction and r/asianbeauty.
You can get it at Asian stores like Ocean's or T&T or order online for cheaper. It's foaming but it has a low pH so it won't strip your face. The foam is so soft like bathing in clouds. Highly recommend and it doesn't hurt that it's cheaper than Sephora brands.
I did so much research, looking over Consumer Reports and reviews when I was looking to replace my humidifier. None of them really had the options I was looking for, so it felt exhausting. I finally bit the bullet when a Buzzfeed article had a list featuring a humidifier. I bought it, and have been very happy with it! Easy to clean, depending on the setting (low or high), will last either roughly 24 hours or 12 hours.
A few months ago i was struggling with really dry, flaking, tight skin. One of the things that helped was applying 2-3 layers of this moisturizing toner and sealing it in with a heavier cream (like Cerave or Eucerin Urea cream) and occasionally applying a face oil over top to seal it all in
I've tried quite a few gel moisturizers and Clinique DDMG was my HG for years, but I've recently switched to this!
I haven't found it anywhere in stores, but it's always on Amazon for about the same price. I find it's a bit more moisturizing than the Clinique, but still dries quickly and isn't greasy. I'm dehydrated-oily and I love it.
Get one of those holders that lets it airdry with circulation. I have this set and it does the trick: https://www.amazon.ca/Beauty-Blender-Holders-Luxspire-Display/dp/B0773MKT49/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1528948916&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=beauty+sponge+holder
I got this set last year: the metal ball tipped tool is really nice. It does not have a roller ball so it is easy to clean. You can use any under eye cream you please and the metal feels so nice and cool. It would be easy to carry in your carry on baggage with a few samples of eye cream. I got it on sale so it was about 1/2 the cost listed in this Amazon link but maybe you can find it at Walmart or for cheaper elsewhere. https://www.amazon.ca/Real-Techniques-prep-prime-Make-up/dp/B01JINOUZ0/ref=sr_1_50?srs=7664334011&ie=UTF8&qid=1527538277&sr=8-50
I bought this brush set from Amazon after hearing the youtuber Thataylaa talk about it, and I like it. I have also slowly added individual Elf and Real Techniques which you can find at Rexall among other places when I feel like there's a gap in my collection. I love my Elf and Real Techniques brushes, so if you want to start out by making a little list of what types of products you need brushes to apply, then going to somewhere like Rexall and looking through their sets and individual brushes to fill your needs, that would be a good way to start.
Link is below. It even comes in a pack of 3 for better value. I haven’t tried the cosrx ones, but I’ve tried these Stridex ones. They didn’t change my life. They are like Holy Grail status on the Skin Care Addiction subreddit tho. Also recommend searching amazon for the cosrx pads if you like them! There’s lots of Asian beauty items available.
These are the ones I bought. They come with removable mesh mats inside each drawer. They're stackable as well. I guess it would depend on individual circumstances but they came in 2 days and were packaged well so they wouldn't break in shipping. Everywhere else is too expensive or too far away to buy from. I personally quite like them.
