Airpods are great if they don't already have them (bonus points for the pro version with noise canceling, which works very well and is good for studying but would be higher than your price range).
For my graduating SO, I went with massage gun. Hopefully good for sore muscles after long shifts and just general relaxation. I went with this Sportneer model which is under $100 after clipping the coupon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084Z3MVJK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'm loving all of these stories. I have posted enough in other peoples' threads that I won't bore yall with our "success" story, but I would like to say that if the commitment from both partners is there, it's going to work no matter what you have to go through!
I found a pillow case set on amazon today, which being the cornball I am, I wish I would have had back in the day!
Thanks again for these stories and for the idea of this thread!
Little doc kit with reflex hammers, USB chargable ear lookie thing, and all that. Mine basically didn't touch it after graduating but used all of them a lot during medschool.
If they're at a DO school, massage table for home.
Mini anatomical study skeleton with bits. My wife named hers Big Tim. Nowadays he lives on the mantle.
Open, honest, and constructive discussions of what the next 4, 7, 10, and 20 years look like together. Skim this sub for topics that can cause tension: Division of household labor, career & location prioritization, kids, weddings, finances, attention expectations, and so on.
No need to buy any nice scrubs! Hospital scrubs are soo soft, and if he has to buy any, I think they're all pretty similar. Just ask him/one of his classmates if they have to wear a certain color (we have to wear black scrubs in the hospital). I just got Cherokees from Facebook market for $5 per top or bottom. For shoes: black Danskos/Clarks (business casual). For sneakers, I have Nike React Flyknits for sneakers which got me through surgery and internal medicine where I was standing all day!
If he's still not quite adjusted, I would also consider getting him an H&P Notebook. They will help him a lot for his rotations in the hospital.
Hi,
Similar scenario here. CompSci student (UK) dating a Med student (Malaysia).
Some resources I have collected over the years if you guys want to want to watch something together.
Make time for each other and do try to plan in an advance, be considerate of each other's calendars.
After some time it is definitely going to get a little bit harder, just make sure both of you communicate as much as possible. Get her some flowers/ chocolates delivered once in a while to show her some love. It's much harder to make the other person feel loved there is the distance in between, but the little gestures do go a long way.
Don't wait to tell her you miss her until the next scheduled date/ call.
Talk about the struggles. If neither of you talk about it, it might make the other person feel like it's only affecting them.
It is going to difficult to manage time when it's close to exams, she is most definitely going to be stressed, try to be as considerate and understanding as possible within reason of course. Ask her and try to understand how you can help. Different people work differently, establish the dos and dont's.
Try to find something you can do together virtually. For example, we play warzone together.
Communication is everything. Talk and try to understand one another. Resolve problems together.

This is the one I have. I think I got it on a little better deal than this, but it works great. It isn’t one of the smart ones that makes a path around the room, but I don’t mind watching it bumble along.
Sure! i believe i got this in the dark brown colour. Black looks a bit stuffy but he also told me people in ortho are more 'traditional', so i figured dark brown is still safe enough. I like this bag because it has many compartments for pens and stuff.
Hey all! It's kinda crazy... but the book is live and available on Amazon. You can get it here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/1546625984
To be honest, I'm still working out how to do promotions. But the book will be worth it and I hope you'll pick yourself up a copy. I may do a separate post, but let's see if this helps.
