Ha! A self-resetting version.
Apologies for using Dropbox, but imgur uploads appear to be down right now.
Oh, and just engineer your piston circuit at the bottom yourself, because mine doesn't work right half the time. C:
Using RES? Does the album not display the link?
Anyway, download link. On my computer minecraft runs out of memory if it is activated with a full load, so be careful.
Just so you know, you can set up Open Broadcaster Software (streaming software) to record footage. It's a free alternative to things like Bandicam and FRAPS that won't add watermarks or anything, and you can easily add other functions like picture in picture or a webcam feed to the recording to save on editing afterwards.
I use it for any games that won't co-operate with Shadowplay, it might be worth looking into.
Right, right.
To update Spigot you need to re-run BuildTools:
java -jar BuildTools.jar --rev 1.14.2
and then copy the final spigot-1.14.2.jar
to your server directory.
Alternatively, I would recommend using PaperSpigot. It's even easier, to set up and it has some optimisations over and above those of Spigot, and it has Timings v2 which is greatly improved. Get PaperSpigot from https://papermc.io/ci/job/Paper-1.14/ (and ignore that they haven't updated the title yet and it says 1.14.1). Build 51 updated to 1.14.2 and Build 53 updated to the upstream (Spigot) version that contained the SPIGOT-4992 fix.
Here's my seamless vertical 1x2 piston door, 8x8x7 (not counting the door itself); and hey, this mechanism can be hidden entirely in the floor, the door can be mounted in a flat wall!
After much work I need help in reducing its size (if possible). I'd love some input/advice!
Note: Individual pistons and their linkages are colourcoded, input doorswitch is marked in red.
What does it all mean!?
Basically it's two monostable circuits inverted from an input switch, these then pulse to a precisely timed set of redstone lines to each individual piston in the door. Closing pulls a block down, sets it aside, then pulls the top block down. Opening pushes the top block up, slides a block over and pops it up underneath the first.
This has been a pet-project of mine for awhile, a perfect seamless door.
Extra kudos for anyone brave enough to create a 2x2 door. You have inhuman redstone skills. Thanks you guys!
Here's the download.
Note, in the pictures I have buttons, but in the download I changed it to switches, as they're much faster.
I went in and changed the logic and such. Instead of giving you the area
Here is the JS code: https://repl.it/@Michael_Nicol/Minecraft-Map-Core-Code
I then reinstalled it back into the calculator: https://codepen.io/Mike-was-here123/full/dxWNMO
I added a feature that tells you how many maps you would need for a 1 wide map border around your array. This is to account for the grid which can be a max of slightly less then 1 map in either direction.

Q - Is it faster than the zipper elevator or the stacked minecart elevator?
A - It's faster than the zipper elevator and theoretically faster than the stacked minecart elevator. However in practice due to the startup time it is a tiny bit slower than the stacked minecart elevator. about 2m/s slower.
psst, you can record up to 720p in a mp4 format pretty easily and with a free program with no water marks. I use xsplit for this and I gotta say its pretty nice. Same thing quite a lot of professional youtubers use. link: https://www.xsplit.com/
