The original Pirates on C64 and Amiga500 were absolute masterpieces. Sadly I can't recommend anything similar, but I've recently started playing a game that really reminds me of another classic from the olden days, Heroes of Might and Magic.

This game does have in-app purchases but in my opinion they aren't too much pay to win. If you feel adventurous enough then take a look at 5 Heroes by Banditos Studio. They're a small gaming studio who are really active with the development of the game and have a Discord server for the game where you can give them suggestions, bug reports and other feedback. Also the community of players there is helpful.

If not interested then good luck in finding a good game. The ones without IAPs or ads that are good games are really hard to find on mobile market nowadays.

I've been looking for a similar game as well. I downloaded this frame called Hero wars because it had a similar advertisement, but it only has the puzzles as side quests you unlock. You have to pay the side scrolling rpg to unlock it. I got bored super quick.

There's exceptions for this tho you'll need to buy a membership and own a steam account other than that your ready to play you can play ,apex legends,cusine royale,H1Z1, and mant others. other than free to play games you'll be limited but can still find variety of them.
