What are you using for an in-helmet mic? I refer people to the Polsen PL-4 because it's tiny, you can tuck it deep within the helmet unobstructed, and it'll still pick up your general ambient noise and your voice while being nicely out of the wind (if you keep it out of the way of vent airflow.)
I keep mine up by my ear inside my helmet and it can pick up both my girlfriends voice over the Cardio headset, and mine, and the ambient exhaust tone of our bikes, is pretty great, highly recommend it. For $35 USD on Amazon you can't go wrong for it's great size and quality.
You really only need one unless you're going to go all fancy and record your own POV and then have one pointing at you to cut in from, or swap between PIP views. Also for MicroSD cards, go big or go home. A 400GB Class 10 MicroSDXC card is only, what, $50 nowadays. Get that. It'll hold all your stuff forever and ever, so if you go for a long weekend ride and record every second, you won't need to dump your footage along the way.
I found that I never have the time for so much post-processing of the videos. Editing videos is time consuming. My time is a premium, and ask me if I'd rather sit and edit, or go ride? =) So, one chin-mounted camera does what I need.
I can highly recommend the Motoradd's mounts for helmet chin mounting, by the way. They stand strongly behind their products, too, I managed to break one and they had another to my doorstep for free within a week.
Do you use a gopro, and the gopro mic adapter?
Anyway, I use THIS and it works very well for what I need. Your welcome to check out my videos and see the quality for yourself. But for the price and ease of use I think its fantastic.
I think major distortion can happen due to your helmet and mic placement. But I was using a cheap mic and definitely noticed more wind noise before I switched to this mic. It sits right in front of my mouth now and as long as the mouth vent is closed you can just hear my engine and me when I talk.
Their app seems really nice for livestreaming, but is there any way to pull clips off the camera wirelessly to one's phone?
I'm also considering just getting one of these and sticking it by my earpiece in my helmet. Helmet should reduce the wind noise well enough, and the mic should pick up me and the earpiece chatter together. My Sony EMC lapel mic is too big to stuff up into my helmet.
Rubberducky Deathmatch here, I use a GoPro Hero 3 with a louvre mount on my chin. For my mic I glued one of these lapel mics to a piece of Velcro and stuck it inside my helmet. Seems to do the trick for me. I'm in the process of getting an adapter that will allow me to use a mic with my GoPro and use an external power source as well. I got a 3w solar panel for Christmas so I figured it can at least keep the GoPro going a tick longer than the two hours I get with the extended battery.
You're going to be hard pressed to find one that works at speeds, but the mic I use on my channel is this Here's a link to my channel to get an idea of the sound quality. It's mounted in the chin of my helmet so I imagine mounting it on the side of the half face would be similar as long as you point the end of it away from the wind.
Amazon won't deliver?
Dual lock substitute:
Bluetooth is unpredictable - whether it will work with an audio recorder on a particular android device. We make an audio recorder app:
and it's newer variant:
You may as well assume it will not work for audio recording (although it does work on some devices as reported by some users). And if you want to do call recording with bluetooth that is even worse (i.e. unlikely to work).
