Unless there is a specific mention of Confusion in the rules, (there isn't in the vanilla rules, and the Steampunk rules aren't available online yet), it's just flavor: in game terms, it doesn't mean anything.
The official Munchkin Level Counter ^(also available on iOS) This app also allows you to earn boons, one time playable effects, that can definitely be am advantage, especially late game. Costs a few dollars, but its kinda like cheating, and very VERY Munchkin
Right under the stars is the link to see the reviews. https://boardgamegeek.com/collection/items/boardgame/1927?rated=1&sort=comment_tstamp&sortdir=desc Looking at the comments, it looks like I was right. I think the reason it draws people with those tastes is because people who want to hang out on a board game forum all day are probably pretty serious about their board games. For silly or more party type games, I think Amazon is a better resource for reviews.
lol, married, I know the feeling. My wife wanted to go home but I figured we could drive 10 minutes to the next B&N just to see, but she got Dungeons and Dragons Clue so she's pretty happy! lol
here's a link to tabletop simulator on sale
Here's a link to a munchkin mod
I haven't payed it myself, but it seems really good.
Maybe... but what you get in this package is a mystery. You could get one of several base games. I'd say buy this and if you don't get a base game; head over to Amazon where you can get the original base game for under $15 munchkin at amazon
Edit: fixed link
There's a cheap listing listing for Moop's Monster Mashup on Amazon, and it's a deluxe set, comes with the board and standees. (It's currently $12.25, and it was $10.97 when I ordered it a few days ago. The first picture shows the standard box, but the rest show the deluxe box, which it is.)
Japanese Dragon Shields Matte fit Munchkin cards. There isn't any perfect fit protector sleeves on the market.

I currently use Standard Dragon Shield with Dragon Shield Inner sleeves for 4 years now for Munchkin cards, but the Standard sleeves are too big! I am converting newer Munchkin sets over to the Japanese sized Dragon Shield now.
I got some 3.5x4.5 inch covid card protectors for my dungeon cards!

I cut off the top part of the holder that had the lanyard holes though...because when would I ever put a dungeon card on a lanyard lol
Best I can do is link you to the spreadsheet that I kept the card information on. I used images that I don't own and I would prefer to not get sued.
You mean like these? https://www.amazon.com/Steve-Jackson-Games-Bag-Munchkin/dp/B003Q5LGT0
Search for "munchkin d6".

If you aren't worried about them looking exactly like the rest of the deck, you can get 500 blank cards for $15. I've been working on a custom base deck with them, and they're pretty nice to use. Way cheaper than the munchkin cards.

I have 1-8, and I strongly believe they were all meant to be mixed together. The games are very fun this way, as each expansion builds off the previous.
You dont have to have a massive stack of cards. You can either set stacks aside and wait until you need them, or do like I did and get an 8 deck card shoe
Look for the ones that say Munchkin and a number nothing else. They use numbers for the expansions.
