i've tried that but overwatch disconnects when there's a change in connections :( anyway i've found a free vpn, Speedify. i can play overwatch with pretty good ping (around 20+), took me some time to find since i've tried like 5-6 free vpns which all gave around 300-400 ping so i guess this is the one that works best so far. but since its free, you only get 5gb per month - sufficient i guess. you can definitely give Speedify a try!
Depends on what game you play. iirc, Steam games aren't blocked but most of the other games that I play (GW2, Runescape e.t.c) are blocked. I usually use NordVPN but I'm sure there are better ones out there!
Edit: Twitch is not blocked in NTU wifi
If anything NTU CS/CE courses would be, they are not math heavy. They are simply a regurgitation of math mechanics passed down by PYPs from years to years. That being said, try these resources out:
Math Videos:
-3blue1brown (Essence of Linear Algebra is solid series, u may check out his complex number video as well)
-Numberphile and maybe Computerphile(some nerd stuffs)
- Khan Academy (of course)
Some books:
- Linear Algebra Done Right (link)
- The matrix cookbook
Last but not least, even if you don't like math, don't screw up your year 1 math mods, as they are the foundation for almost every buzz modules u gotta learn in the future (if you plan to research too).

I asked around here last week or so, same problem. I play Overwatch and the game just won’t log in. As for the VPN, I use the ExpressVPN and the Speedify, play under the America server, both got around 10-20 ping. Also it’s kind of an issue because the network will block the website if you search for VPN on Google……
Express is quite pricey tbh, I already have a subscription for a year so I just keep using it, it supports up to 5 devices IIRC and can be used cross-platforms. I use it in my phone, tablet (ios) and laptop (windows), one thing stands out about the ExpressVPN is the speed is really solid, but there're some connectivity issues late night here in NTU. There's a trial in IOS for 7 days.
As for speedify, I heard it from this sub last week, it has 5Gb of data valid for a month, and will refresh after this period. Not sure about the cross-platform capability of this one since I haven't try it out other than gaming.
Also I realized that using a VPN can actually break the speed cap of the hall network. The download speed is significantly faster while the upload speed is a little bit slower. Should be good for content consumption. And for the reference, I live in the Graduate Hall 2, so results may vary between different halls.
Need to use an obfuscated server. Nordvpn makes it super easy (turn on a switch in settings, then choose an obfuscated server to connect to), but it’s not as secure as something like Mullvad or Protonvpn
for convenience just get the kind with 2 hooksreference
usually there’s a small rack at the corner of the toilet and 2/3 hooks on the door too
Hii, I’m currently in Y1 and i sort of relate with to your problems. Instead of showing you how I manager my time, maybe you might want to read up about parkinson's law and Hofstadter's law to help you with your time management? If you have free time to read them!

Looks like they banned it again... the previous time it was banned I was using Speedify as VPN - it’s free! But it does have a cap of 5GB per month. Speedify gives pretty good ping (around 20-30 iirc), you can give it try!
