Also, for great sea stories from mostly the Enterprise guys, check out the Steaming Logs by Bill Tulli. The whole series is on Amazon, and at least some are free on Kindle:

I did and it still didn't help. My body would get up, walk across the room, turn it off, and get back into bed without me waking up. I'd wake up with the door being banged on 12 minutes after I was supposed to be in Rickover.
What ended up saving me was this:

It's one of those apps that makes you solve puzzles and shit to make sure you're up. There are many like it, but this one is mine (that I like the most). The best feature is the barcode scanner. You scan a barcode, say, the Cheerios in your pantry, and it will pop up for you to get your sleepy ass up and scan it with your phone if you want your alarm to shut off.
Check out the ~~true~~ sea stories written by nukes on the carrier Enterprise in the multi volume "Steaming." Carriers are a blast. Definitely go carrier.

Why? Should have just stick a PDF of this in the sandwich...probably would have been more use to anyone legit than anything he probably had access to.
If you have time now, read submarine history (assuming you have no way on working on qualifications at all). This book is awesome in every way. I read it underway.
