SD Maid*, also link for the lazy.
Solid Explorer in my opinion is the best file manager, SD Maid on the other hand is the best file/apps/cache/databases cleaner. Both apps have niche & useful features in their respective categories which would make it hard to develop a single app that does both at the same quality level. I wouldn't want an app like Google files that implements both halfway.
The recently opened files idea is not bad per se, but not that useful in the grand scheme of things. For it to work properly you would have to open every single file through solid file explorer which means you get a subpar experience vs other great apps. For example:
And if you exclusively use those other apps then the recently opened files list wouldn't populate correctly. I see this working great with .txt files and others like it but not much else.
I have the same issue after I formatted the USB to fat32. To fix this you can format it to exFAT or if you don't want to do that just use this File Explorer app that shows the USB without needing to format it.
So I also "gently" abandoned it and started using other apps: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mixplorer.silver https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alphainventor.filemanager
> Has is been confirmed this an Android 11 issue? It is just SE or are other File Managers experiencing this?
I noticed this instantly after upgrading from Android 10 to 11, but this must have something to do with SE since other file managers work fast.
Try it yourself on Material Files and see the likely difference. I could fully switch to it but it doesn't have cloud integration and as an open source app probably won't have.
>I could, but I won't downgrade to Android 10 just for this.
I meant, use a file manager that is still targetting to Android 10. Apps developers can target whatever version they want. That's to say use a file manager that is still working.
>I could, but I won't downgrade to Android 10 just for this.
You don't have to downgrade the OS to do this. Use a file manager that is still targetting to Android 10. You can use an app called AppCheker to know the target versions for any app.
Because Solid Explorer no longer works correctly, I started using MiXplorer:
MiXplorer Silver - File Manager

You may want to give it a try...
Device care > Storage > Advanced > Files is the Samsung path. And you're right, it automatically launches the My Files app by Samsung. I checked for app defaults and didn't find anything so that's Samsung being Samsung again. If I had a dime every time they did crap like this...
This is a workaround, which is actually better but does require installing an app such as this one: Makes an icon which is a shortcut to the AOSP file manager
Total Commander is targeting the Android Pie API, and that might be related to how it is able to pick a protected directory in Android 11. I'm not sure. But I wouldn't expect it to work for long.
Edit: a word
Confirmed. Android 11 (Oct 2020), Pixel 3.
The Android/data directory does have content. I could see it using the File Explorer tool from 3C All-in-One Toolbox
I saw where there was a new update on apk mirror. Thank you for fixing this.
For some reason the Google Play Store still has 2.8.4 as the latest version even though it shows September 14th as the last updated date. Is this something to do with how the Play Store works?

is pCloud's issue with the webDav ... perhaps more users should write to them and ask for better quality service... (because webdav is used by other apps too)
But here, I'm giving you another option: ditch this Solid Explorer for a much better one (yes it exists)... check MiXPlorer (freeware on XDA, but paid version from Google Play helps the developer ... or you could donate). https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mixplorer.silver&hl=en_US
MiXPlorer has support for A LOT of Cloud services, including pCloud
Great! 🎉
But please I recommend you to use a password manager. The thing is, if you don't use your password for some time then there's high chance that you'll forget it. Losing important data is something that I really want nobody to go through! If you don't like online password managers then you can use offline password managers like Enpass. Thank you. :)
Did you buy the Solid Explorer Classic Unlock? If you can install it without paying you already bought it, and it works for the current Solid Explorer, too.
