Go to your User folder (~), press ⌘ + J, tick 'Show Library Folder'.
Alternatively keep it hidden and press ⌥ (Option / alt key) when in the Go menu (menu bar).
Via the Go menu —> Go to Folder functionality (or by pressing ⌘ + ⇧ + G) you can write or paste the path you wish to go to. If it's a file, application or other executable, the enclosing folder will be opened instead and the file will be selected.
~/Library/Mail
Pasting the above path would've brought you to the folder without needing to pass the Library folder. It's hidden by default, in order to prevent casual users from accidentally moving or deleting critical folders. Note that you can copy paths directly for any kind of file.
I remember this from a search I'd saved way back:
Install dmg2img
sudo apt-get install dmg2img
Convert DMG image file to ISO file
dmg2img -v -i /path/to/image_file.dmg -o /path/to/image_file.iso
Copy ISO image to USB
sudo dd if=/path/to/image_file.iso of=/dev/sdb && sync
sdb is an example. In your case it might be different
Edit You can do the conversion and actual writing in one pass, if you don't need the .iso afterwards: it will take half the time as converting to .iso and THEN writing to the USB device. Just do:
sudo dmg2img -v -i /path/to/image_file.dmg -o /dev/sdb Again, sdb is an example. In your case it might be different.
I'm having the same problem as you! According to OS X Daily, the build number for the new beta is 15A225f (you can check by going to › About This Mac). Mine is appearing as 15A215h, so I don't know if I don't have the latest build or if something else is going on.
> There is one annoyance of in the new mission control and I really hope they change this. It only shows the names of the fullscreen apps and desktops on the top bar and when you mouse over them, it shows the screens of those apps.
As I recall, this is an intended feature update. You can file a feedback request with Apple, presuming numerous others have done the same, they may revert it the 10.10 style.
My problem has been resolved. It was a bad host file. But just copying and pasting a new one into the /etc/host folder didn't work I had to do it via terminal.
I followed these instructions.

Happy Days :-)
Hey OP,
If you want to go into the resources and stuff you'll need to disable SIP by following these directions. Once you've done that you'll regain access to a lot of the system in mostly the same way as it was in OS X Yosemite. However, this isn't a "supported" configuration according to Apple so be aware of that if you contact them for support ever. However, if you're beyond the support period or, frankly, don't care, that should give you the necessary permissions to change the icons.
Whilst I know devs are well past this, just an FYI for those of us on the public side of things. Haven't looked at all the changes, but it's nice to see the calendar and today notifications woking again! Yay!
I would boot from an external drive. You'll need an external USB drive... Something at least USB 2.0 and 16GB. This would be the easiest way to go about it. http://diskmakerx.com/
Here's another way to go about it: osxdaily.com/2014/06/09/install-os-x-yosemite-on-external-drive/
... Once you have that in order, boot from the external USB drive by holding down the option key. Install the OS.
See if that works.
Install this, it worked for me:
https://github.com/mattingalls/Soundflower/releases/tag/2.0b2
reason is that ElCap requires all signed kexts, and the default location for kexts is now different too.
You're right I tried downloading the prebuilt version and it isn't working. You can either wait for it to be updated on the website or install it via homebrew which isn't too hard it just seems scary at first.
Use this guide https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/155y41/a_bleedingedge_playback_guide_for_mac_os_x/ if you want to install it via homebrew
But make sure to download xcode 7 through this link,
https://developer.apple.com/xcode/downloads/
Xcode 6 won't work
You're going to need some kind of volume to put the install image on. That could hypothetically be a partition on your internal SSD, but it's probably worth just ordering a flash drive (something like this?) or type-C adapter.
