Also if you like guineapigs how about me? Lol https://odysee.com/@Kona_and_Suba_Guinea_Pig_Adventures:c93267be27d3670fe09f9212e9412c9da432caec
We aren't going to, the SEC case has pretty much killed us doing the roadmap.
We do keep track of new features and things on our roundups: https://odysee.com/@lbry:3f/april2021featureroundup:0?r=36AiGkEyC3cDNPcyZNsHtBrsSz96q3Z3
Sorry about the trouble, does it happen with all videos?
Where are you roughly located and what's your bandwidth?
It's great that you want to help, but there isn't much that can be done on user side if it is server issue.
Using LBRY desktop app may provide better user experience in some cases, as it can also download videos from P2P network.(You can disable saving of hosting data from setting.) https://lbry.com/get
You probably won't want to upload the recording "as is". Odysee doesn't have any transcoding on upload, so bitrates over 8Mbps won't play smoothly for many people.
Best way to find out what works, is just to give it a try. But it's likely that you can just transocode it to use lower bitrate without loosing quality.(Don't know how low will work)

Your account should get a small number of credits once approved - shoot us an email at [email protected] if that didn't happen.
Download HandBrake: https://handbrake.fr/downloads.php
It encodes your video file for you, then it should run smoothly.
We're working on a way to do this automatically when you upload.
Perhaps I can interest you in a wee walkthrough?

I think that rewards will eventually disappear and get smaller as the "rewards pool" will be split with more users. Just my guess though.
I think that rewards per view are capped to total of 500 000 LBC per week and in a given week creator can earn from view rewards up to 0.5% of the total of that week. You can read more from here --> https://odysee.com/@lbry:3f/creatorrewards2020:3
I think they are also going to implement ads in some form to Odysee, but idea is to have them optional. Maybe something like watch ad or pay creator 1 LBC to access content, if creator doesn't want to share it for free.
the 2 h limit is for automatic synk
^(Subscription count must be public on YouTube)
^(Synced video limits: 80 under 600 subs, 200 under 800 subs, 250 under 1K subs, 400 under 5K subs, 500 under 10K, and 1K videos for all higher sub counts.)
^(Video length limits: 30 minutes under 500 subs, 1hr under 1K subs, and 2hr for all higher sub counts. Longer videos will be skipped.)
^(Videos bigger than 2GB will be synced at lower quality (720p, 480p, ...))
^(Due to high demand, you will be only be synced if you have at least 300 subscribers.)
^(Private or unlisted videos will not be published. Copyright and age restricted videos will also be skipped.)
I think just installing handbrake https://handbrake.fr/downloads.php
Opening video in it
Setting options as shown in screenshot in here https://lbry.com/faq/video-publishing-guide
And hitting "Start encode" will make good result. I think handbrake has rf set to 22 by default, so output probably would have sensible bitrate without loosing quality.
I think there should be option to add another channel. Note that there are some requirements to get channel synced https://lbry.com/faq/youtube#limits
If you have still have problems with it, send email to
Your channel may not qualify for sync.Requirements are:

Not through Odysee itself, but there are 3rd party apps that let you upload images and give you a link. Personally, I like typing articles on hackmd.io first and pasting them over to Odysee after I'm done, and it has a button that lets you upload images and put them into the proper formatting.
Yeah it should work.To get streaming one needs channel level 3 and that requires channel to have 50LBC staked. You can check more about levels from this post https://odysee.com/@lbry:3f/levelsonodysee:c
Don't upload anything that you don't have right to upload. If it's in public domain or other "free to share" license or if you have permission from the owner of the videos to share them then it's okay.
https://lbry.com/faq/content
I think there is quite a lot manual selection for main categories on Odysee.
Wild-west is LBC based trending for content that is <7 days old.
Using "explore <tag>" in search bar will show LBC trending based results for that content with that tag.
LBRY desktop app gives more non-curated experience and it also has that "show everything that is published in chronological order" possibility + some other discoverability options, mainly filtering content for tags of your choice.

If you trust the other person, you can also just both install LBRY desktop app. And you can just send copy of the whole wallet file to them. It's located to "lbryum" folder https://lbry.com/faq/lbry-directories
This will give them the exact same and full control to the current accounts in wallet.
The wallet can have multiple accounts(different than email account or channel), so if you were to add an account to wallet, transaction/claims associated with it wouldn't updated to other wallet.
Enabling wallet sync for new logins will add accounts to wallet, but wallets also have default account it uses, so this may not cause problems.
Check out https://lbry.com/faq/how-to-cli and reference the SDK api that's linked at the bottom.

You can also check the network call in dev tools (ctrl-shift-i) on the desktopp when the publish is made.
You're either missing the point or being deliberately obscurantist on multiple counts:
I am reading reddit posts that Odysee/LBRY isn't as censorship proof as I thought.
I also read they claim to be censorship proof against "third parties".
None of this means Odysee/LBRY doesn't censor "their" platform as a 1st or 2nd party. I assume Odysee/LBRY can remove anyone's content from their servers, they can also make searching and finding the content within the platform very difficult to find by removing it from the search index. Sure, the content still exists on your self hosted node, but the content won't be listed, and perhaps even difficult to share.
Odysee/LBRY is starting to sound like another Google/YouTube.
I think it should work, at least for videos without quality setting, did you used the correct link?
You could also try to use LBRY desktop app, and get stream to VLC via it. https://lbry.com/get
get
api-call will return streaming_url
for file. https://lbry.tech/api/sdk#get
Rewards from LBRY Inc. are very temporary, and go away once they have been distributed.
This is the coin distribution: https://lbry.com/faq/credit-policy
Basically 60% of credits go to the miners (600,000,000LBC), and 40% at inception went to LBRY Inc. (400,000,000LBC).
Of that 40% that went to LBRY Inc., half (200,000,000LBC) are to be given away to the community for free through LBRY Rewards.
One quarter (100,000,000LBC) are being sold to actually pay their expenses/for development.
And one quarter (100,000,000LBC) are for giving away in other promos/partnerships.
In short, 10% to the company that built it to pay expenses, 30% given away for free to viewers/content creators, and 60% to miners who keep the blockchain running. Very fair distribution.
Once all rewards have been distributed, there is no "earnings per view" anymore.
So being concerned about "the discretion of LBRY Inc." in the future doesn't really matter. (Rewards will only be around for a few more years, and then they stop.)
Creators can still monetize though, by charging whatever they want per view (Perhaps 0.05LBC). It's up to the creator (at current prices, $10 will get you 6,600 videos priced at 0.05LBC). But of course, many creators will opt to keep their content free to get more views and monetize with sponsors/selling merch.
You can't get wallet seed phrase within Odysee, but you can use LBRY desktop app to get it.
Log in to desktop app and allow "backing up/syncing of data", this will merge the wallet from Odysee with your local one. (Also merges the local wallet to Odysee)
Wallet is locally stored in lbryum
dir
https://lbry.com/faq/lbry-directories
You can also control local wallets with the sdk-api https://lbry.tech/api/sdk#account_list
There are some requirements, most important being that the content has to be original for you to get LBC from the LBRY Inc. Other user however are always free to tip your content.
Check this for more about monetization https://lbry.com/faq/view-rewards
Actually, the FAQ says you can edit the video yourself and edit the claim to change the already published content. IIRC one of the Odysee channels did it themselves when they were teaching how to livestream, they initially said you needed 100 LBC staked and then edited it to the correct value of 50.
Adding to this, if you want to make use and be part of the P2P network, use the LBRY desktop app. Odysee is just a centralized front-end that takes its content from the network, so you won’t be sharing files if you use it.
This is bit late, but the issue with video playback could be that videos are using wrong encoding. Check https://lbry.com/faq/video-publishing-guide for recommended format.
I don't quite understand the issue with login. They could try to manually copy/paste the link at the end of a login email, that may work.
You are free to publish almost anything to Odysee, publishing content that you like to do is highly encouraged.
Basically only copyrighted stuff without permission or illegal things are forbidden and will be filtered out. https://lbry.com/faq/content
I saw the same TOS problems and came here for a little insight. What can I do to help straighten out the misinformation on TOSDR? The TOSDR privacy grade and the findings of the OP remain unaddressed and pretty concerning.
