We used these exact pots.

They are tiny and hold one plant each. But this was just for growing and getting them strong. We had started them outdoors. But it was summer by the time we got them. The pots can still come in handy if you want to put a runner into soil. Then once it's established you cut off the runner and now you have a new strawberry plant in a pot.
I keep them outdoors in a bunker of sorts. Like I have bird netting over it and try to keep a physical barrier between strawberries and birds, squirrels, etc.
I cover them with straw in mid November. I screwed up last year and I covered them like a week too early. In the spring when I took the straw off all of the plants had rotted. Thankfully some plants had escaped their bunker. I was able to dig those up and re populate the bunker.
Another issue I had was moisture/slugs. My bunker is hooked up to the house's sprinkler system. If strawberries get too much water they can retain moisture under the plants. This is an environment that slugs enjoy, and they enjoy eating strawberries. Thankfully I made the water adjustable, and laid down sand which encourages drainage.
I have one similar to this one. It's drip irrigation, and works for my small garden.
Expandable hoses are the way to go. Had this one for a year, no issues yet. https://www.amazon.ca/Performance-Lightweight-Expandable-Garden-Fittings/dp/B06W568LG4/ref=asc_df_B06W568LG4/?tag=googlemobshop-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=293006214632&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14962181274381772939&hvpone=&hvp...
I have similar trays. I use them for bottom watering the plants in red cups.

Pre covid19 they would go as low as $40 for the 2pk. The highest they went was $60. Now the covid19 norm $65, so $59 is a good price for covid19 times. Imo, they are worth the $65, I just holding out for the $40 days to get more lol
So the blueberries are in the coldroom of the house. The rest are outside.
Strawberries are covered by straw. Ginkgo trees are wrapped with these:

I got a little creative with fig tree. I mulched them with tree leaves and then covered with a blue recycle bin (with a few holes on the bottom).
Great video series for beginners and intermediate gardeners.
I'm not associated with Robert Pavlis, but I did find his two Gardening Myths books very informational. He is a Guelph resident as well.
Anyone who wants to save money gardening should pick up this book:

Some veggies absolutely are worth growing to save money. A lot aren't.
I know of a recipe somewhere about using alcohol based mouthwash as an anti-fungal. I did a quick search and found these strategies you may want to consider.
Personally, I don't think you can physically take out the growth as it most likely is pretty engrained in the soil.
