If you were willing to do that, your best bet would be to find a pod coffee maker somewhere around campus. Then just use your own coffee pod. WinCo sells them for 40 cents each and you can get them even cheaper on Amazon. You can also buy refillable versions of them.
Or even better, rather than sneaking into prohibited areas, just get one of these or similar. You can put hot coffee into this thing in the morning, and sealed, it will remain too hot to drink until tomorrow morning.
If a $30 thermos is beyond your budget, head on over to any of the ten thousand thrift stores within a mile of campus, or go to the OSUsed store when it's open. They always have vacuum thermoses for sale. You can probably get one for under $5.
Realize, when you're purchasing coffee on campus, or anywhere else, you're not paying for the coffee. You're paying for the convenience. You're paying for the ability to not have to brew it yourself, clean the machine out, have tools and equipment available, etc. And you're paying for someone to stand around all day, just waiting for people to come in looking for coffee. Even if no one comes in for an entire hour, everyone at that shop is getting paid. Plus the cost of the space itself. The vendors on campus all have to pay rent to OSU, just like any other landlord.
In short, $2 really isn't that outrageous for instant, convenient coffee that you don't have to lift a finger for. People often also pay $2 for a bottle of water, when they could get the same water for less than a penny per gallon out of their home tap. You're not paying for the water; you're paying for the convenience.
ProctorU's client failed during my test and cost me 15 minutes of test time.

If you are concerned with the data then I'd recommend generating a random password and using a client like privacy.com to make sure that your card doesn't get stolen. If you're very paranoid about the spyware, and you should be, then you can connect to proctorU through a virtual machine. This is banned by them, but I don't see how they would find out.
OK there's a few things here:
You can follow these directions to set up an email client of your choice
If you're tired of having to log in twice, just go to (or bookmark) https://mail.google.com/a/oregonstate.edu/. That'll take you straight to the ONID central login form and then redirect you to gmail.
If you have a personal Gmail account and want to switch between them, you don't have to log out. Just click on your user icon/picture on the upper right corner of the screen in Gmail, and click "Add Account". Then you can log into two accounts (or more) at once and switch between them using that dropdown menu.
How far are you willing to drive? Pretty much all the national forests around here have great trails. McDonald Forrest is really nice and has all types of difficulty's. Here's a great source to find specific trails. Enjoy!
I understand your concern. A lot of things things depend on your Uni and the rules they have set regarding the use of their network. I remember being extremely nervous when I wanted to torrent via my Uni's network. I also used NordVPN, but was like "do I just connect to P2P servers and that's it or do I have to do smth more, do I have to set it up?"
But everything turned out all right, Nord worked perfectly and I could freely torrent and use the VPN. I'm sure you can do the same, to a varying degree (not sure regarding a few things because you're in a different unversity).

What make this app stand out from the other?
If you can find an international edition of textbooks will save about 95%. The most I spent on international editions of engineering textbooks was $15. Abe Books is a great resource for international editions, just be sure to order at least one month ahead of time. Even if you drop the class you are only out a little compared to $200+ for each book.
Generally speaking that's true (Google, Facebook, etc), but ProtonVPN has a no log policy, even for their free services. As far as I'm concerned, it's an easy way for people to test out their services before handing over their money.
The C Programming Language - Kernighan and Richie.
Get this book. Not only will you probably need it for class, but it's the definitive standard for C books. Whenever someone refers to "K&R", this is what they're talking about.
Found one comment on the course you're talking about on RateMyProfessor.
Doesn't really answer it since it doesn't relate to me, but still.
Don't worry, it's not like the software you are forced to use has over 864 1 star reviews detailing how much pain and suffering it has caused for reasons totally unrelated to actual class work.
Ah I remember the days of struggling because your answer of 2.0 isn't the same as 2. Staying up til 4 in the morning only to find out that the last question you answered wasn't accepted and it was going to make you repeat everything.
maybe it was a study on how to mentally break people sponsored by some three letter agency, or whoever designed it was a ragging psycho.
Not from Reno, but live there now, and drove through on the way to Yerington for a field trip this past April. It's about an 8 hour drive if you go through K-Falls depending on the weather, a bit longer if you go up I5 from Redding or Sac. Last April the roads were clear on the way down to Nevada, but heavy snow on the way back (9 days in between).
If you're not a fan of hotels you may want to consider Airbnb if you don't mind people. Since you'll have a car you might want to look at places in Albany, too.
I did Geology, not Vet or anything Bio related, but I've heard good things about the program. As an Ag-heavy school I imagine OSU has a good setup.
Enjoy your visit! Corvallis is a nice little town, I know I miss the hell out of it.
Hey my dude, I'll be taking the course through one of the online CS programs in fall so not sure exactly how the same it is. From what I've seen on reddit, the course uses Python. Something I've seen a lot of people recommend is Automate the Boring Stuff for people that want to get a head start.
I've been taking a random course on Udemy to help me get started and I feel like it's been pretty good at introducing me to Python. If you look around on reddit and Google you should be able to find free courses or coupon codes for free courses.
I recommend a waterproof backpack cover! :) I have one that works really well. I don't remember exactly where I got it, but here's something similar from Amazon. Lots of options if you search "waterproof backpack cover" !
I bought this one from Amazon a year ago now. It's affordable, very comfortable, and damn near water proof. It comes with a water proof liner that tucks into a bottom pocket, but I rarely even use it, since the material is already fairly water resistant. I've only needed to pop it on for when it's raining fairly hard. It also has a lot of protection around the laptop sleeve, which I like. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B1W8D2S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_j89FDb5GSZ2PZ
I’d be interested in seeing some proof about the US gov grants. Not that I don’t believe you, but that’s kind of a big deal and not worth trusting on hearsay.
In regards to the eyes alliance, I think you’re mistaken. Here’s what Proton says about it:
“ProtonMail and ProtonVPN are based in Switzerland, which has some of the world’s strongest privacy laws and is not a signatory to any of these surveillance agreements. This provides an additional layer of legal protection on top of the encryption we utilize.”
Edit: Although some of ProtonVPN’s servers are located in those countries, so you need to be mindful of that.
It is just a mini b style of usb connection. Try seeing if you have a cable for a digital camera laying around. You might be able check out a digital camera from the library and use the cable. Also if you or someone you know has amazon prime you can get on for $4.19 in two days.
