I've got a Pixel XL2. Until recently, I wasn't having any issues and then suddenly, I was getting the same problem. I use Sony Vegas Pro, so it's not the video editor that's the problem. The way I've dealt with it is by using Handbrake. It's free and after re-rendering the raw footage, audio and video are in sync when importing into the editor.

You can use the screen dimmer application.

You can also flash the kernel, which will expand the range of brightness adjustment, but for this you need to unlock the bootloader.

The coral color is great if you happen to have the orange version. Really adds to the color. It has a solid lip. With my tempered glass protector there is still coverage when layed face down. Then between the tempered glass and case there is about 1.5mm. The glass for this protector stops exactly at the lighted screen portion.

Very good corner and edge protection. Probably the bulkiest case I ever tend to buy.

I used to have the RhinoShield bumper. I ditched it bc I found the surface of it was a bit too smooth.

Then I came across Spigen cases and bought the clear "Ultra hybrid" version:

I like that the "Ultra" shows the color of the P4XL (one of the reaons why I bought a P4XL in first place 😁). The grip on the Ultra is much better than the RhinoShield bumper IMO.
