I have to admit I haven't really been keeping up to date on the game, I checked out after they decided to port it to the switch rather than add DLC to the original.
It costs the salaries of the game devs, artists and alpha testers to produce to the characters, whatever that may be, plus the cost of putting it up on nintendo's eshop (which isn't very much). Which is about $200,000 at most (likely less because I doubt they have to contract any of the work out besides VA or mocap if they use martial artists, and it probably saves money for them to do more than one character at a time) so they would have to sell about 13,000 copies of the DLC to break even. Pokken DX sold 167,000 copies the opening week, so if even 10% of that crowd bought the DLC they would be making a profit.
Here's a breakdown of the costs of making a character from Skullgirls: https://kotaku.com/5986592/it-will-blow-your-mind-to-see-how-much-it-costs-to-add-one-new-character-to-a-fighting-game
D1 just streamed for a while going extremely in depth with Gengar. He said he'll probably upload it or highlight it so I'd look out for that.
He went over basic uses of moves but would go onto strategy and purpose as well. I enjoyed it and I don't play Gengar all that much.
Whenever he gets it up I'll edit it in.
Here's the VOD of D1 talking about Gengar. You can skip the first 8 minutes.
The link is from my mobile device, I hope it works for you. Also, besides color and PTDX logo -there is no difference between the Wii U and Switch versions of the Pro Pad. I have both.
Played against Maximilian Dood, coulda did better but it was fun ^^ (I'm GL, using Gardevoir)

EDIT: Sorry was on mobile and forgot formatting, fixed it.
Yup.
You can change her speaking language from English to Japanese, and slightly change the frequency of her talking. And you can turn her off, if you want.
I can't find a video of her speaking Japanese on Youtube, but here's one on Twitch. I believe that's on the low frequency as well.
Mostly player data such as ranking, weapon usage and equipment and what maps are due for rotation.

I'm no pro but I'm currently the top machamp in the US right now at rank B5 Hoping to get a stream going and make some YouTube videos to help machamp players and more of the sorts. https://www.Twitch.tv/stamistream https://youtube.com/channel/UCcNqOKtO9blKuKOrEh_htCw
I'm not certain which retail sticks work on the switch, I've only used custom built stuff for the last few years. The switch has very open usb controller compatibility, so anything that can pose as a generic gamepad should work.
The last i saw, hori made a switch-specific version of the RAP V, which is a very well built stick: https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Arcade-Hayabusa-Officially-Licensed/dp/B01N4P40LG
My brother uses the ps4 version of that and it's as much stick as you'll ever need. I find the buttons a bit sensitive, but I'm a big seimitsu fan (many people prefer quick buttons). At any rate they're very easy and cheap to swap out.
I don't think they will release another Pokken specific one since they're coming out with the wired controller [link] already :( but with the release of Pokken Deluxe who knows, maybe we'll get a surprise.
I got this one and I havent had any problems so far.
It's the controller specially made for Pokken, but compatible with Wii U. It's very similar to the control that they use in the arcade versions of the game.
