Update: I received the following response
"You'll be paid for installing and setting up the app at higher than the minimum per hour that Prolific requires, then for each new survey you'll be paid a bonus of 0.8-1gbp. I've been getting a lot of CAPTCHAs lately, but usually just the check the box ones. Researchers are using this more and more as bot checks.
I get the image ones, too, but usually only have to do them once. There must be something in the way you are doing them that makes it difficult to tell if you are a human or not since you keep having to do another one.
One thing to check is that the images in the CAPTCHA don't change after you have clicked on them. I've had those before. Click the boxes with the requested item, then check to make sure those boxes didn't change and have to be clicked again.
Another thing to be sure you are doing is that you click a box even it there is only a very small part of the item in it. For example, the corner of a traffic light may be in one box while the rest of the light is in another.
This web page might help you understand it better.
It involves a using a floating window app on an Android smart phone/tablet. I use FloatWindow (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jack850628.floatwindow) and have messaged the developer with some bugs and suggestions (whom has recently responded to me, so they should be taken care of/added soon).
im also debating a transfer. you can easily google the usd to british pound chart and see where we are on various time scales. right now we are at a year low, but who knows which direction its gonna go next. you can zoom out or in. https://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=GBP&to=USD
I was writing my comment in the same time like user above.
In very many studies there are numbers. I do not associate this disease with appearing in "About me" section on Prolific, but you can suggest them it.
Also maybe try to make/buy/tell someone from family so that you have "cheat sheet", tables or something which may help you.
Or maybe take a look for games or apps for kids with learning numbers? Or look at this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.elishevas.dyscalculator
Over the past few years, I had some experience with people with various mental illnesses ranging from neurosis, depression, Asperger's syndrome, social phobia or bipolar disorder. Despite the predisposition to certain diseases, self-mutilation etc. Many of this are in our head and even if we cannot overcome a given ailment, we can alleviate its symptoms in most cases - thanks to perseverance, psychotherapy, drugs and attempts to overcome what is bothering us.
Unfortunately, many people justify some ailments with diseases but do nothing in this direction.
How are you even reading the amounts that the researchers are offering on Prolific? Not to mention the prices of products in the shops. I don't want to be rude or offend you... I'm just curious. And I keep my fingers crossed for you.
My personal favorite is watching ads. But that in itself won’t get you anything, the major thing getting you money will probably be the referrals or promos and challenges on the sites nothing more but it works for me so….yeah. you can check this site out though if you wanna give it a try: Ojooo Wad (https://wad.ojooo.com/register.php?ref=miss3persin) So, I hope that helps.
It's slow as of now, but if you look at anything University level it is also slow because it's the start of the studying year. Journals published by Universities are usually cough crapper submissions entered earlier in the year but kept back to publish now when it's quieter.
The site is UK based and I'm from the UK so I assume that is where they market hardest (mturk doesn't have UK residents), and I've seen about 5 studies this week, even one for £5 on social evolution.
None of you got this study http://prolific.ac/studies/561430847ffc8a000b811873 I had to take it and quit it just to get it out of my studies list, it's been there for weeks and I'm not inserting things into orifices for that little cash ;)
>Prolific Notifier on Android
you mean this? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.goncalojoaoc.prolificchecker&hl=el
I use this one --> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.goncalojoaoc.prolificchecker&hl=en_GB (I use it on Android, but it may also be available on IOS)
You sign in once a day (or each time you turn your phone on) and it notifies you of new studies however often you choose (so you can check for studies once a minute, or once an hour etc.). However, it is likely that a lot of the studies you get will be notified too late, and you will arrive either to see that the 'study has zero participants required', or there is no study there at all, so maybe don't rely on it entirely.
